Valentine’s Day Shaker + Giveaway

Happy Valentine’s Day, sweet readers.

I don’t know about you, but I love this holiday. Granted, I’m single and don’t have a hot date planned this year, but I love the idea of spreading love to your friends, family and loved ones. Plus, it’s hard for me to resist all the pretty reds and pinks surround the holiday!

Today I’m joining my friends at Virginia’s View Challenge for the shaker card theme is happening right now. Since I’m a big fan of shaker cards and the Pretty Pink Posh sequins and confetti are perfect for these types of cards, I’m sponsoring a prize for a lucky participant.

  1. HAPPY VDAY!!! I love making shaker cards and it’s thanks all to you!!! Love your sequins and use them on pretty much every card I make!! My silly story – the boys in our family are making paella for the girls as a vday/bday (for my twin sister and I) celebration. I asked my brother how large his Dutch oven was and he gave me the most befuddled and confused look ever!!! Leave it to my brother to think of farts instead of cooking tools. Haha. I was laughing hysterically!

  2. I came home from doing errands one day and discovered that one of my basset hounds had pulled a 5 pound bag of flour out of the cupboard and carried it around my living room. While it was a mess, it was kind of funny because there was a perfect trail of flour on the floor. There was no disguising the culprit because the flour all over his ears gave him away.

  3. My baby boy turns 10 months in the next day (2/15) and DH put him down for a nap this afternoon. Anyways… I was in need of the lil girls room and had to go past his cot on my way to our ensuite. I looked in on my son to make sure he was ok and sleeping peacefully. Not only was he ok, he was laying cross ways in his cot with his lil feet hanging out the bars of his cot!! lol. If I could post the pic I took of him I would!! Haha! It’s 21st ammo

  4. I like Valentine’s Day for the colors! Even though I’m happily attached, we don’t observe the holiday together. I’ve been under the weather so unfortunately, the only thing I could think of that made me happy was receiving an email that my PPP orders are on their way! Thank you, Paulina! I hope you have a beautiful day! Xxoo

  5. Lawn Fawn & a shaker, what a great combination. Sorry I can’t offer you a laugh, I could use one myself, but i hope you have a blessed day.

  6. Something happy happened to me yesterday… I started a new job at the end of last August and received my first evaluation this past week… “Exceeds Expectations” across the board! It was the perfect way to start my long weekend!

  7. Happy Valentine’s Day Paulina! Okay this story May only be funny to my daughter and me but a couple weeks ago, one of the family’s cats died (very sad for the whole family because he was their favorite cat and his name was Ollie. My daughter puts each of her four children. To bed with a bedtime story and song of their choice. She asked Chris, age six, what song he’d like to hear. His serious reply? Oh Ollie I miss you and I’m sorry that you’re dead. Well when she told me this couldn’t help but burst out laughing and so did she. She said it took everything she had not to laugh out loud as she sat there and made up a song a out Ollie’s cold nose and how they loved and missed him. It is sad I know but also funny. He was such a sweet cat, always on the kid’s beds as she told them stories and then sitting on the bench with them as they are breakfast and dinner each day.. Oh Ollie we miss you….well see you again someday.

  8. I got a Valentine from a student who isn’t my student. He has a had a really rough life and for some reason seems to like me. I can usually talk to him and help him somewhat. It made my day that he remembered me when he has such a hard time! It makes teaching worthwhile!

  9. Oh this is so pretty!!! Something funny… Well it was slightly embarrassing at first but my toddler ran through target the other day saying something’s tickling my booty as we made our way to the bathroom… Oh my! Hehehe!

  10. Here’s something funny! Last week, it was a beautiful warm day and my husband and I decided to take a drive up to Atlanta for a little shopping. As were standing in our driveway cleaning a few things out of the car, our mail carrier drove up and handed us a package (probably more craft supplies). She drives a tiny, low white pick-up truck, with some gear in the back. Just at that moment, as we were exchanging greetings, the neighbor’s GIANT yellow lab came bounding up to the truck, jumped in, and leaped out of the truck with an old leather work boot in his mouth! How he managed to carry it, I have no idea! He happily trotted off through the woods and disappeared, carrying that big boot in his mouth the entire time! My husband jogged after him, but the dog had disappeared into the woods, and it had rained the night before. I told the mail carrier that we would look for the boot in the woods later on, and she drove off with a look that was both confused and annoyed. My husband and I got in the car and headed of down the road past another neighbor’s house when we noticed the big yellow lab and a big brown lab laying in the front yard. “It’s the boot!” I shouted, and my husband slowed the car in front of the dogs. He left the car running, I left the door open, and told him to be ready to take off if I come back running! The yard was a mess, scattered with all kinds of chewed up balls, pieces of patio furniture and yes, a collection of old shoes! The dogs were just laying in the sun, looking at me cheerfully as I gingerly stepped onto the lawn. I bent down, picked up the boot, and the dogs just looks at me curiously. I spoke soothingly to the yellow lab, who then jumped up happily and trotted up to me. I thought I was a goner! He wagged his tail and wanted scratchies, and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to leave. My husband told me later he was leaping out of the car to save me when the big dog sprang up. We finally drove away and found the mail carrier’s little white truck on our way to town.

  11. Happy Valentine’s Day! Hubby and I were going out the other day and in my haste, I put my shirt on inside out, and didn’t realize it until I got home! I did get a few odd looks here and there, and wondered what was up with that…and then I found out. That’s what I get for rushing…or being rushed!

  12. Sweet card! Something funny that happened to me…..hmmmm. Well, my daughter was helping me measure something and the measuring tape snapped back and hit me right in the nose! It hurt, but I imagine my husband and son who were right there got a good laugh!

  13. Something happy and fun I am working on is a birthday card swap, it is sponsored by Afternoon Tea Across America, so I am making 25 tea themed birthday cards with a tea bag included and a tuck in gift. I am making a personalized 4 card note set to add.
I love making cards and my cards will be going to Canada and France as well as across the US. The best part is that when its my birthday in a couple of months I will get 25 birthday cards from all over. It just makes me smile, I thought it was a great idea. Hope it makes you smile as well.

  14. Well, I took my Neenah Solar White 110lb paper to have it cut for cards and coloring. I looked at the girl as she made the first cut and she flinched….I thought maybe she hurt herself. She packed up the paper in a box away from me and sent me on my way. When I got home, I wanted to take the paper and put it away….to my horror….it was cut at so many angles…I could not use the paper except for scraps to color on.

Here is the funny part….they offered to replace the paper with their 110lb card stock. I told them that the paper cost to me was $50 and their cardstock was $16. I was told there was no other option. I went to pick up that paper and it was cut the same way….they said they needed a new blade…funny they did not tell me that when I brought the paper. So I left with a measly $10 coupon and my cuts refunded. Well, I replaced my paper and after contacting the Home Office….they are giving me $50 in coupons.

Had my paper cut today at FEDEX! What a difference! Thank you FEDEX!

Not sure this was funny…just what happened this week! I can now smile and laugh at it!

  15. My current most funny…..and it seems all my funnies come from either my critters or my hubby….lol. Well, this one involves my hubby. Watching a mini interview with an actor from one of our favorite shows……he was shocked to find that one of the actors is British and of course speaks naturally with a British accent. He turned to me and said “Wow….he speaks English!” LOL Well….yea! ROFL

    1. Oops….I was giggling over my funny moment and totally forgot to tell you how much I love your card! I’m a shaker fan, myself and Oh My…..Love love LOVE this one! Just oh so very cute!!! ♥

  16. Something funny…hmmm…let’s see…I was sitting with my grandson the other day and was having trouble getting up from the chair I was sitting in. I recently had a hip replacement, so I have trouble on soft, low sitting furniture. So, his 7 year old mind thought this was funny. Later, my husband had the same such problem. When my grandson saw this he said,” Boy, when you get old, you have a lot of trouble getting out of chairs.” :)

  17. My cousin posted on facebook for all the world to see the Valentines I made for her 2 daughters. It made me very proud and HAPPY.

  18. SUPER SWEET CARD PAMELA!!!! I LOOOVE traditional colors for Valentines & this little jar looks like it’s FILLED with Valentines goodness!!! ;)

Something funny that has happened to me….? My husband took a box recently that we had received some pillows in through the mail & turned it into a little house for our kitties. He added a large enough door for our largest cat, (the door pulls down & lays on the ground—giving it a front porch) & he even gave it a window with shutters. Our littlest kitty thinks it’s her PERSONAL house & will swat the other cats away, she likes to sit on the “porch.” Our son even gets a kick out her. She’ll go in & sit at the window looking out, just as happy as can be! By the way this kitty ADORES my husband! He used some Old Spice Deodorant recently & she woke up from her nap & began sniffing the air, then jumped up & walked on my husband sniffing him. Like she was smelling Cat Nip! She’ll come whenever HE calls her! ;)

Hope that gives you a smile Pamela & gives your day that boost it needs! Where would we be without our little fur-babies? BLESSINGS!!!

  19. Cute card!!! Something funny: I was is desperate need of a hair cut and my hair just wasn’t behaving. I had a meeting I had to get to and I thought my hair looked well..passable. My 12 yr old son looked at me, gave my arm a pat and said, Mom , maybe you should just go with a pony tail today!!!!

  20. My 3 1/2 year grandson was on his way to his Valentine Party at school and I asked him if he had a girlfriend and he responded, “yes, I have 2”. I asked him their names and he turned to his mother and asked, “Mama, what’s their names?”. I was just so cute and innocent.

  21. Fun….yeah…just got back from a week of fun and sun in Puerto Rico…a welcome relief from this cold, snowy northern winter!

  22. The other day I was on the computer & our kitten was sitting on my lap. She was memorized by the movement on the computer screen. She kept making this cute little clicking noise. She was also batting at the mouse on the screen trying to catch it. Sooo cute!

  23. I went to the grocery store the other day and realized about halfway through the store I had forgotten to wash the zap zit off my face so I had white spots all over my face..No one even said anything! Is that funny? Thanks :) And happy Valentines Day to you :)

  24. I walked into this bar and….nah just kidding…i bought a pizza stone for my oven online and it didn’t fit…i went to try it and it was and urgh moment…should have measured twice ;-) ..but now i get to upgrade my stupid oven lol

  25. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Something silly was me trying to get into the wrong car at the PO on Thu. (looked just like my car that was parked two spaces away).

Thanks for the generous prize chance.

  26. Your card is absolutely precious!!! My children and their family all came over last night for dinner. We all sat around wrapping Won Tons for the soup and of course some to fry, and just laughing about all the things from the years past. All in all it was a very fun night and dinner was really yummy too. We only make it once a year!

  27. What a darling Valentine’s Day card. I am not a huge fan of shaker cards but this one is cute and it makes sense to me because a mason jar holds stuff, so it’s logical that movable stuff should be in it. The card is versatile too because it could be used for more than just Valentine’s Day.

Here is a cute thing. I made my granddaughter a pretty easel card that has a matchbox drawer bottom. She loved the card. She goes to the doctor office a lot with her mother for well baby visits (she has 2 baby siblings) and she declared that she was going to show them the card and take orders so grandma could sell her cards. I thought that was so cute.

  28. I hope this ok. I found a good deal on toilet paper and bought 2 packs for my daughter When I took it to her house, my 5 and 6 year old grandchildren were expecting a gift They were disappointed when it was tp. They said they didn’t need it. They wanted me to take it back and get them a gift.

  29. Awesome shaker card! Love all your shaker cards, it’s always so fun with beautiful sequins! Well for fun or silly that happened to me is when my kids tease me about my swollen ankles and feet! They also say it’s puffy like a balloon and its going to pop! Or they say it looks like a turkey leg. Lol… Bad enough my belly looks like it’s going to pop soon!

  30. Love Valentines Day! Your shaker card is so perfect! Love shaker cards! Made heart shaped cookies, muffins & am making heart shaped pizza for our Valentine party tonight with kids & grandkids! And made 12 homemade cards for my family! Happy Valentines Day!

  31. I hope this makes you smile it did me. My husband is an art teacher who’s contract won’t be renewed next fall because the principle wants sports instead. My son comes over and says “it’s okay daddy you can crate with me” we just smiled as I a tear roll down my husbands cheek.

  32. Recently I was walking out of a gas station with a friend and I was telling her that the guy that had just been behind us in line was hot, but she didn’t hear me so I repeated myself a little louder only to realize that he had walked out of the gas station and was right behind me. I was so embarrassed but I laughed and said hi and didn’t notice my friends crutch sticking in front of me and tripped and fell onto the ground. I wanted to die but it was still pretty funny.

  33. I had fun using your Peep a Boo die and made my hubby a Valentine card. Using a Paper Smooches “Love Struck” – cupid is busting out on the card. Your die is fun to use. Happy Valentine!

  34. Well I was going to go cropping with friends today and when I got up this morning it was snowing lightly so I got ready and left. I got about five minutes from home and the wind started to blow and the snow kicked up, so to be safe I turned around and headed back home. An hour later it was clear out so I decided to go to the store and by the time I put on my coat I opened the garage and it was a blizzard. So back inside I went. Now it’s been two hours later and it looks fine out, so again I went to leave and guess what? Whiteout!. I think I will stay home!

  35. So share something funny, lets see :)

someone asked me plans for Saturday and i said I’m watching cricket (the sport) and they looked at me weird. Hours later i realised she was talking about Saturday 14th and was expecting date plans. I love hearts and red so much that I use them all year round and refuse to celebrate only on one day :)

  36. I love your card! That Lawn Fawn set is perfect for this cute card with your Oh so pretty sequins! I love all the red and pink and pretty bow too! Thanks for sharing cuz I love shaker cards!

  37. I’m not at all good at telling funny stories but here it goes… The other day I was at my local Pharmacy standing in a stand still line, it was also very hot in there. The lady in front of me was a bit snotty, talking on her cell about how ridiculous the line was and that “she” had to wait so long to get” her” prescription and that it was so hot in there- she was talking loud on purpose- So she preceded to take her coat off and I look down and she actually had toilet paper hanging out of the back of her pants! lol While I was thinking of a way to tell her, this little boy shouts out- Mommy that lady has a tail!!!!! Well everyone dyed laughing and the lady got so upset, that she stormed off without her prescription! It was soo funny but maybe one of those-You had to be there- moments. Anyway, I hope this at least made you smile today :)

  38. It is snowing quite heavily here today and as I glanced outside to see how much snow had fallen I see a dog bounding through the deep snow and then laying down and rolling over and over again all over the yard. He had such a blissful look on his face and it made me smile big time.

  39. One of my cats loves to drink straight from the sink faucet. Today, I passed by her sitting on the ledge of the sink and started petting and talking to her. After a while I figured she wasn’t thirsty because she hadn’t moved under the faucet, but as I started to leave she put her paw on my arm to stop me! Too cute! When I turned around she moved under the faucet ready to drink her water…Cats are the best!!

  40. Such a cute card! I love it! I don’t have anything silly or funny, but I do have some happy news! We are going to be grandparents for the first time! We just received a new sonogram photo of the little one and it looks like he is praying! My daughter (who lives in CT) had a caption on it saying that the baby is praying for warmer weather! LOL! So cute! I so love your sequins! Such beautiful colors! :)

  41. I love your adorable shaker card, Paulina! I received a lovely and touching Valentine from my daughter who is away at college–it was a happy and touching surprise.

  42. Fantastic mason jar card!! I’m loving all of the red and pink. Vday is one of my favorite holidays for being crafty. Here’s a silly, funny story….this last Tuesday, I was walking through the lobby of my office. Like many people, I was checking my email on my phone while I was walking. I bumped a column with my right shoulder. My response………………I said “excuse me” to the column!!!! I couldn’t help but laugh at myself. Luckily, no one was around to hear me be so polite to the column. Hope that made you smile, at least.

  43. Happy Valentine’s Day! Your creations make people happy! My funny story: my husband and I exchanged our small gifts to each other today and we bought each other very similar gifts! I got him a coffee travel mug and coffee and he gave me a tea travel mug and loose tea! We had a nice laugh about how we so think alike!

  44. I was at work this morning and my hubby orchestrated our three munchkins making Valentine’s Day cards for me while I was gone – he even made one too! They used my paper, punches (hearts and butterflies) and embellies – including sequins of course! They even made some for their grandparents too. It was very sweet to come home to!

  45. Happy Valentine’s Day Paulina, I just love your shaker card! I can tell when our dog knows its the weekend, cause he starts jumping up and down like there’s no tommorow, makes us laugh every single weekend!

  46. Happy Valentines Day, Paulina! This is super pretty! I love how you used the mason jar die to create a shaker card. As usual, your sequins are gorgeous and I love the mix of colors (and the little bees)!

A little silly/funny to share – we’ve had a lot of snow in my area (and lot of COLD) and we have a little dog who must still go outside to do her business. Not only do we make sure we are well protected when we go outside, we have to make sure she is protected as well so we put a cute little fleece coat on her as well as little booties. Normally, she’s quick to go out and right back in. Today she was in a mood to walk (much to my dismay) so we walked so she could find the “perfect spot.” Unfortunately for her, the perfect spot she found was a little sheet of ice that neither one of us realized until too late. As she was doing her business, she started to slide sideways and her little eyes started to bug out and she started to scramble wildly to get her legs back under her which made it only worse. I couldn’t do anything but laugh because she looked so comical. Finally, she relaxed and slid into a little pile of snow and calmly walked off all the while looking at me like I insulted her by laughing.

  47. happy thoughts for Valentine’s Day – my daughter and son-in-law took me out for lunch at Outback Steak House. My son brought me carnations and some links of sausage (is there a pattern of everybody feeding me?) The craft room closet has been finished and I can start putting stuff back in the closet. It is now open (no doors), enlarged, and has lots of shelving. It will be so nice to get it re-stocked. A lot more trouble to put things back in than it was to take them out.
    Happy Valentine’s Day.

  48. Well something happy is that my boyfriend and I of 4 years just bought a house together!

  49. I would love to win a gift card to the Pretty Pink Posh shop! I’ve been looking into buying some sequins, and with the gift card I would buy some, and if I liked them, I would be sure to buy more! I love the colors of the sequins, and I know many people that like them, so I’m sure I would too. Now for the funny thing that happened to me recently…I was going up to someone because I “knew” them. I say hi and they turn around and I realize it’s not who I thought it was! Oops! Haha

  50. Excited for what’s coming from PPP!!! A few things :) hope they make you happy too! Didn’t get flowers for valentines from my guy because he wanted to give me more in a gift card for crafty purchases!!! :D had a really rough week at work but supervisor said I deserve a rockstar award for managing well. Was asked to be a guest designer for a blog.

  51. cute shaker card! with my boys there are lots of happy and silly moments. this morning was one of those happy moments when I gave them their valentines!

  52. I only have 4-legged kids. while trying to discipline a 6-month old kitten, she did that face-upside-down-how-can-I-do-any-wrong thing!!!! yeah, bad Mom, laughing instead of following through!!! :D (love this card!)

  53. Happy Valentine’s Paulina! What an ADORABLE card!!! My happy for the day? Hubby surprised me and took me out to breakfast, and when we got home, our daughters had cleaned the house to surprise us! Super sweet! Not funny exactly, but sure was fun! :-)

  54. Happy Valentines Day! I have a Rat Terrier dog, named Brady. I swear he has an inner clock in him. Every afternoon at 2:30 he comes to where I’m sitting and puts his paws up on my lap or arm and looks at me with those sweet eyes. He sure tugs at my heart strings. He’ll do this every 10 mins. because I don’t feed him til 3:30. It’s now 4:14 and he’s curled up on the couch sound asleep; he has a full tummy. I love my dog.

  55. My son said to me today, ” not even chocolate?” When I handed him a v-day card. I thought it was so funny!

  56. Happy Valentine’s day to you Paulina. I am so happy today I just have to share that I spent the day at church making dresses for littles girls in Haiti. I feel so blessed that I can help in this mission project and that all those girls will be so happy to be wearing them. Just a note that each of the dresses were made from pillowcases and we attached a little beanie baby to each of the dresses too:-)) they look absolutely adorable!!!

  57. I work in a kindergarten classroom. I can’t tell you enough about how fun their Valentine’s Day party was. The looks on their faces as they opened each valentine from their friends was priceless. Such love in that room.

  58. My hubby and I just got back a few minutes ago from our granddaughter Melodie’s birthday party. Today she turned 2. (We say she is our love grand baby). We were getting ready to go and I asked her to come to me to give me a hug and kiss, which she did. My hubby then asked her to come to give him a hug and kiss. When she got there with her arms open wide, he picked her up and then gave her a hug, but instead of putting her down took her toward the door and said now we will go home together. Melodie’s eyes went wide and then she started to cry, thinking she was being taken away from her mommy and daddy. We all laughed, because of the delayed reaction of her. From her eyes going so big to the time she started to cry. My husband promptly gave her to her mommy and was quickly settled down. I really had good time there and I love being able to see my sweet granddaughter, may the Lord truly bless her! :D <3

  59. Paulina, your shaker is fabulous! A happy experience for me this week was receiving a card from a blogging friend in Germany (I live in Canada), who created a shaker for me, filled with your gorgeous sequins and using one of your darling tags! Talk about a wonderful Valentine’s Day surprise! I’m smiling allll over my face!
    Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
    Hugs~c

  60. My parents and me and my sister came over here to the USA when I was 5, in 1956 from Germany. No one could speak English. Once we got settled in Troy, Ohio my mom went to the butcher to get some pork for New Year’s Day. She wanted pigs feet. So she was trying to tell the butcher pig feet pig feet pointing to her hands. Butcher didn’t understand. So she got out her German/English dictionary and said to the butcher, “I want pig paws, pig paws!” Lol we still laugh about that. Hope this makes you smile. i have many more such stories if you want to hear them. Lol

  61. I watch two of my granddaughters a couple times a week. The girls are 3yrs and 14mos. It’s lunch time and the girls are doing a messy job of eating lunch. I try to ignore the mess and keep up a running monologue to them. I picked up a piece of tyvek that I had painted and heated with a heat gun. As I was showing it to the 3yr old there was a big sneeze! Grammy ran for the tissue, sigh not in time . . . Little angel had wiped her nose on the tyvek and had gone back to eating. Split my sides laughing, so much for art.

  62. Love your Valentine shaker card. I can’t think of anything to make you laugh but I am happy because we are celebrating the 9th birthday of my first grandchild today.

  63. my sister told me this story just yesterday – she was attending a seminar and the speaker told them this cute and funny story: a wife told her husband when he got home that there was a kitty up in the tree and it was stuck in the tree. so the husband thought i will just tie a rope to the tree and then tie the end to my car and slowly drive forward thereby bending the tree forward till i could reach the kitty. unfortunately just as the tree bent over in half the rope broke sending the kitty in the air flying off to somewhere. he quickly looked around the neighborhood without success. later in the week he bumped into a neighborhood lady who had kitty food and litter in her cart. he knew that she did not like cats so what’s up? the lady stated that her daughter asked for a kitty and she asked her mom if I pray to God for a kitty and He gives me one can I keep it? mom thought that would never happen so “sure” she said. So while they were outside the little girl prayed aloud for a kitty. lo and behold all of a sudden a kitty landed by her daughter’s feet from the sky! the mom was astonished and could only let her daughter keep the kitty after promising her that she could if God answered her prayers! hope this gives you a smile!

  64. This year our children’s school decided to take all food out of school parties…well the room mom who is a scrap booker decided to do a craft party instead. I was in charge of the card making table and it was so nice to see the students create with their wonderful sense of creativity and innocence. I loved seeing them do things like discover the fun of washi tape and then inlaying die cuts! Fun how kids brains work and they just create for the love of creating.
Love your shaker card…its adorable and the bow is just so pretty!

  65. Love that awesome shaker card!
Something fun, happy, or silly… hmmm! In December, I got to visit Disneyland! Hadn’t been there in about 9 years. It still holds all the magic that it did for me when I was a kid! That was both fun and happy!

  66. My little son said ‘I play minecraft 2 minutes, 2 hours’. It doesn’t translate well but he was so cute doing it! He’s three and has these huge eyes and he’s amazingly good at playing Minecraft for being so little!

  67. Nice card ans happy Valentine! Nothing especially funny, sort but take care,

  68. Super cute card!!! While I was working at my local scrapbook store today in walked my youngest son( 8 years old) with a heart balloon and a pink vase with artificial pink roses for me from the dollar store. His idea — made my day. Then he decided to make the card for our make n take. My crafting buddy!!!!

  72. Your card is adorable!

I had a pleasant surprise yesterday. I’m the secretary of a small, rural K-8 school. I rarely get Valentine’s from the kids, but yesterday I got something even better. One of my sweet little kindergartners, named Ziva, is usually very shy and quiet. I’ve rarely heard her say more than a few words at a time. But yesterday, she came hurrying into my office with a box full of Fun Dip and Valentine cards. She asked me if I’d like to pick out a fun dip, and then she dug through her bag until she found the little card with my name written on it. She chatted with me about the cards and how she wrote the names herself. And best of all, I got a big hug before she hurried off to the principal’s office to deliver her next treat. :) Totally made my day!

  73. Happy V day! Lovely card. Something fun was that I wanted to order something from SSS and my daughter said don’t order today we will order over the weekend. Little did I know, I will be getting a packet by my daughters from SSS for Valentine day :)

  74. As I’m sitting here thinking of something funny to tell you, my Great Dane/Mastiff mix just walked up to me with my daughters Elsa doll in his mouth, then walked to his food bowl and put the doll in his dish. I guess he is ready for breakfast! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

  75. LOVE this beautiful shaker card!!
The other day I thought I was home alone and was having quite the conversation with my dog and cat. I was answering myself in different voices as if they were talking back to me for over an hour.
Unbeknownst to me my son had stayed home from work and was in his bedroom taping my conversation! He threatened to post it on Facebook and I had to use bribery to keep my silly little secret to myself!
Needless to say, I will be checking his room before I have anymore conversations with the pets! LOL
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day even though you are single! That is all the more reason to treat yourself to something sweet and something crafty! ((HUGS))

  76. One more funny thing that happened recently. My cat who is about 1 year old is obsessed with our toilet. The lid has to be up so he can sit on the seat. One day, as I was laying in bed trying to take a nap, I noticed that he was perched on the seat with his butt hanging over the bowl, then there was a PLOP! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing so I got up and went into the bathroom and sure enough~ he did his poopies in the toilet! I was totally flabbergasted because I had heard of cats doing that but never seen it for myself. He has done it a couple more times since. I am hoping he starts doing it all the time!

  77. Darling card!! Love those shaker cards:) Yesterday for Valentines Day I wanted to share some love so I loaded up my car with food and drove around town giving it away to homeless people!! My heart filled up just seeing the look on their faces when I gave them their goodies knowing that someone cared about them: )

  78. Adorable card! I’m not sure if this is “funny” funny but we chuckled. We decided we’d go to one of our favorite restaurants for Valentine’s dinner. They opened at 4 so we figured if we got there at 4, we should be fine- in and out before the crowd. We got there to find a line of about 30 people before us. It’s a small place so it didn’t bode well. As it turned out, they do have more seating than I realized so we, and the next 10 or so people behind us got in. However, by the time we left, there were loads of people waiting for seats and we had to push through to get out. We definitely chuckled at how we underestimated the desire to go out, particularly to this place.

  79. I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! My favorite part was giving out treats to family, friends and teachers. That makes me happiest of all!

  80. Your are such a bright light in the paper-crafting community, Paulina! Thank you SO much for guest designing over Virginia’s View Challenge! Your big talent and generosity are much appreciated!!!

  81. I am happy that I am about to become a first time grandmother – not once but twice. Both my daughters are expecting with due dates 9 days apart.

  82. Love the card and all of the stuff at ppp. I read some of these comments and laughed. I recently did something funny to one of my coworker’s. You see she jumps over everything and screams and we all have a good laugh, even her. So I put on a Halloween mask went outside and popped up in the window while she was standing there. The look on her face was priceless! We all had a good laugh and she was a good sport and laughed as well. I have a great group of coworkers and we get along great. Thanks for the giggles!

  83. My daughter just had to get a tooth pulled and she had her first experience with the tooth fairy. She was very happy to get a gold coin but she was also asking for her tooth back. So cute.

  84. cute card…funny story..my friend loves Elvis. For Valentine’s Day my husband and I gave her a magazine with his photo on the cover. She asked her 4 year old grandson who is this? He said grandpa, we all turned to look at her husband and indeed he does resemble the late Elvis….her husband just looked at us and said, Thank you, thank you very much…we all just laughed,,,lol

  85. Here’s a laugh on me. Two of my dogs were fighting. I picked up one and the other was jumping up nipping at the one I was holding. He managed to grab hold of my pants which he proceeded to pull right down. To make matters worse my son and one of his friends were in the room. Not sure which of us was more embarrassed…I’m thinking me.

  86. I asked my hubby to buy steak for our valentine’s day dinner. We very rarely have steak so I thought it would be a nice treat. Guess what he found? A heart shaped ribeye steak at the local meat market. Really! Heart shaped! So funny but it tasted very good!

  87. Hi Pauline! Happy Valentine’s! We spent today with our daughter and her family, out to breakfast and shopping. We we in one of those stores with the hiking jackets and gear. It was the second one in 30 minutes. Millie, our grand baby is 2 and a half, her speech if phenomenal. She’d been up down and all around the second store with Grandfather and then we sat together on a big window sill near the door. There was a little fake pine tree and I said to her, oh look at this cute Christmas tree, then I teased her, Don’t you touch my tree because it’s prickly. She teased me back, Don’t touch it, but I did. She grabbed my shirt sleeve with both of her hands and said, Did you hear what I said? , in the same tone we use with her when she doing something she was told not to do. I roared with laughter for several minutes because it was so seriously funny. Thanks for this sweet giveaway.

  88. Your shaker card is so lovely Paulina. I am dory you have been a bit down in the dumps. Winter can do that to people. I now live in Florida but one of my best of memories of cheer in the midst of a long, cold, dreary Midwest winter was one morning while our boys (at the time age 4 and 5) were sitting at the table near the kitchen window, they heard a knock on the window. They pulled back the curtains to see a miniature snowman peeking in the window sitting on the outside window sill. Their dad had made the little guy complete with the tip of a carrot for a nose and mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. Thinking of that still makes me smile.

  89. Aww… Such a nice card! Few days ago, my uncle taught my lil boy to say ‘I Love You’ and he said ‘Er-U’ with very cute and cheeky expression on his face. We all laughed and he also laughed. Since then, “Er-U! Hahahaha….” is his version of I love You. So… Er-U Hahahaha!

  90. Very cute card Paulina! Great LF stamp set too! Valentine’s day is a great holiday and the colors of pink and red really pop and make me smile! I’m sure they do the same for you too right? =)
Something silly that happened to me was actually on Valentine’s day… my 11 yr old daughter decided to put on a Valentine dance for the family and as she was dancing away… she ended up falling on her butt and as she tried to get back up, fell down again! She didn’t get hurt thankfully but our floor was extremely slippery from being waxed and we all couldn’t help but laugh knowing that she was okay …. it was extremely cute to say the least!
    Hugs,
    Jo

  91. SUPER CUTE shaker Paulina!!!
LOVE the pink & red together – I need to try that combo, LOVE your sequin-filled mason jar window too!!!
It has been SO MUCH FUN reading everyone’s commented and stories :)
Been a rough here, not much crafting. I did start to dabble with Zentangle and wanted to use my panel for a card front but couldn’t work out what to do without making it look weird, so I asked my husband. He AWESOMELY replied “why don’t you fussy cut it?” – it was the PERFECT idea and was SO COOL that he knew of it and that it would work – I am SO LUCKY to have THE BEST ASSISTANT & CRAFT ENABLER IN THE WORLD as my husband and best friend!!!

    1. oops – it has been a rough few weeks here is what I meant to say, sorry that my fingers didn’t do what they were told to type!!!

  92. Happy Valentines everyone! Absolutely love your shaker card so pretty. Yesterday I was trying and I mean trying to trim my furbaby’s hair, he was not happy about it. I’ve not been well and thought I would do it as I felt able enough…well with all the whooofing and trying to get away from me I tried to get myself off the floor only to fall backwards onto my buttom….not funny than but is now!!! As soon as I fell Brucie grapped the opportunity to get away and he did.

  93. OMG OMG OMG!! LOVING your SWEET Card!! We went to Colorado for a work Trip so my parents watched our boys Beckett 8 yrs.and Greyson 2 yrs. Old!! My mom knows my boys LOVE to eat Pretzels for a snack so for a SPECIAL Treat for Valentine’s Day she decided to make some home made Heart Shaped Pretzels and then made some Cheese Sauce too!! She was ALL EXCITED and had the boys at the Table along with my dad for the snack!! They were eattingand all of the sudden Greyson made a REALLY FUNNY FACE and said “YUCK”!! It caught my mom off guard and they all started laughing!! Greyson isn’t usually a picky eater so it was pretty FUNNY!! ;) wish I would have been there!! Hope this makes you smile just a little!!?? Thanks for sharing and have a Fabulous Week!! ;)

  94. What a fun and festive card!
My fun/happy thing was when We went to my 7 yr. old grandsons basketball game. My husband brought the video camera and during the game, my grandson spotted my hub with the camera, stopped and was smiling at the camera, while all the other kids were running to the other end of the court! Too funny :-)

  95. Love your shaker card; so very cute.

My 5 year old great niece Brynn always cracks me up.

Brynn says: “you are my favorite Aunt Carol”

I say: “Really, that’s so nice”.

Brynn says: “It’s not like I have another Aunt Carol”.

I’d love to tell you about her latest homework assignment but I’m not sure
    it would be appropriate.

  96. Love this so much!!!! Hmm, I guess my something funny/silly would be that one of my cats was sleeping on the back of the sofa the other day, and I guess he was in a deeeep sleep because when one of my other boys (cats) made a noise jumping on something/playing, he woke up so fast that it startled him and he started sliding off the back of the sofa and rolled off onto the floor! He was fine of course, but it was so funny because it almost looked like it was I slow-motion! LOL

  97. Something that has made me very happy lately is my son picking out my valentine’s day gift all by himself and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  98. I love the mason jar shaker card you made–what a fun idea! My son is a total dingbat about when school projects are due. They recently had a day off, and I asked him about homework. He pulls out a project sheet for a major grade project and he hadn’t put the due date on it. He had no idea when it was due. I just knew it’d be due 1st day back to school, so made him complete it on his day off. Made him so grumpy. That night the teacher sent out a text saying to bring your supplies for the project to work on it in class the next day. Son was so not happy with me. Oops! :)

  99. What’s Luke Skywalker’s favorite car? A Toy yoda!
How is Ducktape like the Force? It has a Dark Side, a Light side and it binds the galaxy together.
What did the rancor say after he ate a Wookiee? Mmmm..Chewie!

Hope you like Star Wars! :)
