2009 Thankful List

Greetings friends!

I have no card to post at the moment….I’ve been so incredibly swamped with everything related to my craft fair. I have set up my “mock table”….I can’t believe things are actually coming together. However, after setting up, I realized I don’t have nearly enough items for sale. :( Once things sell, my table will look very bare! These next three days are going to be crazy- don’t be surprised if I “disappear” from my blog.

This post is dedicated to everything that I’m thankful for. Yes, I know I’m a bit late for Thanksgiving…however, we should not just be thankful for things once a year, right?

  • Health- I don’t have the best health, but I am thankful to be alive. This year I have had more than my share of health concerns- thankfully I have conquered most of them.
  • Friends- I have some of the goofiest/ crazy friends ever. (Yes, I’m talking about you, Ginny and Cece!) My friends are great at listening, making me cry from laughter, doing fun things, oh yes, and they are great movie buddies as well!
  • Hobbies- Oh goodness, this year I have gotten caught up in stamping. I have stamped ALL of my life, but this is the first time I have really enjoyed it. For all of my friends, this may be surprising to you….just another tidbit of “Paulina info”. :)
  • Job- Even though sometimes it’s stressful, I absolutely love my job. I am very thankful to have a stable job, despite the tough economy.
  • My blog peeps- You all are amazing! I know I’ve said it before, but you all make blogging SO much fun. I love each and every one of you- thank you again for all of your sweet comments and emails.
  • Family- I have a crazy family, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We have had many struggles and trials, but have always come out on top of them. I love my family so very much…I’m tearing up just thinking about them!
  • My brothers- Yes, I realize they are part of my family, but they really deserve their own column. Both of them are constantly making me laugh and they bring me much joy and happiness. When I have kids someday, I want them to be just like my brothers.
  • Jesus Christ- I owe everything I am to the Lord. He loves me even though I don’t deserve Him. Words cannot express how lost I would be without Him in my life.

I am thankful for so much more, but these are the things that really stick out to me.

Thanks for stopping by! What all are you thankful for this year? I would love to see your lists! :) I think it’s important to stop and realize how truly blessed we are…..won’t you join me?

Black Friday

Greetings my friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful day. Did anyone do some “Black Friday” shopping? If you did, which stores did you go to and what all did you get? Yes, now is the time to spill the details….

This year I didn’t spend much at all. {Yay!} I got seasons 2 & 3 of Psych, Wanted DVD and a couple stocking stuffers for my brothers- not much at all! I’m hoping that I make a little {actually a LOT} of money from the craft fair so I can finish buying my presents. I have put so much time, effort and $$ into this fair….really, really hoping it pays off. I recently put up my “mock table” so I’m starting to plan out how I’m going to set everything out. I didn’t realize how many items I have made so far! I still have quite a bit to do- thankfully I’m getting a little faster since I’m doing a little bit of mass producing.

I was planning on doing a Thanksgiving post but time slipped away from me. Within the next couple of days I’m going to post a list of things I’m grateful for. Who knows, you might be on the list! ;)

Well, it’s off to bed I go. I hope you all are doing well- miss hearing from you!

Papertrey November Blog Hop

Oh goodness, can you believe it’s the 25th already?! I was busily going about my day yesterday when I realized I only had a couple hours to work on my PTI Blog Hop project! {I work so I can’t create at all hours of the day. Jealous of those of you who can!}

This months challenge was über fun. With the holidays around the corner, who doesn’t need a fun gift tag?! I actually made two tags but decided to post the more “traditional” Christmas one. Since I’ve been doing a TON of non-traditional Christmas color combos, I thought I’d post something different than the norm. I L-O-V-E how this tag turned out- I think I’ll need to make more! There are just some days when I’m totally surprised with what I make….yesterday was one of those days! :)

Well I can’t wait to see what all of you lovely peeps created. You all are so inspiring! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hello my dear friends!

I hope you are all doing well. I have been keeping quite busy since I returned from my vacation. In between work, picking up relatives from the airport, putting laundry away and creating cards for challenges, I have been a busy little bee.

Today I have a card for the 2S4Y sketch. Isn’t it a fun one?? It wasn’t too terribly hard…you should give it a try! If you do, be sure to let me know- I want to check it out! Since there are SO many entries now, I’m not always able to look at every single one.

I have a few cards ready for the blog….and also some more gift tags! I’ll have a tag for the Papertrey blog hop tomorrow- be sure to stop by again!

Well, I must run. Lots more things to create! :)

Saturday Greetings

Saturday greetings, my friends!

Today was my last full day in California. How does the time fly by so quickly?! I had a full day of helping prepare for my cousins Eagle Scout ceremony and then of course, participating in it. Just a tidbit of info: did you know only 3% of Boy Scouts become an Eagle Scout {the highest achievement}? Yeah, I didn’t know this either. Today I learned a ton about being a Boy Scout, the Eagle Scout and also how much work it takes to put together an Eagle Scout shindig.

Even though I have had a nice vacation, I’m ready to head back to Washington. I miss my comfortable bed, my routinue and last by not least, my crafting supplies! I saw that I have at least three challenges that I want to play in….hopefully I’ll get a chance before the deadlines! I get home early enough where I might be able to make a card of two….we’ll see how I feel. I have to get up early to head into work on Monday morning- thank goodness it’s only a 3 day work week! Speaking of which, any stores you *must* hit on Black Friday? I haven’t checked to see if any ads are out yet- I’m scared to see how much damage I’ll be doing! Last year I got my Cricut Expression on Black Friday. I’m hoping that there won’t be *that* much damage this year.

Well, that’s a wrap for tonight. Next time you hear from me, it’ll be from Washington! :)

Aqua Note Post-It Cover

Hey peeps!

My apologies for not getting this post up earlier. I just got back from a full day in San Diego and I didn’t have enough battery to do a post from my phone. {I recently got internet on my phone. It’s great to check my email, but it’s a pain to look at websites. All that scrolling is NOT fun!}

As promised, here is a new post it note cover that I made. I think this is my favorite one to date. I love the simplicity but yet mod feel it has. What are your thoughts? My family thinks this one is going to be popular at the craft fair, so I’m thinking of making more than two of this design. Speaking of this design, I showed my grandma some of my newest post it note creations and she loved them! She asked if/ how much I sell them for. I told her and she said she wanted to buy 10! She’ll be going to Japan soon so she wants to give them as gifts. I was so happy I could have done a little dance at the airport! :)

Like I mentioned before, we had a FULL day in San Diego. My sisters, cousin and I went to Sea World. Don’t worry, I’ll post pictures shortly. I need to go through ALL of the ones we took and see which ones are flattering. :)

Well it’s getting late and I need some sleep {after some blog hopping of course!} Hope you all had a great day! I’ll be back soon with another post.

2 Sketches 4 You- Laura’s Sketch #39

Happy Tuesday my dear blog friends!

Oh goodness, can you tell that I’m super happy today? In just a few short hours I will be on a jet plane to beautiful, sunny California. {At least I’m hoping it’s sunny!} With it being SO gloomy, wet and depressing in Washington, I’m ready for a change of scenery and also some much needed R & R.

You all may think I’m a little silly, but I just HAD to make a few challenge cards before I left. Seriously, with such a stunning sketch by Laura, how could I not partake?! Did you see the amazing card that my friend, Sarah, made? It was absolutely breathtaking! I am so happy she made the 2S4Y DT- she is such a sweetie and her cards just keep getting better and better.

Right now I am so loving this color combo- isn’t it scrumptious? Even though we are heading into Winter, I really couldn’t help but play with these colors. Since today I was super down {because of the weather}, I needed a fun, spring-like card to cheer me up. :) I’m hoping this card can cheer up another person as well….there are so many people that I miss at the moment…who should I send this to??

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Tags Part 2

Hi everyone!

Did you know that there are only 38 day left until Christmas?! Yikes- a-bees! I have ZERO Christmas presents or cards ready for my friends and family. Not gonna lie, I’m a tiny bit stressed out about this fact. I have spent a fairly large amount on supplies for my craft fair- the thought of spending more right now is not very appealing.

As you know, I’m getting ready for my vacation to California. I haven’t had a real vacation in three years! I’m tempted to bring some of my crafting supplies….we’ll see if any of it fits in my suitcase. :) Most likely I’ll pre-stamp a bunch of the Santa’s and color/ cut them out in Cali. Out of the four tags that I have shown, which do you think will be the most popular?

I have a busy, busy day. I’m going to work, hitting the gym, getting my nails done, packing the rest of my suitcase, and hopefully can get a couple cards made tonight. Oh yes, I NEED to go to bed early tonight. Going to work extra early tomorrow so I can finish up the loose ends so I don’t come back to stack of paperwork. (Worst thing EVER!)

Hopefully I can do another post tonight. If not, you’ll hear from me soon. If you want the most current “Paulina news” you can always follow me on Twitter. :)

I ♥ Embellies

Oh my goodness, am I ever glad that it’s Thursday (last work day of the week). Most of you know, I get three day weekends…I don’t know what I would do without them! I always seem to fill up my three days, I can’t imagine only having two! This weekend I have lots planned- hopefully I can get it all done. Tomorrow: going to the gym, then I’m having Ginny over for a full day of crafting+ food + laughter. Saturday: training session at the gym, making lots more items for the craft fair, and possibly getting an oil change. Sunday: church, packing for my vacay, shopping for a pair of jeans and maybe a few shirts, and most definitely taking my Sunday nap. I blame not waking up to my alarm for two days on not taking my Sunday nap. I ALWAYS take one. I think it threw off my body or mind, or both!

So, today I have another notepad cover to show you. Made this one two weeks ago but didn’t want to overload you with “the notepads”. I really like the colors, the flourish and of course, the embellishment flower. I was looking at some of my older posts and realize that on my new stuff I used a ton of embellies. From rhinestones and pearls to buttons and pom poms- I just can’t get enough! I have an unhealthy amount of buttons and I’m starting to develop quite the stash of rhinestones. Thankfully I only like cream pearls…if I liked other colors, that would be troublesome!

Below are some of my embellishment “must haves”:

DeNami Design Bubblegum Boutique Buttons

DeNami Design Espresso Boutique Buttons

Hero Arts Clear Gemstones

Hero Arts Small Accent Pearls

That’s all for now. Let me know if you use any of these embellishments, or if you like some other ones! I’m always on the lookout for some fun new items! :)

Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Take Note, Dots Background, Fancy Flourishes
Paper: White, Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Tea Dye Duo, Summer Sunrise
Other: 3″ scallop circle punch, 2½” scallop circle punch, 2″ scallop circle punch, sand button, twine, notepad

Vibrant Candy Boxes

Happy Wednesday! We have made it to the middle of the week! How are you surviving? These past few days have gotten off to a rough start….I woke up late TWICE! Yesterday I woke up 10 minutes before I was supposed to leave, and today I woke up 5 minutes before! YIKES! I haven’t woken up late in a LOOONG time. Rushing to get ready and jumping out of bed is NOT my idea of a good morning start.

Today I have some fun, vibrant candy boxes to show you. I LOVE these DeNami Boutique Boxes– they are so versatile! I cut off the top of the boxes and added grosgrain ribbon, pretty cute, huh? I can see these being used as favors, gifts and so much more! I’m definitely going to be making more of these in the near future. With them only being .45 a box, it’s such a inexpensive gift but you can dress them up to be gorgeous!

Today I picked a winner for my Making Memories Giveaway. The winner was Lisa from Colorado! Again, thanks to all who participated! I already have my next giveaway planned….be sure to become a follower so you’ll know when I post it! With Christmas right around the corner, I’m thinking a mini shopping spree will be in order for this lucky winner. ;)

Well, that’s all for this post. Thanks for stopping by!
