Let’s try this again

Oh goodness, even just typing that title was painful. Yup, you probably guessed it, I’m getting back to the gym….

For those who’ve been reading my blog, you know that I had a trainer and was a “gym rat” for a good 6 months or so. I was at the place where I was seeing results and actually LIKED going to the gym. (Who thought that could happen?!) Well, with some big deadlines for work and just the busyness of life, I set aside the gym. I thought it’d be for a month, maybe two at the max. Well, it has been a good SIX months since I was completely committed to losing weight. After the deadlines, I needed “me” time and then proceeded to come up with a ton of excuses for not going to the gym. Still kicking myself for this. :(

Today I have a session with my new trainer. Sadly, during the time I was away, my old trainer went off to school. I don’t deal with change all that well, so it’ll take me a while to warm up to this new person. She seems super sweet, but has a completely different style than my old trainer. It’s not a bad thing, just something I will have to get used to. Anyways….we had our first session today. It was SUPPOSED to be 30 minutes, but we only were able to do 15 minutes. Why? Cause I’m so out of shape that I felt SICK when my body started lifting weights. Yes, literally sick. I was so embarrassed and also mad at myself. How was I in such good shape and now I’m back to the very beginning? Thankfully she was understanding and didn’t make me feel pathetic. (I was already thinking this enough for the both of us.)

I’m going to try to get back into a routine of going to the gym 4-6 times a week again. Really hoping that I’ll continue to stay motivated…these pants are starting to get snug and I don’t want to go back to my “fat jeans”. I had set a goal to lose weight this year, and I did. However, I gained it all back! I think these extra 20 pounds love me a little too much…..

  1. Girl, I really admire your motivation. It’s tough to stick to a gym routine, and even to talk about it here on the web. I wish I enjoyed going to the gym… but unfortunately, food and laziness are always such strong temptations for me. LoL…. But you are going to be great at it again. I believe in you. As I have said before, I think your body is totally fine and beautiful the way it is. But staying healthy is always important, so i’m totally rooting for ya! :)

  2. I know how you feel, I had a good routine going & then it got interrupted. Ever since, I have the hardest time getting to the gym (bc of my excuses). Good luck with this go around, keep your eye on the prize ;)

  3. You go girl! It may take some time but you WILL get back to lifting for longer! You can do this! Way to take the first step.

  4. I’m right there with you Paulina! I get in a routine of going, and then my parents visit for a few weeks etc, and I’ve lost my motivation. I’m going to try a fitness log. Major motivation for me to get to wright down what I do… something simple, but accountability means something. You could even text me when you’ve finished a session at the gym… I’ll be so proud!! Wish we could be gym buddies, that would be fun. Keep it up, and you’ll feel awesome. Hey, you should try a class, just to change it up.

  5. You can do it, Paulina!!!! Just take it one step at a time! I believe in you! You’re a strong, beautiful, smart, and sweet girl!
