Colorful Umbrellas

Pretty Pink Posh: Colorful UmbrellasHello friends!!

Amy here today to share my first card as a Pretty Pink Posh designer. I am so happy to join sweet Paulina’s team! ☺

For my card today, I have used Rainy Days Stamp Set and Rainy Days Additions Stamp Set. These two sets coordinate perfectly! The umbrellas remind me of rain, which is very common in Seattle. However, rainy days don’t have to be bad days. Let’s brighten it up with rainbow umbrellas!

Pretty Pink Posh: Colorful Umbrellas

Here is how I made my card:

  1. Stamp umbrellas from Rainy Days and Rainy Days Additions with distress inks. I have used (from top left) Fired Brick, Tea Dye, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers.
  2. Add shading and highlight to each umbrella with the same inks using a wet paint brush. Paint the background with teal blue watercolor paints. This creates a perfect rainy sky!
  3. Die cut the panel with Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die. Mount with craft foam on white card base
  4. White heat emboss the sentiment on black cardstock. Mount with foam tape
  5. Lastly, embellish with sequins. I have used 3mm Clear Sparkling, 4mm Clear Droplets, 6mm Sparkling Clear, 4mm Strawberry Burst, 4mm Blue Lagoon and 4mm Lavender Moon.

I wanted to announce the new team for this upcoming design term. We are saying a very fond farewell to Nichol and Yuki, but fear not, they’ll be joining us in guest positions occasionally!

Sweet Foxes

Hello, Anna Kossakovskaya is here today with my second guest designer post, and todayI have another card created using Fox Friends set to share with you.

Pretty Pink Posh: Sweet Foxes

I stamped all foxes from the set using gray inks for the next coloring – such light silhouettes make the card softer. For cutting, I used the Fox Friends coordinating dies. Then I made the background – I cut the front panel using the Scallop Borders, blended it with two Distress inks, sprinkled with the water to get some spots and glued to the card base.

Pretty Pink Posh: Sweet Foxes

Then I cut three ovals using Stitched Tags Die – one for each of foxes – and stuck them to the panel with the foam tape to add the dimensions. Afterwards I placed the foxes on the ovals.

Pretty Pink Posh: Sweet Foxes

The final details are the sentiment under the front panel and some sequins: 6mm Peacock Feathers6mm Sunshine Glow4MM Sparkling Clear and 4mm Clear Droplets (small).border

A big thank you to Anna for being a guest designer this month. She is so very talented and I love the chances we get to work together!Pretty Pink Posh: Sweet Foxes

Throwback Thursday: Storybook 1

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday
Hi everyone!  Amy K. here with a bright summery card featuring an older but wonderful die called Storybook 1. I’m sharing this for our monthly Throwback Thursday feature!
 Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday

I wanted to use the Blissful Butterflies from the recent release again before summer is over.  I began by nesting the largest Scallop Frame die along with the Storybook 1 die. This gives a large(r) frame to make my shaker PLUS it gives such a pretty border around the Storybook 1 die.  I masked off the area where my shaker contents would go and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to my top folding white notecard.

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback Thursday
I added some sequins in 4mm and 6mm Marigold, Tangerine, and Sparkling Clear along with some Iridescent Star Confetti to my shaker.  I added my large frame with foam adhesive and sealed the edges.  To the front of my card, I added some Copic colored Blissful Butterflies with foam adhesive.  Lastly, I added my stamped and die cut “hello” to the lower right corner of my shaker card.

Along with this sweet shaker card that Amy has shared with us, I have a few cards that have used the Storybook 1 in the past. Click on the photos below to see the original post from the designers.

Thanks for visiting the blog today! I hope you are inspired to create new cards using this older, versatile die!

Tutorial: Creating Colored Droplets

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored Droplets

Welcome back everyone! It’s Nina-Marie here with you today featuring a fun technique on coloring your Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets to create gorgeous embellishments for your cards!

4mmdroplets6mmdroplets
Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored DropletsPretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored Droplets

I love using Clear Droplets on my cards; because they are clear, this makes them perfect for using with just about any style of project! However, sometimes you might find you want them to be a specific color to coordinate better with your card, or to create a certain effect. Well, by using some Copic refill ink, you can do just that!

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored Droplets

I used refills for this technique today, but bear in mind you can color over the Clear Droplets with markers instead. Since I was creating a lot of the same color of droplets, I ended up using the Copic refills because it was faster than coloring with an individual marker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored Droplets

For those of you looking for other alternatives to recreate this technique: Copic ink is alcohol based; and while I haven’t tried it personally, I would imagine that other alcohol inks like Ranger Adirondacks, Nuvo/Tonic Creative Pens, Chameleon Pens, Touch Twin Markers and others would also work. Just do some testing before trying it on a specific project!

Pretty Pink Posh: Creating Colored Droplets

In today’s video, I’ll be sharing the steps I took to create the colored Clear Droplets, including a few tips and tricks! I’ll then walk you through how I used those droplets to create the sweet scene card you see in the photos, using Pretty Pink Posh dies and stamps from My Favorite Things!

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me!

Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

Hello everyone, Joni here with another tutorial sharing how to do a splattered background with distress inks. On this project I used the new Rainy Days Additions and Fox Friends stamp sets and Fox Friends Coordinating die set.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

To begin I first stamped the sentiment from Rainy Days Additions stamp set “joy and sunshine” with Versamark ink and then white heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next, I distressed it with Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, and Evergreen Bough.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

Next, I smooshed some of the distress ink on the acrylic block, I added some water and used my brushed to gather the colored water and splattered it on the white panel. I did used all of the three distress inks for splattering.

Pretty Pink Posh: Distressed Watercolor Scene + Giveaway

Next, I colored the fox with Copic markers. I stamped the puddle of water, clouds and umbrella from the Rainy Days Additions stamp set. The umbrella handle is from the original Rainy Days stamp set.

This image below is showing you the water puddle. Such a simple image but it adds so much to the card!

The die-cut images for this project were adhered with foam tape for dimensions. I also added the new Pewter sequins which I think is my new favorite now. The sentiment “sending you” is also from the Rainy Days Additions as well.

Tutorial: Butterfly Shakers

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here to share a couple Butterfly theme shaker cards again using some of the NEW release from Pretty Pink Posh – SOOOO much to love!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

For these cards I combined the large butterfly die from Blissful Butterflies Coordinating Dies with some of the smaller images from the Blissful Butterflies Stamp Set – and some distress inking, one of my favorite techniques lately!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

To begin with, I cut my card front using the fabulous new Storybook 5 die from white cardstock, then cut it again out of kraft cardstock to get the center windows. I then used the large butterfly die to make a window for my shaker.

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Next, I used some Versamark ink to stamp the solid tiny butterfly from the stamp set randomly over the white background, sprinkled with clear embossing powder, and heat set – at this point, the butterflies are invisible…

 Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

THEN – I blended distress inks over the background – see how the white butterflies magically appeared? Then I took the tiny outline butterfly stamp set, and stamped it around the outside as well, but in the same distress ink color as was blended on each area – in this next photo, you can see how the right hand card front was already done this way – doesn’t it add so much to the background?

 Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Finally, I added the butterfly trail to the shaker part, and stamped a sentiment from Camping Friends Stamp set, and heat embossed them both in white, then added the acetate and foam adhesive to these pieces to form the shaker element – which is filled with the new size 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins – such a PERFECT size for shaker cards, and I’m pretty sure they are extra sparkly!!!

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

Here is a close up look at the finished cards:

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

See what I mean? Don’t you think those sequins are especially sparkly?

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

I love how just changing the distress ink colors helps change the entire feel of the card:

Pretty Pink Posh: Butterfly Shakers

That small size sequin moves especially well in the shaker cards too – small enough that I only had to use one layer of foam adhesive, and it still moves freely.

August Product Release Blog Hop Day 1

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

Hello, sweet friends!

It’s time for our two day Product Release Blog Hop for the August 2016 release. Many of you have already placed orders, but for those who were wanting for more inspiration, today and tomorrow the design team and special guests have all sorts of inspiration to share!

Today the super sweet Jeanne has a card and mini tutorial for you all using the new Camping Friends stamp set!

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

It’s great to be able to use the dies to cut out shapes to insert into a scene, but today I’m going to show you how I used the dies to actually make the background.  I wanted to create a starry sky over a grassy area as a background for the mischievous raccoon.

I started by stamping a panel of  card stock with the moon and stars images.  I colored them with Copic markers.  Next I die cut the matching shapes and adhered them to the colored images with repositionable adhesive.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

Next I added distress ink (wilted violet) over the stars covering about 2/3 of the panel.  I mixed a little extra with water and splashed it over the panel to add the little dots you see.   It adds a little dimension to the background – don’t worry if some go across the bottom panel of the paper.   When the paper was dry I removed the die cut masks.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

For the grassy area I used the curved border from the Stitched Borders 1 die set.  I used the negative side of the die cut as a mask and blended distress ink to create a grassy hill.

Tip: Save the pretty stitched side of the die cut for another project.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

I trimmed the background panel and framed it with the Scallop Frames die.

Pretty Pink Posh: August Blog Hop Day 1

A few Summer Flowers make great accents for the grass- and there are so many colors to choose from in the store!  Pretty Pink Posh makes it so easy to make!
