March Product Release Blog Hop- Day 2

Hello, there! Marge here with you today for day 2 of our blog hop. Today I’m sharing a card the Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set from the new Pretty Pink Posh March Release. I did no-line watercoloring for my card.

To begin, I stamped blossoms and leaves on an A2 sized heavy-weight watercolor paper using Distress ink Antique Linen, then watercolored them using Daniel Smith Watercolor Paints.

Although we call this no-line coloring, it actually isn’t no-line coloring because we can see lines stamped with a light colored ink. Since the Cherry Blossoms images have simple yet beautiful outlines, no line coloring is not too difficult. Coloring these small to moderate sized blossoms was really fun!
 

There are so many color options in Daniel Smith Paints that you may feel difficult what to choose, but, I  found that I need only several of those colors  to make watercolor flower cards. Here, I used my favorite colors which are Quinacridone Coral, Quinacridone Violet, Permanent Alizarin Crimson for blossoms, Prussian Green and Sap Green for leaves, Burnt Umberfor background. After I finished watercoloring, I trimmed the four edges a little to make the panel look clean.

To add a sentiment, I made a round stitched rectangle tag from a deep green card stock using the Stitched Pieces Die, then a sentiment from Encouraging Greetings Stamp Set was chosen and heat-embossed on the tag with white embossing powder. Then I punched two small holes on both sides of the tag, put natural twines through the holes,  and tide a bow. The tag was also adhered onto the panel using foam tape.

Next, I foam mounted the panel onto an A2 sized side-folded card base. As a final touch, I added Buttercream Jewels onto the empty spaces between blossoms and leaves. Look how the jewels sparkle beautifully on the card! The Jewels Collection is now my favorite among the new release!

March Product Release Blog Hop- Day 1

Hello, Gemma here today to share a card featuring the beautiful new Happy Easter Shaker die along with the cute Bunny Friends stamp set. I wanted to create a layered look with the Happy Easter Shaker die, with different colours of cardstock and some jewels too.

To begin, I die cut the Happy Easter Shaker die from four colours of card stock – green, light pink, dark pink and lilac. I chose the green die cut as my base layer, so the leaves are set back the most when all the layers are put together.

Next, I fussy cut the flowers from both of the pink die cuts and adhered them over the green layer. Although these flowers will eventually be covered by jewels, where any of the card does show underneath, I want it to be the same colour as the jewels. I then trimmed away the leaves and flowers from the lilac die cut, leaving just the frame and the sentiment. I added this onto the green die cut.

Once all the layers of card are put together, I picked out some Pink Blush jewels and Watermelon jewels and adhered them over the top of the flowers with liquid glue. The jewels look so pretty as an accent on the card. I put the Happy Easter Shaker aside to work on the rest of the card. I die cut the largest of the Scallop Frame dies from white card, then blended on an ombré of lilac ink, to closely match the colour of the shaker frame.

I just had to add two of the cute bunnies from the Bunny Friends stamp set to my card. I stamped them out and coloured them with copic markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I tucked one of the bunnies under the scallop frame at the bottom. I tucked the other bunny at the top of the Happy Easter Shaker die cut, trimming him a little to fit, then adhered everything to the card.

To finish, I added some foam squares just under the heads and ears of the bunnies, so they have some dimension.

Tutorial: DIY Candy Treat Boxes

Hi friends, Eloise here and today I have some St Patrick’s Day little gift boxes to share with you all. These would be perfect for little gifts for co-workers or even children, just a little gift to give someone to give them a little luck and a sweet treat, or whatever you decide to put in them. I’ll be using the Best of Luck stamp set to help theme these DIY gift boxes.

To begin my boxes today, I first cut down two pieces of green cardstock to 5 ½” wide by 8 ½” tall. This means you can get two boxes from one sheet of 8 ½” x 11 cardstock, which is great. Once they were cut down in half, it’s time to score. I pulled my large scoring board out, you can use a small one but you’ll need to turn the cardstock around every time to get the full length. My first score line is going to be on the short side at ¼”, then at 1 ¼”, then at 4 ¼” and lastly at 5 ¼”, then turn your cardstock 90 degrees and then on the long side, you’re going to score at 3”, then at 4”, again at 7” and again at 8”. This will be the base for your box.

Next take your box base over to your trimmer and you’re going to cut out a few rectangles. On the short side, you’re going to cut down vertically the 1 ¼” score line, all the way down to the 3” horizontal score line. Then, do the same for the 4 ¼” score line. At the bottom of your box, still on the short side. Cut up from the 1 ¼” score line again, to the 8” score line and repeat for the 4 ¼” score line. Then rotate your box 90 degrees, making sure you have the longer cut lines to the left of your trimmer and at the 3” score line, cut down to the cut you made earlier. Then, move your cardstock down, and do the same at the 8” score line. Then, flip your cardstock 180 degrees, and repeat. For the last cut, move your cardstock long ways and cut at the 4” score line, to the score line of the long cut you made earlier, flip the cardstock around 180 degrees again and repeat. This will be the base for your box all ready to go. If it’s easier for you, you can use scissors – but I personally liked using the trimmer, especially with a wire guide. Also – this will be explained and shown in the video so if you’re a visual learner, check that out above!

Now that my boxes were all ready before I moved onto anything else, I flipped it over to the front of the box, and ink blended some Lucky Clover Distress Ink at the bottom of which will be the top of the box, just to give my box a little gradient of colour. I repeated this for all four boxes, then turned over my box so it’s the inside and then stamped ‘Happy St. Patricks Day’ on the inside at the top with black ink on all four boxes as well. Then, I used my bone folder and scored along all the edges. I then set my boxes off to the side and worked on the decorations. I stamped out all my images from Best of Luck onto some white cardstock and used my Copic Markers to colour them all in. I then used the coordinating dies and cut them all out. While I was die cutting, I used the Smile Shaker Die and cut that out four times of white cardstock also. Since I just wanted the frames I used an exacto knife and cut away the ‘Smile’ word. Now I have all my frames, I can decorate my boxes.

Copic Colours Used: R14, R24, R29 / Y21, YR12, YR18 / Y11, Y15, Y38 / YG21, YG23, YG17 / B000, B41, B34 / Y21, YR21, YR24 / YR24, E99, E07 / RV10 / C3, C5, C7 / E000, E00, E21

To finish up my boxes, I first punched a hole at the top flap, and punched two smaller holes on the ½” flap. This will be for the string. Then, I used foam squares around the circle frames and adhered them to the front flaps of my boxes. I also added foam tape to my images and adhered them in place also. I then opened the box and adhered the four leaf lover images around the sentiment. For the little gift inside the boxes, I adhered four green foiled heart chocolates on the inside to create a four leaf clover, it’s super cute! To finish up the boxes, I folded in all the sides, added green twine into the punched holes and tied a bow to hold the top and bottom of the box together. Then for the sides, I added small strips of adhesive on each of the ¼” flaps and adhered them to the top of the box.

So that finished up my DIY gift boxes project today. I hope you enjoyed! These little boxes are super cute and easy to make with a half sheet of cardstock and can be decorated with any occasioned stamps. These would be perfect for small gifts as well.

Spring Scene Card

Hello, Gemma here today to wish you all a Happy Spring! I just love this sentiment in the new Bunny Friends stamp set. Spring is my favorite season so welcoming it with a card seems perfect! I began this card by blending lucky clover distress oxide ink onto the front of a card base. I took another piece of card, about a third narrower than the card base, and blended cracked pistachio distress oxide ink on to that.

I stamped the sentiment from the Bunny Friends stamp set on to the card panel, then added it to the card base with foam tape.

Next, I stamped some images from the Bunny Friends stamp set, coloured them with copic markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I placed three bunnies on the card, positioned just on the edge of the card panel. I added some foam tape on the right side of the bunnies, where they hang over the edge, and some tape runner on the left side, where they sit directly on the panel.

I then added lots of flowers and leaves around the bunnies. I used foam squares under some of the flowers, and adhered others directly to the card base. To finish the card, I added a few of the lovely green Shamrock jewels around the sentiment, and some Wink of Stella clear glitter to the flowers.

Tutorial: Happy Spring Bunnies

Hello everyone, Joni here sharing a card using the new Decorative Egg Dies and Bunny Friends stamp set.

To begin, I distressed the egg stitched die-cut with Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, and Cracked Pistachio.

Next, I colored the other pieces with Copic Markers.

I added the cute bunnies from the Bunny Friends set. This set is so much fun and also has coordinating dies!

For added interest on the eggs I adhered the fun, new jewels in Pink Blush, Lemon Drop, and Sea Glass.

For the card base I distressed the bottom with Chipped Sapphire and Cracked Pistachio, then splattered it with water and let it dry. Once it dried then a added some white dots of pen from uni-ball Signo broad gel pen.

Tutorial: Creating 4 St. Patrick’s Day Cards

Hello Pretty Pink Posh fans! This is Yana and today I am sharing video tutorial showing how to make several Good Luck cards featuring Best of Luck stamp set. I have 4 easy to make card ideas that work for St Patrick’s Day, but can also be used as an everyday Good Luck or Encouragement cards.

I started working on my projects by stamping images from the Best of Luck stamp set in alcohol marker friendly ink onto white cardstock. I used Copic markers and did some very basic and quick coloring. These, of course, can be colored using any coloring medium you prefer, I decided to use Copic markers because I find them easy to use. I used mostly green colors, although I didn’t use the St Patrick’s Day green as I don’t particularly like that shade of green, I went with the green that I like.

I used the following Copic Marker colors: YG03, YG17, C7, C5, C3, C1, Y11, Y15, Y17, E00, E02. Once my coloring was done I used coordinating dies and cut my images out in my Spellbinders Platinum Die Cutting machine.

Card Idea #1

For my first card I decided to use the horseshoe and a 3 leaf clover. To add some interest to my card I used colored cardstock and added it from the corners of white panel. I picked 3 shades of green cardstock and trimmed it using paper trimmer into 4 pieces.

I had cardstock panels cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and I trimmed them going on a diagonal once and than once again in the opposite direction. Next, I stamped Best of Luck sentiment in black ink onto my white cardstock panel and foam mounted the horseshoe in place and also used glue to adhere the shamrock.

Next, I temporarily adhered the panel onto my cutting mat – I aligned it with the grid and I started adhering green cardstock pieces in place. I didn’t measure anything, I just eyeballed the placement trying to evenly frame the image and sentiment in the center.

Once I had all the pieces adhered I used my scissors and I trimmed the rest of the cardstock off. I used new jewel embellishments from Pretty Pink Posh to dress up this card and I went with the Shamrock color of course – I used this color for most of my cards today.

Card Idea #2

For my next card I decided to use a non St. Patrick’s Day sentiment, but rather one that reads Sending Good Vibes. This sentiment comes from the new Encouraging Greetings stamp set.

I stamped and die cut a rainbow, pot of gold and a few shamrocks. I didn’t want to color the rainbow as a regular rainbow, but used just yellows instead. I stamped my sentiment in black ink and foam mounted my elements in place. I used foam adhesive to foam mount the yellow rainbow and once I had it placed I used a double layer of adhesive to foam mount the pot of gold and the shamrocks on the other side of the rainbow. I also added one shamrock onto the pot itself – I used glue for that one.

To add a bit of shine and sparkle to this card I used my Aqua Shimmer pen and added a generous amount of shimmer to the rainbow and also the gold coins in the pot. I feel like this shimmer really stepped up my card and added a bit of that necessary wow to this simple design.

Finally, I tucked 2 more shamrocks behind the rainbow for some additional interest. I also used new Jewels to embellish my card, I went with the lighter green color this time- Spring Green. I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted it onto an A2 top folding card base.

Card Idea #3

For my next card I did some negative die-cutting – I die cut an opening using a coordinating die for one of the images in a white cardstock panel.

I stamped a Best Of Luck sentiment and foam mounted my panel onto an A2 white card base. Next, I adhered my colored image in the opening, so it was recessed in the card and foam mounted a pot of gold over it creating a little scene.

I once again used my Aqua Shimmer pen to add some shine to the gold coins and I also adhered one of the shamrocks onto the pot with gold. Lastly, I couldn’t resist embellishing my card using new jewels and I used several Shamrock colored jewels to dress up this card.

Card Idea #4

My last card for today is an interactive one – I used a mini wobble spring to add movement and interest to this project. I stamped, colored and die-cut Patrick with the shamrocks and coins. I used scissors to just him out as I didn’t need to coins and shamrocks, I wanted to add the wobble spring just behind the guy.

I also stamped same image and Happy St. Patrick’s day sentiment onto a white cardstock panel. I colored the coins and shamrocks stamped in the background using Copics, but I didn’t color the little guy as I already have one colored and attached onto the mini wobble spring.

I adhere him in place and that added a ton of interactivity to this super simple card. Ever since I learned about these wobblers about a year or so ago I can’t stop using them for my cards! I think they are so much fun and every wobble spring card I’ve ever given to somebody made that person smile and play with the interactive element for a long time.

I foam mounted my panel onto a 4 Bar card base and of course I embellished it using the new Jewels in Shamrock.

March 2018 Release Now Available

It’s Marge here with you. Today I’m going to share a watercolor card featuring the Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set  which is one of the March Release Products  from Pretty Pink Posh.

As you all know, Pretty Pink Posh steadily has released flowers stamps and what I love about them is that they are always released in shapes of separate blossoms and leaves, not in a bouquet or bunch shape.

There could be plenty of designs/layouts with these blossoms, which you can make into your own style. I have been seeing so many beautiful creations made with Pretty Pink Posh’s flowers sets, each of which is uniquely designed and beautiful as well. The new Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set is no exception. It’s very versatile! 

To begin the card, I stamped images of Cherry Blossoms Stamp Set on a piece of 300g watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black Ink  which is water-resistant. Then I colored them using Daniel Smith Watercolor paints from light to deep colors focusing on giving shades.

 I then cut the images using Cherry Blossoms Coordinating Dies.

To make a background panel, I prepared an A2 sized white cardstock from Bristol paper, then sponged  it with Distress Oxide Inks: Gathered Twigs, Peeled Paint , Twisted Citron , Squeezed Lemonade , Tattered Rose, and Worn Lipstick one by one from bottom to top. Next, I added splatters of clean water, gold pearl, and black inks. After the inks are dried up, I stamped a sentiment from the Encouraging Greetings Stamp Set on the center of the panel using Versafine Onyx Blak Ink.

Then I arranged blossoms and leaves on the panel according to the sketch I had in mind.

To embellish the card, I used several of our new Jewels Collection, which are so beautiful that they could add fantastic sparkly effect on your cards. 

I put some of Buttercream, Pink Blush, Spring Green, and Shamrock here and there using a glue, then I foam-mounted the panel on an A2 sized top-folded cardbase and finished it off.

Brand New Product- Jewels!

Hi everyone! Lexa here and today I’m going to show you a sneak peek of what’s coming on March 1st. Today I am featuring the super gorgeous new jewels in a variety of colors that are perfect for spring and any time of the year. If you are a fan of PPP’s sequins collections, you won’t want to miss this new product!

On my card, I am sharing the brand spanking new Bunny Friends set and the coordinating dies will be everyone’s favorite, just look how adorable they are! There are so many fun options for this set!

I stamped the images with Versafine black ink and watercolor them with Distress Markers. You must be notice the egg shaped jewels in the middle, oh yes… I use another brand new stamp set called Sparkle Dot Patterns 2. I blend Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink in the bottom part of my card to create the ground. I choose all the pastel colors that’s perfect for spring and easter. The Happy Easter Script is die cut on soft lilac cardstock that will match the rest of the card. Here’s a closer look of my card..

Sneak Peek: March Die Cuts

Jeanne here today and I’m so EGG-cited to be sharing dies from the new release with you today! I’ve combined two of the new sets on this first colorful Easter card.

The new Stacked Layers 2 die set includes 3 stackable dies. Like the original Stacked Layers 1 you can cut the dies several times to make amazing backgrounds or use them individually as borders.

I cut the diamond pattern in a rainbow of colors before adhering the gorgeous floral, intricate cut Happy Easter Shaker die.  I love the diamond pattern peeking through the die openings. This card is clean and simple but the crisp die cuts and stitched detail makes it look fussy and expensive.

The new Decorative Eggs is a set of four egg die cuts. You can use the individually “as is” or stack them as I did on my card.

I arranged the four eggs on a clean white Stitched Notes panel. To add more color to the card I cut blocks of card stock in colors matching the die cut eggs and layered them under the panel. I topped the eggs with the new Happy Easter Script sentiment die.
