Valentine Challenge

valentinechallenge2

Hello, friends!

For quite some time, I’ve wanted to post a challenge where YOU could share your Pretty Pink Posh creations. This is the perfect opportunity for me (and others) to see your stunning work. Many of my designers started as customers and once I saw their work, I invited them to join the team. Now is the time for YOU to share your creativity and beautiful works of art!

I pulled four different cards that some of my designers have created to serve as inspiration for this Valentine challenge. You could be inspired by the colors they used, stamps, layouts… it’s really up to you and your interpretation!

If you are social on Instagram, be sure to hashtag #prettypinkposh and tag me @prettypinkposh so I can be sure to see your work there as well! I love seeing what my customers and readers create and as I’m looking to the upcoming months, I just may be in need of some new talent to join the team as a guest designer!

I’m really looking forward to seeing what you create!

New Confetti + Store Restocked

Happy February 1st!

If you’ve been reading the blog posts this week, the team and I hinted there was going to be new mini confetti releasing soon. Today is the day! Due to the huge demand of the mini stars, I thought I’d sneak in a surprise release and have mini hearts available when I restocked the store! See the newest products in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop HERE.

Pretty Pink Posh

As many of you know, the birthday celebration and sale prompted a LOT of items to sell out. Today I’ve restocked the store and almost everything is back in stock– there’s a few exceptions, but those items are ordered and will be here very soon.

I did the very best that I could to get enough inventory back in stock based on the waiting lists, but if items sell out quickly, they will be restocked.

Pretty Pink Poshborder

In this post, I wanted to address a few frequently asked questions…

FAQ

  1. Where is my order? If you have placed an order on my site, you can log into your account and see if the order has shipped, along with a tracking number.
  2. Why is my tracking information not updated? Unfortunately, once I ship off a package, it is out of my hands and in the hands of USPS. Sometimes they’re really good about scanning at each stop the package makes, and other times, they won’t scan an update for days. Sadly, the only information I know, is what you also see when you track the package.
  3. Can I carry your products in my store? Due to the current demand and my passion for providing quality service to my current retailers, new wholesale accounts are not being accepted. If you would like to be put on the waiting list, please send me an email with your store information.
  4. Why do your items sell out so quickly? As my long-time readers and customers know, I am a one woman business and an itty bitty one at that. I do my very best to order enough products for a release, but every now and then, a few products are more popular than I predicted. As I grow, I’m trying to order bigger quantities, but even then, each item is hand packaged, so I’m limited in how many I can make available at one time.
  5. How can I be on your design team? This is one question I get quite often. I previously did a series called Design Teams 101 where I shared some information and tips and also asked some questions from other popular stamp company owners. It’s a great resource if you want your work to be seen and are looking to be on a design team in the future.border

I know I say it often, but thank you for all your love and support. I’m looking forward to releasing even more new products, sharing inspiration and stopping in to chat with you here in 2016!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 5

valentinethemeweek

Hello! I’m delighted to be sharing my first feature post with all of you! Each month I’ll have a project showcasing sequins, confetti or seed beads in a unique way on something other than a card. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching my mind was on hearts! I’ve created a small garland perfect for a mantle, shelf or door.

garland

To begin, die cut three felt hearts. (This shape can easily be switched out for other holidays or everyday use). One of the hearts will become a shaker so you will need to cut an opening in that shape.

16 0117 0003 copy

Next you’ll need three paper backing heart shapes. One of these will back your shaker. I chose a pretty floral paper for this purpose. The other two will not be seen. Plain cardstock, poster board or chipboard will work just fine.

Adhere this paper backing to the reverse side of each cream felt heart for added stability.

16 0117 0002 copy

The shaker will be filled with Confetti so the form for it doesn’t need to be very thick. I used two cardstock spacers. If using Sequins or Seed Beads, you’ll need to use foam tape or fun foam. Remember to die cut one acetate heart as well for your shaker window..

16 0117 0001 copy

Die cut and stamp several items (mini tags, flowers, leafy sprigs, bows) to decorate the other two felt hearts.

_DSC8990 copy

Glue clusters of die cut items onto each of the plain hearts. Add confetti as accents. Fill your shaker with Iridescent Mini Heart Confetti (coming soon!) and Red Heart Confetti.

The possibilities for this little garland are endless! I made mine to match my great grandmothers plates. Aren’t they pretty!!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 4

valentinethemeweek

Hello friends!

Nichol here and today I’m sharing a Valentine themed card (that could actually be used anytime) showcasing Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies. I used the adorable PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp with my favorite Scallop Squares Dies to “frame up” the super cute pink chick!

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote1

To create my card I die cut a piece of watercolor cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Die. I love this die because it’s exactly the same size as the Scallop Square Die so it makes the perfect backing if you’re building up frames with dimension. I stamped the chick and envelope from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Antique Linen Distress Ink and then I watercolored the images using the following Distress Markers and a paintbrush dipped in water:

[ DISTRESS MARKERS COLORS: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon ]

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote2

Once the images were watercolored, I drew in the eyes with a black marker. I added “sky” with the Tumbled Glass Distress Marker and Peacock Feathers Distress Marker. I added a bit of shadow or ground with the Pumice Stone Distress Marker. When the panel was completely dry (I hit it with a heat tool to dry it quickly) I stamped the greeting from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink and then I stamped a scattering of hearts using Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Candied Apple Distress Inks.

I die cut frames from smooth white cardstock usign the PPP Scallop Squares Dies and Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Squares Stackables Dies. I die cut these again from Fun Foam and layered the frames on the watercolored panel to give the image the look of being “framed up”. Lastly, I attached the frame to a square 4.25″ card.border

Also, if you missed yesterday’s post, I shared that very soon I’ll have a challenge where YOU can share your Valentine creations. Stay tuned!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 3

valentinethemeweek

Hello, friends!

Today we have Liz joining us for a post full of Valentine inspiration. She always creates the most darling cards and lately, she has been a storm of Valentine goodness to share with you all.

DSC_0190 bunny blog

I can’t get enough of these new Scallop Square Frames, so I kept the dies together and ran it through the die cutting machine using 2 different colors along with a silver glitter card stock. It’s a great way to interchange different color combinations and fits like a perfect puzzle.

Next, I cut an acetate square size (3 7/8″) to use as my base to adhere the frames together and proceeded to create a shaker using these wonderful 6mm Flat Sweetheart sequin mix and new Mini Star Confetti sequins in Silver and Iridescent color. Afterwards, I pulled out this cute adorable little bunny from the Holiday Pals set along with the tiny bow.

DSC_0198 bunny close up blog

Since I’m in love with these stitched scallops as well from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, I couldn’t resist but to add it to this card. Last but not least, I used this cute little Stitched Speech Bubble to add a sentiment saying “You’re the best”.

I must admit this is one of my favorite sets: Darling Friends with this big balloon and adorable little bunny so I decided to make another shaker card using the Storybook 1 die and create a scene on the outside vs. on the inside. Also, if you notice that little tiny red heart on the basket, it’s from the Mini Tags die collection.

set1 set2

Here, I mixed in this fabulous 4mm Sweetheart mix along with some new little Mini Heart sequins in Silver and Iridescent. I can’t tell you how much I love these and thinking of all the ways to use, especially love their size and sparkles. Also, if your wondering where those tiny envelopes with the little red heart are from, it’s from the new Birdie Notes stamp set and boy let me tell you….it’s so darn cute.

DSC_0199 darling close up blog

This brings me to my last card where I used the new Birdie Notes stamp set (the free gift in the recent birthday celebration) to create this Valentine card filled with hearts. Isn’t this birdie adorable? The sentiment is also from the same set and can be used all year round and the little tiny bow that I colored in red comes from the Holiday Pals set again.

DSC_0212 Birdie Notes blog

As you can tell, l used this cute little scallop again from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, but before that, I’ll share with you on how I created this little mini shaker where I used the Stitched Photo Frames. This one is the biggest size out of the three you get in the collection measuring approximately 2 1/4 ” wide by 2 3/4″ tall.

After I die cut the frame, I embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and added a piece of acetate. Next, I added some fun foam to create the height needed for the shaker. Than comes the fun part which is adding in these wonderful 4mm sparkling clear sequins in the center.

DSC_0237 birdie close up two blog

Once I pieced it all together, I added on top of the acetate, these cute new little Mini Hearts in Gold along with the tiny envelopes.  Last but not least, I added this adorable birdie that was colored in pink using foam mount tape to add some more dimension.

Valentine Theme Week- Day 2

valentinethemeweek

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!

Heather here from Houses Built of Cards. I’m delighted to be sharing a sweet Valentine card with you today using the adorable new Mini Heart sequins that are releasing on February 1st! Eeeek! They are SOOO adorable! PERFECT for shaker cards too – so that is what I made!

 Cards-1-22-16-017

I used one of the umbrella’s from the Pretty Pink Posh Rainy Day’s Stamp set with a giraffe from Wplus9’s Party Animal stamp set – adding the little bird on the giraffe’s back, and fussy cutting them out together. My sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s True Friend stamp set – and those little hearts around the sentiment are from the adorable free stamp set from the PPP birthday celebration.

Cards-1-22-16-020

I used the Scallop Frames die set to create the frame for my shaker card, and added some pattern paper from Basic Grey for the background – then filled it with those Mini Stars in Gold. I love how tiny these are and how easy they shake – the move so freely inside the shaker!

I hope that you’ve been enjoying theme week so far. We still have three more days of great posts- we’ll see you tomorrow!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 1

valentinethemeweek

Hello everyone, Joni here!

Welcome to a whole week of Valentine inspiration here at Pretty Pink Posh. Every day this week we will have some tutorials and inspiration that you can use for the upcoming festivities.

Pretty Pink Posh

To begin, die-cut the oval scallop from Pretty Pink Posh  Decorative Tag 1 dies and while it’s still with the die I then distressed it with PTI Summer Sunrise ink pad to give the color for the background. Once its distressed I then taped the back of the scallop border with the inside of the scallop. This will help me make a small oval shaker that I can add to a tag or a card.

Pretty Pink Posh

For this project I die-cut lots of oval scallop border and I usually stack 3 (glued) and adhered on the top of the oval scallop. Because the border is thin, it’s easier this way for me to hold those awesome new Mini Hearts Confetti coming your way. But if you like to cut a thin foam tape, this will work too.

Pretty Pink Posh

Next, I glued another scallop border on top of the clear acrylic and filled the scallop shaker with this yummy new Mini Hearts Confetti along with other Pretty Pink Posh sequins. The Mini Hearts Confetti will be available this coming February 1st.

After filling the scallop shaker, I then glued the back of the acrylic following the lines on the scallop border and adhered on the top of the scallop shaker. I trimmed the excess acrylic from the scallop shaker with scissors.

Pretty Pink Posh

For this tag I used the Stitched Duo 3 dies and distressed. You can use other PPP tag dies for different looks too. The little cute chick is from the free stamp set Birdie Notes that was released from the recent PPP January Birthday Celebration, which I watercolored using the 60 Zig Clean Color Real Brush.

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Kraft cardstock from the Birdie Notes with white embossing powder and heat set. I cut the sentiment into rectangle added a foam tape and adhered on top of the strip of Kraft cardstock that I snipped on both ends with scissors.

Pretty Pink Posh

To create the note backing for the tag, I die-cut another white cardstock using the tag from  Stitched Duo 3 dies and scored the top of the tag. After, I added glue on top and adhered on the back of the decorative tag.

Pretty Pink Posh

Here’s to show you when the backing is ready for your written notes.

Pretty Pink Posh

They are so fun to make and so cute. For the first tag on your left I used the new Gold Mini Confetti Heart with 6mm Fairytale Fuchsia Sequins and 4mm Sparkling Clear. On the second tag I used the new Silver Mini Confetti Heart and Share Kindness Sequin Mix. For the third tag I used the new Iridescent Mini Heart Confetti and Sparkling Clear sequins.

Pretty Pink Posh

Here they are in close-up using the new Mini Confetti Hearts.

Pretty Pink Posh

Here’s a snapshot of the little party scene I created. You can use the same concept and create darling cupcake or treat toppers. I hope you guys enjoyed and got inspired.

Throwback Thursday: Peek-A-Boo

Pretty Pink PoshHello!

I’m excited to be on the PPP blog showcasing some of the fabulous Pretty Pink Posh dies.  I love to use my dies in unusual or unique ways and I’ll be stopping in once a month for a new feature called Throwback Thursday.  Today I’m using the Peek-a-Boo die that was released last year.

Pretty Pink Posh

When I was coming up with a design using this die, I could not get the image of Morning Glories out of my mind.  (That’s ok if you don’t see it…..just go with it for me!)  So, I die cut the Peek-a-Boo die multiple times in a random pattern onto Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock.  Using the die image as a guide, I watercolored Wild Honey, Hickory Smoke, and Broken China Distress Inks over the top.  I used lots of water to blend out the color so they weren’t so vibrant.  Once this panel was completely dry, I adhered it with foam adhesive to a top folding notecard.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my sentiment, I used a “thanks” die from my stash diecutting it out of Broken China Distress Inked watercolor paper as well.  I love that the sentiment extends across my watercolor background!  As for those sequins?  I had to use my favorite Sparkling Clear sequins in 4mm and 6mm to finish this off!

Pretty Pink Posh

I’m so excited to have Amy bringing this new feature to the blog once a month. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase an older product, but one that still has so much creative uses!

Along with the great card that Amy has shared with us, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite cards from the design team and guests using the specific product we highlight. Click on the photos below to see the original post from the designers.

That’s a wrap for this post. In my next post, I’ll announce the winners from the birthday celebration blog hop and the bonus giveaway winners.

Thanks for visiting the blog today!

Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Celebration- Day 3

Pretty Pink Posh

Hello and welcome to the last day of the 2nd birthday celebration!

Before I start with today’s post, I just have to say a truly heartfelt thank you. I have never received this many orders in such a short amount of time in the two years I’ve been in business. As many of you know, I’m a one woman business, so I’m working as quickly as I can to get all of your orders sent off. There’s a holiday on Monday, so that’ll allow me one extra day to get things packaged up for when the post office opens on Tuesday.

Today one the new PPP designers, Liz, has this darling card to share using several Pretty Pink Posh products. She used the dog from the Holiday Pals set and made him look oh-so-cute on this birthday shaker card. Just look at the little bow tie and hat!

Pretty Pink Posh

For the focal piece, Liz used the popular Stitched Banner Duo 2 die set to create the shaker part of her card and filled it with the 4mm Sweetheart Mix. These colors work so well with the red card base and the pink panel on the front. To finish off the card, she used the Twine and Bows die set– a must have for all crafters! It gives the illusion of twine without the fuss and bulkiness.

You could create the exact same card with more neutral or boy themed colors. Imagine the new Share Kindness Mix of colors on this card- that would be adorable for this card design!

Pretty Pink PoshNo party would be complete without guests, gifts and a party favor, right? During the celebration, save 10% off your order using the coupon code provided below.

Pretty Pink Posh

We have lots of amazing designers in today’s blog hop sharing new inspiration. Be sure to leave them lots of love- I’ll be giving away prizes to some comments left on their blogs!

PRIZES: I love giving back to you all, so I’ll be giving away 2 $50 gift certificates to random comments left on the different stops every day. Also, if you haven’t already, head over to the Day #1 post for a MISTI giveaway and Day #2 for a Big Shot Machine with dies!
