Spring Frame with Watercolors & Vellum

Hello there everybody, Wanda here guesting on the Pretty Pink Posh blog! I’m sharing a card today using products from the March release.

Start by die cutting the Spring Frame out of watercolor paper. Using your favorite water colors, color in the flowers and leaves on the frame in soft Spring colors. After the water colors are dry, fleck gold paint onto the panel.

Die cut an Easter Egg and water color in pink to match the frame colors. Fleck gold paint onto the egg also.

Attach a panel of aqua cardstock onto the entire front of an A2 card base. Cut a sheet of vellum to fit behind the open portion of the Spring Frame. Heat emboss in gold the “Happy Easter” sentiment from the Easter Eggs stamp set onto the vellum in the top/center.

Attach the embossed vellum directly to the back of the frame by using clear glue around the edges. Once that is dry, attach the frame and vellum over the aqua paper on the card base using foam tape.

Tuck the Easter egg into the bottom corner of the frame and attach it with foam tape.

I wish you a beautiful, creative and happy day!

Spring Frame w/ Magnolias

Hi, everyone! It’s Marge here for you today sharing a card that features Magnolia Flowers set and Spring Frame Die from the Pretty Pink Posh Release.

I started by stamping Magnolia Flowers on 80lb Neenah White paper using a very light colored dye ink, then I colored flowers and leaves using my Copic Markers. I added more shades to the images using Polychromo pencils and then I cut them all using Magnolia Flowers Coordinating Dies.

Next, I sponged A2 sized heavy-weight watercolor paper using some dye inks with deep blue, teal, light blue, pale pink and coral colors, then I die cut it with Spring Frame Die. I die cut another watercolor paper and glued the two layers together to give dimension to the frame. One more watercolor panel was blended with light blue and coral dye inks to be used as a background.

Before I glued the frame to the background, I stamped a sentiment from Thoughtful Greetings set with the guidance of Spring Frame die cut. In turn, I added splatters of deep blue ink and let them dry.

Now, it’s time for placing Magnolias on this framed background. For this, I used Mini Glue Dots and Foam Tapes. Finally, I adhered the panel onto a card base and finished off my card by adding some Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix and 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins.

For those who are interested in my coloring, Copic markers I used for Magnolias are YR14-YR01-YR000 and the Prismacolor pencils 757, PC939, PC1001, PC118, PC938 (blanc) and Noir.

Thank you so much and I hope you enjoyed it!

Tutorial: Copic Rainbow Butterfly Card

Hi everyone, it’s Ardyth and I’m here with a colourful, happy hello card today!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I started by creating my background, using my Mini MISTI and the Spring Wreath set. I stamped the wreath off the edges of my square panel, and then turned the panel before stamping again. Then I filled in any empty spaces with some of the single flowers in the set. This is a quick and easy way to create an all-over flower background. I trimmed the panel using a circle die and also stamped and die cut one of the butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies.

I coloured the butterfly with a rainbow of Copic markers and then started working on the background. Using another circle die, I lightly drew ‘trail’ lines from the butterfly, creating an area for some colouring. I coloured it in with the same Copic markers to create unity between the butterfly and the background.

I found that the contrast between the black ink and white cardstock on the rest of the circle panel was a bit distracting, so I coloured that area with a gray marker to tone it down and allow the focus to be on the colourful, magical butterfly trail!

I glued the body of the butterfly directly to the circle panel, and popped up the edge of the wings with some foam tape for dimension.

Enjoy browsing the Pretty Pink Posh Shop full of the new products. I hope you enjoyed the card and video.

Rainbow Flowers

Hi friends! It is Dana here today sharing a card using the Spring Wreath Stamp Set. While this stamp set has the most gorgeous Spring Wreath, it also has the most adorable “little extras.” For my card today, I am using the little flowers (extras) that are included with the stamp set.

I started my card my stamping my flowers in a single row onto a 1.5 inch piece of white cardstock. I used a random pattern and stamped my flowers with a Copic friendly ink in my Mini MISTI. Then, I colored my flowers with my Copic markers.

Next, I stamped my sentiment and mounted my white cardstock strip onto a piece of black cardstock with foam adhesive. For my card front, I used a piece of rainbow patterned paper cut down a little smaller than my A2 card base.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my card! Make sure you stop by the Pretty Pink Posh Shop and see all the new release products.

Tutorial: Magnolia Butterfly Scene

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh fans! Heather here this morning to share a card using a couple of the beautiful new releases from PPP to make this soft and dreamy card! The gorgeous Magnolia Flowers and Beautiful Butterflies stamp sets were just made for each other – don’t you think?

I’ve combined some simple Copic coloring, ink blending, and a bit of sparkle to put this together – keep reading for a photo tutorial of how it came together!

One thing I like to do when building a scene, is lay out the stamp sets to get a visual of how I want them to all come together. Obviously you can’t stamp them like this, but when I like an idea, I often snap a quick photo with my phone so I don’t forget what I had in mind. Sometimes the plan changes a bit, but this really helps me to picture the finished card a bit!

Next, I stamped all the images out, and colored them with Copic markers. I wanted the colors to be nice and soft for this card, so I used my colorless blender a lot! I lot of the areas I added a bit of color, starting with the darkest, blending out with a lighter shade of the same color, then blending that edge out with the colorless blender. This next photo shows the colors I used for these:

Next, I die cut the images with their coordinating dies- Beautiful Butterflies and Magnolia Flowers – and arranged them on a white card base. I ended up sticking pretty close to my planned layout and was really happy with it! I used a piece of Press-and-Seal (a Jennifer McGuire trick!) and picked up all the images to set aside while I did some ink blending on my card base.

I added the ink in diagonal corners so it would add depth behind each side of the images when I put them back in place. I’ve been enjoying using make-up brushes as ink blenders – they work SOOO easily and fun! And they are fairly inexpensive as well!

Next, I just had to add a touch more sparkle – so I added some gold splatters using my Starry Colors Palette, and gave it a bit of time to dry.

I added foam adhesive to the back of all my images, pressed them into place on my card front, and then peeled away the Press-and-Seal. Perfect placement! Now to add some more sparkle, I pulled out my Sparkling Clear Jewels. Kind of on accident, I discovered that I liked them even better if I glued them in place upside down! Instead of adhering the flat back, adhere the smaller flat portion of the front of them – I felt like it showed off the design of the jewel even better, and made it more sparkly! I like to use Glossy Accents to adhere them on, and my Crystal Katana is also super helpful.

Here on the finished card you can see how those jewels are set in place upside down a little better – do you notice how they are more sparkly that way?

I used my MISTI to stamp a sentiment from Encouraging Greetings– a previously released stamp set, and pretty much a must have! It was the perfect size to fit in the little space I had on the bottom corner there.

And, because you can never have too much sparkle, I added some sparkly clear Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops on the butterflies, blending it out from the centers and adding it around the outer edges.

Here is what it looked like when it finished drying.

I love the soft and subtle colors on this – so fun to play with different color combinations!

What is your favorite style of color combination? Soft and subtle, or bold and bright? Or are you like me and love to do both?

Thanks so much for stopping by today – hope you have a wonderful day!

Tutorial: How to Make An Inlaid Shaker

Hello friends, Eloise here and today I have a video sharing how to make the peacocks feathers from the Peacock Friends into a mini shaker. This is quite a long process, but the end look is super fun!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

To begin, I stamped out my images from Peacock Friends and coloured them all in with Copic Markers. I then die cut them all out using the coordinating dies.

Copic Markers Used: YG01, YG03, YG07, YG09 / BG10, BG11, BG13, BG49 / B32, B24, B26, B39 / YR00, YR02, YR12, YR18 / Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19

Once they’re all die cut out, I took the peacock image and used an exacto knife plus some detail cutting scissors to cut around each of the feathers. I made sure to leave the white border intact as well. Once I’ve cut around all the feathers, I made sure to keep the detail areas in case I needed them later.

Next, I took my Mini MISTI stamping tool, Staz On Ink and some acetate and stamped another of the same peacock image on it. I didn’t die cut this out, I left it on a larger piece of acetate until I needed to cut it down later. I added adhesive to the coloured peacock and adhered it over the acetate stamped one.

I then took another piece of white cardstock and cut the coordinating peacock die in the middle. I then added adhesive to the backs of the single feathers and adhered them at the top left and bottom right of my panel. I also stamped the ‘You Are Special’ sentiment onto the bottom of the card with black ink as well. I flipped over the panel, added adhesive around the die cut peacock and adhered the acetate piece into place. I cut off the excess and added foam tape all along the back.

I then pulled out some Navy Cardstock and cut it down to a card base. I then pulled some Mermaid Mix and Spring Meadow Mix Sequins since they matched the colours I used well and added them into the centre of the card base, took of the backers from the foam tape and adhered the panel into place.

That finished up my card for today, I hope you enjoyed, and I’ll see you next time

Tutorial: Heat Embossed Spring Card

Hi everyone it’s Ardyth and and I’m back with a pretty, spring card today on the Pretty Pink Posh blog and YouTube channel!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

I used the Darling Dragonflies set. I love how cute these guys are with their happy smiley faces. I wanted a more elegant look, though, so after I stamped them, I filled in their heads and bodies using a Versamark marker before heat embossing them with a sparkly embossing glitter.

I added some ‘iridescent’ colour to the dragonflies’ wings with pale pink and blue Copic markers, flicked in each wing, close to the body. I created a lovely spring background with some simple ink blending – blue for the sky and spring green for the ground. And then I added some ‘grass’ by using the leaves from Crocus Flowers, pale grey ink and a green Copic marker.

I trimmed the panel with the stitched rectangle die from Stitched Notes and then I stamped the sentiment from Simple Sayings: Courage, using a grey ink, rather than black. I felt that black would be too harsh against my soft spring scene. I popped the panel up on a plain white card base.

As a finishing touch, I added a few Sparkling Clear Jewels.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed the card and video.

Watercolor Easter Eggs

Hello friends, Angelica here with a card showcasing the new Easter eggs stamp set and Easter Eggs coordinating die.

I stamped the eggs onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with embossing ink. I then heat embossed using gold embossing powder. I used Zig Clean Color watercolor brushes to color the eggs. I pulled random colors and added color to the edges, then used a #4 round watercolor brush and clean water to move the color. I used the coordinating die to cut the eggs out when I was finished.

To assemble the card, I cut a panel of white card stock and blended Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto it. Then I splatter shimmer water onto the panel, let it sit for a few seconds, then dabbed the water up with a paper towel. While the panel was drying, I used the curved scallop die from the Scallop Borders Die Set to die cut plaid pattern paper and green card stock. I glued the papers together, and added a strip of foam adhesive to the backside bottom. I added thin adhesive squares to the backs of the eggs. I stamped and heat embossed Happy Easter on the panel after it was dry, then trimmed it to 4 x 5.25. I added it to an A2 size card base, then added the border and eggs. To finish the card, I trimmed the outside eggs to fit the card base.

Thanks for stopping by! We hope you were inspired by today’s post!

Peacock w/ Copic Markers

Hi everyone, Lindsay here today! I’m showcasing the Peacock Friends stamp set and coordinating die set from the new release. I’d say it’s one of my favorites but really the whole release is my favorite! I can’t pick!

For today’s card, I started off with making the background. I used a piece of kraft cardstock and white heat embossed the flowy feathers from the Peacock Friends stamp set. I love these feathers so much and have actually used them on other cards all by themselves as the central image. I then used the Window Frame Die to cut out a window for my main peacock image.

I decided that the background of the window needed more of a pop so I used some Distress Oxide Inks and a stencil to create a background designed to look like the sky. I popped up the kraft background on foam tape and adhered it to my card base. I also adhered the sky window background, but without any dimension.

I then got to coloring my image from Peacock Friends stamp set using copic markers. Once die cut, I adhered the peacock to the window aspect of the card, also using foam tape. I then white heat embossed a sentiment from the Peacock Friends stamp set onto black cardstock and cut the ends to look like a banner.

Finally, I finished it all off with some sequins and a glitter pen! Hope you enjoyed today’s card and had fun over here on the blog! Have a great day!
