Today is the DeNami blog hop and the theme for this month is RAZZLE DAZZLE. Seeing as I’m a girly girl, I truly love this theme and I couldn’t wait to create something for it. The question: what kind of dazzle would I add?
As many of you know, I recently opened the Pretty Pink Posh Shop and my love of sequins has been taken to new heights. With the abundance of them around, I just couldn’t resist adding lots of them on today’s card. I went the route of a bright and whimsical theme and I must say, it’ll be hard to part with this one. The colors= swoon worthy!
Since I’m the first stop on the hop, I will wrap this up. The next stop: Dana Seymour’s blog! Dana never ceases to amaze me with her gorgeous cards and I cannot wait to see what she created for today!
Thanks so much for stopping in- enjoy the rest of the hop!
There’s something about getting to fulfill one of your childhood dreams that is exciting. It’s even more exciting when you get to play with pretty products in the process. It’s been so amazing getting to see my little shop open and have some orders come in. Thank you to those who have ordered already! It’s honestly so fun to get an email saying I have an order and getting to see the items that were ordered and sending it off. For those who have shared about my shop or recommended it to friends, I’m sending BIG virtual hugs your way.
Today I have a new Christmas card to share and it features quite a few products from the shop. In the past I’ve shown cards featuring die cuts and sequins (see HERE and HERE) and I wanted to bring you a new one for Christmas. This one is a little unique because it actually isn’t a special die- it’s just a circle! I stamped the Large Ornament from DeNami and then used one of my Spellbinder dies to cut out the middle. Super easy!
Want to learn how I do this technique? CLICK HERE for a video I did showcasing a simpler version of this technique! The card design is more basic, but I still do the same technique as shown in today’s card.
Now I know many of you are waiting to see if you were one of the winners from the grand opening blog hop. If you’re one of the two ladies listed below, congratulations! Please contact me with your mailing information and I’ll get your prize pack out right away!
Winner from Amy Tsuruta’s blog- Jenn Shurkus
“I LOVE that lil tree in a jar ;) and I remember that fancy pants line from a few years ago ;) pretty sure i have some in my stash hahha”
Winner from Stacey Schafer’s blog- Kari Webster
“How fun are these bells. Loved how you used them.”
For those who were holding off to place orders, I have a coupon code to share! Whether you are new to the world of sequins, need to replace some colors, or want to add new colors to your stash, my shop has quite a few options. I have both cupped and flat options is nearly every color and there’s also some unique shapes and sizes in there as well.
I know this was a lengthy post, so I’ll wrap it up. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and that you’ll take a peek in the shop. Happy shopping!
I am thrilled that the day has finally arrived….my shop is officially open! Today I am hosting a blog hop in celebration of the shop and I have 10 amazingly talented special guests joining along as well. Each of these gals have such a unique crafting style- something I really want to showcase for this hop. The products in my shop are sparkly and can add a little glitz and glam to any of your crafting projects. Whether you are creating Christmas cards or tags, to shopping for stocking stuffers, to getting items to add to your December Daily pages, my products fit the bill perfectly.
I honestly could have filled up a huge post will all sorts of projects, but I decided to cut back and just share two cards today. After all, there are 10 other stops and I KNOW they are packed with inspiration. I haven’t seen any of the posts yet, so you can be sure I’ll be hopping along with the rest of you gals!
My first card is one that makes my heart skip a beat. I am absolutely in LOVE with all of the bells in my shop and the small ones are so perfect for cards. I’m partial to gold at the moment, so I decided to feature them first. How darling is that wreath with three little bells at the top? *swoon*
It’s super easy to add these bells to your cards and projects. I used some embroidery floss to thread them through and then wrapped them around my twine bow. If you wanted to hold them in place, you could also add a little glue dot or a dab of lacquer, to ensure they stay down.
My next card features five different sequin colors from the shop: Espresso, Marigold, Gold, Pink Peonies and Pumpkin. I wanted the sequins to act as “ornaments” and kept the rest of the card fairly simple. It’s so fun to mix and match and see which sequin colors work together. Granted, my studio look like a sequin tornado hit it, but there couldn’t be a prettier “mess”, in my opinion.
If you’re curious as to what kind of adhesive you can use with sequins, I personally use Crystal Lacquer. It comes with a fine tip that makes adding a dab of adhesive really easy.
I wanted to properly kick-off the grand opening of the shop and I’m so grateful to have 10 of my crafty friends helping with this task. Hop on over to each of these girls blogs, leave comments and you could win one of two prize packs with items from the Pretty Pink Posh shop!
Now it wouldn’t be a complete celebration without some prizes, so I’ve put together a couple prize packs for two lucky winners. You’ll get to try out an array of the Pretty Pink Posh products and all you need to do is leave comments along the blog hop. All comments between now and December 3rd will be entered and I’ll announce the winners on December 5th.
If you like the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page, you can leave one additional comment on this post and I’ll enter you again in the giveaway!
To make this an extra special opening, I’m also doing a grand opening special until December 5, 2013. All orders within the United States over $35 will receive free shipping. For my wonderful international readers, I wanted to do something for you as well, so I’ll be refunding 1/2 of your shipping costs for orders over $35. It’s a win-win-win!
I’ve stocked up the shop and I’ll be getting some more inventory in on Tuesday. I’m going to do my best to keep up with all my inventory, but please remember that I am a super small start-up business, so it may take a little bit of time to grasp the amount of inventory I’ll need in the future. I know that I personally dislike when places are out of stock constantly, so I plan on doing everything I can to make sure my shop stays stocked.
It’s been so exciting to see my childhood dream of owning my own business come to life. Granted, it’s very small and I have no idea how the shop will do, but I am so very grateful for the support I have received thus far and hopefully, I can bring you all sorts of exciting, new products in the future!
Happy hopping and shopping! I can’t wait to start filling your orders! :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends in the States!
While today is generally the day most reflect on their blessings, I have been reflecting on mine daily since the accident. One of the biggest blessings is my amazing readers. Your support, encouragement, comments and everything in between (letters, happy mail, emails…..) are beyond anything I would have expected to receive when I started blogging. I am so very blessed to have each one of you in my life.
Today I wanted to share a card that I created using some Pretty Pink Posh products. One of my absolute favorite items in the shop are the festive Christmas bells. I’ve been using them on quite a few cards- I can’t wait to share them! You can be sure you’ll see them on Sunday for the grand opening blog hop of the shop!
Before I opened the shop, I hadn’t ever tried flat sequins before. I must say, they are a great option if you don’t want to add “bulk” to your card, or you aren’t a fan of the cupped option. It’s been so neat to see the response from the two varieties! Right now, it’s a pretty close race….once the grand opening comes around, I’ll let you know which one ends up being more popular.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, whether it be with family or friends. I’ll be back tomorrow with another sample and some coupon codes to share. See you then!
It’s official, if I wasn’t a sequin addict before, I truly am one now. After taking photos of the different sequins in the Pretty Pink Posh shop and working on samples with them, I am loving every single color and product. Today I wanted to showcase my favorite of the mixes I put together- the Classic Christmas Mix.
I always love coming up with new, unique color palettes, but there are some classics that are just to good to mess with. Red, green and gold are the epitome of Christmas colors (in my mind) and these colors all work together beautifully. I wanted to challenge myself to create something with all of the colors and then I thought of a wreath. PERFECT!
If you watched the November Craft Haul video, you saw that I got the Dainty Bow die. Doesn’t it work perfect with this wreath? I was a tad confused on how to put it together at first, but then I figured it out. I’ll do a video in the near future showing how to put it together, in case you’re like me. This bow is so cute- I have so many fun ideas with it!
Shop update: there are only 5 days until the official grand opening! I’ve received some more products that I’ll be adding to the store and soon my shop will be stocked full again. It’s been such a blessing to get some orders this last week- it’s really helped me get a glimpse of what items will be popular and I’ve been able to order more items. Thank you to all those who have ordered thus far- it truly means the world to me to get your support and also hear how much you like the packaging and products!
As promised, I have the listing of the 10 special guests that will be joining me on Sunday for the celebration. Each of these gals have such a unique style and I am on pins and needles to see how they use their PPP products. I hope that you plan on joining us for the inspiration and I’ll be having a special and giveaways!
I hope that you were inspired by today’s sequin card. Thanks for stopping in!
Have you ever found yourself using a stamp or set in a unconventional way? Today I’ll be sharing a card that fits this description.
My bestie is one of the most creative people and I know. She’s gifted in all the areas I’m not- cooking, sewing, babysitting, piano playing…. on top of that, she’s also good at everything craft related. Now she doesn’t stamp (except when she visits me), but she always has great ideas of what I should try out with my stamps. When I showed her this paisley set, she said I should try creating birds with them. What in the world?! Would this even be possible? Much to my delight, it WAS possible and the results are darling.
It may be a little obvious that I had this card in the archives. The colors are ones I typically use in the summer and one of the rhinestones shifted (I’m guessing because it was under a stack of other cards that have yet to see the blog). I wasn’t kidding when I said I need an assistant…
In closing, I have to share another shop update. I’m bursting with excitement…..and no, it’s not just from all coffee I’ve drank today. The labels that go with the items in my shop finally arrived and today I’ll be receiving the rest of my items. Needless to say, I will be a busy bee this weekend getting things ready, shipping items out to some upcoming special guests and hopefully getting some samples made. I’ll be posting a picture on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter later today with a sneak peek of what will be in the shop!
Thank you to everyone who has shared in my excitement thus far and already promised to purchase from me (even though I haven’t officially confirmed what I’m selling). I feel so blessed and I’m hopeful this little shop will do well so I can bring even more exciting things in the future! :)
Do you remember when doilies were all the rage in paper craft land? What started as something that was classified as “shabby chic” in style quickly drifted and those of us who can’t pull off that style to save their life I tried my hand at incorporating them into my cards. At times I was successful, then there were other times I failed at it completely. While doing a purge of supplies and some cleaning, I came across my stash of doilies and decided to give them a whirl again. I truly do love how they look on cards….when they’re done right.
My card today is fairly simplistic, but it’s hard to make anything fussy when I use the Fresh Cut Florals set and dies. I think they’re so beautiful on their own, I try not to let anything take away from their beauty. I had originally created this card and it didn’t have the doily, but it was lacking something and then voila!
For those new to my site, one of my favorite things to do is use sequins and add rhinestones or pearls on top of it. It’s double the bling without being over the top. SWOON!
As many of you know, I’m prepping for the launch of my shop in these next few weeks. I’m getting the last of the products that will be in the shop opening this week, I just confirmed proofs for my tags and business cards and my packaging stickers just arrived. It’s all so exciting and completely nerve wrecking at the same time! As soon as everything arrives, I’ll be working overtime to get my shop up and running. Eeeek!
That’s going to wrap up this post. If you have guesses as to what will be in my shop, I’d love to hear them. Some of you have (correctly) guessed and then others are very close. Let’s just say I’m starting SMALL and sticking with items that are very ME. *wink*
This last month has flown by and sadly, I wasn’t able to sneak in some of my “regular” features here on the blog. Truth be told, I’ve been working on some a lot of behind-the-scenes things and after weighing my options, I decided these new things took precedence. Little by little things are shaping up and quite honestly, I don’t remember the last time I was this nervous about putting myself out there. I still don’t have a specific date set for when I’ll be making my announcements (since I’m still awaiting some things), but I’ll let you know as soon as I can! In the meantime, if you have guesses as to what I have up my sleeves, I would love to hear!
I wanted to share a bright and happy card today and since the Fanciful Feathers set is back in stock at Ellen Hutson, I thought I’d share this one with you. I’ve been holding out on the feather cards recently, since they were out of stock, but now that they’re back- WATCH OUT! I have a Christmas feather card that I’m particularly fond of….I can’t wait to share that one with you!
Have I mentioned how much I love this Honeycomb Embossing Folder? You can see it on the green cardstock and I love how it adds a subtle mod feel to this otherwise very whimsical card.
I should wrap up this post. Today’s going to be a busy, busy day. I’m working on all sorts of posts for next week (I have a HILARIOUS post coming on Monday!) and also snapping lots of pictures of upcoming projects. Exciting stuff happening here….wish one (or ten!) of you could by my assistants. Oh my, imagine the fun we would have and how much we could accomplish! Sadly, since I only pay in hugs and Starbucks, that might eliminate a lot of my help. *wink*
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! I’ll see you on some of my social media sites later today!
It’s not often that I’ll pop in on the weekend, but since I have been busy creating and not blogging these last few days, I thought I’d surprise you and share an autumn card I created recently. Now if you follow the DeNami blog, this card will look familiar since I shared it there a couple weeks ago. These leaves have captured my heart and I’ve been using them on all sorts of projects (one of them should be making an appearance here soon). I love how versatile they are and really, you can’t go wrong with pretty solid leaves!
If you’re curious on how I created this card, I actually did a coordinating video for the DeNami YouTube channel. Yes, I do videos there, too!
If you follow me on my various social media sites, you saw that I finished filming my October haul video. I confess, right afterwards, I did some shopping, so I’ll be re-filming later on today. I’m hoping to have it edited and uploaded soon and I also have plans to film another video!
That’s going to wrap up this post. Just a quick reminder, TODAY is the last day to enter the 10 Minute Craft Dash #28– hurry and get your entries submitted!
Have a great weekend, I’ll chat with you all soon!
For those who follow me on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page, Twitter or Instagram, you have been waiting anxiously for today’s post. I gave you the opportunity to voice your requests and today’s post and video is the result. Thank you to everyone who shared their comments and also left such sweet words about my videos!
With the changing of seasons, I’m starting to transition the cards I’m sending out to fit the autumn months. The biggest change is resisting the urge to add pinks to my cards and in lieu use more orange and neutral tones. Not to worry though, I will still be bringing the bright colors out occasionally these next few months!
If you watched my latest haul video, you saw that I purchased the Avery Elle Laurels set and coordinating dies. I was smitten with this set the moment I saw it and decided that these branches would be perfect to create a wreath! My first attempt was this aqua/ red combination…. how yummy is that aqua with the bright red? I seriously love this color combination for Christmas. Just warning those who follow my blog, you’ll definitely be seeing these colors on the blog in the coming months….
After creating the aqua/ red combination, I thought I create a more autumn colored card. I swapped out the red for a soft orange and the aqua ribbon for an orange one. These slight changes change the feel of the card and yet has the exact same layout and stamps. Once you get going, the different color choices are endless!
Okay, now it’s time for the video. Feel free to watch it in this post, or you can head on over to the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube page and watch this video, along with my other ones!
If you give this card design a try, I would love to see it. Feel free to leave me a link with your blog link here, or you can tweet me @prettypinkposh or even leave a picture on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page! Seeing how you’re inspired by my cards and videos seriously warms my heart and makes me want to make more for you.
So now the question is: what kind of video would you like to see next?
