Christmas Tag Inspiration

25Days2015Hello everyone, Joni here sharing an idea of incorporating your non-tag die and make it into a tag as part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event!

For this project, I used the Stitched Pieces die and for the image and sentiments, I used the Winter Wonderland Stamp set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Christmas Tag Inspiration

To begin, I first distressed an A2 white card panel with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feather and Shabby Shutters, then die-cut the panel with Stitched Pieces die. The images from Winter Wonderland Stamp set were colored with Copic markers.

Pretty Pink Posh: Christmas Tag Inspiration

Next, I die cut another on a white panel. This will serve as the backing of the tag. I simply secure the back side with a sticker sheet and cut to size, this will help hide the die-cut at the back as well.

Next, I cut the tag to size and rounded the corners.

Then, I adhered some foam tape the front panel and adhered the stitched piece on the white die-cut panel and stamped the sentiment.

For Final touches, I added some white dots using my Uni-ball white gel pen and added some Crystal Stickles on the images.

Tutorial: Easy Holiday Cards

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing easy to make holiday cards.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easy Holiday Cards

To begin, I cut the black cardstock to size 4 ¼ X 5 ½. I stamped the “season’s greetings” sentiment from Christmas Friends stamp set using a Citron embossing powder by Recollections. The cute snowman is from the Happy Snowman stamp set, the bird and gift are from the Christmas Friends stamp set. I also used the Happy Snowman Coordinating dies to cute this cutie.

For the snow background of the card I used the Uniball white broad pen and drew some different sizes of dots to make some snowy background, this part is relaxing.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easy Holiday Cards

Next I die-cut the black panel using an all time favorite, the Scallop Frame Dies (large one). I did this to get the size of the card. This card is originally the size of the large scallop die.

Pretty Pink Posh: Easy Holiday Cards

I then, I die-cut it again with antique gold cardstock from Paper Source.

I colored the images with copic markers. The beanie hat for the snowman is the same from the boy, I just fussy cut it and colored it red. The boy images are also from the Christmas Friends stamp set.

I couldn’t help but add some Diamond Stickles to the beanie, gift, scarf, and bird.

Giving Thanks (with Zig Markers)

Pretty Pink Posh: Giving Thanks (with Zig Markers)

Hello, friends! This is Vera and I have a Thanks Giving card with video tutorial to share today featuring Giving Thanks stamp set and Scallop Borders Dies.
Pretty Pink Posh: Giving Thanks (with Zig Markers)

I began by stamping the images on Canson Illustration paper with Versafine Ink and then colored with watercolor medium Gansai Tambi and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen. I then die cut it with the Giving Thanks coordinating dies.

Pretty Pink Posh: Giving Thanks (with Zig Markers)

I die cut the header of my card using Scallop Border dies on white cardstock with size 5.5″ x 1.5″ (my card size is 5.5″ x 4.25″) and then I heat embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. To finished my card, I added here and there with my favorite Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Here’s a video to show how I created my card from the start to finish.

Layered Fall Card + Video

Hello, Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and I have a video tutorial to share today showing you how to create one of my favorite type of cards – layered & dimensional!

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Fall Card + Video

My “secret ingredient” for these kind of projects is the use of special patterned paper and also stitching and I talk about both of these in detail on my video.

Watch the video above   I Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Often when I start working on cards that involve a lot of layers I like to build my future card design on my desk by using dies and stamps themselves, I find this to be very helpful especially when I want to visualize my card design and check if the size and shape of the dies I selected work well together.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Fall Card + Video

From there I move onto picking out the right patterned paper. I have a favorite brand that I love to use whenever I use dies. The brand is called Trimcraft First Edition and they are from UK, but their papers are available on Amazon. The reason I adore them is for their “special effects” as I like to call them, their papers often have special coatings and finishes are are fantastic for such projects.

If you don’t have this type of paper you can always use other patterned paper or even stamp your own using paper design using stamps.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Fall Card + Video

To create this card I selected several die sets including Scallop Borders Dies, Scallop Circles Dies and Stitched Essentials 1 Dies.

Each layer was cut out of patterned paper, the background layer pieces were all adhered together so that I could add machine zig zag stitching around the edges. I love adding stitching to my cards as it adds a lot to the handmade look and feel of my projects.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Fall Card + Video

The scalloped circle layer and also the tag were both foam mounted for a pop of dimension and so was the little watercolored Fox Friend.

Pretty Pink Posh: Layered Fall Card + Video

To embellish this card I used Metallic Rose Gold sequins in 4 mm and 10 mm sized and brown sequins from the 6mm Wildflower sequin mix, along with some 4mm Clear Droplets.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 7 (Plus Giveaway!)

Thanksgiving is always at our house – we have as many people as we can fit around the table and there’s always great food and conversation! I like to send out personal invitations, and special notes to those who can’t make it this time… just to let them know we’re thinking about them as we’re separated by the miles.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 7 (Plus Giveaway!)

I’m smitten with these adorable pilgrims from the Giving Thanks Stamp Set.  The set has lots of extras – pumpkins, leaves, and sentiments in the prettiest script font. There’s even a Giving Thanks coordinating die set that has a stamp for each of the images in the set making crafting a breeze!

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 7 (Plus Giveaway!)

I created a scene inside a Scallop Circles die – this is the larger of the two circles in the set.  It’s perfect for an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5”).   Scalloped on the inside and beautiful stitching on the outer edges, these Scallop Circles make everything just a little more elegant! Landscapes couldn’t be easier using the border dies from Pretty Pink Posh. There’s lots of different style borders to choose from. I chose the Scallop Borders Die Set.  They coordinate perfectly with the Scallop Circles!

The finishing touch was a sprinkle of Sparkling Clear Sequins – who doesn’t love a little shimmer?

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 6

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 6

Hi there, Joy here today, sharing my creation for the Thanksgiving Theme Week…

Being that I live in Australia, we don’t actually celebrate Thanksgiving, however, that being said I could not possibly go past making a card for someone that needs a little thanks, and what is better then using the Giving Thanks stamp and coordinating die set. Let’s jump in and I will tell you how I created this cutie…

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 6

I started out by die cutting a piece of white card stock using the Stitched Hexagons, on the centre hexagon that die cut out I stamped out a sentiment from the stamp set in some red ink, setting aside to work on the images…

The images I stamped out and coloured in with my Copics and went about die cutting them all out, I die cut quite a few out so as to have as many images as I need for my design…

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 6

Next was, to put the card together, I trimmed a piece of Kraft card stock to form the card base, with the trimmed white piece I foam mounted that to the card base and with the other die cut hexagon that had the sentiment stamped I adhered it straight to the card front…along the base of the card I added my images to form a very festive bounty look and completed the card by adding a scattering of Metallic Gold Sequins.

So even if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving there are still ways of giving thanks and with this Pretty Pink Posh set there are so many options to give thanks in the form of a card…

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 5

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 5

Hello Pretty Pink Posh friends! Shannon here today!

I have a Thanksgiving themed card for you today featuring the adorable new Giving Thanks stamp set to continue with Thanksgiving theme week!

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 5

I started off by stamping the bottom portion of my card on a white heavy weight card case with the leaves and smaller images in the stamp set. I colored in with Copic markers and did some Copic dot coloring with some shades of blue around my images.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 5

I then stamped my adorable animals on a separate piece of white card stock and then masked them off before stamping my pumpkins, to make them look as they were in the background. I again used my Copic markers to color it all in. I then ran this panel through my die cutting machine with the Stitched Borders 2 die. I wanted this panel to stand out a little on the card so I added a piece of kraft card stock that I also ran through my Cuttlebug with the Stitched Border die and layered it underneath.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 5

Once I had this panel onto my card base I simply stamped my sentiment to finish off my card!

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 4

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 4
Hi! It’s Melody here on the blog today sharing my project for the Thanksgiving Theme Week! I am going to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving and wanted to bring her a little gift for hosting us all. I am using the Giving Thanks Stamp Set and the Giving Thanks Coordinating Dies for my project.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 4

I started with a kraft gift bag and randomly stamped leaves from the Giving Thanks Stamp Set. This a quick and easy way to dress up a simple bag.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 4

Next I covered a tag with watercolor paper. I stamped the sentiment in gold ink and embossed with gold embossing powder and then used distress inks to create the background. I colored a variety of pumpkins, acorns and leaves with Copic Markers and die cut with the Giving Thanks Coordinating Dies and attached them to the tag. I used 6mm Metallic Gold Sequins and 4mm Metallic Gold Sequins to finish off the tag.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 4

I used the smaller die in the Scallop Frames Dies to create the shaker. I cut the frame four times from kraft card stock to get the depth I needed. I added acetate behind the top layer. I added leaves to the background and dropped in 6mm Metallic Gold Sequins4mm Metallic Gold Sequins, and sequins from the 4mm Autumn Harvest Sequins Mix.  I used foam tape to attached the adorable pilgrims.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 4

I used one of the dies in the Mini Tags Dies, ribbon, and twine to dress up the candle.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 3

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather dropping by with a couple cards and a tutorial for Thanksgiving Theme Week here on the Pretty Pink Posh blog!

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

For my cards today, I used some of the smaller elements in the Giving Thanks stamp set, and one of the larger sentiments paired up with a heat embossing and distress inking technique to get a unique one layer effect on my cards!

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

I started off by using an embossing powder tool over my white cardstock to keep the embossing powder confined to only where I stamped. I then stamped my small images in a random pattern in Clear Embossing Ink, then stamped my sentiment over the top with black Versafine ink – THEN, all at once, I sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it all at once. This way you have one layer of heat embossing.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

Here you can see the effect – the small images are nearly invisible at this point.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

Then the magic – using foam blending tools, add your distress inks over the top – the heat embossed areas will resist the distress ink, and almost magically appear!

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

Finally, I added some splatters of water and Gold Color Shine for some additional texture, then attached some Sparkling Clear Sequins before mounting on a kraft card base.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 3

Such a fun way to add texture and interest to a flat card!

Here is a closer look at both cards.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 2

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 2

Liz here and today I’m sharing a card for Day 2 of our Thanksgiving Theme Week.

I’ve been having lots of fun playing with this adorable Giving Thanks set as it has a lot of fun critters and images to color and a variety of fall leaves. Also, I love using the Coordinating Dies to help me cut them out, especially the tiny ones.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 2

Since I love shakers, I thought to create another one and use the Mini Storybook 1 as I love the dual stitching feature which means that after you run the die through the cutting machine, the negative piece is left with stitching. Here you can see the stitching around the window frame.

Here, I placed the window die on the upper part of the card and ran it through the die cutting machine. Than I thought it would be nice to add a border 3/4 down, so I pulled out these cute Scallop Border and placed it down on the same piece I just die cut before running it again through cutting machine.

Pretty Pink Posh: Thanksgiving Theme Week Day 2

I wanted a contrasting color between the white cardstock and the plaid paper, so I die cut another Scallop Border and used some chocolate card stock which I glued onto the white piece by lining it up.

For the inside of the shaker, I created some clouds and grass by doing some ink blending and glued down some new 1/4″ Gold Star Confetti so they don’t fall down when shaking and added these wonderful 4mm Autumn Harvest Mix sequins perfect for fall.

I hope you liked today’s post. Be sure to join us tomorrow for another day of Thanksgiving inspiration!
