Happy Monsters + Winner

Hello and Happy Monday!

Did you see my announcement last week? I’m so excited to be hosting the very first Pretty Pink Posh blog hop in 19 days and each day that passes, I’m getting more and more excited for the big day. There’s TONS of sponsors lined up to provide prizes and many of the companies have designers who will be sharing inspiration the week of. If you haven’t already, head on over to the original post for all the info and some exclusive COUPON codes!

I recently carved out some crafty time and made a few shaker cards. There’s just something about these cards that make me happy….honestly, I don’t think it’s possible to look at a shaker card and not smile. Today’s shaker card features the adorable Happy Monsters in Car stamp from DeNami Design. Seriously, how cute is this design?! It’s a happy design in itself, but pair it with a shaker card and we have a winning combo.

Pretty Pink Posh I Happy Monsters

Isn’t the striped and the polka dot papers darling? It’s from the Let’s Polka paper pack that I featured in my latest video, March 2014 Crafty Favorites. This definitely is my favorite paper pack at the moment.

It’s time for me to announce the lucky winner of the Nature Embellishment Kit from THIS POST. I’m sorry I didn’t do it on Saturday…I was feeling really sick that day and spent most of the day in bed. Without further ado, here’s the lucky winner!

winner3Karen, please use the contact me form and send over your mailing address and I’ll get this kit mailed off to you soon!

I better wrap up this post. Today I’m planning on getting some orders shipped out and maybe even film a start-to-finish video. Many of you know that I deal with quite a bit of health issues, so each day I’ll never know how I feel until the time comes. Let’s cross our fingers I have strength and energy to film today- I love hearing that you’ve been enjoying the videos recently.

Have a super amazing Monday!

Easter Chicks + More Kits!

Is anyone else looking forward to Spring and Easter? I love everything about this time of year (well, not the rain… we get a lot of it here in Seattle!), but I DO love the flowers that bloom because of the rain. Flowers and I go hand-in-hand; I’m a sucker for fresh cut flowers and how they brighten up my studio.

For those who watched my March New Products video, you’ll recognize this card. I used the Springtime Sequin Mix for this card and love how the colors and those mini flower sequins complements the card. I think the Easter eggs with the sequins added in look adorable, don’t you?

prettypinkposh_easter1a

I get a lot of questions asking how I adhere my sequins and I personally like Crystal Lacquer or Medium Matte. These both hold the sequins well and with the small application holes, it doesn’t get too messy.

prettypinkposh_easter1b

excitingnewsOkay, now onto how you can purchase one of the SOLD OUT Springtime Embellishment Kits. I have 8 kits available and if you would like to purchase one, leave a comment with your name, state/country and quantity you would like. I’ll send Paypal invoices to those who leave a comment before they sell out. Then once these are gone I have no more.

NOTE: I’m sold out of the Springtime Mix of the cupped option and don’t know when I’ll be able to make more since my supplier is sold out of one of the colors….. Once I have them back in stock, I’ll definitely be posting it on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page. In the meantime, I do have the flat version available.

That’s going to wrap up this post. If you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to the blog posts via email so you don’t miss anything. Coming April 1st, I’ll have a post packed full of news, new products and more- only 15 days away!

It’s A Good Day

What’s this? A new card? Yes, I finally got a bit of creativity (and time) and while I still feel rusty stamping, I’m glad I made something worthy of posting. *wink*

I hope you’re not tired of seeing sequin cards, because I’m not tired of making them. They are so fun to make and everyone I have given them to have loved them. For my shaker frame, I used the Photo Mats Die from Top Dog Dies, which made this shaker super easy to whip up. I plan on doing a new sequin shaker tutorial soon and I’ll be using this die- it comes with three polaroid sizes and they are so easy to use!

Pretty Pink Posh I Balloon Animal

For this shaker, I used the Aquamarine, Pink Peonies, Lemon Drop and Sparkling Clear sequins. Curious how I came up with this color combination? I was actually inspired when I was packaging up a recent order for a customer! This color palette is so happy!

As I was assembling the card, the clouds looked a little bit lost. A little bit of faux stitching with a marker and voila! This not only made the clouds stand out, it also unified the card since I already had the other stitching on the focal point. My favorite markers to use for faux stitching are the Memento markers. They match the Memento ink pads (which I use when I color with Copics) and they have a fine tip perfect for faux stitching.

This weekend I was a busy little bee packaging up sequins and processing orders. I’m so happy that many of you were able to take advantage of the 10% savings coupon so far! If you’re new to sequins, or want to add some more to your collection, be sure to head over to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. I was looking over the colors I have in the shop and I can’t believe I have so many already!

Have you created a sequin shaker? If so, leave a link to your posts so I can take a peek. Sequin shakers have a special place in my crafty heart and in the near future, I have something planned with them. Stay tuned!

I {heart} You + Giveaway!

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Today I’m joining in on Valentine’s Day Blog hop hosted by the sweet Jenn Shurkus! The hop started on February 1st and goes all the way through February 14th. That’s right, she’s posting 14 days of yummy Valentine goodness and organized 14 gals to join along in the fun. So honored to be one of her guests!

Do you remember THIS card? Well, I was so taken with that sweet little envelope that I had to bring it out again. Normally I would make this a super girlie card, but I wanted to make a special Valentine’s Day card for my dad. With my health issues, he has become extra in tuned to my issues and does everything he can to make life a little easier for me. I kid you not, he  makes me breakfast every single day and yesterday he bought me pink roses- my favorite flower. Seeing as he blesses me every day, I wanted to make him a special card.

PPP_Hearts1a

It’s no secret that I have an obsession with sequins and I have to add it to just about every card I make. There’s just something about them that makes a card complete! For this card I added my Sparkling Clear Sequins, along with the Red Heart Confetti.

PPP_Hearts1b

If you haven’t already, be sure to stop by Jingle’s post from yesterday. She did a fab black, white and gold card that was not only trendy, but chic too! And then for tomorrow, you get to see Lenny’s post!

excitingnewsI promised exciting news and I get to reveal it now. My friends at Sweet Stamp Shop just released their newest stamp sets and their team is featuring lots of Pretty Pink Posh products! Exciting, right? This is my first collaboration with a stamp company since opening my shop and I am so thrilled with this opportunity. To make the deal even sweeter, I donated some products for a giveaway that they’re hosting on their blog.

In closing, I want to mention that there are a few sequin colors in the shop that are sold out. Don’t worry, I have them already on order and they should be here on Thursday or Friday. As soon as they arrive, I’ll post on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page, so be sure to stay tuned there!

Well, that’s going to close this post. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and be sure to check out the giveaway over on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Gnome

You all know I’m a sucker for cute stamps. While I do love elegant and floral images, there’s something about cute images that pulls me in EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Today’s card features a cute image and I’ll admit, I almost want to get a gnome for myself after stamping this one.

A while back, I purchased a die that featured six blocks and I had all sorts of ideas I wanted to do with it. I’m sad to say, just about all of those ideas went out when I lost my creativity. Hopefully both the ideas and creativity will return in full force soon. This little trickling of creativity is just not cutting it….

Pretty Pink Posh I Hello Gnome

This adorable Woodland Gnome is from the new DeNami release and boy, he’s a cutie. You can use him alone, like I did, or you can pair him with the abundance of woodland critters we just released. However you use him, he’s bound to look adorable on your projects!

While there’s quite a few layers on this card, everything came together super quickly. Ah, the beauty of die cuts! I used the Femme Frames, the Stitched Journaling Die and Tag Me dies for this card and I love how well they all work together!

Pretty Pink Posh I Hello Gnome

Well, I’m going to wrap this post up. Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today. I’ll be back tomorrow with a new post, along with some exciting news. See you then!

Sweet Butterflies

When I started the Pretty Pink Posh Shop, I honestly didn’t think I would lose time in my studio. Well, my friends, 3 1/2 weeks later and I am just now getting back to crafting. Granted, there were quite a few days mixed in there that I felt downright crummy, but the busyness of opening  a business has definitely played a huge part in blogging and crafting less. With that being said, I absolutely LOVE that the Pretty Pink Posh products are making their way around the world and truth be told, I am dreaming of the day when this can be my full time job.

Today I have a new (to you) card to share and it’s downright girlie. Pink, purple, sequins, pearls, doilies….you really can’t make it any more girlie. I adore this butterfly and will find any excuse to pull it out.

Click here for a previous post and video using the same butterfly.

Pretty Pink Posh I ButterfliesDid you happen to notice that I pulled out the Femme Frames dies again? If you are overwhelmed with the amount of dies out there (it’s okay, I can be too), this one is hands down one of the ones I would say is a MUST HAVE. They are so easy to use and make things a whole lot easier. I love these so much!

butterflies1bI hope you all have a wonderful Thursday. I have a doctor appointment in just a bit, then work and I’m hoping I can sneak in a bit of crafting later on. I’ll keep you posted on the last item…. Thanks for stopping in!

New Shopping Cart & More!

Hello and Happy Friday to you!

Today is a happy day for me….I’m launching the new shopping site for Pretty Pink Posh! I honestly had no clue how the Pretty Pink Posh products would be received, so I started out on Etsy (a great place if you want to test out the waters). I have been so very blessed by the response and I quickly realized I needed a more substantial site to host my products. After some research and lots of behind-the-scenes work, I’m reading to launch!

It’s been a month since I added new products to the store and since I was launching the new site, I wanted to bring you some more products. I filmed a quick little video sharing the new products. (Please excuse my cold- it’s been here for a few days and sadly hasn’t wanted to go away yet)

I wanted to share some new inspiration with you today featuring a few of the products that can be found at Pretty Pink Posh. Here’s a sweet little card trio I created….it’s it fun? My sweet friend, Dawn McVey, always inspires me and these colors remind me of her so very much. They’re so fresh and fun and let’s not forget they also coordinate perfectly with the twines I sell (I featured the hot pink, turquoise and marigold in the trio).
CardTrio_1

For the middle of each flower (that’s from the amazing Summer Flower set by DeNami Design), I put in a trio of the Sparkling Clear Sequins. These are one of my favorites from the shop and judging from your orders, you all love it too! To make it a little more special, I added little pearls on top of the sequins.

CardTrio_2

I don’t know about you, but special occasions make me want to celebrate. My version of a celebration in honor of the new site? A coupon code, of course! Whether there are items that have been on your wish list, or you would like some of the new products, you can use the coupon!

My amazing and talented team have also created items to share, so be sure to head on over to their blogs for even more inspiration. Have I mentioned how much these gals inspire me? You will be blown away by their cards!

Lisa  ♥  Leigh  ♥  Stacey  ♥   Joni   ♥  Maureen

Well, that’s a wrap for today’s post. Again, thank you to everyone who has ordered from my shop thus far. With each new order, you’re helping me fulfill my dreams and also bringing me closer to releasing even more new products. I have so many exciting ideas and plans, I can’t wait until I can move forward on them! visittheshop

My Heart Is Full…

Surprise, surprise, I have a card to share today. Truth be told, I actually made this card months ago, but whenever I went to post it, the Fresh Cut Florals stamp set and/or Fresh Cut Floral dies were out of stock. Well, it’s back in inventory (and if you’ve been wanting it, get it NOW) and I thought today would be the perfect time to post this card.

In the past I’ve done numerous posts with these products and honestly, they are some of my absolutely favorites. When I had energy to craft more often, I would have to force myself to use other sets (I didn’t want the others to get jealous!), but I always seem to find my way back to this lovely set.

See my previous posts HERE, HERE, HERE , HERE and video HERE.

Pretty Pink Posh : Fresh Cut FloralsFor this card, I went the route of some warmer colors and I love how it turned out. Some of you may remember that I previously had a hard time using purple….alas, this isn’t the case any longer. I love purple now and I thought it worked perfectly on this card.

Do you spy that scrumptious chevron twill ribbon? That’s just one of the many colors available in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop! This ribbon is my absolute favorite and judging from the response from customers, you all are loving it too!

Pretty Pink Posh : Fresh Cut Florals

excitingnewsStay tuned, if all goes as planned, my new shopping site will be ready by the end of the week! I wanted to make sure all the kinks were worked out and I believe it’s all set to go. Until then, I’m busy restocking inventory and adding  a few new products for you all to enjoy.

I hope I inspired you to pick up this set/ dies, or if you already have them, to pull them out again. Thanks so much for stopping in today and spending some time with me!

You’re A Deer

Do you ever feel like all of your cards look the same time and time again? I go through this quite often. (And no, it’s not because many of them feature sequins) I think it’s my layouts and colors that strike a familiar chord, so it makes me feel like they look the same. My remedy? Changing up colors and layouts periodically!

Today I have a card to share that features new DeNami stamps that I love so very much, along with a more subtle color palette. I love neutral colors and making a card using several different shades of neutrals is always refreshing. However, I still had to add a teeny bit of color in way of some aqua.

prettypinkposh_fawn1a

TIP: If you’re new to sequins, adding a trio of them to the corner of a card or tag is the PERFECT way to add some bling to your project, without going overboard. Also, this is a great way to add a little extra color to your projects.

prettypinkposh_fawn1b

I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again- I need a clone or an assistant to help me with my massive amount of to-do items. However, if we went with a clone, I would ask for a healthy one. These last few days have been “bad health days” and I did nothing but sleep and lay in bed for a good 36 hours. Thankfully, my new insurance kicked in and I can resume doctor visits again. Last year, I maxed out my visits really quickly and just about everything was out of pocket, which was not pleasant. Now that I have a whole new batch of visits, I’m hoping we can start narrowing down what’s wrong with me and resume the pursuit of getting me on the path to health again.

That’s going to wrap up today’s post. Thanks for stopping in and spending some time with me!

Heart Shaped Valentine + VIDEO

As many of you know, I keep quite busy with life, so I rarely take on guest designer spots. However, occasionally one will come around and I just can’t resist. Today’s post is proof of this statement.

Recently I was introduced to Top Dog Dies and was so impressed with their wide range of dies. Not only do they have their own line, they also carry many other popular dies as well.

Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Sizzix, Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by U.K. designer Stephanie Weightman.

Heart Shaped Valentine

I was so inspired by the lovely heart shaped dies at Top Dog, I thought I would just one of the many ways you can use their Heart Mini Album die, along with their Heart Mini Album Finishers die set. You may have noticed that these dies have the word “album” in them, but don’t let that stop you from using it for cards! I was easily able to adapt the album die and create a heart shaped card.

Here’s a quick visual of the supplies and steps of how I made this card….

Heart Shaped Valentine

1) Gather Heart Mini Album Die and Heart Mini Album Finishers die set. (Note I only pictured the dies I used for this card. There’s LOTS more dies included in the finishers set)

2) Score one (of your two) white die cut hearts from the album die at 1/4″. Glue together hearts where the scored line is- this will create the heart shaped cart. Cut off excess from the other white heart.

3) Die cut other shapes, gather embellishments and decorate.

4) Add in last minute embellishment (doily, twine, confetti hearts) and admire what you just created!

Heart Shaped ValentineIf you want to see how I created this card, I filmed a video! It’s a little longer than my normal videos, but I wanted to share exactly what the Top Dog Dies look like, along with the process of the card.
