Copics

Hello everyone!
I have another quick & easy card to share with you. (Seems like there have been a lot of these recently!) For this card I used my Spellbinders Labels Four dies to create the “tag” part of the card. I was aiming to have the beautiful shape come through, but I then opted to do a huge bow. You should have seen me go back and forth on this decision!
Speaking of decisions….right now I’m facing a huge one….should I take the plunge a buy Copics? LOL Bet you weren’t expecting that one! After seeing so many beautiful creations using them, I think I might be jumping on the bandwagon. I tried narrowing down the colors I really want but I still somehow ended up with 25. Yikes! I most likely will be getting them- unless someone can convince me otherwise!
I know this is a super short post but I gotta get ready for work. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Copics!
Have a great one! Thanks for stopping by!

Feel Better

Hi sweet friends!

Thanks for your comments on my March Ramblings. You were able to see a small snapshot at how random I can be, along with some useless facts about me! I honestly think I could do those types of posts daily! However, I will spare you and only make them a monthly occurrence. :)

Recently my friend, Cindy, asked the question “What’s your style?” You know how there are certain people who have a distinct style? Such as my talented friends Sarah Martina, Ashley Cannon Newell and Kelly Marie. When I flip through a magazine, I can easily spot their cards. Cindy’s question got me thinking….what’s my style? I honestly don’t know how I would describe it. This past year I have evolved as a cardmaker and I can’t pinpoint the words to describe my cards anymore! If you had to describe my style in three words, what would they be?

Today’s card is very basic, which I think is nice for a “get well” or “sympathy” card. Amazingly enough, I could give this one to a guy and he wouldn’t laugh that it was too girly! (Have I mentioned how I have a hard time creating masculine cards?)

Have a great Monday! Can’t wait to hear how you describe my card style! ;)

March Ramblings

Hey there!
Today I thought I’d take a break from posting a card and share some thoughts, ramblings and random information about me in the form of a list. :)
  • I truly appreciate loyal, caring friends who stick with you when things get tough. Anyone can be a fair-weathered friend- very few actually end up being a true friend.
  • I am still in awe that people actually read my blog.
  • Card making is an expensive hobby and sometimes I wonder why I spend so much on it.
  • I have aspirations of visiting Paris but I have yet to get my passport application.
  • Putting laundry away is what I consider a waste of time. It seems like I always do it but more magically appears every few days.
  • I find it quite funny that I used to despise the word gym but now I say and frequent it often.
  • I could probably have my own entertainment website with how much useless celebrity news I have in this brain of mine.
  • Target is the best store ever.
  • I might be a concert junkie. Two concerts in 5 days= awesome!
  • Losing weight might possibly be the hardest thing ever.
  • Watching my friends get married is making me want to be in a relationship.
  • I spend a little too much time browsing the internet. I could never live in the “olden” times.
  • Coach purses are a weakness for me. I also love LV but they are entirely too expensive.
  • Braces are only good if you remember to wear a retainer afterwards. Really wish I listened to my mom and orthodontist! Stupid crooked teeth. :(
  • Netflix and I go together like ham and cheese.
  • Anything peanut related will cause me to die. (No, I’m not exaggerating.)
Yup, told you it was going to be random! Let me know if you enjoyed reading this- it might be a monthly occurrence!
I’d love to see YOUR random list. If you post one, be sure to leave me a comment so I can check it out! :)
Hugs to you all! Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Taylors Sketch Challenge #106

Hey there, friends!
Today I have a Spring card to share. In my effort to go outside my comfort zone, I colored these dahlias yellow. After seeing the end result, I really wish I went for pink or aqua. :( Lately I have been fighting myself on whether I should buy a couple Copics. When I use images like these, it would be so nice to do a little more shading and have a bigger variety of colors. On the flip side, do I really want to spend more money on crafty items?? Decisions, decisions….
This card was based of Taylor’s Sketch Challenge #106. Be sure to check out the fun cards her DT created!
Gotta keep this post short. Have a training session soon so I need to get going. Seriously, who schedules a personal trainer at 9:30 AM? Oh, that’s right, I do. ;)
Have a great Saturday!!

Embellish Stitching Color Challenge

Happy Friday!
Boy am I glad that the weekend is here. Last night I went to a rockin’ concert and of course didn’t get home til late. I woke up this morning and my body wasn’t feeling the greatest. Don’t feel sick, just really sore and stuffed up from my allergies. :( The other day I did the stair step machine at the gym…wanna guess how many floors I stepped? 200! Wish I could have gotten a pic of that huge number!
Since I didn’t have any plans today, I thought I’d try my hand at the Embellish challenge. Oh goodness, this one was right up my alley! Do you recognize the colors? Yup, I used them in my March Papertrey Blog Hop post! Guess Ashley and I were on the same wave link. The challenge wasn’t completely a walk in the park though. It also called for stitching- faux or real. I was just going to use some stitched stamps but thought that would be too easy. ;) I was then going to try sewing on a card but figured it would take too long to learn. I ended up using my paper piercer and threaded some twine onto the card.
Did you notice anything else familiar about this card? I used the sketch I designed over at the DeNami Design blog! Really, really happy with the way this card turned out! Don’t you love it when that happens? You may think that all of my cards turn out nicely, but believe me, that is far from the case. I regularly let my family members have my “rejects”….I’m embarrassed at how many end up in that pile.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fab weekend!

Papertrey March Blog Hop

Hello ladies and gents!
It’s the 25th which can only mean one thing- Blog Hop over at Papertrey! For this month, the challenge was to use buttons on our projects. Well, you know that wasn’t hard for me- I have a million buttons and I love using them! :)
For this card I wanted to go with a fresh pastel color scheme. I recently paired up Aqua Mist and Sweet Blush together and LOVED the results so much that I had to do it again. (The original card in this color combo will be posted in the next few days!) I’m so loving my Beautiful Blooms II- especially since I bought one set of dies to go along with it! I’m now trying to decide die I want to get next! Any suggestions?
I’m looking forward to seeing your creations! Hope my card inspired you!

Sparkly Dahlia

Hey there!
We have made it to Wednesday! Super excited, one more day til my weekend begins! Tomorrow I’m getting off work early to go to a concert. Yup, another one! :) This one has SEVEN groups and it’s only $10! SCORE! What a great way to kick of the weekend!
Today I’m bringing you my first Mother’s Day card of the year. Hope you aren’t sick of seeing Delightful Dahlia- I just can’t get enough! This time around I went with shades of pink and then added some sparkly extra fine glitter. In person it looks stunning! Have I told you how I have a love/ hate relationship with glitter? I absolutely love the look and how it completes a card- hate how I always end up with lots of it on my face! LOL
Well it’s time for this girl to head to bed. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Congratulations

Hi blog friends!
Yup, I’m posting another card using Melon Berry! :) I don’t know why I waited so long to buy this color! I’m really liking how different it is and the endless color combinations you can use with it. This color combo is a lot more muted and subtle than my usual cards, but I love it!
I recently went to my LSS and bought this amazing satin ribbon. Isn’t it utterly delicious? I don’t own any other ribbons in this width so this is a big change for me. Have you noticed that I’m going outside my “comfort zone” and trying new things? I even broke out a new (to me) stamp for this one! I think she’s a super cute pregnant woman. :)
Thanks to those who left me comments on my last post. I *do* like to post regularly, but I didn’t know if you all like that. I know that I love it when my favorite bloggers post, but I wanted to make sure you all actually like hearing from me.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Delightful Dahlia

Sunday greetings!
I just returned from church, which was awesome. I went to the dedication service for a local service and they brought in Matthew West and John K. Jenkins Sr. It was quite a service. Tonight Matthew will be having a concert- yippee! I’ve had the privilege of seeing him in concert twice before and afterwards got to do some pics and talk with him. A great guy who is really down to earth and truly loves the Lord. Super stoked that he came back to Washington!
Today I have a cheery card featuring one of the brand new PTI stamp sets. I just got my order which was FILLED with lots of fun stuff. I bought three colors of felt so I’m going to have to try those out in the near future. :) Have you ever used felt on a card? I’m a little scared but also excited since I’ve seen some cute creations using it. This card screams fresh to me. Love the aqua mist and spring moss together!
I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Love seeing those of you who have done my sketch at the DeNami Design blog. Can’t wait to see more!

DeNami Sketch Challenge- #1

Hey there!
I’m super excited to say that I designed my first sketch over at the DeNami Design blog! In case you missed the news, they are hosting two challenges a month- one on the 5th, the other on the 20th. They will range from color challenges to sketches, themes or certain products. Oh yes, and let’s not forget there are fabulous prizes each time too! This time around they have an assortment of stamps and some amazing glitters- it values at over $50! So easy to play along too…all you need to do is create a card based off the sketch and use at least one DeNami stamp!
For this card I decided to go outside my comfort zone and use just black, red and white. Rarely will you see a card from me without some sort of pink, green or aqua on it. However, lately I have been trying to “expand my horizons” and test my creativity. Did you notice the shiny ladybugs? I used Crystal Lacquer which dries to be raised and shiny. I don’t use it often since I’m impatient for it to dry, but there are some times where it really completes a card.
I would love to see you play along with my sketch! I purposely designed it to be super simple so there aren’t any excuses not to play! ;) Get stamping, friends! There are 10 days to play and you can enter more than one card (just be sure to create them in separate blog posts!).
