Two Spring Butterfly Cards + Video

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears on the blog today. I’m going to be using the Stitched Butterflies dies from the newest release to make two cards. I knew I wanted my butterflies to have more than one color on their wings so a great way to achieve that look is to do some ink-blending.

If you would like to see how I made my cards, watch my video below or on YouTube.

First, I die cut the Stitched Butterflies with Scrapbook.com Mixed Media White Smooth Cardstock. The smooth white cardstock, coupled with the Ranger Distress Oxide inks, made the ink-blending so effortless. The smooth and creamy texture of Distress Oxide ink allows for seamless blending, creating a beautiful gradient from one color to the next one.

The Distress Oxide inks I used for the butterflies in my first card include:

Top Butterfly: Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade
Middle Butterfly: Kitsch Flamingo and Squeezed Lemonade
Bottom Butterfly: Shaded Lilac and Kitsch Flamingo

I used the Layered Butterfly Floral Stencil for the background of my card. This stencil has a mix of butterflies and flowers which I inked in several different spring color Distress Oxide inks including Shaded Lilac, Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Saltwater Taffy, Cracked Pistachio, and Tumbled Glass. I even ink-blended two colors of ink for the butterflies in the stencil using a very detailed ink blending brush to get into the small areas of the stencil.

I added the sentiment “Happy Spring” from the Sentiment Strips: Easter stamp set and die cut it with the coordinating dies.

For my next card, I used the Pierced Leafy Vines Plate for my card background. I die cut it with Scrapbook.com Mixed Media White Smooth Cardstock and added the following Distress Oxide inks: Saltwater Taffy, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, and Tumbled Glass.

I added an Eyelet Rectangle die to the top and then added two ink-blended butterflies. I topped it off with a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips: Easter stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Simple Birthday Card

Hello, Gemma here today to share a clean and simple birthday card, featuring some older and newer products.

I love the look of pearl white on white, whether it be embossing powder or glacier paste. This is a fun way to add interest and texture to a background, whilst keeping the background subtle.

Pretty Pink Posh: Simple Birthday Card

I used the new Birthday Words stencil with some Winter White Nuvo glacier paste on top of white card. I left this to dry whilst I worked on the rest of my card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Simple Birthday Card

I stamped a cupcake from the Birthday Cupcakes stamp set, coloured with copic markers, and die cut with the coordinating die. I added some extra texture and sparkle with a glaze pen, Nuvo Crystal glaze and fine glitter.

Copic colours:
B91, 52, 34
RV00, 52, 55
B000, 00, 01
Y00, 11, 13, 17, 35

Once dry, I cut the stencilled panel down to 2.5” by 3.5” and adhered it to a mini slimline card. I’ll keep the rest of the panel for another project.

Pretty Pink Posh: Simple Birthday Card

Above this, I adhered a panel of white card cut to 3.5” square. To hide the gap between the panels, I adhered two strips of card – pink and pearl white – cut with the Stitched Strips set.

For some interest behind the cupcake, I die cut frames using two coordinating dies from the Crafty Days stamp set. The bottom layer is pearl white card, then I cut a top layer frame from white sparkle card, with the centre cut out.

Pretty Pink Posh: Simple Birthday Card

I adhered the base layer frame directly on the card, then the glitter frame on top with foam tape. Finally, I added the cupcake with foam tape to finish.

I hope this card inspired you. Thank you for stopping by!

Spring Daisies

Hi everyone, it’s June again and today I’m sharing this fun spring card with you all!

You know those products that when you see them, you instantly get an idea on how to use them? That’s what happened with the Daisies stamp set for me. They just looked like they wanted to be inside a vase of some kind, so I pulled out a set from last year’s autumn release called Fall Jar and used the jar as a vase. I stamped it in blue Copic friendly ink to make it look more like glass. I also used grey ink to stamp the flower stems inside of the jar so they look a bit ‘blurry’ as if they’re inside of water and behind the glass. I used black ink for all of my main stamps, but I decided to use even more colors and scattered around some flowers stamped in brown ink. These are from the Citrus stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisies

I blended an ombre background using Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide. I used the new Layered Butterfly Lattice stencils on top of it using a darker shade of green. After that, I cut out my panel using the largest of the Stitched Torn Rectangle Dies.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisies

For my sentiment, I cut the new Spring Script out of turquoise cardstock to introduce a pop of color and I stamped ‘wishes’ from Sentiment Strips: Easter to complete it.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisies

I hope you enjoyed reading about my card as much as I enjoyed making it! I feel like these Daisies are gonna be a good staple piece in my stamp collection. They would work for so many occasions!

Anyway, I hope to see you all again next month, bye!

Butterfly Wreath Card + Video

Hi everyone! Rebecca here with a spring themed card! Today I am creating a butterfly wreath! To create the background for this card, I used some light colorful inks on the Layered Floral Vines Stencils.

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Wreath Card + Video

To create the butterflies, I used the Decorative Butterflies stamp set to stamp a whole bunch of small, medium and large butterflies. The great thing about this set is that you have the option of creating outlines, solids and patterns and can really play with different color combinations. I stamped and heat embossed several gold butterfly bodies. I then used the Decorative Butterflies coordinating dies to cut out all of the butterflies and their bodies.

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Wreath Card + Video

For the sentiment I used a stamp from the Decorative Butterflies stamp set and stamped it on one of the solid pink butterflies I had created. Then I popped that up on a small Eyelet Circles die cut out of white cardstock. Then I used the Eyelet Circles dies to cut a larger circle to use as the base of my wreath. The sentiment circle went in the center and I popped up the butterflies on the edge of the large circle. First I bent up the wings and then I placed one small foam square in the center of the butterfly to give it even more dimension.

I had so much fun creating this spring themed Hello Friend card, but this design and sets could be used for a variety of other cards and would be perfect for a mother’s day card! I hope you’ll try these sets and create your own butterfly wreath with your favorite colors!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Egg-Stra Special Easter

Hi everyone, it’s June here! Today I’m back to share another card made with the new spring and Easter collection.

This release features my favorite cupcakes Pretty Pink Posh has released to date and I instantly got inspired to make a very colorful Easter card. I chose 3 of the cupcakes from Easter Cupcakes and stamped them in Copic friendly brown ink. I wanted to use a lot of spring-y pastel colors, so I colored them mostly in pinks, greens, yellows and neutrals.

Pretty Pink Posh: Egg-Stra Special Easter

Confession time, I’m kinda intimidated by layering stencils that require a lot of different colors like the Layered Butterfly Floral stencils. I’m a tone-on-tone kind of girl, so I went into the process of making my background with some hesitations. But I knew that if I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, this colorful card would be the perfect chance. And strangely enough, I was happy with the first attempt! I started by blending a subtle ‘glow’ of Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide and layered my stencils on top of it with the colors Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber, Worn Lipstick and Vintage Photo.

Pretty Pink Posh: Egg-Stra Special Easter

I didn’t get to use the green I used in my cupcakes in the background, so I decided to bring it back as a frame. I cut an Eyelet Rectangle out of white cardstock and matted it onto a piece of green cardstock. I cut my stenciled pattern paper to size and adhered it onto the rectangle.

The card was already very busy, so I didn’t want to introduce more colors with my sentiment. I stamped the scripty ‘Easter’ from the Easter Train stamp set in black onto some white cardstock. I finished off the sentence by embossing some sentiments from the Sentiment Strips: Easter stamp set onto dark brown cardstock and I cut them into strips.

Pretty Pink Posh: Egg-Stra Special Easter

This card was definitely a big step out of my comfort zone, and I encourage everyone to try the same! It was fun to end up with a card that’s totally different from what I usually make and I bet you’d have fun also, so don’t be afraid to try new techniques.

I’ll be back again next month with even more inspiration, see you soon!

Easter Egg Window Card

Hello, Gemma here today with a fun window Easter card to share. I started with a 6” square panel of white card. In the centre, I stamped a sentiment from the Easter Sentiments stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Egg Window Card

Next, I took three of the dies from the new Stitched Eggs die set and cut windows in the panel.

To add the same windows in my 6” card base, I temporarily taped the panel on to the card base and fitted the dies back into the already die cut spaces . I then opened the card base and ran it through my die cutting machine. You may need to remove the panel and run it through a second time with the dies to cut out the windows fully.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Egg Window Card

You could skip this step and just use the card base for your windows, but I like to use a thicker card panel for a sturdier finished card.

I adhered the panel on top of my card base, now with three windows to the inside of the card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Egg Window Card

Next, I die cut the Stitched Eggs from different coloured card stock. I chose three of the eggs to show through the window spaces, using double sided tape to secure them inside.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Egg Window Card

I then adhered more eggs over the front of the card to create an all over pattern. You could pop some of the eggs up with foam tape, if you want more dimension. To finish, I stamped the same sentiment inside the card.

I appreciate you stopping by, thanks for visiting us today!

Spring Daisy Wreath + Video

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am back with a new video today. I felt inspired to combine flowers for a Spring wreath from this year and last year’s Spring releases!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisy Wreath + Video

I started with my background and I had a natural, apricot cardstock in my stash and I did a tone on tone look by blending Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide with the Easter Words Stencil. After splattering a green, metallic watercolor, I used the largest Stitched Torn Rectangle Die when it was dry.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisy Wreath + Video

Next I stamped my images with an alcohol marker friendly black ink – I stamped the wreath and small flowers from the Leafy Spring Wreath Stamp Set along with the daisies and bow from the Daisies Stamp Set. I used my OLO markers to color them in and you can see the colors in my video today.

When I was done coloring, I used the Daisies Coordinating Dies and Leafy Spring Wreath Coordinating Dies to cut all of the images out. I planned out my wreath and adhered the flower and bow to the wreath with liquid adhesive. I used foam adhesive to attach my wreath to the stenciled panel.

Pretty Pink Posh: Spring Daisy Wreath + Video

I had a yellow, scalloped Sentiment Strip Die cut from another project and was happy it matched the yellow of my flowers! I cut another strip from white cardstock and stamped my sentiment from the Sentiment Strips: Easter Stamp Set with pink ink. I layered the die cuts together and popped it up on my panel with foam adhesive as well.

The panel was attached to my card base and I added a few 4mm Clear Droplets on the wreath to give it some subtle shine and a dewy look! I hope you enjoyed today’s card – I’m so inspired by the apricot, pink, green and yellows… Beautiful colors for Spring!

Easter Treat Boxes

Hello, Gemma here today to share some treat boxes, perfect for gifting Easter chocolate.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Treat Boxes

I began by die cutting the Birthday Treat Box from gingham card. These boxes are really easy to put together. I added double sided tape on the sides, then folded the die cut boxes along the scored edges and secured the sides with the tape.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Treat Boxes

Next, I die cut the Bunny Face Shaker from brown and white card. I also die cut the ear pieces, nose, mouth and whiskers using the same die set.

I decided to add cheeks to my bunnies, using a die from the Halloween Mug Additions set. I also added some lashes to the white bunny, using a die from the Easter Mug Additions set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Treat Boxes

I adhered the bunnies to the front of the treat boxes, along with a white card piece on the back for a written message. The die for this piece is from the Birthday Treat Box set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Treat Boxes

To add some more decoration, I die cut a rainbow of individual eggs from the Easter Egg Border set. I adhered three eggs on each side of the boxes to finish.

I hope these boxes inspired you to create cute Easter treat boxes. Thanks for stopping by!

Pastel Easter Basket

Hi friends! It’s Dana here today and I am back with an Easter card to share with you all. The new release is packed full of so many amazing new dies sets! I love how they all can be mixed and matched to give you so many options. I decided to combine a few sets and create an Easter basket full of springtime goodness for my card today!

I started my card by using the Stitched EggsSpring Mug Additions and Big Easter Cupcake die sets to die cut all of my images. I die cut the images from white cardstock and used small blender brushes to add color to each individual die. Next, I used the Easter Basket die to die cut my basket. I love this die for Easter, but I find I use it for lots of other occasions too. It’s the perfect size and there are so many fun ways to fill it!

For my card panel I used the large Eyelet Rectangle die. I ink blended the panel with a soft pink ink and added a few white splatters for a little added detail. I attached my basket to the center of the panel with foam adhesive and then filled the basket with all the different springtime images. Lastly, I used the Sentiment Strips: Easter stamp set and Sentiment Strips dies for my sentiment.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope I inspired you to create an Easter basket of your own.

Enjoy your day, Dana

Somebunny Loves You

Welcome Pretty pink Posh friends… Annette Allen here with you today with this Spring filled guest design post. I am so excited to have this opportunity to share  with you today.

Create card on white cardstock A2 size.

Cut a panel on white cardstock A2 size and stencil these cute new Layered Bunny Faces using pink ink on the first (A) stencil, Black ink on the second (B) stencil and for the third (C) stencil we are going to use embossing ink only on the ears and for the nose a darker pink. Remove the stencil and add some white embossing powder to the ears and heat emboss to  activate it.

Adhere your panel to your card base using liquid glue.

Die cut the second largest Eyelet Rectangles die on white cardstock. Leave your die in place  and ink blend some pink and teal onto your panel. The die will act as a mask, as you can see in  the photo the outer edge is still white.

Now die cut the third largest Eyelet Rectangle in the center of your large Eyelet Rectangle we just die cut. This will create a window. Cut a piece of acetate that will cover your open space of your rectangle and adhere it to the  back using tear tape.

Now add some foam tape to the back of your rectangle. When covering the back make sure to  leave no gaps around the center rectangle. We don’t want those fun shaker bits to escape.  Add some of those fun new Cotton Candy Mix to the center of your shaker. Make sure all the Cotton Candy is sitting flat.

Peel the protectant layer of your foam tape and this is where it gets a little tricky. You can either create another small panel with the Layered Bunny Faces stencil to add to the back to close  up your shaker or flip your card onto the back of the shaker, just make sure you do it straight.

Stamp out both of your sentiments from the new Sentiment Strips Easter stamp set on white  cardstock using black ink.

Die cut the sentiments using the Sentiment Strips. Pick the proper size for your sentiment. Die  cut the coordinating decorative Sentiment Strips on light purple cardstock and adhere them to  the back of each of the sentiments using foam tape. Adhere your sentiments to your card using tear tape.

I hope you enjoyed this fun shaker card fill of cute bunnies and lots of shaker goodness.

Thank you for letting me share with you all today.
