Christmas Tag Inspiration + Video

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather Hoffman here today with a fun and festive Christmas tag to share with you as part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags! I absolutely love the gorgeous Stitched Poinsettia Dies – and for this project I’m sharing a fun inky technique to color them!

I die cut all the layers of the Stitched Poinsettia dies from watercolor paper, then used an assortment of distress inks for a smooshing technique. I smooshed some ink on a non-stick mat, misted with a bit of water, then dipped each of the pieces into the colors, layer by layer to add fun variation in colors. For the petals I used Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, and Worn Lipstick. The leaves use Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint, and the center of the poinsettia are colored with Fossilized Amber.

While those layers dried, I did some ink blending with the Fossilized Amber ink on the tag which was die cut from Stitched Duo 1 dies. This helps tie all the colors together from front to back, and adds a bit of interest behind the poinsettia. I also stamped my sentiment from Holiday Greetings on there before adhering the poinsettia in place.

A touch of sheer ribbon on the top after punching a hole with a hole punch, and some sparkly Buttercream jewels finish this tag off. Once all the layers dried thoroughly, I also curled up the edges of the poinsettia and it’s leaves to add even more dimension to the finished tag!

Happy Thanksgiving Shaker + Video

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather Hoffman here today to share a fun sparkly Thanksgiving Shaker card with you using a mix of fun sparkly Pretty Pink Posh embellishments for shaker fillings!

I love how this kind of feels like a snowglobe – but a fall theme one! The adorable Thanksgiving Scene stamp set is such a fun mini stamp set – I love that the scene building is already done for you! And the largest Window Frame die set is perfect to create a look in the window.

I filled the shaker with a mix of Gold Shimmer Seed Beads, Gold Mini Star Confetti, and Sparkling Clear 3mm Sequins. A final finishing touch is the bow at the top from Twine and Bows die set – love those bows for little touches like this!

Create A Scene: Winter Snowglobe

Today I have a snowglobe scene card to share. By adding a simple shaped die, the Winter Scene can be transformed into a snowglobe. I think it would be fun to turn this snowglobe into a shaker card too.

I began with the candy cane background. I used the fabulous Simple Strips die set. The variety of sizes in this set make it easy to create different patterns.

I die cut two different width strips from red and white card. On a piece of thin copy paper, I adhered some stick-it adhesive. I gradually removed the backing, revealing the adhesive, and added the die cut strips to create my pattern. I then trimmed down my homemade patterned paper and adhered it to a white card base.

Next, I die cut the Winter Scene die three times – from white and pearlescent green card, along with white glitter card. I also die cut a separate circle from white glitter card to adhere the scene pieces. I layered the three frames together on the circle die cut, with the glitter frame at the top.

On the white die cut trees, I used a brown copic marker to colour the tree trunks. I then adhered the white card hills and trees to the card, along with the pearlescent green sky.

By layering elements of the scene, it adds dimension. I cut the trunks off the white glitter trees, then adhered them and the white glitter hills to my scene. I then changed my mind and decided I wanted green glitter trees instead, so die cut them and added them to the scene.

To turn the Winter Scene die into a snowglobe, I die cut a Stitched Hexagon die from woodgrain card. I cut the hexagon in half to create the stand for my snowglobe, adhering it behind the Winter Scene.

I die cut some Stitched Strips from dark green pearlescent card, along with a white pearlescent Simple Strip, which I’ll use to ground my snowglobe in the scene. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Happy Snowman stamp set.

You could finish the card here but I decided to add a Happy Snowman next to the snowglobe. I coloured him with copic markers and die cut him with the coordinating die, then used foam tatape to add him to the scene.

For some finishing touches, I gave the snowman some Graphite jewels buttons and added some Pearl White jewels to the snowglobe sky.

Stenciling With Mayra: Bold Poinsettias

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday. Mayra here with you today. I have another fun stenciling project to share with you. Since we are already in November (can you believe it?!), I chose to create a Christmas themed card.

I began by coloring the beautiful poinsettias from the Poinsettias stamp set. I used Copic markers to color them in. I used R93, R05, R17, and R46. For the leaves, I used YG11, YG63, G94, and YG99.

Next, I die cut a panel for my card using the stitched rectangle from the Stitched Notes die set. I then added a bit of adhesive to the back of the die-cut panel and adhered it to my craft surface. Then, I placed the lovely Christmas Background stencil where I wanted it to be and added a bit of post-it tape to help hold it in place. Next, I added the colors I would be using. I used Distress Inks, in the colors Barn Door, and Aged Mahogony. I love the tone on tone effect.

To finish my card, I heat embossed the ‘Thinking Of You’ sentiment from the Bee Friends stamp set on to a strip of vellum. Then, I adhered that to the panel. I then added the poinsettias and my card was done. It was a fun project to create.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 7

Hello and welcome to the final day of Thanksgiving Theme Week! Hasn’t it been wonderful? It’s Lindsey here, and I’m extra happy to be sharing a card today. Thank you cards are my favorite to make, and I love this time of year that encourages us all to show more gratitude.

A few weeks ago I did some paper piecing. It’s something I haven’t done in a really long time, but I found that I thoroughly enjoyed the process, so I wanted to try it again. It also happens to be a pretty fantastic way to add color if you aren’t in the mood for actual coloring.

I thought the overflowing cornucopia in the Fall Signs stamp set was the perfect image for this technique, so I pulled out some paper and got started. One of the keys to success when paper piecing is to choose paper with small enough patterns that they can still be seen even on a very small image. Another trick is make sure you cut directly on the stamped line.

When I inked up the image, I chose not to use the sign part of it, and instead cut the sentiment with the Thankful For You Script die. To add a little extra interest, instead of using the positive cut, I used the negative panel and backed it with another piece of patterned paper. The final bit of added texture came from covering the card base with a panel cut with the Lattice Background die.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 6

Hi crafty friends, Tammy here! I’m so excited to be participating in Thanksgiving Theme Week with Pretty Pink Posh. This is my favorite time of the year…my daughters and I LOVE cooking Thanksgiving dinner. We get up really early, hit the Starbucks drive-thru for some caffeine, and spend the day hanging out in the kitchen preparing the food…yum yum!!

I had so much fun creating this card and tag set with the super adorable set, Giving Thanks. As a thanks to you, all items in the Thanksgiving section are 15% off during theme week!

To begin, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut the images from the following sets:
Giving Thanks/ Coordinating Dies
Fall Signs/ Coordinating Dies

Next, I cut brown patterned paper to 5 X 5″ and attached to a square white card base. I then cut a piece of white cardstock to 4.75 X 4.75 and cut out a window using the Window Frames Die. I cut a piece of Bristol cardstock (also 4.75 X 4.75) and ink blended the background with Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks. Once dry, I attached the window over it, and then onto the patterned paper.

I stamped the sentiment from Giving Thanks in black ink, then arranged the stamped images onto my card, attaching some with foam tape for dimension.

Next, I created a couple of tags. I’m thinking these would be really cute attached to mini pumpkins on our Thanksgiving table! To begin, I cut white cardstock using the Stitched Essential 1 Dies to create my tag base. The tops of the tag were cut using the same brown patterned paper. I stamped sentiments from Fall Signs in black ink along the bottom of the tags.

Next, I attached my colored images from Giving Thanks to the tags, using foam tape on the critters for dimension. To complete my tags, I added some orange and white bakers twine. Now I just need to make a few more tags and find mini pumpkins and I’m set, lol!!

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 5

Hi friends, it’s Jeanne! I hope you’re having a great day! Autumn is my favorite time of year because I love the cooler temperatures and bounty of color that can be found everywhere! A drive to the farm stand or through the local forest preserve is a feast for the eyes.

Pretty Pink Posh has so many Autumn stamps and dies that I had trouble deciding which one to use on my card today. I guess I’ve always been a bit of a “more is more” sort of gal so I used images from several different sets.

Stamps used: Autumn Wreath // Fall Signs // Sunflowers

I arranged all of the images on a piece of plastic the same size as my card base. I enjoyed arranging different elements to make a fall scene before committing and adhering them in place over the Distress Oxide ink panel.

Sunflowers make a background for the Fall Signs Scarecrow and Pumpkin Patch Critters. Copic colored berries, flower and foliage are scattered about the scene for a little more eye candy.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 4

Good Morning Friends! It is Dana here today and I am excited to be back sharing a card for Thanksgiving Theme Week. Remember, everything in the Thanksgiving category will be 15% off this week! It is a great time to stock up on all of your favorite fall products.

For my card, I am using the gorgeous Autumn Wreath Set. I stamped my wreath, floral images and sentiment with VersaMark ink and heat set it with copper embossing powder. I then watercolored my images with a set of Karin Brushmarkers.

Next, I used the Stitched Strips Dies to create my card panel. I ran the dies through my die cutting machine with white cardstock. I attached the strips to a thin piece of paper and trimmed them down to make my panel. Lastly, I used Perfect Pearls in copper to add splatters to my panel and images.

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 3

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather Hoffman here to share a sparkly layered fall theme card – perfect for this time of year!

I used the beautiful Autumn Leaves Stencil and 3 colors of distress ink – Crackling Campfire, Mustard Seed, and Aged Mahogany – to stencil the leaves. I then used a simple fine line Sharpie to add some detail to the leaves before replacing the stencil and adding some Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel in White over the top.

I set that aside to dry, and once it was dry to the touch, I blended some of those same 3 colors of distress ink over the top – keeping the colors softer and lighter so as not to drown out the leaves underneath. I also added some splatters with white acrylic paint thinned down with a bit of water.

Next up, it was time to add the sentiment! I used the Stitched Hexagons die cut from black cardstock, then layered Thank You Script in white over the top, and popped that up with foam adhesive on the background. The additional little sentiment was from Simple Sentiments, heat embossed in gold, trimmed to a thin strip, then mounted with foam over the top of the larger sentiment. A few Graphite Jewels adhered with my handy Crystal Katana, and then mounted the entire thing on a white cardbase to finish this card off!

Thanksgiving Theme Week- Day 2

Hi all, it’s Melody here on the blog today. With Thanksgiving just around the corner I wanted to share an idea I have for some quick and easy place cards for your Thanksgiving table. The place cards make your table just a little more special by adding that handmade touch!

I created four place cards for my post, but the cards can be put together quickly for however many people you have sitting at your holiday table. I started by creating the base for the place cards from Kraft cardstock. I used the stitched rectangle that you get when you die cut the largest die in the Stitched Notes Dies. I scored the Kraft rectangle in the middle then folded the card in half to form a tent card.

Next I cut a variety for leaves and pumpkins from white card stock with the Small Stitched Foliage Dies. I also cut a few leaves from gold foil cardstock. Next I blended Distress Ink on the pumpkins and leaves to add a variety of fall colors. For the white pumpkins I blended Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks. The orange pumpkins are blended with Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, and Crackling Campfire Inks. The leaves are done in Barn Door and Fired Brick, Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint, and Scattered Straw and Wild Honey.

I attached the foliage to the place cards, adhering the pumpkins with foam dots to add dimension. The names on the card are computer generated. I finished off the place card with Metallic Gold Jewels.
