Wow, why can’t I stop blog hopping?! It’s amazing how easy it is to go from one blog to another, and how quickly time passes when you do! I stumbled across this blog not too long ago. Julee has lots of cute cards and sketches, and she also posts regularly! If you want to participate in this weeks challenge, click here.
I made this 3-D card for my mom’s 40th birthday. It was definitely a work of love…I didn’t think it was going to be that time consuming! I have to admit, it was fun to look back on old photos and reminisce about the good ‘ol days. (I’m starting to sound old!) Of course, it was hard to narrow down the photos, but I think I captured a good amount of time with a few amount of photos. I was originally going to write “Mom” on the front, but the stickers I had only had one “M” left!
I wanted the card to have a lot of personality and yet look sophisticated at the same time. Even just the littlest details can really add a lot to a project. I added several jewels, tiny bows and 3-D stickers all along the inside. On the back side, I found a really sweet poem about Mothers on the web. Of course, I had to type it in a pretty font and add some jewels….the back is just as important as the front!
I stumbled across a new sketch site this past week. I thought the sketch was perfect, so I had to participate. It was really hard to narrow which stamps and colors I wanted to use- this sketch can take you anywhere! I’m not 100% satisfied with the end result, but I couldn’t figure out what else it needed. What do you all think?
When I saw the adds for Wal-Mart on Wednesday, I didn’t see anything that I wanted. I have still been feeling pretty crummy, so I didn’t even think I would go out shopping. After flipping through the ads for the millionth time, I stumbled across something I hadn’t seen earlier. It was the beautiful Cricut Expression. I have heard SO much about die cut machines in the past few months, but had never considered getting one. (Those were for people who had extra money to spend and who were really into crafting.) After looking at several YouTube videos and going to the Cricut website and seeing everything they can do, I decided that I was indeed going to purchase this expensive “toy”. I figured if I didn’t want it, I could always return it. Wal-Mart was selling them today for $199- they usually run for $499. Yes, that is correct….a savings of $300! After sleeping on my purchase (waking up at 3:30 is no fun, no matter what day it is) I decided that I was indeed going to keep it and try it out. Let’s just say, I’m going to be crafting more these days! It’s so fun and ever so easy too! I’ll post projects soon!
I’m so glad that I finally get to do one of Kristina’s Challenges! I have browsed her blog for endless hours these past few weeks- she is so talented! The colors this week are so gorgeous, I couldn’t pass up the challenge this time. I was prepared to make a Christmas card, but I’m so in love with these new stamps that I just HAD to use them. Here is a sneak peek of the new 2009 DeNami Design collection….
Whew! It’s the end of my work week! I started this card on Tuesday, but haven’t had a chance to finish until tonight. I forgot that the computer is in the shop, so the scanner is not in service. It was so hard to get a picture of this card. I’m most likely going to scan this card once the scanner is connected again…..
Woohoo! Now the scanner is working again- I am back in business! :)
This week I have been itching to work on Kazan’s sketch, but didn’t get a chance to until today. I first made the B-day card, which was difficult since it had to be masculine. (This is a VERY hard thing for me- I LOVE pink and glitter too much!) It didn’t turn out as nicely as I wanted, but at least I got the card made. :) Since I already had practice with this sketch, I decided to make a baby card too. This one was SO much easier- Lots of pink, and I even got to use the polka dot ribbon!
I have been admiring all the sketches for quite a while, but never got up the courage to actually work on one. Lately, after looking at many different crafting blogs, I have been inspired to create some new projects. I was a little hesitant actually posting this, but I figured that since I haven’t created anything for quite a long time, it was a good start.
Yes, I was sick this whole weekend…actually, I am still not 100% better. I have a sore throat and my voice is raspy. (Thankful there wasn’t too many customers calling in today.) I was so excited to hang out with all of my siblings this weekend and go to a corn maze but alas, I was so under the weather that all I could do was lay in bed. I was also looking forward to going to the Bunko night at my church but that too never came to pass. Oh, quick side note: I have NEVER drank a whole cup of tea until this weekend. I don’t know if it’s because I have had so much lately, or my taste buds are messed up, but now I’m starting to like it! For those of you that know me well, this is a SHOCKER! Before work today I went and got some honey to go with my Vanilla Chai Tea…it was yummy! I do miss my Starbucks, but the word is that you’re supposed to stay away from dairy while you’re sick, and I’m also going to cut back on that habit….I really am! Well, my body is still fighting something and my eyes are getting very sleepy so I’m going to head to bed.
Yes, I have given into the Fall season and started drinking my Pumpkin Spice Lattes again. It was so hard to resist it when I saw it being advertised at Starbucks and also having the weather turn cold and my body needing something warm to drink. Now most of you may know that I had given up my coffee addiction….yeah, that has stopped and now I can get enough! The first day back on the bandwagon wasn’t so great. I got a horrible headache and wondered why I had decided to get coffee that morning, but of course I HAD to give it one more shot. The next day I got my PSL again and well, I’ve been drinking them ever since. Not so great on the wallet and hips, but my tummy loves it!
