Glittery Cornstalks

Good morning!
It’s that time again- time for a new DeNami Product Spotlight! This time around, I’m so excited that we are showcasing the yummy Cornstalks. This is one of my favorite Autumn stamps- I just love coloring all the corn and of course, adding glitter! With every corn field, there has to be a Scarecrow. Seriously, could there be a cuter one? ;)
Now for the deets of the card….. I was so inspired by this card that Amy created. Love how she made super tall cornstalks! I decided I would do something similar for this card. You all know how much I love to mask; this was a fun one to do. I added touches of Citrone glitter on the corn, then a tad bit of Crystal Lacquer for the Scarecrow’s overalls and hat.
Don’t forget to visit the DeNami DT blogs- there are so many creative ideas using this stamp!
I hope that you were inspired to create some Thanksgiving cards. Be sure to visit the DeNami Design blog for even more ideas, along with links to the Facebook page and details of the upcoming blog hop!

Enjoy the Holidays

Happiest of Mondays to you!
Today I have a card that is full of Christmas goodness. Holly + gingerbread men= time for Christmas! I pulled out my recently purchased Bountiful Baskets Additions for this fun card. I had so much fun coloring these little guys in; however, it did make me want some gingerbread cookies afterward!
Have any of you started your Christmas cards? Since my family usually sends out a family card, I tend to not send out too many. However, I do like to give some to my closest friends. Since my style is all over the place and I get bored easily, I usually don’t create just one style of card. I *try* to make them as personal as possible, so I’ll use their favorite colors or create something that I think they’ll like. Yes, it’s more work, but it makes it that much more special. ;)
Tomorrow I’ll be back with the DeNami Featured Product post. Let’s just say, if you’re in need of some Autumn inspiration, you’re definitely going to find it on the DeNami DT blogs!
Hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by!

…:::Blessed:::…

There are many days where I wonder how I was blessed with such a great job. I get to work with my family  PLUS I get to interact with so many wonderful people. Everyone from sweet customers to vendors to the amazing DeNami DT gals.

Over the years, some people have asked where I worked and I would reply in an email. I’ve never outright said it on the blog. Maybe it was fear that people wouldn’t consider it a “real job” since I work with family. Or it might be that I didn’t want people to think I was bragging. Either way, I’m past that now. I have a job that I truly enjoy (well, 95% of the time) and I am content with where I am. Each day brings me something new, which is perfect since I get bored easily. As with any job, there are tough days, but the good days far outweigh the “bad” ones.

So, for those who don’t know, you may be asking where I work now. I work for my parents at DeNami Design. I’m the person that usually answers your phone calls and responds to emails. I’m also the one who writes up the blog posts and coordinates everything web related. Yes, there are lots of other things that I do, but those are my favorite. :) I truly love interacting with customers through Facebook and emails, and also the occasional show. There’s something about connecting with people, who enjoy our products, that I enjoy so very much!

If you are one of the many people who I’ve interacted with, thank you for making my job possible. Thank you for the kind words and comments, and even the occasional criticism; those are also helpful! If we haven’t had the chance to connect, hopefully we will in the future!

Well, I hope you all have a super great Sunday. I’ll see you soon, if it’s not here, then it’ll be on the DeNami blog tomorrow! :)

Practicing Creativity Fun

Hello there!
Today I have a very fun card to share featuring Practicing Creativity. I was able to use three sets on this card- Chatterbox, My Beach House and Retro Christmas Backgrounds. On the recent release, Dana created this bag and did a striped background that I just loved. I just had to try it out for myself! It did take quite a while, since I used three inks, but I just love the end result. I’ll have to do this again….
You all have been so sweet about giving me comments about my pictures. I know I am far from a professional- thank goodness for Photoshop! If any of you have tips, I would LOVE to hear them.
So, what do you all think of this color combo? I know it’s far from the “norm” for me. Quite often I feel like my cards look the same, so I try to switch it up. :) Oh, did you notice that I used the Aqua grosgrain w/ satin edge? This was the very first time I used it and I LOOOOVE it. Definitely going to be using this again!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Have a fabulous day!

Color Cue Challenge #9

Hi there!
It seems like it’s been ages since I played along in a Color Cue Challenge on Dawn’s blog. Each and every time I mean to play along, then I get busy or my projects are too horrible to post. However, for this amazing Color Cue Challenge #9, I just HAD to make something. Pink, white and gray was just to good to pass up!
For the card I pulled out my neglected Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions set. I used this set so much when I first got it, but then other sets have come along and sadly, it was put aside. However, it’s back again and I loved using it; just as much as when I got it! Oh, did I mention that I got this pretty satin ribbon at my dollar store? Love finding these kinds of things!
Well, I need to be heading to bed. Tomorrow I have lots of errands to run and need to wake up early. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love!

Oldie but Goodie

Hello there!

It is definitely starting to feel like Fall around these parts. Each morning when I wake up, I just want to stay in bed because it’s too cold to get ready! Then I go outside and get made at myself for not wearing a thicker jacket or scarf. I think it’s time to get clothes shopping again….gotta get some new boots, a jacket and some sweaters!

Today’s card features an older DeNami stamp, the Swirl Tree. We recently had a warehouse sale and I stumbled across this beauty again. I couldn’t help but pull it out and get it for my stash. Love the lines and it’s super fun to color! I added LOTS of Extra Fine glitter– almost makes it look like snow. ;)

Did you see the latest DeNami news? We’re doing a CHRISTMAS blog hop next month! I am beyond excited about this one. My dilemma? What stamp(s) should I use? If there is a Christmas stamp you’d like to see used, let me know. I’m not promising anything, but I’ll do my best to use it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you were inspired to pull out YOUR oldie but goodie!

Thank You Kites

You all are so fabulous….thanks for the kind words about my candy bags and the pictures! I was so hesitant about posting pictures, but since I got your thumbs up, I’ll give it a whirl. My biggest problem is lighting. Since I craft at night, that’s the only time I can take pictures. Thank goodness for a semi decent camera and a flash! One of these days I’ll need to get tips from some pros. (*ahem* Ashley Cannon Newell or Laurie Willison)
Today’s card features the kite from You’re Dandy. Courtney has released a lot of great sets, but I still think this one is my favorite. I just love the kite and those dandelions are so darn fun to use! I used my cloud dies to add some more dimension, then I just HAD to sneak in polka dots and rhinestones. I feel like a card is missing without these two things. ;)
That’s all for today. Thanks for spending some time with me. *hugs*

Halloween Treat Bags

Hi there, sweet blog friends!
I have a confession to make….I am a scatter brained crafter. One day I am creating Christmas cards, the next I’m doing an Autumn project and now today I have a Halloween project. Goodness, I really am all over the place. Does this bother you? Would you rather me stick to just one holiday/ season at a time?
Today’s project is a super easy one, but I must say, I think it’s pretty darn cute. I always love seeing the adorable spider from the Halloween stamp set. I paired him up with the Mini Star, then added some Orange and Black grosgrain ribbon and some buttons from the Halloween Boutique Buttons set. I used some of my newly purchase bakers twine and I was done! This would be perfect for favors at a Halloween party, or even something just to give to co-workers or friends!
If you follow my blog, you know that I rarely take pictures of my projects. It started out because I didn’t have a camera. Then, I got one but wasn’t able to achieve decent looking pictures. Now that I kind of (using that loosely) have the hang of my camera, I’m debating on whether to take pictures of my cards/ projects.
Blog friends, now is the time to let me know your thoughts! Pics or scans? The choice really is up to you. :)
Thanks for your input! Can’t wait to hear what you all say…..

OTWC Challenge #28

Good morning!
Oh goodness, wasn’t the DeNami Autumn Blog Hop yesterday lots of fun? I was so inspired by the beautiful Autumn and Thanksgiving cards- I wish we could do a blog hop everyday! :) If you haven’t checked out the hop, be sure to do so. You’ll love all the different cards + you could win a gift certificate if you leave a comment!
Yesterday, after looking at the blog hop cards, I felt so inspired to stamp. I made five cards, which is pretty good for a Sunday afternoon! My sweet friend, Michele, recently sent me the Kisses & Cuddles set as a surprise. Oh my word, this girl is such a sweetheart. I have the great pleasure of working with her on the DeNami DT and am amazed at her talent and her big heart.
Now onto the card….. as soon as I saw Kim’s OTWC Challenge #28, I knew I had to make time to play along. Since it had been way too long since I used my WPlus9 stamps, I just had to pull them out for this card. I used the Design Basics: Backgrounds I on the card base, then my beloved new Kisses & Cuddles set for the focal point and sentiment. I seriously LOVE this font…wish I had lots of sentiments with it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you were inspired. Have a fabulous Monday!

Embellish Felt Color Challenge

Friday Greetings!
Today I have a card for the new Embellish Felt Color Challenge!  Oh goodness, this one was a toughy for me. I had a hard time with the colors and I had no idea how to incorporate felt. However, I finally came to one that was somewhat decent. :) I created a felt scallop border, and also die cut a felt butterfly. It’s a tad bit hard to see in the picture, but it really does have a lot of texture.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? As I wrote in my last post, today I’m baby sitting all day. I just love the kiddos that I’m watching- seriously if it was at all possible to have blue eyed, blonde children, I’d want them to look like these kids. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, sweet friends! Have a great rest of your weekend.
