Embellish Ribbons Color Challenge

Hi-ya friends!

Today I have a card based off the Embellish Ribbons Color Challenge. I must admit, I had no clue what to do when I saw that the card needed to have turquoise. I don’t have any papers or ink pads that fit that color….thankfully I have some fun, turquoise buttons! I think I have buttons in every single color. :D

I have another card for the Embellish challenge that I’ll post in the next couple of days. {That picture also turned out horribly.} I hope that you’ll participate in the challenge this week. It’ll most likely stretch you and have you think outside the “box”. Can’t wait to see what you create!

Stamps: Dots Background, Baby Button Bits
Paper: White, Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Tea Dye Duo, Sweet Blush
Other: Chocolate Brown grosgrain ribbon, turquoise button, corner rounder

Birthday Wishes

Wow, when was the last time I did two posts in a day? It seems like it has been forever! I wasn’t planning on doing another post, but then I *had* to stop by Nichole’s blog before I “closed shop” for the night. {I’ve been stamping ever since dinner…just couldn’t stop!} Oh goodness, have you seen all the fun happenings that are going on over there?! Right now they are celebrating their 3rd birthday, so there are lots of exciting things going on.

Nichole put out a challenge to use one of the printed designs that a PTI DT member created. I had trouble choosing an image but finally decided on this great design from Melissa Bickford. With my dad’s birthday a week ago {gasp!}, I still needed to give him a card. I have a large stack of cards at my disposal, just not any masculine cards. I really need to build up this stash…I had being late with cards and also stressing about making them!

You may remember this card design from a while ago. I had trouble deciding on a concept and remembered this fun one. If you follow my blog, you know that I sometimes recycle my card ideas. I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with that…. ;) I think this card turned out fairly well, considering that I’m not super comfortable making “guy” cards.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Decorated Candy Bars

Greetings!

Today I don’t have a card for you…. I have a project! While I was working at the DeNami Design booth, I saw Nami {owner/ designer} create decorated candy bar wrappers. I thought they were the cutest idea ever, so I had to gift it a whirl. DeNami carries these fab clear boxes that fit 4 candy bars perfectly. I made these with Valentine’s Day in mind, but you could easy decorate them for any occasion {birthday, baby, graduation, thank you}. This whole project took a grand total of 20 minutes, but that’s only because I was trying to decide which stamps to use! Once you get going, you can whip a bunch of these out easily.

No gym for me today. I went six times last week and can tell my body is in need of a little break. However, if it weren’t for that and the gym being so busy on Monday’s, I would SO be there! I think watching The Biggest Loser has really pushed me to really dedicate myself to exercising. Oh yes, and I’m starting to see some results which motivates me even more. ;) Anyone else on the journey to losing weight? I’d love to hear what you’re doing and hear about your progress! I know it helps to have “cheerleaders” on your side…

Hope you all have a fab Monday!

Stamps: Mini Heart, Decorated Love, Rosebud Trio, Decorative Flourish
Paper: White, Mint Green
Ink: Onyx Black, Aloe Vera, Opaque Cotton White
Other: Hot Pink grosgrain ribbon, Sheer Black ribbon, Clear Boutique Box, candy bars

Pastel Cupcake

Hello friends!

Wow, I totally slept in today. When I looked at the clock it was 10:56! I think the crazy CHA weekend and jumping back into work finally caught up to me. :) Thankfully today will be a very relaxing day. I’m taking my little sister to a movie and dinner for her birthday{18, baby!}. Where has the time gone?! I am so very blessed to have her as my sister. She is always making me laugh, she is absolutely gorgeous {which I’m jealous of}, she is super talented in cooking and baking, and she has an awesome relationship with the Lord. I’ll make sure I take some pics with her so you can see how beautiful she is!

In my last post, I featured the fabulous set by Court Baker. Well, like I mentioned in that post, I just LOVE the argyle stamps from that set. Just to forewarn you, I will be using that stamp a ton in the future…I’d really encourage you to get that set. It’s only $13 and the possibilities are endless.

As you’ll notice, this card isn’t exactly *my* style. However, I am totally in love with it. I love the pretty background and of course, that sparkly cupcake! I must admit, I was craving a cupcake after I stamped this card. Don’t worry….I was good and stuck to my diet! I still have 15 pounds to go before I hit my ideal weight. It’s a slow process but it’s so great to see results from my hard work. :)

Since it’s so late, I suppose I should get ready for the day. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Hope you were inspired!

Stamps: Keys to My Heart, Teeny Heart, Baby Button Bits, Vintage Labels
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Sweet Blush, Tea Dye Duo

Welcome Little Baby

Yippee, it’s Thursday!! 8 hours of work and then I’m DONE for the week! Even though I have lots of plans this weekend, I’m hoping I can sneak in at least one nap. Goodness know that my body and brain need it!

Like I mentioned in my “meeting new friends” post, I was able to meet the fabulous Courtney Baker. I still can’t get over how sweet and cute that girlie is! Anyhow, I was able to pick up her amazing stamp set, which is a SUPER fun set. I am utterly in love with the argyle stamps from this set- I made three cards featuring them! {I would have made more but my bed was calling to me.}

For this card, I paired up three different stamp companies- DeNami Design, Papertrey Ink and Practicing Creativity Designs. I love it when you can pair up different companies to complete a card. :) As you’ll notice, I’m starting to work on my stash of baby cards….not an easy occasion for me to do! I always seem to have the hardest time making wedding and baby cards, don’t know why they are so difficult for me. However, with the new Baby Button Bits set, I’m thinking that I wouldn’t have *as* hard of a time.

I hope you all have a fab Thursday! My agenda for today: work, gym and CRAFT! Woohoo!

Stamps: Key to My Heart, Teeny Star, Baby Button Bits
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Bitty Dots Basics
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Spring Moss, Tea Dye Duo

Funky Flowers

Good afternoon!

Am I ever glad that today is Wednesday! I have made it to the middle of the week and I’m still alive! With the whirlwind CHA weekend and then jumping back into work, I didn’t think I would make it! Yesterday I forced myself to get off work early- I could tell my brain needed a break and my boss was more than happy to let me leave early. I had some “me” time, which was much needed. {got my nails done, went to the gym, browsed blogs and crafted}

While I was gone this past weekend, I received my Papertrey order. :) I replenished my cardstock supply, got a few new ribbons, replaced my Tea Dye Duos and got two stamp sets. Before I continue, can I just say that I have bought FOUR Tea Dye Duos so far? I LOVE these things! {I’m sure you could tell from my cards!} There are some cards where I like the “white” space, but there are others where the duos add a perfect touch.

Okay, now onto the card….I opened my new Baby Button Bits stamp set, which is super cute. I have only played with the flower so far, but I’m dying to play around with the other designs. I know at least 6 people expecting little ones, so I just HAD to get this set. As you’ll notice, I didn’t add buttons to the flowers- thought that would be a tad bit too much for this card. ;) I strayed a little bit from my “style” but still love how this card turned out. What are your thoughts?

You all are so sweet for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Stamps: Signature Greetings, Baby Button Bits
Paper: White, Smokey Shadow
Ink: Onyx Black
Other: New Leaf grosgrain ribbon, button, corner rounder, Tombow markers

Papertrey January Blog Hop

Happy Monday, dear friends!

Today was my first day back at work since returning from CHA. Oh goodness, my body & brain are so exhausted! Even though I went to bed early, my body is still feeling the effects of being on the go. If you didn’t get a chance, be sure to take a peek at the pics I took with some blogging regulars {aka Ashley Cannon Newell, Kelly Marie Alvarez, Maile Belles}.

Moving on to the card at hand…..this month’s challenge at Papertrey was to create a complete package card {ie front of card, inside of card and envie}. I rarely take the time to do everything on a card, however I’m thinking I should do this for some special people. I love the look of how everything matches!
I decided that I don’t use Ocean Tides as much as I should. This color is so elegant and is great for a masculine card. I pulled out the elegant Decorative Crest Circle from DeNami Design and Turning A New Leaf from PaperTrey Ink for this card. Don’t they go well together? Here is the decorated envie that I made to match the card. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out! Isn’t it fun to make everything coordinate? I’ll post more like this in the future, keep checking back! ;)
Here’s the final picture of the envie and card together. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you were inspired by today’s post!

Stamps: Hello Friend, Decorative Crest Circle, Turning A New Leaf, Dots Background
Paper: Cream, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Fresh Snow, Ocean Tides
Other: Marvy 2½” scallop circle punch, Marvy 3″ scallop circle punch, corner rounder

Meeting New Friends

Hello friends! I’m now writing to you from rainy Washington. Yes, it has decided to start pouring…I’m so bummed to have missed all the nice weather! However, it was worth it since I got to meet SO many of my favorite craft bloggers/ Twitter peeps. Today I have a ton of pics of the peeps I met at the CHA SuperShow- some of these people I would have never dreamed of meeting! So without further ado, let’s get started…..

First off, here’s the pic that I took with the amazing Taylor VanBruggen. Let me tell ya, this girlie is TALL and SO sweet! Since I was actually working at the show, I was able to talk with her for a few minutes before all the attendees walked {er, ran} into the show. Taylor’s booth was adorable, just like her online store and blog.

This next picture is with the ever so adorable Kelly Marie! Can I just say that I think Kelly is one of the sweetest people alive and also has the best smile in the world?! This girl is so slender- I felt like such a fatty next to her! I have loved getting to know Kelly through her blog and also Twitter. Even though we didn’t get to talk for very long, I had such a great time with her and hope to be able to see her again!

Next up….Ashley Cannon Newell! What a pleasant surprise to see Kelly and then see Ashley standing next to her! OH. MY. WORD. This girl has the most beautiful complexion and impeccable style! Meeting Ashley was like meeting a celebrity!

This next girlie really doesn’t need any introduction….Maile Belles. If you follow crafting blogs, you are sure to have stumbled across Maile’s blog. She is a designer at the Embellish Magazine, is very active in the blogging world and you are almost guaranteed to see her card in Dawn’s top picks. :) I was so surprised to be cashiering at the DeNami booth and look up to see Maile! I’m sure I sounded like a fool asking her to pronounce her name and then asking for a picture with her. Oh well….I may never get the chance to do this again!

Here is the pic with Ashley Newell and I. While I was cashiering at the DeNami booth, I came across a customer who asked me if I was Paulina. Hesitantly I said yes…I had no idea who this was. Next thing I know, I’m introducing myself to Ashley! I always see her Twitter pic where she is wearing glasses….it totally threw me off when she wasn’t wearing them! :) Yes, I visit her blog and her picture is on there, but I usually just look at the CONTENT, not her picture! LOL

This next picture is with the amazing Court Baker! Can I just say that Courtney has the cutest accent ever?? This girlie was so sweet, I wish I could spend a whole day with her! I was able to see her the two days of the CHA Supershow- I’m so glad I had that opportunity. I actually took two pics with her, but the first one I looked HORRIBLE. I wish I was photogenic like her….

Here is the picture that I took with Tiffany Guam {aka iheartart}. I must admit that once I met Tiffany, my head was spinning from meeting so many of my blog friends! My fellow Asian blog friend is so cute in person- very bubbly and stinkin’ adorable!

And last but certainly not least, I got to meet one of my favorite Twitter peeps- Lisa! I don’t remember exactly how I crossed paths with Lisa….I’m just so glad that I did! She is a total sweetheart and always makes me laugh. I almost didn’t get to meet her- thankfully I gave her my number and she called me up before she left! After I met Lisa, I felt like my weekend was complete. :) I met just about everyone I wanted to meet and also ran into some others that I wouldn’t have dreamed of meeting!

I had such a great weekend. Tomorrow it’s back to reality….I hope I can make it through this week. I had a super busy weekend so I’m hoping my body {and brain} can handle another week.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll have some more pics of CHA soon!

New Little Bundle

Hello friends!

I’m sorry it’s been a little while since I have posted. In between the craziness of setting up for CHA and then the first day of the show, I have been way too tired to post anything. Yesterday I was able to meet some of my favorite blog peeps! I met Kelly Marie, Ashley Cannon Newell and Courtney Baker! Oh goodness, these girlies are gorgeous and ever so sweet! I took some pics but I look HORRIBLE in them….hopefully I’ll get some better ones today.

Today’s card features the Small Solid Button again. I told you, I LOVE this stamp! It’s so easy to make some fun decorative paper! I have a lot of friends who are expecting, so I thought I would get started on making some cute baby cards. This card is super simple but I think it’s adorable. What are your thoughts?

It’s time to scoot. Gotta get ready to work my tail off and meet some more of my blogging friends! :) Thanks for stopping by- hope you were inspired!

Grateful For You

Greetings from Anaheim, California! Goodness gracious, this weather is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S! We drove by several cars hydroplaning and unreal amounts of water on the road. It was raining crazy amounts while we drove to the hotel. Thankfully I didn’t have to drive- I was able to sneak in a small nap. :)

Today has been a super long day. I woke up at 4AM since we had to leave our house at 4:45 to head to the airport. Thankfully getting through security was a breeze and it was quiet at the airport- guess no one travels that early. Because of the crazy weather in Cali, the flights were quite bumpy. Both my dad and friend got a little sick…thankfully we landed before anything bad happened!

After I played around with purple in this card, I decided that I should give it another try. I must admit, I really like how this card turned out. It’s simple yet very elegant, my kind of card. :)

I’ll be back in the next few days with pics from CHA. If you aren’t able to attend, you’ll want to check back. I’m hoping to meet lots of my blog friends- hopefully I’ll get some pics together with them!
