Snowman Confetti Shakers

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather dropping by with another easy tutorial for you today! As soon as I saw the adorable new Happy Snowman stamp and coordinating die set, I immediately thought of an adorable little snowglobe – and the Window Frames die was the perfect way to create them! The Happy Snowman stamp and die set are such a great value – so inexpensive, and yet so fun and versatile!

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

I filled them full of tiny Iridescent Mini Circle Confetti, and stamped sentiments with the unreleased but free with $100 purchase Holiday Greeting stamp set – so many fun sentiments, and a fabulous font! Look how fun these are when you shake up all that confetti – just like turning a snowglobe upside down, don’t you think?

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers
I started off with two colors of solid cardstock, and used the larger of the Window Frames Dies to cut my window, then cut a snowdrift from some white cardstock using the Scallop Borders Dies.
Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

I stamped and colored up the Happy Snowman and one of the scarf images two times, then used the coordinating Happy Snowman Dies to cut them both out.

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

Here are the Copics I used if you’re curious! I get asked that a lot, so thought I’d include the picture this time.

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

Next, I trimmed and adhered my “snowdrift” to the front panel, then adhered the snowmen so that they would peek through in the proper place, then added my sentiments.

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

I decided to use fun foam to make the pocket to hold the confetti – so I used the Window Frames die and a pencil to mark the place – this was perfect, because then when I cut it out with scissors, it was a little larger than the opening, so it didn’t show around the edges at all, and left room for the confetti to go beyond the window.

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

I added acetate to the back of my window, then piled on LOTS of that fun confetti, then adhered the front piece over and shook up the confetti. My original plan was to have the pink scarf snowman with the pink card, and the blue one with the blue card, but I accidentally did them backwards, and was happy I did because I ended up liking the contrast better that way!

Pretty Pink Posh: Snowman Confetti Shakers

The finishing touch was a few of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Sequins Mix adhered on the outside, and a few 4mm Clear Droplets in the center of the largest snowflakes. Here is a closer look at each of them.

I’m having a hard time deciding if these are cards, or really just toys…since I just want to sit and shake them up over and over – just like a snowglobe! Heehee!

Clean and Simple Winter Card

warm-winter-wishes-1

Hello crafters! This is Julia, and I’m back with some more inspiration for all the new stamps and dies that Pretty Pink Posh has released this month! I wanted to stay clean and simple and still have some intense color on my project. Check it out!

warm-winter-wishes-2

I started with the Window Frames die from a previous release which has gorgeous stitching on the outside and inside. It allows me to create a window through a panel to focus the attention. Thanks to distress ink, I could create a very smooth winter sky behind the window, and I really like to add black to my color blends recently because the dark makes the light pop even more. It’s all about contrast.

warm-winter-wishes-3

Of course, the main star is my little girl from the Christmas Friends set, all wrapped up, with a cup of hot chocolate. The sentiment is a free set that you can receive if you spend more than $100 USD in the Pretty Pink Posh store; right now, you can’t buy it separate, but it is just perfect for the season!

*free set available while supplies last, or until October 31, 2016.

The finishing touch are the new sequin mixes. I loooooove the colors, which I wouldn’t have thought of mixing together by myself, and of course the new Snowflake mix is just fantastic!

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

It’s time for our two day Product Release Blog Hop for the October 2016 release. This release was a big one and since it was the last one of the year, I wanted to make it packed full of extra amazing products. We released five brand new stamp sets with coordinating dies, three die sets along with some fun embellishments!

Today I have the super talented Joni Andaya featuring a card with the new Halloween Friends stamps and dies!

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

To begin, I first distressed my card panel with Evergreen Bough and Scattered Straw by Tim Holtz Distress inks.

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

Then I stamped this cuties from Halloween Friends Stamp set on a white cardstock, colored it with Copic markers and die-cut them with Halloween Friends Coordinating Dies.

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

Next, I splattered my panel using Scattered Straw. I simply smoosh the ink pad on an acrylic block, added some water and used my watercolor brush to create some splatters.

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

Next, once the panel is dry, I stamped the sentiment “happy haunting” this is also from the same set. I also distressed a strip of paper and die-cut it using one of the dies from the Scallop Border Dies.

October Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

To finish it off, I added some Pewter sequins in 4mm and 6mm, along with some 3mm Sparkling Clear. At the bottom of the card I added some Diamond Stickles and also added some on the images for a little extra sparkle.

Distress Ink Halloween Card + Video

Pretty Pink Posh: Distress Ink Halloween Card + Video

Hello, Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and I have a video tutorial to share today featuring one of the new stamps & coordinating dies – Halloween Friends.

I’m also going to share a simpler and faster way to create ink blended backgrounds and will talk a bit about ghost stamping! I filmed a video tutorial to walk you through the process from start to finish and explain everything in detail.

Watch the video above I Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Instead of using a piece of white paper to create my Distress ink blended backgrounds I’ve been using colored cardstock. The trick is simple, pick the color of cardstock to match the lightest color on your future ink blended background. So here, to create a background going from black to purple to light purple for this Halloween card, I used light purple cardstock as my base.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distress Ink Halloween Card + Video

By the way, you’ll still be able to add water to your backgrounds, done on colored cardstock, to have Distress inks move and react like they usually do on white, and it will take you significantly less time (and ink!) to blend a background. It took me a little over 3 minutes to create a background for this card (while it usually takes no less than 10 minutes if I start on white).

Another trick I am sharing today is cutting critter silhouette out of black cardstock to use a shadow or create the illusion of having multiple critters on a card. This doesn’t work everytime and on every card, but it does look fantastic on those cards where the background is dark.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distress Ink Halloween Card + Video

The last tip for today is to try using watermark embossing ink over the ink blended background to create ghost stamped images. Stamping with this kind of ink will create slightly darker transparent impressions that look like shadows or ghosts!

Peekaboo Winter Friends

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here this morning, and I’m back sharing another card with some more of the DARLING new release with you! For this one I had fun making a little interactive peekaboo window card – how fun are the Peekaboo Windows dies?!?!?

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

I started off by using one of the Peekaboo Windows Dies to cut three of the same windows in a piece of blue cardstock. I stamped a small lead in sentiment on the outside of the center window using the new FREE with purchase stamp set (full of beautiful sentiments!), then added some snowflakes using Winter Wonderland, overlapping the windows. The side border was created using Scallop Borders, then a couple torn strips of vellum, with a thin strip of black cardstock to ground the edge of it – hard to see in the photos, but a great little bit of added texture.

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

When you open the windows, look what is inside! I think this die would be super fun for advent calendars as well – the possibilities are endless!

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

The cute little boy and girl are from another new stamp set called Christmas Friends, die cut with the coordinating Christmas Friends Dies, and the sentiment is from Winter Wonderland.

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

I used my MISTI to perfectly place my sentiment on my white cardbase by laying my window over the top, placing my stamp on my MISTI, then lifting off the front panel before stamping. The little guy and girl I added adhesive too, then slid them in place before pressing down to adhere. (Shhh…don’t tell, but I had to trim the feet off the little guy so they didn’t poke out where my sentiment was!) :)

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

I attached the front panel with foam adhesive, so that there is some dimension where everything is poking through the windows underneath.

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

Now I want to put windows in all the things! Haha!

Pretty Pink Posh: Peekaboo Winter Friends

Have you purchased anything from this release yet? I’m curious to hear what caught your eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Distressed Fall Foxes

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Fall Foxes

Hello friends!! Amy L. here. Today, I am playing with the cute foxes from the Fox Friends Stamp Set. Foxes remind me of Fall. That’s why I chose to use some soft Fall colors in my background. I also created an offset shaker to nest the foxes and finished with a heartwarming sentiment.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Fall Foxes

Here are more details:

  1. On a white panel, white heat emboss the SSS Doodle Background. Blend Fossilized Amber, Crushed Olive, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn and Seedless Preserves distress inks with mini blending tool. Die cut the panel with SSS Stitched Rectangles Die
  2. For the shaker, I prepared a stamp storage pocket and the fuse tool. I used a circle die as template and fuse along the edge to make a round shape shaker with a small opening. Fill in the shaker with Gold Mini Star Confetti. Die cut two circle frames with Scallop Circles Dies and adhere onto the shaker. Mount the shaker offset on the panel with glue
  3. Stamp the foxes in black. Color with Copic markers. Die cut them with coordinating dies. Mount with foam tape
  4. White heat emboss the sentiment from the Birdie Friends Stamp Set on gray cardstock. Mount with foam tape

This finishes a cute Fall inspired card with foxes! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Quick Seed Bead Shaker + Video

thanksgivingshaker

Hello crafters, this is Julia taking over the Pretty Pink Posh blog today! I want to show you how you can, quickly and easily, create a shaker card with the brand new, limited edition Autumn Seed Bead bundle that just released!

Watch the video above   I  Watch the video in HD on YouTubeborder thanksgivingshaker_2
The Giving Thanks stamp set and die set is perfect for this type of card since the dies for the leaves and pumpkins have enough detail so everyone know what they are. I decided to only cut a few openings into my panel along the left side of my panel, with the sentiment from Giving Thanks snuck in-between.

thanksgivingshaker_5

As with every shaker card, you’ll need to adhere a piece of acetate to the back of your panel and then add foam (dimensional) adhesive around the openings, making sure to not leave any gaps where the shaker elements could escape from. Then add the shaker elements, here the seed beads. I think they are perfect – they are tiny which allows me to add a lot of them even in small spaces and still be able to shake ‘em!

thanksgivingshaker_4

Once you adhere your panel on top, your shaker is done! You can stop here, and just leave it as is, but I wanted to add some very subtle dimension and detail and so I added a few more die-cut shapes of leaves and pumpkins. I used the same card stock that my panel was made from so the color would match exactly.

Watercolor Halloween (New Products)

Hello Pretty Pink Posh friends! Shannon here today to share a card featuring some awesome new products from the upcoming October 5th release.

Pretty Pink Posh: Watercolor Halloween (New Products) Pretty Pink Posh: Watercolor Halloween (New Products)

I used the Halloween Friends stamp set along with its coordinating dies and the new Peekaboo Windows die set for my card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Watercolor Halloween (New Products)

To create my card, I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock and stamped all the small candy pieces and such along with my sentiment from the Halloween Friends stamp set and colored in with my Zig Real Brush markers and then went back over them with some water to give them a messy watercolor look and added some splatters for extra interest.

Pretty Pink Posh: Watercolor Halloween (New Products)

I ran my panel through my die cut machine with the Peekaboo die just slightly over top my sentiment. I stamped adorable costume critters on separate water color paper, colored in as well with my Zig markers and cut out with the Halloween Friends coordinating dies. I adhered my main panel onto a black card base, added my critters inside the window and decided to stamp the Boo! sentiment with white ink inside the window.

That’s it for my Halloween card today! Thank you so much for joining me today!
