Halloween Fun + Coupon Code

It’s mid September, the leaves are starting to fall and I think it’s about time I start sharing some Halloween and fall projects here on the blog. I don’t know why, but I love making Halloween cards. It might be the fact the colors are outside my “norm”, or maybe the fact that I have never gone trick-or-treating. Whatever the case may be, the Halloween stamps these days are so cute and fun to use.

One of my favorite fall sets is So Thankful by Lawn Fawn and it’s a mere $4.00, but I have used it so much the last year. You can create simple place cards, tags, one layer cards, or you can build it up and create full pumpkin patches. Such a fun and versatile set!

Pretty Pink Posh

For this card, I wanted to showcase the Storybook 1 die and show how you can create a little scene, but also include a sentiment. The beauty of this die is you can use it with ANY brand of stamps. I personally am obsessed with the Teeny Star Background from DeNami Design on my Halloween cards. The contrast between the bright white cardstock and black stars is my favorite.

To finish off the card, I felt it needed some sparkle so I added some Marigold, Onyx, Charcoal and Sparkling Clear sequins. I adhere mine with Multi Medium Matte– my go-to for adhering small embellishments!

Pretty Pink Posh

Want to see some of the other Halloween projects I’ve created years past? Here are three that I really loved. There’s more that I’ll share… in a post later on!

Thank You + Birthday Monkey

Hello, friends!

Before I get into today’s post, I want to say a GIANT thank you to every single person who ordered the STAMPtember exclusive set. The set and dies sold out within days and I was in complete shock. It’s such a scary feeling to put your ideas (and business) out there, so the fact that it was so well received and reading the love made my heart fill with joy. I know that there are lots of you that weren’t able to get the set, so I purchased an extra one and I’ll be doing a giveaway in the near future!soldout

When the Baby Party Animals set first released, I couldn’t stop using it on every card. I originally was going to post this card then, but the set sold out and I wanted to wait until it came back in stock. Fast forward several months, it’s in stock and I finally got some time to post this card! I just love these cute little animals and it’s so easy to create scenes with the other designs in the set. I’ll share the other cards I created with this set at the end of this post.

partyanimal2a

I’ve released 17 die sets so far, but the Stitched Film Strip is still one of my favorites. It’s unique and so versatile, plus when I released it, there was nothing else like it around. You can use it for any holiday or occasion and die cut it in so many fun patterns.

You all know that I’m really particular on the die sets I purchase. Just because a set has matching dies doesn’t mean that I will necessarily buy them. How do I decide which dies to buy? I ask myself these questions:

  1. Is this stamp set versatile?
  2. Are there a lot of little details in the designs that’ll make it hard to fussy cut?
  3. Can I justify spending ___ amount on a die set rather than getting another stamp set?

There have been a few times when I just purchase a stamp set and then later on get the matching dies. Sure, it’s not convenient for those first few cards, but if a set is versatile enough and you really love it, it’s totally worth getting the matching dies for future cards.

partyanimal2b

As promised, here are some previous cards I made with the Baby Party Animals set. Evidently, the monkey is my favorite (I didn’t realize this until I made these snapshots!). You can create so many fun scenes and add elements from the set in so many different ways.

In closing, I want to remind you all that the Guest Designer call ends in 4 days. This is a great way to have your work take the spotlight and you’ll get to work with not-yet-released products. Plus, several of my design team members started as guest designers, so you never know what could happen! Hurry and get your submissions in!

That’s a wrap for today’s post. I hope you have a wonderful weekend- thanks for spending some time with me today!

STAMPtember Stamp Set by Pretty Pink Posh!

stamptembergraphic

STAMPtember® (stmp-tmbr) is defined by Simon Says Stamp in this way… an event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping.  Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps.  However, it didn’t take long until we became a One Stop Shop.  Now STAMPtember is so much more than stamps!  This year you’ll also see a focus on many other exciting products like dies, inks, notecards and some special surprises.  Our intention is to enhance your stamping experience!  Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business, and we are celebrating by releasing exclusive products with many of the industry’s finest brands. Be sure to visit our Blog as the home base for the festivities!  Trust me when I tell you that the excitement this year is over the TOP, and we are planning fun surprises to keep you on your toes all month long!

I’m so excited to announce STAMPtember® is finally here and the party has officially started at Simon Says Stamp!

There are no words for how giddy I am this day is finally here. It’s been a dream of mine to design a stamp set of my own and I am thrilled that my first one is part of this special event. If you’ve followed my blog, you know that I’m a fan of little critters and six months ago, I came up with this concept of having animals peek out of a hot air balloon. You can create scenes with the set, or just highlight the balloon and animals. The best part of it all? There are coordinating dies!

set1 set2
For my card today, I started out with the Stitched Duo 3 as my focal panel. I love the shape and it’s the perfect size for your standard A2 size card. I wanted to make it look the balloon was flying, so I mounted it at an angle with the mountains in the background. Such an easy card to make, but it’s sure to be a day brightener for the recipient!

Pretty Pink Posh

How cute is this little puppy peeking out from the hot air balloon? In this set, you’ll find a bunny, mouse, cat and dog, all of them are super cute, but also really versatile. I chose to color my card with Copics this time around, but they would look darling with watercolors or even paper pieced!

Pretty Pink Posh

I wanted to show how versatile these animals are with the Pretty Pink Posh dies I’ve released in the past. Below you’ll see examples of what they look like with the Stitched Film Strip, Stitched Duo 2 and Stitched Duo 1 die sets.

Pretty Pink Posh

I wish I could tell you just how surreal it was to see these designs come to life and then get to stamp with them. It was even more amazing when I saw what my design team created with the set. Here’s just a peek at what they did… be sure to hop along to see their full cards! Plus, some of them even created how-to videos and tutorials!

Pretty Pink Posh

I hope that you all love this stamp set and are inspired by the samples the design team created. A giant thank you to Simon Says Stamp for letting me be part of STAMPtember®.

NOTE: these sets are available exclusive through Simon Says Stamp and are limited edition. Once they sell out, they’re gone for good!

You’ve Got A Friend

Hello, friends!

Today I have a card to share that I made during a previous crafty session. It’s so funny-some months I’m all caught up on orders and the day-to-day office work, so I have all sorts of crafty time, and then other months I’m so busy that I don’t get to craft at all. Oh the struggle of seeing all the new products laying in the studio and not getting to use them… Can anyone relate to that?

On this card, I pulled out several Lawn Fawn sets- Gleeful Gardens, Let’s Play and Happy Easter (supply list below). If you have followed my blog for a while, you know I love mixing and matching sets and brands and I really did that on this card.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my focal point, I started off with the Stitched Duo 2 and die cut it with the light blue paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection (you know the one- the paper pack I bought at least six times ON PURPOSE). I then put together my scene using the Lawn Fawn stamps and added the Picket Fence die, along with a grassy “hill” made from the scallop in the Stitched Borders 2 die set. To round out the focal piece, I added this fun sentiment from the Ella & Friends set.

For the card base, I stamped the Arrow background from Create A Smile, added a light yellow and white scallop strip (die cut from the Stitched Borders 1) and then put everything together. To finish off the card, I added a couple of sequins and some flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix to the corner.

Pretty Pink Posh

Pretty Pink Posh

I mentioned that I would bring some sneak peeks and an update on where you can find Pretty Pink Posh. As you know, it’s just me doing everything here, so I’ve been really cautious about not growing too quickly and still maintaining quality customer service. Recently, I’ve been able to bring on a couple more retailers- one of them being in Japan and another one coming to the UK (not yet revealed yet)!

Find all of the current PPP retailers HERE

I’m currently working on some fun things that I’ll announce here on the blog soon. I’ll see you tomorrow for another post!

Missing Creativity

Pretty Pink PoshHello and Happy Friday!

Today I have a set of cards I created using the brand new Color of Fun release from Simon Says Stamp. I was so giddy to receive a package from them and let me say, the promo picture with all the new inks had me drooling. The fun thing about getting a package from the team at SSS? I never know what will be inside!

I’ll admit, my creativity has been lackluster lately and after a frustrating six hour craft session, I decided to take a break and come back. The stamps are so fun and easy to use, but my coloring, layouts and finishing touches always made the end result “off”. Thankfully, I was determined to make something worthy of posting and the idea of using the leaves from the Explore Nature set came to mind. Perseverance is key when creativity is missing!

Pretty Pink Posh

This release didn’t have any critters and I felt like these cards needed a cute animal. I pulled out the adorable monkey from Baby Party Animals, which was part of the last Simon Says Stamp release. I think he is darling and this set has definitely found a place at the top of my go-to stamp sets.

Previous cards using this set can be found HERE and HERE.

Pretty Pink Posh

I had so much fun stamping out these leaves and coloring them all sorts of colors. Whenever I create a duo, trio or set of cards, I stamp all of my images out and then color them all in first. This allows me to pull out the markers just once and then I can easily see which colors I want to use for the cardstock, embellishments, etc…

In the middle of the wreath I felt a sentiment was necessary, so I masked off one from the My Sunshine set, which you’ll see below. It’s easy to forget how a simple technique like masking can really change the way your sets look!

Pretty Pink PoshTo finish up the card, I added some Aquamarine, Marigold and Sparkling Clear sequins for a little dimension and sparkle.

Tip: whenever you add embellishments to cards, a trio or odd numbers are a great way to go!

Pretty Pink Posh

These cards are really easy to create and with a simple change of coloring on the leaves or switching out the animal and sentiment. I can’t wait to play with the new SSS sets a little more and share those cards with you soon!

Until next time…

Superhero Thanks + News

Today I wanted to share a card that I made several months ago and never got to share. Both my work computer and camera have been on the outs for a while, so the photos I took of this card previously never looked decent. Thanks to the gorgeous weather here in Seattle recently, I’ve been able to take some better photos and am “stocked up” for upcoming posts.  Sadly, my computer has completely crashed from old age and I’m going to need to purchase a whole new one, for those who have been asking why I haven’t done any videos recently. I tell ya, I have a love/ hate relationship with technology…

Now back to the card for today. When I made this card, I was going through a phase of needing a break from pink and purple, so I pulled out some boy-ish colors that I think look darling with these superheroes.

june4a

One of these days I’ll have to share a snapshot or video of how I decide which stamps to use on a card. I typically pull out 5-6 stamp set that I want to use and then I’ll use a little of this set, a sentiment from another set and maybe some little elements from a different set. I always like trying to use the sets I have in new and creative ways and this is a great way to do that!

As I was putting together the pieces of the card, I needed a background and the  Teeny Star Background fit the bill perfectly. I have a thing for background stamps and this is one of my absolute favorites. To finish off the card, I used the thanks sentiment from the Stitched set by Impress and colored it in so it had an ombré feel. Such a fun sentiment that can be used in so many ways!

excitingnews

For my customers in Japan, I have some exciting news- the store Crop Party (located in Osaka) will be carrying Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies very soon! They placed their first order and I’ll be shipping it later this week and that means you can order right in their store! I am so very excited about this amazing opportunity and it wouldn’t be possible if you didn’t continue to share you love of PPP with your local stores.

I wanted to update you all on my sequins. I’m getting a HUGE restock shipment of the sequins that have been out of stock for quite some time. I know there are quite a few that have been waiting for this restock, so I’ll be doing a special 3 day coupon once they arrive. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping in and spending some time with me today. Until next time…

Party Animals + Updates

Hello, hello!

Today I have a card to share with you all. I’ve been sneaking in craft time here and there, some more successful than others. As I’m writing this, I just had to step away from six hours of crafting time with NOTHING to show for it. It’s funny, whenever I don’t have time to craft, I have these great card ideas and then when I finally get time to play, nothing turns out. Does this happen to anyone else?

This card is from a previous productive craft session. I used the adorable Baby Party Animals set from SSS and created a birthday scene. As soon as I saw all the different sized presents, I knew I wanted to create a present tower and the rest came together quickly. I mean, who could resist giving that little monkey gifts, right?!

Pretty Pink Posh

Lately I have been loving the edger shaped die that I added to the Stitched Borders 3 die set. It’s a unique shape and you can use it in a variety of ways. I’ve been loving adding it to the bottom of cards giving the card a little more depth.

With all the fun colors of sequins I’ve been adding to the shop, I forget how striking a gold or silver sequin can be. I pulled out the 4mm and 6mm Metallic Silver sequins on this card and really love how they stand out against the pink and green.

Pretty Pink Posh

I’ve received a few questions asking when the winners of the Watercolor Blog Hop will be announced. Since there are so many prizes and I want to make sure it’s done as organized as possible and nothing gets overlooked, I’ll be working on the post over the weekend and the post will go live next week. Stay tuned!

The second question I’ve been getting frequently: how can you be part of the Boxes of Cheer program I’ve put together. (I’m using the word program loosely… it really is me just trying to bring a little bit of joy and cheer to those who need it). I recently put up the option for you to be able to donate to future boxes and the shipping of them. I’ll be sharing the pictures of the boxes I’ve sent in the near future- just putting together the last few touches.

And the final question: when are you going to post more videos? Well, I’m sad to say that my editing computer has crashed and so I’m having to start from scratch with a new computer, programs and then re-create graphics to include in the video. I’m not sure when all of that will happen exactly since I’ll need to build a computer from scratch. If/ when I have updates, I’ll let you all know!

borderThank you all for continuing to share my site with others. It’s been so neat to see the PPP family grow and I’m excited to continue bringing cards, products and other fun things to this site.

Until next time… XO

Watercolor Products + A Card

Hello and Happy June 1st!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I finally got to get in some crafty time in, which I am SO happy about. After not crafting for almost a month, my creativity took it’s time coming, but it finally arrived towards the end of the night. Thankfully, I did get a couple of cards made and even managed to work on samples for the new release next month!

With the Watercolor Blog Hop just days away, I wanted to show you a super easy card that is perfect for a watercolor beginner (like myself). I created my main panel and thought it needed a bit of color, so I brought out my first set of watercolors and voila! If you’re just testing out the watercolor trend, I would suggest getting the set I show below (#2). It’s very inexpensive, but is great for beginners to get a feel for this pretty technique.

Pretty Pink Posh

The great thing about watercolors is you can just add a little bit to a card, or you can go all out. Since I’m still just a beginner, I usually only add a little bit to my cards. However, I’m going to try my hand at getting into this gorgeous trend a little more, so hopefully I can use them more often!

On this card, I pulled out the adorable elephant from WPlus9 and created a mini scene. I wanted to try to create a flowering tree, so I used the Simple Tree from DeNami Design and then added some of the sequin flowers from the Lilac Garden Flowers Mix.

Pretty Pink Posh

If you are like me, you might be a little overwhelmed by the amount of watercolor options out there. I compiled a list of some of the top options available and broke them down into different sections. It’s not super comprehensive, but I wanted to show just some of the different products available that are popular.

May 2015 Release

Hello and Happy May!

Today I have a new release, but things will be a little bit different in this post. I typically show a couple of cards and a new release video when I have a release and I DO plan on doing that. These last few weeks have been rough for me health wise so the amount of hours I’ve been able to work has been cut down. Not to worry, I WILL have more cards and a video coming soon…

As many of you noticed in my last release, I am a tad bit obsessed with purple lately. It’s a color that I have had a hard time using in the past, but lately, I can’t seem to put it down! I actually put together a whole embellishment kit and two sequin mixes around purple and I just LOVE how they turned out.

Pretty Pink PoshToday’s card showcases the two brand new die sets I’m releasing this month- the Stitched Banner Duo 2 and the Stitched Borders 3. I am so proud they turned out exactly how I envisioned and I know you all will love them, too!

For today’s card, I brought out a stamp from an unlikely source- a Christmas set. I have the sets that are brand new, or that I plan on using it a bin and this Christmas set was in it. I immediately saw the wreath and thought it would be a great spring wreath. I have now created three cards with this wreath…. see, when I like a stamp/set, I use it a ton!

Pretty Pink Posh

Since my last release, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the time to release my next batch of flower sequins. These flowers are the perfect finishing touch for so many cards and I love the colors in this new batch called Lilac Garden Flowers.

In this closer pictures, you can see the new scallop border that’s part of the Stitched Borders 3. You know I love my borders- especially stitched borders- and I think these new ones are super versatile.

Pretty Pink Posh

I wanted to make things super easy for you, so here are the direct links to all the new products:

Many have been asking for iridescent sequins and I finally found some colors that I think are unique and gorgeous. These will be exclusive to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop, so be sure to stock up as you won’t be able to find them at your favorite retailers.

The design team and I will be having a blog hop showcasing the new dies and sequins on May 14th and I’ll be crafting/ filming the new release soon. These new products are so fun and I know that you all will fall in love with them.

Thank you for your continued support, love and encouragement. I’ll be back soon with more inspiration!
