To start, I cut a white card panel to 3.25 x 8.5 inches. I then used the Medium Polka Dot Stencil to create a background. I wanted to make a mixed media background, which is not my usual style. However, the new Simple Sayings: Brave stamp set inspired me to be brave and try something new. With a sponge, I used distress oxides in Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, and Iced Spruce. For an effortless look, I intentionally did not line up the stencil perfectly and then splattered with black and gold acrylic paint.
I chose to feature the adorable hippo and the leaves from Jungle Additions stamp set for this card. The stitched square that I used to stamp the sentiment onto is from Storybook 5 Dies.
Dots and lines go together in design, so I added black strips using the new Simple Strips Dies. The strips are not long enough for a slimline, so I hid the edges behind the white square and other elements.
Next, I arranged the stamped images and adhered onto the card. Some are foam mounted for dimension. I wanted to create a scene to show a little hippo hiding behind the bushes, afraid to come out because of a powerful wind gust, blowing the leaves in different directions. I just love the sentiments from the Simple Sayings: Brave. They are great to use for encouragement cards.
For added texture, I stitched around the card with linen quilt thread. I realized that my panel was a quarter inch shorter than it’s supposed to be, so I adhered it onto a black cardstock before gluing it onto the card base.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card share. Happy crafting!
Hello, Pretty Pink Posh’ fans! This is Yana Smakula. Today’s video shares a different way to color with alcohol markers, a fun way to use a whole lot of jewels, and 3 ways to use the new Jungle Friends and Jungle Additions stamp sets! Let’s jump right in!
I started working on my cards by stamping all of the images I needed. I used darling critter images from the Jungle Friendsand Jungle Additionsstamp sets and also stamped leaves, branches, and flowers. Because I had planned to color all of these using alcohol markers I picked a suitable type of ink, Intense Black by Simon Says Stamp.
Lately, I’ve been enjoying the blending free coloring technique. This method requires absolutely no blending when coloring with alcohol markers and it works with all alcohol markers out there. The idea is to have harsh, defined lines that separate the different shades of one color. It is best to use the shades of markers that aren’t too similar and have a clear difference to the naked eye.
So if we are talking Copic markers, for example, I wouldn’t use a Y00 and Y02 makers, as there won’t be that much of a difference between these two shades of yellow.
This type of coloring looks a lot like cartoon coloring to me. The images have a simple colored look to them, sometimes even too simple.
You can apply the same coloring technique to color any other image. This is a very simple coloring method and one, I think, that is suitable especially for beginners. You don’t need to worry about blending your colors.
I have 3 cards to share today. I decided to stamp a leafy frame for my first card. I stamped 2 types of images around the perimeter of my panel. I used the same coloring method and the same colors of markers to color these images green. Next, I stamped, colored, and cut out the monstera leaves and adhered them to the frame using foam adhesive squares to create dimension. I cut the excess leaves off using my scissors.
I also stamped, colored, and cut out flowers and used those to embellish my frame. I foam mounted a baby elephant in the center of the panel – I love how cute she turned out! I stamped a sentiment that reads Congratulations. All of the sentiments you see on my cards today come from the Simple Sentiments stamp set.
Now, I mentioned I’ll show you a fun way to use your jewels! I love jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and I think I have them in every color imaginable! I typically like to use them as accents on my cards, as dimensional flower centers, or to cover any mistakes I have on my projects. For today’s cards, I used them to create colorful backgrounds! Here I added lots of Sea Glass jewels all around my baby elephant adding hints of blue as if mimicking the sky! I used jewels of various sizes and adhered them using glue.
For my next card, I started by foam mounting the two vines in the top part of my background panel. I also added additional leaves and flowers. With that adhered, I added my party of critters! First, I added my zebra, another darling baby elephant, and also a baby hippo! They look so adorable together! I dressed them up using the die-cut flowers – I added flowers in pink and yellow and also added a bunch of smaller leaves.
I stamped a sentiment that reads Celebrate Your Day and to spice this card up I once again added a bunch of jewels in the background behind my critter party! Doesn’t this look fun? It adds texture, it adds sparkle and it adds a ton of wow!
My last card features the rest of my jungle critters. I have 4 of them of the card – a hippo, a tiger, a zebra, and once again that darling baby elephant. I added some leaves and flowers to dress this card up and also to embellish my critters and of course, I had to add my jewels! This time I used Jewels in Caribbean Blue and added loads to fill my background and add some color and sparkle!
Next, I cut an A2 sized piece of Bristol cardstock and ink blended the background with Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I added some water splatters and thinned down Picked Raspberry to the background for interest, and attached it to an A2 white card base. I then cut a 4 X 5 1/4″ piece of white cardstock and cut a window using the Storybook 5 Dies and attached to my inked background with foam tape. I arranged the jungle friends inside the frame and attached with foam tape for dimension, tucking in the leaves behind the critters. To complete my card, I stamped a sentiment from the Encouraging Greetings Stamp Set in black ink.
For my next card, I created a fun, striped ombre background by cutting strips of colored cardstock using the Simple Strips Die. Using the Nature Essential Dies, I die cut a white frame and placed over my striped background, highlighting the stripes. Next, using the Hi Shaker Die, I cut it twice from white cardstock. I carefully snipped off the “hi” sentiment, layered them together, and placed on top of an inked background, using the same color inks as my previous card. I stamped the hippo and leaves from the Jungle Additions Stamp Set, colored with Copic markers, and cut them out with the Jungle Additions Coordinating Dies. To finish off my card, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Simple Sentiments Stamp Set with white embossing powder onto a black cardstock strip.
For my last card, I created a fun slimline card, so I could fit all the jungle cuties! To begin, I cut a piece of Bristol cardstock to 3 1/4 X 8 1/4″, and ink blended the background with Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I then die cut a grassy border, using the Nature Essentials Die(cut 2 borders), and ink blended it with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I then attached both borders to my inked background, cutting off the excess border and adhered to a 3 1/2 X 8 1/2″ white card base. Next, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and cut out the images from the following sets:
I stamped the sentiment from the Encouraging Greeting Stamp Set with black ink, and then arranged the images onto my card, attaching some with foam tape to complete my card.
I hope you enjoyed my cards using the new release products! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hello! It’s Ardyth here with a post about rescuing your card fails! I had grand plans for some beautiful watercolor backgrounds that did not actually happen. Despite repeated attempts, I ended up with 3 unattractive panels that I really didn’t want to use. It’s so frustrating when that happens, isn’t it?
I slept on it and the next day, I decided to die cut the panels. Doing this often results in something much more usable and luckily, that’s what happened here!
I ended up with 6 beautiful cards from my 3 ugly panels. Here’s a video to show you that perseverance can really pay off!
To begin, I cut a piece of cardstock to 3 1/4 X 8 1/4″, and ink blended the background with Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, and Forest Moss Distress Oxide inks. I added water splatters and some Forest Moss ink (thinned with water) to my inked background to add some interest.
Next, I added the vines and leaves to the inked background and attached the monkeys using foam tape for dimension. I then attached my card front to a 3 1/2 X 8 1/2″ white card base. The sentiment, from the Hedgehog Friends Stamp Set, was stamped onto a black cardstock strip and embossed with white embossing powder.
To complete my card, I added some Lemon Drop Jewels. They add the perfect amount of sparkle and interest to any project!
To start, I stamped and colored my images with Copic markers. I stamped lots of vines from the Jungle Friends set. The images were quick to color and you can see my blending and shading process in the video.
Copic colors used:
Greens: G12, G14, G17
Monkeys: [E50, E53], [E30, E34, E37]
Blush: R201, R20
After die-cutting my images, I set them aside to work on my scene. I die-cut the Nature Essentialsdie twice to get to birch trunks. Since I had two frames from the two cuts, I adhered them together to create a more sturdy and thicker frame. The two birch trunks are then colored with the E50 and E53 only at the side cuts.
My background is first ink-blended with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink. I blended the color from top down with more saturated color at the top and faded to white towards the bottom. Then I used the Jungle Background Stencil to ink-blend Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink only towards the top of my panel. This will create a heavy tree canopy for the monkeys to swing from.
I adhered my frame and birch trunks to the ink-blended panel, then I stamped my sentiment. Then I began adhering the colored vines to my card to create the tree canopy for my monkeys. Finally, the monkeys are adhered to my card using foam adhesive to give the card some dimension.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card using the new release products from Pretty Pink Posh! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hi friends! It’s Tammy and I’m so excited to be joining you on the PPP blog today! I am absolutely in LOVE with Pretty Pink Posh’s brand new release…it’s full of the sweetest little jungle animals I’ve ever seen! Today I’m sharing a card I made featuring the cuties from Jungle Friends.
The background was created using the Jungle Background Stencil, and ink blending with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks. I then splattered the background with some Mowed Lawn ink, thinned with water, for interest. I die cut the grass and frame (three times) using the Nature Essentials Die, and attached them to the inked background.
I arranged the stamped images onto my card, using foam tape on the monkey for dimension. To complete my card, I stamped the sentiment from Jungle Friends in black ink, and attached my card front to an A2 white card base.
I created a set of three cards using the lion and tiger from the Jungle Friendsstamp setand the monkey from the Monkey Friends stamp set. The tropical leaves are from the Jungle Additions stamp set. I used Copic markers to color these cuties in. For the green areas, I used G99, G94, YG17, YG01, and YG01. For the body of the lion and the monkey, I used E59, E57, E35, and E31. For the lion’s mane, I used E49, E47, E44, E43. For the tiger, I used YR09, YR16, and YR21.
I am in love with the new stencils from this release. I had so much fun using them. For the card bases, I used the leaves stencil from the new Layered Leaves and Flowers stencil set. For the kraft colored card base I began with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink then added Gathered Twigs over it.
For the yellow base, I used Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, and a bit of Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks. I used the Hi Shaker die to die cut the center out of each of the stenciled card bases. Then I layered the scalloped edges of the die-cut into the card bases. The little bits of grass peeking through are from the new Nature Essentials Die. I used Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Oxide inks to add colors to the die cuts. I then stamped the sentiment from the Jungle Friends stamp set using black ink onto the card bases. I used foam tape to glue the lion, monkey, and tiger to their card bases and the tropical leaves as well.

I was excited to see the new Simple Sentiments stamp set in the June release. There are sentiments for every occasion and the simple font works well on its own or with the many beautiful scripty sentiments by Pretty Pink Posh.
I began by die cutting different widths of theStitched Strips die set from 5 colours of card stock. If unsure of what colours to use, try searching for colour combos on Pinterest as there’s lots of inspiration available.
I cut a piece of thin copy paper and adhered the strips to it using liquid glue, then trimmed the panel down to be 4 1/8 inches square before adhering to my 4 5/8 inches white square card base.
To finish it off, I adhered these strips to my card with foam tape, for extra dimension and to draw the eye to these sentiment strips.

Hello! Leica here. Today I am sharing a box card featuring the Jungle Background and Woodgrain Circle Stencils from the upcoming June 18th release, along with the Jungle Additions stamp set.
These adorable animals are from the Jungle Additions stamp set. I stamped them onto 110lb cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and cut with their coordinating dies.
I used the following Copic markers:
Giraffe – E43/35/33/31
Snake – YG13/11/01
Hippo – C5/3/0
Leaves – YG23/21, G67/63
Flowers – RV25/23/21
For the box inserts, I used green cardstock and topped it with Stitched Leafy Borders in the same color.
The fun part is creating the scene. Some of the elements are adhered directly onto the inserts and some are foam mounted to add dimension to the scene.
Lastly, I stamped the “Be Brave” sentiment from the Simple Sayings: Brave stamp set onto a white rectangular cardstock and foam mounted on the front flap of the box card.
Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and I hope you are inspired.
