This card is super simple on the outside but inside there’s a rainbow birthday train surprise that pops up!

Easy Interactive Train Card + Video

I love interactive cards but to make them myself, they have to be simple! LOL! This one couldn’t be easier! To create the pop-ups you don’t need any special supplies, just need a way to cut cardstock like a paper trimmer, craft knife or even scissors!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this project inspired you!

Birthday Candles

Hello crafty friends! Barbara here and I am so happy to have a chance to share a this card that I made for Pretty Pink Posh’s 10th birthday celebration!

Pretty Pink Posh: Birthday Candles

This project was made using the adorable Birthday Candles die set. I die cut them from colored cardstocks using two tones for each candle and paper pieced them together using liquid glue. I die cut the flames from white cardstock and added stickles to create a sparkly shine.

You can customize the colors to fit the recipient, or to use up your paper scraps!

Pretty Pink Posh: Birthday Candles

I adhered the candles to a panel that I created using the Birthday Words stencil. I used white cardstock and added white texture paste over the stencil for a subtle textured look to really showcase the candles.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Bright Birthday Cupcake

Hi crafty friends! It’s Dana here today and I am back with a bright and cheerful birthday card to share with you all. The latest release is packed full of so many amazing die sets! They all coordinate perfectly and can be used to create so many fun cards.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Birthday Cupcake

I started my card by doing all of my die cutting. I used the Big Birthday Cupcake die set for the large cupcake. I then used the Party Hats and Birthday Candles dies to create the fun “party” accessories. Lastly, I used the Birthday Mug Additions set to create the star cupcake topper to decorate the top of the cupcake. I just love how all of these sets can be used together to give you so many options.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Birthday Cupcake

Next, I used the Pierced Stars Plate to create my card panel. I love the subtle detail this die creates on your background. I then used the Fancy Cake die set to create my white frame for my card. I stamped my sentiment with the Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set and attached it to a banner I die cut with the Sentiment Strips die set. Lastly, I attached all the fun birthday images with foam adhesive to finish my card.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed my card. I can’t wait to see what you create with all these fun new products!!

Enjoy your day, Dana

Elegant Celebrate Cake

Hello, Gemma here today with a card featuring the new Cake Shaker die set. This versatile die can be used to create both shaker and non-shaker style cards, as I’ve done here.

Pretty Pink Posh: Elegant Celebrate Cake

I wanted to create a floral decorated cake, so I began by die cutting the previously released Spring Foliage die set from white card. I then coloured the images with copic markers.

Copic colours:
Flowers: YR000 YR00 YR01; Y00 Y11 Y13; RV91 RV93 RV95; R30 R20 R22
Leaves: BG70 BG72 BG75
Candles: Y11 Y13 Y15 Y17 N0 N1 N7
Celebrate banner: N0-1 R30 R20 R22

Pretty Pink Posh: Elegant Celebrate Cake

Next, I die cut the new Cake Shaker die from pearl white sparkle card. I didn’t use the inner die pieces included in the set, which would turn this cake into a shaker. I die cut the candle 3 times from white card and coloured them with copic markers.

The sentiment banner is from the new Big Birthday Cupcake die set. The sentiment is a separate die that can be added to the banner to cut the letters.

Pretty Pink Posh: Elegant Celebrate Cake

I die cut the banner twice with the sentiment, colouring one set in with copic markers, then popping out the letters and layering them over a clean banner. I also added two more layers behind for dimension. I added some light grey copic colour for some shadow detail too.

I adhered some patterned paper to my 6” square card base, leaving a large 1” white border around the edges.

Pretty Pink Posh: Elegant Celebrate Cake

Next, I adhered the cake in the centre of the card,  followed by the banner. Finally, I decorated the cake with the leaves and flowers.

I hope this card inspired you to dress up your cakes using your floral dies. It really stretches your die and makes it so you can use this for a variety of occasions!

Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I’m super happy to be back on the blog with this set of birthday cards showcasing the ever so cute Birthday Cupcakes. I absolutely adore this new stamp set and decided to make two cards to be able to feature the six cupcakes from that set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

As very often, I started off by stamping the images on 80lb Neenah solar white cardstock using an alcohol marker friendly black ink, I cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and my Graph’it brush markers.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

When it comes to birthday cards, I like to make them extra festive using rainbow colors, and those cupcakes are just perfect to achieve that because there are several sections that just scream for rainbows, such as the candles, the polka dots or the stripes on the cupcakes cases.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

Once the coloring was done, I moved on the backgrounds, and cut two 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panels. I covered one of them with salvaged patina oxide ink, and the other with spun sugar oxide ink, and then I created a fun background on each panel using the Layered Birthday Wreath stencils along with oxide inks: picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, wilted violet and hickory smoke.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

When I was done with all the inking, I mixed some copic opaque white ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters on both panels, and then did the same with black soot oxide ink for more contrast. And once everything was dry, I attached each panel to a white card base using liquid glue.

Next I worked on my greetings from Sentiment Strips: Birthday. I white heat embossed “Sending you birthday cheer” on pink cardstock, and “Have a very happy birthday” on turquoise cardstock. I trimmed them both into slim banners using a Sentiment Strips die, and attached each banner on a larger gold glitter banner using liquid glue.

Pretty Pink Posh: Bright Cupcakes Card Duo

Next I cut two Stitched Torn Rectangles out of vellum using the second largest die from that set, and attached three cupcakes on each panel, as well as a greeting right below those cupcakes, using 1mm foam squares. I added liquid glue at the back of each vellum panel, but only behind the images, and attached each panel on a Layered Birthday Wreath card.

To finish my cards, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and to make them even more festively cute, I added morning dew nuvo drops at different places. That’s it, and we end up with two very bright and colorful birthday cards that, I hope, will make someone smile on their special day.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Day 5: 10th Birthday Celebration Hop

Day 1 CLICK HERE //  Day 2 CLICK HERE // Day 3 CLICK HERE // Day 4 CLICK HERE

Hi crafty friends! I’m Rebecca here with two shaker cards today! Both are made with the Star Cover Plate, but the nifty part about this month’s cover plate die is that, since stars are symmetrical, you can use this die horizontally or vertically!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Simply cut the Star Cover Plate out of two pieces of cardstock and two pieces of fun foam. Adhere the die cut fun foam over an A2 piece of cardstock. Adhere an A2 piece of acetate behind the die cut cardstock. For one card use the Berry Smoothie Shaker Beads and Purple Shimmer Confetti Mix.

In the other card use a variety of  Bright Rainbow Clay Confetti, Over the Rainbow Clay Confetti, Birthday Party Shaker Beads and Rainbow Shimmer Confetti Mix.

Then adhere the shaker window on top of each card and now you can choose which one you’ll use horizontally and which you will use vertically.

Foil a couple of Happy Birthday sentiments with the Hot Foil Happy Birthday Script, cut them out with the Happy Birthday Shadow Dies and pop them up on the shaker cards! And that’s it! I love having the option of both vertical and horizontal cards with this new Star Cover Plate!

Day 4: 10th Birthday Celebration Hop

Hello crafty friends! I hope you’ve been enjoying all the birthday festivities so far. Barbara here and I am so happy to have a chance to share a project I made for Pretty Pink Posh’s 10th birthday celebration!

For this project, I used the brand new Party Balloons die set. I used the technique of die cutting the balloons out of a variety of toned colored cardstock to create a background.

I created an ink blended panel with soft gray distress ink and arranged the balloons on the panel to make them look like they were flying around. I adhered them with foam squares and then added the Large Celebrate Shadow die cut from gold cardstock for a festive look.

Day 3: 10th Birthday Celebration Hop

If you missed Day 1 CLICK HERE //  If you missed Day 2 CLICK HERE

Hello crafty friends, Marine here. I’m thrilled to be sharing with you this card featuring the new Interactive Cake die set. I love interactive cards, they’re so fun to make, so I was over the moon when this new die was released!

I started off by creating a fun rainbow background on a 5,5 x 4,25 inches Strathmore bristol smooth panel. I first applied and blended oxide inks in a clockwise direction, starting from the top left hand corner: kitsch flamingo, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, salvaged patina and shaded lilac. Next I used the Birthday Words stencil and more oxide inks to bring more interest to my panel, creating a tone on tone look, using picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers and wilted violet. And as always I added texture: I mixed some black soot oxide ink with water and used a small brush to make splatters all over the panel, and then did the same with copic opaque white ink.

I knew that I wanted to add multiple greetings inside the cake, but I still wanted to have a bold sentiment right above my Interactive Cake, so I cut “Celebrate” from the Gift Card Bag die set out of gold glitter cardstock and out of white cardstock. I glued the gold glitter word on top of the white one, but shifted it a tiny bit to the right to create a white border, and then attached my “Celebrate” at the very top of my panel using liquid glue.

Next I moved on to the Interactive Cake, and started off by working on the upper part. I cut the top piece out of a fun polka dot pattern paper, as well as a white circle border and multiple colored circles that I glued on the circle border in a rainbow order using liquid glue. Next I attached this border at the very top of my cake panel using 1mm foam squares, and then cut more elements such as the white pull tab and six colorful candles and lights. I attached those different pieces at the top of my cake panel: the pull tab in the center and three candles on either side. I also white heat embossed three different Sentiment Strips: Birthday greetings on colored cardstock, trimmed them into slim banners using Sentiment Strips dies, and attached them on my cake panel right below the rainbow circle border using liquid glue.

Next I moved on to the lower part of my Interactive Cake. I cut the bottom piece out of the same polka dot pattern paper as before. I also cut another white circle border, as well as colorful circles that, again, I glued on the white border in a rainbow order using liquid glue. I attached this circle border at the very bottom of my cake panel, and then cut more items such as a couple of pink scallop decorative pieces and six gold glitter hearts that I attached on the cake using 1mm foam squares.

To build my cake, I first added 1/8″ (= 3mm) foam strips at the back on the bottom piece of cake, along the very left and right edges and along the very bottom edge as well, leaving the scallop shaped top edge with no foam. I placed the top piece of cake behind the bottom piece, right between the foam strips, peeled the backing papers off the foam, and attached my cake on another bottom panel I had cut before, creating this way some sort of a pocket in which the top part of the cake can slide in and slide out.

The last thing I did was to add some morning dew nuvo drops on each candle to make them sparkle. And that’s it! I had a blast creating this bright rainbow Interactive Cake card, and I hope you enjoy the result.

Day 2: 10th Birthday Celebration Hop

If you missed Day 1 CLICK HERE

Hello everyone! Leanne here and I’m so excited be a guest on the blog today. I have some fun birthday cards to share showcasing the new Big Birthday Cupcake dies.  If you loved the Big Valentine Cupcake die set then you’ll definitely be interested in this new cupcake set.

These cards are 4bar size. The 4bar size is 3 1/2 inches by 4 7/8″. It’s such a cute size and makes a perfect little note card to enclose with a gift.  The cupcakes fit nicely on this size too!

I was inspired by the color palette of the Berry Smoothie Shaker Beads. It’s such a pretty mix of pinks and blues.  I pulled card stock from my stash matching those colors to create my cupcakes using the Big Birthday Cupcake dies.

Once I had the cupcakes assembled, I adhered them to a decorative panel created with the second largest Eyelet Rectangle die. The Sentiment Strip Birthday stamp set had the perfect greetings to add to my cards.  I stamped them right onto the cupcake frosting part.

It’s a little hard to see in the photos, but I applied some Glossy Accents and Stickles Glitter to the sprinkles on each cupcake.  This added a bit of sparkle and shine.  That’s it and these cards are ready for gifting! They were so quick and easy to make.  I’m sure they would be fabulous in many other color combinations.

Hello crafty friends, June here! Today I’m sharing a new card featuring a lot of the new products from the birthday release.

I knew I wanted a very colorful background, so that’s what I started working on first. I used the Birthday Words Stencil and various colors of Distress Oxide to create an ombre background. For the fade itself I used Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio. For the stenciled layer I used a darker shade of each of those colors, which were Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers and Lucky Clover. I used a very light hand to apply these colors. To finish off my panel I also splattered some thinned acrylic paint on it.

One of my favorite products from this release is the Cake Shaker die. I cut it out of cream colored cardstock and made it into a shaker using some acetate and foam tape. I combined shaker bits from both the Over The Rainbow and the Berry Smoothie Mix to get the perfect color combination.

I added the candles from the Interactive Cake die set on top of the cake and for some extra embellishments, I also added the scalloped piece that’s included in the same die set. I cut them out of different colors of cardstock and added some light ink blending on the sides for some extra definition.

For my sentiment, I stamped the ‘Party’ script from the Party Time stamp set onto some black cardstock and I embossed it with white embossing powder. I completed the sentiment by adding the ‘it’s time to’ at the top of my card panel. I adhered everything in place and tadaaaa! My festive shaker card is all done!
