Poinsettia Patterns

Hi, sweet friends!
Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. I’m feeling a tad bit better, but still going through some health issues. This has happened before, so hopefully I can get this resolved asap. Feeling icky is no fun. :(
Today I have some simple, yet fun, holiday cards to share with you. I recently purchased the Poinsettia Patterns from WPlus9 and couldn’t help but ink them up quickly. I love how clean these designs stamp, and how fun are these patterns?! So many great possibilities….
How fun is this coral color? I just got a new ink pad and just love the color! It’s like a berry color with a hint of red in it. Perfect for holiday cards!
I stamped the exact same stamps, just in a different color on this card. I haven’t decided which one I like better….which do you like?
I’ve been working on some fun things- can’t wait to share them with you all! Let’s just say I’m in the Thanksgiving mood…..

Lame

Hi all~
Just wanted to pop in and say that I’m sick….again. I went to bed super early last night (9:30pm) and didn’t wake up until, get this, 1pm. My body is achy and my head hurts. After laying down all day, I tried stamping. That went okay for a little bit, then I got really dizzy again- almost to the point of vomiting. Is anyone else feeling like this? I don’t know if it’s a bug or if I need to go to the doctor again. I had a similar incident last year, where they found I was lacking in some nutrients. I guess I’ll need to wait a few days and see how I’m feeling then.
In case I don’t write soon, you’ll know it’s because I’m not feeling great. I have a ton of things to show you all, but they will have to wait until I can actually see straight. :( If you think of it, I’d love some prayer- I need to feel better asap!
Love you all- hope I’ll be back on here soon.

Enjoy the Holidays

Happiest of Mondays to you!
Today I have a card that is full of Christmas goodness. Holly + gingerbread men= time for Christmas! I pulled out my recently purchased Bountiful Baskets Additions for this fun card. I had so much fun coloring these little guys in; however, it did make me want some gingerbread cookies afterward!
Have any of you started your Christmas cards? Since my family usually sends out a family card, I tend to not send out too many. However, I do like to give some to my closest friends. Since my style is all over the place and I get bored easily, I usually don’t create just one style of card. I *try* to make them as personal as possible, so I’ll use their favorite colors or create something that I think they’ll like. Yes, it’s more work, but it makes it that much more special. ;)
Tomorrow I’ll be back with the DeNami Featured Product post. Let’s just say, if you’re in need of some Autumn inspiration, you’re definitely going to find it on the DeNami DT blogs!
Hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by!

…:::Blessed:::…

There are many days where I wonder how I was blessed with such a great job. I get to work with my family  PLUS I get to interact with so many wonderful people. Everyone from sweet customers to vendors to the amazing DeNami DT gals.

Over the years, some people have asked where I worked and I would reply in an email. I’ve never outright said it on the blog. Maybe it was fear that people wouldn’t consider it a “real job” since I work with family. Or it might be that I didn’t want people to think I was bragging. Either way, I’m past that now. I have a job that I truly enjoy (well, 95% of the time) and I am content with where I am. Each day brings me something new, which is perfect since I get bored easily. As with any job, there are tough days, but the good days far outweigh the “bad” ones.

So, for those who don’t know, you may be asking where I work now. I work for my parents at DeNami Design. I’m the person that usually answers your phone calls and responds to emails. I’m also the one who writes up the blog posts and coordinates everything web related. Yes, there are lots of other things that I do, but those are my favorite. :) I truly love interacting with customers through Facebook and emails, and also the occasional show. There’s something about connecting with people, who enjoy our products, that I enjoy so very much!

If you are one of the many people who I’ve interacted with, thank you for making my job possible. Thank you for the kind words and comments, and even the occasional criticism; those are also helpful! If we haven’t had the chance to connect, hopefully we will in the future!

Well, I hope you all have a super great Sunday. I’ll see you soon, if it’s not here, then it’ll be on the DeNami blog tomorrow! :)

Falling Leaves

Good morning!

Right now I’m completely in Fall mode….maybe it has to do with the leaves changing and Starbucks having their seasonal drinks? Or maybe it has to do with the DeNami Autumn Blog Hop coming up? Yes, I think that’s the answer. :) I am SO excited about Sunday- it’s definitely going to be filled with lots of Autumn goodness and inspiration. The line up of ladies is pretty amazing…. you’ll definitely want to bring a cup of coffee (or tea) and plan on spending a bit of time browsing the blogs. (There’s also prizes to be won!)

Today I have a fun card to share. Recently the fabulous Lisa Petrella created a card with falling leaves, which I loved to pieces. I truly adore the Large Winter Tree– it’s so versatile! I’ve stuck pears, apples, leaf sprigs, owls, just about everything you can think of in this tree at one time or another. Seriously, it’s a must for any stamp collection. For this particular card, I paired it up with a leaf from the Autumn stamp set.

Did you notice anything “new” for me on this card? Yup, I finally got some colored twine! Got a bunch of fun colors and I can’t wait to start using them on future cards. I’m sure you’ll be seeing various colors on the blog soon….

I hope all is well with you, sweet friends. Can’t wait to hear (err…see?) what you all think of this card. I’m hoping to be back tomorrow with a card, but we’ll see. I’m babysitting for 10 hours, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to muster enough energy or not. :) Until next time…..

September Ramblings

  • I greatly despise gardening. All the weeding, watering and harvesting makes have a garden not attractive. I would much rather spend a little extra money and buy items at the store.
  • This year I am truly addicted to Toffee Mochas. They have just enough coffee to wake me up in the morning, plus it tastes delicious!
  • At one point in time, I was considering becoming a vegetarian. Then…. I realized how much meat I really eat and decided it was ridiculous to even think I could do it.
  • I had never created Halloween cards before this year. Not into scary things, but the new Halloween DeNami Design images pushed me over the edge.
  • I’ve temporarily given up on submitting to magazines. I hate being disappointed.
  • Rarely do I ever take my make-up off at night. It’s such a bad habit, but I’m usually too lazy and tired to do anything about it.
  • I admire people who can sew on their cards. I *tried* for the first time recently and my card ripped. Not going to attempt this anytime again soon…..
  • Excited to go shopping for Fall and Winter clothes. Anyone have suggestions on where to buy cute boots that aren’t too terribly expensive?
I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday! Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love! If you happen to do a ramblings post, be sure to let me know ! I’d love to stop by your blog and get to know you better!

Sweet & Simple

Hi there, sweeties!

I don’t know if school has officially started for those around you, but today it starts in this part of Washington. It wasn’t too long ago where I was dreading going back to school after the summer….sure, there was some fun times (back to school shopping), but I never really thought school was *fun*. Looking back, I wish I had studied more in certain areas, but well, that’s a thing of the past. ;)

Lately I have been loving Guiding Light from WPlus9. Today I wanted to play with the boat stamp from the set. Seriously, who knew a boat could be so awesome?

In closing, I wanted to let you all know that DeNami Design is having their first warehouse sale next Thursday (September 16). There’s going to be lots of markers, ribbons, papers AND for the first time, we’ll have some unmounted stamps in surprise bags! Lots of great deals, plus, you can come meet me.

Have a great Wednesay, dear friends! Thanks so much for stopping by (and also leaving some love)!

Halloween Party

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Today I am excited to be showing my very first batch of cupcake toppers, along with some other fun goodies. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I had creating these items! If you are anything like me, you enjoy cupcakes….a lot. There’s something about all the different flavors and the fact that they aren’t too terribly big.

These first few pictures showcase the cupcake toppers. Oh goodness gracious, I want to make hundreds of these things! How can you not help but smile when you see that adorable spider. (Can I even say that?!) Also, how cute is the Friendly Bat?

Don’t these Cookies ‘N Cream cupcakes look delicious? Boy, they were! Did you notice the glittery spiders? I saw them at Pier 1 and couldn’t help but pick them up. :)

Seriously, a green bat? Now if bats were really this color, I might not be terrified of them *wink* Did you notice the webs? That is from the awesome Halloween stamp set!

Here’s another peek at the cupcakes…

Here’s the invite for the special event. I had so much fun creating the patterned paper! Would you believe that it only took three stamps and a stamp set to create ALL of these items?

Here’s the picture of all the items together. Did you notice the little banner in the background? I created those using clothespins! They’re so handy for keeping items together, but they also help decorate for a party!

Stamps used in these projects:

Friendly Bat

Party Info Script

Dot Border

Halloween stamp set

I hope you enjoyed looking through this post! I had so much fun creating it….I’ll be doing more things like this in the future! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today- I hope you were inspired!

Special Friend

Is there a special person that you know God brought into your life? There are many people like this for me. Recently though, it’s been my dear sweet friend, Sarah. She’s a DJ on our local radio station. Several years ago (approximately 7), I first started to hear her on the radio and loved her personality. She was younger, which is something that’s not always usual in the radio biz. I always thought it would be super cool to meet her, but never thought it’d really happen.

Fast forward 6 years, I started to follow her blog and Twitter (I’m not a stalked, REALLY!), and we eventually became friends on Facebook. In the “virtual world” it’s easy to feel like you know someone, but the person could be totally different in person. I had the opportunity to meet her at a concert in December and she was just as sweet as I thought she’d be.

Recently she spoke at a local church and I had the great pleasure of being there. The theme: Embrace Your Grace. I won’t go into details of the talk, but let me tell you, I knew God was speaking through Sarah. I got tears in my eyes, because I KNOW that God has poured out so much grace to me over the years. Hearing her stories and seeing a physical reminder of God’s grace was so powerful. (If she wasn’t such an awesome DJ, I’d say she be a public speaker.)

I skipped a bunch of details (didn’t want to bore you), but I wanted to share with you about my dear friend. She is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. Sarah, if you are reading this, I love you and I’m so thankful that you are in my life!

In closing, I’d encourage you to do a post about someone who has touched your life in a special way. It could be your husband, sister or friend…..I can’t wait to read about it!

Hello Friend

Good morning sweeties!

These past few days I have been working on several magazine submissions. As most of you know, I got my very first card published in the August issues of CARDS. Since then, I have submitted off and on, but haven’t had any luck since. I really hope I’m not a one hit wonder! It’s so hard to know what magazines are looking for…..

Today I have a super pretty (can I say that?!) card to share. I pulled out the Bannerific set from Lawn Fawn and then paired it up with the Hello Friend sentiment from DeNami Design. I tend to look for stamps that can be versatile- I don’t like having a stamp for just one card design. ;)

I want to let all of my followers know that DeNami Design is giving away FOUR gift certificates! You can leave a comment on the DeNami blog AND the DeNami Facebook page! Be sure to pass along the word- who doesn’t love winning free things?!

Tomorrow I’ll be back with a hint on the latest Practicing Creativity set! I’ll see you then!
