I ♥ Embellies

Oh my goodness, am I ever glad that it’s Thursday (last work day of the week). Most of you know, I get three day weekends…I don’t know what I would do without them! I always seem to fill up my three days, I can’t imagine only having two! This weekend I have lots planned- hopefully I can get it all done. Tomorrow: going to the gym, then I’m having Ginny over for a full day of crafting+ food + laughter. Saturday: training session at the gym, making lots more items for the craft fair, and possibly getting an oil change. Sunday: church, packing for my vacay, shopping for a pair of jeans and maybe a few shirts, and most definitely taking my Sunday nap. I blame not waking up to my alarm for two days on not taking my Sunday nap. I ALWAYS take one. I think it threw off my body or mind, or both!

So, today I have another notepad cover to show you. Made this one two weeks ago but didn’t want to overload you with “the notepads”. I really like the colors, the flourish and of course, the embellishment flower. I was looking at some of my older posts and realize that on my new stuff I used a ton of embellies. From rhinestones and pearls to buttons and pom poms- I just can’t get enough! I have an unhealthy amount of buttons and I’m starting to develop quite the stash of rhinestones. Thankfully I only like cream pearls…if I liked other colors, that would be troublesome!

Below are some of my embellishment “must haves”:

DeNami Design Bubblegum Boutique Buttons

DeNami Design Espresso Boutique Buttons

Hero Arts Clear Gemstones

Hero Arts Small Accent Pearls

That’s all for now. Let me know if you use any of these embellishments, or if you like some other ones! I’m always on the lookout for some fun new items! :)

Paper: White, Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate

Vibrant Candy Boxes

Happy Wednesday! We have made it to the middle of the week! How are you surviving? These past few days have gotten off to a rough start….I woke up late TWICE! Yesterday I woke up 10 minutes before I was supposed to leave, and today I woke up 5 minutes before! YIKES! I haven’t woken up late in a LOOONG time. Rushing to get ready and jumping out of bed is NOT my idea of a good morning start.

Today I have some fun, vibrant candy boxes to show you. I LOVE these DeNami Boutique Boxes– they are so versatile! I cut off the top of the boxes and added grosgrain ribbon, pretty cute, huh? I can see these being used as favors, gifts and so much more! I’m definitely going to be making more of these in the near future. With them only being .45 a box, it’s such a inexpensive gift but you can dress them up to be gorgeous!

Today I picked a winner for my Making Memories Giveaway. The winner was Lisa from Colorado! Again, thanks to all who participated! I already have my next giveaway planned….be sure to become a follower so you’ll know when I post it! With Christmas right around the corner, I’m thinking a mini shopping spree will be in order for this lucky winner. ;)

Well, that’s all for this post. Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Seasons Greetings

Happy Monday to my blog friends!

Today I have another Christmas card to share. Are you sick of them yet? I hope not! Got lots more of them to share. :) With this card, I decided to go the “traditional” route and use the standard green and red with a splash of other warm colors. I love how this card turned out- it’s elegant, whimsical and classy! Oh yes, and I’m SO happy that the bow turned out nice in this scanned photo….not an easy task!

I have a question for you all: which card should I give to my friends this year for Christmas? I have made so many and I love {almost} all of them. It’s such a hard decision! I value your input- can you offer some help?

Since I talked your ear off in the last post, I’ll make this one short. Have a fabulous Monday!

Stamps: Signature Christmas, Vintage Labels, Basic Backgrounds: Retro, Dots Background
Paper: Brown Kraft, Cream, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia

Take Note

Happy Sunday!
Can you believe how fast the weekend has gone by? This morning I stayed home from church so I could take care of my little brother who has the flu. Thankfully he is getting better each day that passes….can’t wait til he is back to his normal self. Even though he is a little guy, he is such a huge part of our family. He is the one who makes us laugh, takes intiative with things {the other day I came home from work and he did most of the chores!}, he’s the “nurse” whenever someone is sick….he is just the sweetest little brother….
Here’s another notepad that I made recently. Are you sick of seeing them? I hope not! I have so many more to share! I did space this one out so you wouldn’t just be seeing notepads on my blog- gotta keep you coming back! I am SO loving this color combo these days- isn’t it just yummy? I think I’ll make one of these for myself…
I’m slowly trudging along with my craft fair inventory. So far I have 180 gift tags, but I’m wondering if that will be enough. I have no clue how much to prep for this show. I’ve taken a little break from the gift tags and have started making card sets. I have 5 in a clear box, but I’m wondering if I should just sell them individually. How much would you pay for a set of 5 cards/ envelopes packaged in a pretty box? So far I have made this one and this one for the boxed sets. I really need some opinions on this….I want to make sure it’s worth my while since these are nice cards and they do take a bit of time and supplies.
You guys are so great, thanks for all your advice and input! I promise I’ll post pictures when I get my mock table set up….and don’t worry, I’ll post pictures of my projects too!
That’s all for tonight. I have already stayed up too late- it’s gonna be a rough Monday.

Vibrant Christmas

Hello blog friends!

How are you doing this fine Saturday evening? Did you do anything fun or exciting today? Today was filled with LOTS of cardmaking and prepping for my craft fair. I have almost 100 gift tags made so far! Since I have been making so many gift type items, I have been wanting to make some actual cards….here are two that I made today. {There will be more in the next few days.}

Yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and bought some fun, vibrant Christmas chip board stickers. OH MY GOODNESS! I absolutely love these colors- aren’t they fun?! These colors put me in such a happy mood. I’m so loving the non-traditional Christmas colors this year! I have some fun pom pom trim that Wendy gave me that has been waiting to be used. I FINALLY found a project that would work perfectly with the pom poms!

Do any of you have your Christmas cards designed? If so, which colors are you going to be using? We still need to design our family Christmas card….with all of us being cardmakers, it’s always interesting to see which colors/ style we go with each year. If you have your Christmas card designed, be sure to send me a picture- I would love to see what you made!

I hope you all have a great rest of the night. Thanks for stopping by!

Gingerbread Notepad

Oooohhhhh, I’m so sorry for not posting this sooner! I intended to post it on Monday but got busy. Then I was going to post it yesterday but started making more things for my craft fair. I’m writing a quick post before I get ready for work…you don’t mind, do you?

How has your week been so far? I have been crazy busy at work {people getting ready for Christmas}, and also working my behind off for my craft fair. I just got the paperwork so now I’m REALLY REALLY excited. If you’re in the Seattle area and are interested in going, let me know! I’ll send you the details!

Most of you know that I watch movies/ tv show while I’m making cards. Since I’m already a slow crafter this probably doesn’t help! Oh well. Since I’m alone in the studio, it’s nice to have something to watch and also catch up on some shows! I recently discovered The Mentalist- such a good show! I’m such a junkie for crime shows! Since this show only has one season so far, I’m going to need another show soon. Any recommendations?

Well, I need to scoot. Gotta get ready for work and pack my gym bag for my session tonight. Oh, did I tell you? I have lost 4 pounds so far! Only 16 pounds left….

Polka Dot Notepad

Can you believe that the weekend has already come and gone?! Time really does go by faster when you get older! I can only imagine what it’s going to be like when I’m 40!

Today I have the first notepad cover that I decorated. I absolutely love how it turned out! It’s girly, simple and also practical! The notebook measures 4 x 6 and has 150 blank white pages. I’m making a lot of these for my craft fair- tons of different colors and styles to appeal to a large number of people. I was thinking of selling them 2/ $10 or $6 each. What do you think? Does that sound reasonable to you? I’m thinking since it’s practical and pretty, it’ll make for some good, easy Christmas presents.

I have one more post for you today. Cindy gave me an award so I thought I would join in on the fun. {Thanks so much, Cindy!} I am so thankful for my blog followers and those who enjoy my work. You sweet words and comments make blogging so much fun! If it weren’t for you all, I probably would have quit by now!

Embellish Owls Color Challenge

I hope that you all had a great Saturday! Did you do anything fun/ interesting for Halloween? Growing up we never celebrated this holiday. In fact, I have never gone trick-or treating or carved a pumpkin! Just a tidbit of info I thought I’d share with you. I never felt “jipped” for not participating- those things never really interested me….

Tonight I have a card that is fun, cheerful and oh yes, a “hoot!” When I saw the challenge this week for Embellish Magazine, I thought it would be a piece of cake. For some reason, I had such a difficult time getting a card to turn out tonight. I made a different card with these colors and an owl and wanted to throw it away. Thankfully, I have brothers that will take ANY card that I give them. :) I’m fairly happy with this card- thank goodness! It took way too long to make….not even going to tell you how long!

Is anyone else loving the challenges at Embellish? I love the different pictures Ashley posts and of course, the color combinations are so delicious! If you haven’t joined in on this fun yet, you must at least check it out. I’m so excited for their first issue in December- it’s gonna be amazing!

In closing, I just wanted to be sure you all check out my blog candy I posted earlier today. Everything is from Making Memories! Who knows, if I get a lot of hits, I may add more items! ;)

That’s all for now. I’m so happy we get one extra hour of sleep- I’m in desperate need of some shut eye! I’ll be back tomorrow with a fun notebook that I decorated!

Gingerbread Cookies

Happy Friday morning!

Oh my goodness, I stayed up WAY too late last night creating projects for my craft fair and surfing the web. How is it that when I find a cute blog I then proceed to blog hop and lose track of time? In between blog hopping and my new found love of Splitcoast, I’m pretty much guaranteed to spend too much time on the computer.

Today I have another fun gingerbread card. I didn’t think I would like this little guy, but I’m having so much fun with him! Seriously, how can you resist?! Speaking of gingerbread, my last post featuring this guy was chosen for M’s Top 10! I love participating in challenges….they are so much fun! They are even more fun when you get a top spot! :)

I’m really hoping that I’ll get a picture of my blog candy so I can post soon. Between work, prepping for the craft fair, trying to spend time with family and day-to-day life, I’m finding myself short for time. However, since y’all are so important to me, I’ll do my best to squeeze it in. :)

Hope you all have a great day!
