Bright Summer Seashells

Hello crafty friends! Christina here to share a sparkly, beach-inspired card using big, beautiful die cuts from the new Stitched Seashells and Stitched Coral sets. I used Copic markers to add shading and dimension to the die cuts, added a little sparkle, and then arranged them on a Chevron Pierced background panel. So easy and so pretty! Let’s dive in!

To create the background panel for the die cuts, I ran the Chevron Pierced Plate and aqua blue cardstock through my die cutting machine. Before mounting the pierced panel on a slightly larger aqua blue cardstock panel, I splattered it with a little thinned white gouache paint.

Next, I die cut the seashells and coral elements for my card design from colored cardstock using a tropical-inspired color palette. I chose a jade and chartreuse green, a pale yellow, salmon, peach, and ivory cardstock. After die cutting them, I added shading and dimension with Copic markers, and to add a little sparkle to the die cuts, I outlined the stitching detail with Diamond Stickles. Finally, I arranged them on my background panel and attached them with either glue or foam squares, depending on their placement and if they overlapped other die cuts.

To finish things up, I heat embossed a Friend Greeting and a Summer Sentiment with white embossing powder on the same aqua blue cardstock I used for the background. Then I die cut them with the coordinating die and a sentiment strip die before attaching them to my card front using more foam squares. The final detail was to add a few sequin embellishments from the Spring Meadow Mix.

Thanks for reading about my beach-inspired card design featuring some of the beautiful new die sets in the latest summer-themed collection. Happy crafting!
