Whimsy Flowers

Hello!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend! I was so happy that it was sunny and semi-warm! I actually got outside and walked with my sister- a fairly rare occurrence! With my allergies and the pesky dogs around, I don’t like to venture out too much. However, since it was so beautiful, I just couldn’t help myself. :)
Well, I’ve been at it again…been making my own patterned paper. I just can’t help myself! There is something therapeutic about coloring- I just love it. I can’t wait to color when I get my Copics tomorrow! *happy dance* I know there is definitely going to be a learning curve- don’t expect any Copic projects in the near future!
I have gotten a request for a tutorial on how I do my coloring, so I’ll try to tackle that in the near future. I brought out the video camera for the very first time but couldn’t figure out how to do the power cord! (By now you must know that I can be ditzy sometimes) Once I figure that out and how to do my set-up, I’ll be filming a couple tutorials. I’m very camera shy, so you should all be warned! :)
Thanks for stopping by and for all the sweet comments recently. LOVE reading them!

Plaid Tree

As promised, I’m back with a new card. I couldn’t resist breaking out my Critters from the ‘Burbs stamp set again- I’m so in love with this tree! This time around I decided I’d do a pink plaid/ rhinestone tree. Isn’t it cute?! I got a bunch of Eskimo Kisses paper around Christmas but never got around to using it that much. Since I’m *trying* to go through some of my overlooked items, I decided I would bring it out again. :)
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? Mine is pretty low-key, which I’m super happy about. Got some stamping planned and I have a movie date with a girlfriend. Yay for girl time! The older I get the more effort it is to purposely plan to get together with friends. I don’t know how my days get full so quickly! I think I just have too many interests/ hobbies….
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

I’m On Cue!

Hey there, girlies!
Just wanted to share some exciting news….Dawn recently began hosting these awesome color challenges. I know I’ve said it before but I just love this girl. She is so incredibly talented and her stamp line is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Anyhow, she just announced the seven who were “On Cue” with the colors and I made the list! Not only that, I made her website! (Spotlight on the graphic slider!)
When I found out the news I squealed in delight. Such an honor and a huge privilege! Thank you so much, Dawn!
Thanks for sharing in my joy. Had to share the news and what better people than my crafty friends! :) I’ll be back a little later with a new card….

Embellish Parties Color Challenge

It’s that time again- time for a new Embellish Color Challenge! This time I’m excited (and proud) to announce that DeNami Design is sponsoring this week’s challenge. You all know that I’m a HUGE Embellish fan- love everything that Ashley does on that site!
For this challenge, we were to use red, white, black and kraft along with the theme of parties. This can be graduation, birthday, baby, etc…. These colors really struck me as elegant so I decided to use the Decorative Crest stamp. One think I love about this particular image- you can easily color it in and/ or add glitter to make it even more special. For this card I used the amazing Ruby Red glitter. Love this stuff! Oh yes, and did you see the Black grosgrain ribbon? You can get 50 yards for only $16! Yup, I have it in every color. :)
I hope that you’ll take some time to particiate in this challenge. If you’re feeling even more ambitious, feel free to use a DeNami image along with a button, and enter it in the DeNami Button Challenge! You could win a $30 gift certificate along with a spot on the Fabulous 3 Spotlight!
Thanks for stopping by, girlies! Hope you were inspired!

Leafy Swirls

Thanks goodness it’s Thursday! This week has been super long. Today was filled with lots of unpleasant shopping cart troubles at work and then on top of that, my computer was acting up. I’m a firm believer that things should work right…all the time. :) I was so happy to leave for the weekend knowing that almost everything got fixed!
Some of you visit the DeNami blog, so you have already seen this. However, quite a few of my “regulars” haven’t. ;) I am so in love with this color combination and those swirls! This is such an easy card to whip up and you can easily switch it out for other sentiments in the Assorted Greeting stamp set. (One of my favorites!)
I’ll back back tomorrow with a new card- super excited about this one! Let’s just say it’s bringing two of my favorite sites together. *wink wink*

Rhinestone Flowers

Happy Wednesday!
Today I have a bright & cheery Spring card to share. I actually made this one a few weeks back but never got around to posting it. Seriously, I have a ton of cards you all have never seen (and some you will never see!). There are those (who shall remain nameless) who call me a card snob. In other words, I’m super picky about what I post to my blog and the DeNami Design blog. If the color is atrocious or the card isn’t made well, I won’t post it! :)
This week my little brothers are attending a kids track camp. Oh my word, so cute seeing these little kids running around the track and doing their little stretches! Today they did hurdles, which was a sight to see. I just love seeing my little brothers have a good time- can’t beat that they are exercising at the same time!
It looks like I’ll be attending the Colorado Springs stamp show in August. I’m so excited to meet Laura Davis and Michele Gross– some of my favorite blog and Twitter friends! If you’re in the area, I’d love for you to stop by (and let me know with a comment!).
Have a great rest of the day! Hope you were inspired!

Egg Decorating

Happy day after Easter! As you know, this year was my very first time decorating Easter eggs. Yes, I had gone 22 years without doing this. It was super fun, especially since I did it with some awesome friends. :)
There were a total of six different color dyes: pink, green, purple, blue, red and yellow. I was super bummed that the pink wasn’t a good pink. :( The blue, red, green and yellow dyed very evenly but the purple and pink ended up splotchy somehow.
Here is my sister (and Ginny!) measuring the vinegar and water for the dye. Oh my word, that night I couldn’t read or follow instructions. Thank goodness my sister is good at that type of stuff!
A glance at some of the eggs. I *tried* doing polka dots but they didn’t turn out very well. I had originally planned on doing close ups of my eggs, but they were very far from perfect. Next year I’m going to do a little research before I attempt decorating again…..
Do you see that funny looking egg? Yup, I did that one! The egg kit had these funny eyes, hair and mouths so I had to do a funny one. Definitely far from pretty, pink or posh! LOL
Did you dye eggs this year? If so, I’d love to see your pics! Just leave a comment and I’ll make my way over to your blog! :)

Sweet Cupcakes

Happy Monday to you!
Today I’m excited to bring this yummy cupcake card to the blog. This card is one of many that will be featured at CHA. If you’re able to visit the booth, be sure to bring a camera!
If you’ve stopped by the DeNami blog, you’ll notice there is a new challenge up! Yippee! I just love being a part of this design team- there are so many great gals and I just love working with them! For this challenge, we were to use buttons. If you know me at all, you know this isn’t a hard thing for me to do. :) In fact, it’s more of a challenge NOT to use them! Instead of using the button as a focal point, I decided to use it as an accent. I just love how a single button can really complete a bow!
I hope you’ll play along with this challenge- it’s definitely a fun one and there’s sure to be lots of exciting entries!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Apple Tree

Hi there!
I know it’s only been two days since I posted, but it feels like forever! Yesterday was a super busy day for me. I went to a movie with the sis, had a personal training session, lunch with my dad and sister and then went to an egg decorating party. I’ll be posting pics soon- just need to edit! :) Last night, er morning, I got back around 2 AM. I don’t remember the last time I stayed out that late! I’m such an oldie- being out past 10 is a rare occasion.
Today I got my first sets from Lawn Fawn. This company is owned by my sweet friend, Kelly Marie. (Super excited that I get to see her again in July!) The sets I got this time around were Critters in the ‘burbs and Sew Lovely. For this card I decided to play with the Critters in the ‘burbs set- such a fun one! It’s a lot more “cutesy” than I normally do, but I had so much fun going outside my norm. After I finished the card I decided it needed something more so I added the “apples”. I thought it was a cute idea. ;)
In the past three days I have created approximately 20 cards. Yup, I’ve been a busy one. Almost all of the cards/ projects have been for the CHA display, which has been a ton of fun to work on. One of the cards I’ll show on Monday for the new DeNami challenge, so be sure to check back then!
That’s all for tonight. I’m off to a party- yes, another one! Have a great night!

Bright & Fabulous

Can I start off by saying you all are awesome? Thanks for the tips and suggestions regarding my Copic marker post! I think I will be getting a few (okay, a tad bit more than that) in the next few weeks. You can be sure I’ll post a picture! :)
In other news, I have taken off my acrylic nails! It’s definitely a bittersweet thing. I will be saving over $600 a year, which is definitely a good thing. However, I will miss not having pretty nails! Hopefully I can break my dreadful habit of biting my nails… Anyone have tips on this??
Today’s card is bright and well, fabulous! I wanted to play with some fun colors and came up with this color combo. Isn’t it cheery? I love it so much and know I’ll be playing with it some more! Speaking of cheery color combos, I have been super busy creating new cards for DeNami Design which will be on display at the CHA SuperShow. I am having SO much fun and can’t wait to show some of them to you! If you’re going to the show, you’ll want to bring your camera. There will be loads of new samples that you’re sure to love!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were inspired!
