Falling For You Blog Hop

fallingforyouhop
Hello, hello!

I am so very excited to be participating in my first Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop. They just had a new release yesterday and today a huge group of us are sharing inspiration using some of the new stamps, dies and stencils! If you are hoping along, you should have arrived from Kelly Booth’s blog.

I was giddy with excitement when I was asked to join along and equally as excited when I opened up my package and saw the new Falling Rain cling stamp. I live in Seattle (where we get LOTS of rain) and this stamp is simply perfect. Plus, it’s such a unique design and I don’t have anything else like it.

Pretty Pink Posh
I wanted to create a fun scene highlighting the Falling Rain, so after playing with a few options, I decided to make that the backdrop for my little critters. For my focal point, I started off by creating a little water puddle using the Peacock Feathers distress ink (yes, I actually did a little watercolor!). I stamped, colored and die cut the umbrella and birds and then I added some extra touches to finish off the card.

Have you tried the Clear Wink of Stella yet? Oh my goodness, I’m kind of obsessed with it at the moment. It’s the perfect balance of shimmer, without the hassle and mess of glitter.

Pretty Pink Posh
I’ve been getting a whole lot of requests for my card and tutorial videos again, so I thought today would be the perfect day to bring one. I’m a little rusty at crafting while filming, but I hope that you still enjoy the video!

Question: do you enjoy seeing people color images in? I was editing this video and realized I spent 20% of it coloring. Not sure what you all think about that…

Whew! That was a whole lot of info in this post. I know there are lots of other stops in this fabulous blog hop, so I’ll let you go. Be sure to leave a comment on each stop- Simon Says Stamp is giving away a prize pack on each blog!

Your next stop is Pretty Pink Posh designer, Amy Kolling’s blog!

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card, video and you’re leaving inspired. Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Snails, Presents, Oh My!

Hello, friends!

I wanted to pop in today with a card that I created recently. Remember when I had Easter Week and was playing with the Gleeful Gardens set? I just couldn’t get enough of the images that I made even more cards to share. As some of you know, crafty time nowadays is rare, so I try to make the most of the times I have to craft (and that usually means I create with just a few sets at a time).

I don’t know about you, but I tend to give birthday cards a couple days late. I’ll remember it’s someones birthday and if I forget to take it to the post office that day, it’s inevitably late. Well, my friends at Lawn Fawn must have known there are a lot of people like me- just look at this sentiment! Genius!

Pretty Pink Posh

Lately I’ve been starting off a lot of my cards with the rectangle from the Stitched Duo 2 set. It’s the perfect size and you just can’t go wrong with the stitching. I created my little scene with a variety of images from the Gleeful Gardens set, added in the Grassy Border and a couple of flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix.

On the side of the focal point, I once again layered some border dies together. I used the straight line from the Stitched Borders 2 and the scallop from Stitched Borders 1. I love the way these look together and how you can bring more colors to a card depending on the cardstock you use.

Pretty Pink Posh

In closing, I wanted to let you all know that Ellen Hutson has a coupon for all in-stock die cuts. Woohoo! You’ve seen me use a lot of die cuts recently and if you’ve been keeping a wish list, this is a great time to cross some of them off your list.
spring2015_smThanks for stopping in and spending some time with me. In my next post, I’ll share some PPP news and also an update on what I’ve been working on.

Until next time..

Birthday Elephant + Sale

Hello and Happy April!

Today I have a card to share that I created a little while ago that I’ve been dying to share with you. In the March release, I created quite a few samples using purple and I have been on this purple kick ever since. There’s something about this color that is so fresh and Spring-like!

For this card, I used the super adorable WPlus9 set called Unforgettable. There are all sorts of cute elephant stamps coming out lately, but this one is still my very favorite. From the variety of elephant poses to the little elements and sentiments, this set is hands down a “MUST HAVE” in my book.

*Find Unforgettable at Ellen Hutson here/ Simon Says Stamp here

You know what I realized when I created this card? I truly love how a shaker card can change a humpty dumpty card and make it extra special. Have you ever been there when someone opened up their envelope to reveal a shaker? The way their eyes light up is worth all the extra effort!  Shaker cards, you and I are still going strong in 2015.

Pretty Pink Posh

If you subscribe to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop newsletter, you probably already saw the news. I’m having a flash sale, which means YOU get savings! Lots have already taken advantage of the sale, but I wanted to make sure that my blog readers also got in on the savings. Items are going quick, so be sure to fill your cart and checkout soon!

aprilsale1

In my last post I mentioned I’ll be having a new video soon. Don’t worry, it’s still coming, along with some more videos. I have a long to-do list of videos, so I’ll be tackling them one by one as long as the sunshine peeks out. Stay tuned!

Well, that’s going to wrap up this post. I’m off to go start on the orders that came in from the flash sale. Until next time….

Easter Week Day #1

Pretty Pink PoshHello, hello!

I’m excited to share that this week, I’ll be doing a theme week here on blog. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done one, but I recently had some time to create and I asked on my social media whether or not I should do one and I heard an adamant yes. I whipped up a few more cards, so I’ll be sharing a brand new Easter card everyday this week.

On today’s card, I used the cute duck from the Hello Baby set and the adorable eggs from the Happy Easter set. You know that I love creating scene cards, so I thought I would create a fun little Easter scene.

Pretty Pink Posh

I am totally loving how my new Picket Fence die makes scene cards more complete. Instead of a white fence, I thought I would make it light blue so it would add a little extra color. I added some grassy hills using the Stitched Borders 1 die and then the cute pink flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix.

Tip: if you’re curious what to use to adhere sequins, my recommendation is Studio Multi Medium Matte. It’s super strong adhesive and it dries relatively clear. To add dimension to my cards, I like to use the 3M foam mounting tape. It’s THE BEST!

Pretty Pink Posh

Do you like to create scene cards? Lately I’ve been creating a lot of Spring ones, but I want to create others. Are there particular themes you want to see?

If you have friends who might enjoy this theme week, be sure to share with them! I’ll see you tomorrow for day 2 of Easter week.

You’re My Favorite

As I’m looking back on the last few card posts, I’m realizing that I haven’t posted one of my go-to color combos in a while. I’ve been trying to stretch myself with new and unique colors that I’ve been straying away from the pinks, purples and greens. Don’t worry, they’ll be back soon. I actually got to craft recently and I created quite a few cards that I’m excited to share with you.

In today’s card, I’m pulling out the adorable superhero stamps from Mama Elephant again. There is just something about these stamps that has me a little nostalgic. Does anyone remember the animated movie The Incredibles? I loved that movie when it came out and these remind me of those characters!

*Purchase the Tiny Heroes set at Simon Says Stamp OR Ellen Hutson.

superhero1a

Can you believe I pulled out FIVE of my die sets on this card? I think that just might be a record for me. I used the Stitched Film Strip for the focal point, the Stitched Labels 1 for the sentiment, the Stitched Duo 2 for the main white panel and the Stitched Borders 1 & 2 for the bottom of the card. I can’t even imagine crafting without die cuts now- I’m utterly addicted to them!

superhero1b

Do you have a request for future videos? Lately I’ve been getting lots of requests for more videos, which is very flattering. There are so many talented crafters out there- I’m still in awe that people like to watch ME craft and film!  I have a growing list of requested videos, but I’m always open to hearing what you might like to see!

That’s a wrap for this post. Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Product Release Blog Hop

March_BlogHop

Hello, sweet friends!

It’s been a few days since the new dies and sequins were released and I know that some of you are already starting to get your orders. Hooray! For those who still have orders in, fear not, I’m still busy working on those orders and will get them out as soon as I can. Now for those who were waiting to see more ideas on these products- TODAY is the day.

The last three cards I shared were pastel cards, so I thought I would share a bright and bold card today. Plus, I was looking for a reason to break out the Tiny Heroes set by Mama Elephant and these colors fit it perfectly.

march2a

On today’s card, I used the new Picket Fence die, along with the Stitched Duo 2 (for the main piece) and the Stitched Borders 1 for the grassy hill and the red scallop border. I love how the picket fence really makes the scene feel like it’s outside and brings the whole superhero scene together.

I will admit, I cannot stop using the Spring Flowers Mix. These little flowers work well on so many themes and depending on how many you add, you really can make each pack stretch.

Lawnscaping Birthday Challenge

Pretty Pink Posh II Lawnscaping Birthday Challenge Today is a special day! It’s Lawnscaping Challenge’s 100th challenge and I have been invited as a special party guest by Design team Member Christy Reuling. Be sure to head on over to the Lawnscaping Blog where you can see ALL of the Design Team projects as well as ALL of the special party guest projects.

Since today is all about celebrating, I wanted to bring in several party guests for my card. One of my favorite things about Lawn Fawn products is they appeal to both kids and adults and today I wanted to create a card for a kiddo in my life. I brought out the Monster Mash set, along with the Bugs & Kisses set and went with a primary color palette (which I always think of as kid friendly).

Pretty Pink Posh II Lawnscaping Birthday Challenge

Lately I’ve been all about adding Silly Eyes on critters- I think it adds such a fun element to cards. To finish off this card, I added the Grassy Border and then added a bow using the Turquoise Chevron Twill ribbon.

Paulina the Butterfly?

Hello, hello!

Can you believe it? I’m doing a post with a card AND I have two more coming within the next few days. I’ve been working on a lot of projects this past week and I’m super excited to share some of them very soon.

Today’s card is actually one I created quite a while ago, but never posted to the blog. It features the DARLING Paulina butterfly die from Simon Says Stamp. I don’t know the process of how they name their products, but I must say, it’s fun having something after my name. A bonus? The die is so pretty and looks perfect when you can see the sequins shine from below.

Pretty Pink Posh

This die would actually be a great one for a shaker card, or you can use it for cupcake toppers. Lots of possibilities with this pretty die cut. For this card, I used the Aquamarine, Pink Blush, Pink Peonies, Fresh Mint and Sparkling Clear sequins in the 6mm size and I love the way it turned out.

If you’re curious on how I created this card, I filmed a video on how to do this for an old 10 Minute Craft Dash video. Remember when I hosted that challenge? That was so fun and I’ve been thinking about bringing in that challenge again for a special post. Would you like to see that?

I’ll wrap this post up, but I’ll be back tomorrow for a fun shaker card and info on a challenge I’m sponsoring. See you then!

Birthday Celebration Day #3

birthday_graphic

Hello and welcome to the last day of the birthday celebration!

Wow, you all have amazed me with your support, comments, the traffic on the blog and website and the orders. I’m still away in California for a wedding, but as soon as I get home on Monday, I’ll print off orders and start processing. I do have to note that the amount of orders is astronomical and I’m a one woman show… I will be hiring help to do some things, but a lot of the things only I’m able to do, so please bare with me.

In honor of the last day of celebrating, I’m showcasing the Peek-A-Boo die. The samples from the special guests and design team has been absolutely amazing and inspiring. Once I get home, I want to start pinning more inspiration using the dies, sequins and confetti- stay tuned for that.

Birthday Celebration Day #3

I wanted to use the Peek-A-Boo die in a unique way, so instead of something hidden, I used the die as a pocket. To finish up the scene, I used some sequin flowers to add a little more color and interest. Speaking of these flowers, I’ll be selling these in a special pack very soon…. stay tuned for that!

Birthday Celebration Day #3

No party would be complete without guests, gifts and a party favor, right? I know I did a coupon code for Black Friday, but this was a special occasion and I couldn’t pass up the chance to do a coupon. During the celebration, save 10% off your order using the coupon code provided below.

Pretty Pink Posh I Birthday Celebration Day #2As I mentioned before, there have been lots of special guests these last three days. Be sure to leave them lots of love- I’ll be giving away prizes to some comments left on their blogs!
