Colour Q Challenge #79

Hi there!
I just wanted to pop in with a card for the super fun Colour Q Challenge #79. Boy, am I glad I had a teeny bit of free time- I’ve missed playing along in these challenges!
For this card, I pulled out my Wilson Designs Nauti-Cool set. (Currentlly sold out, but Kim has more coming!) I was lucky enough to be the first to purchase her new set last month, so I got this set for free. How awesome is that?! I thought this set worked really well with the colors in the challenge…..

Kept it SUPER simple for this card- really wanted the sail boat and sentiment to be highlighted. I was excited to pair up the birds from Practicing Creativity and the waves from Lawn Fawn on this card. Gotta love when you have versatile stamps where you can mix and match easily!
Thanks for stopping by. I will be back tomorrow for a GIVEAWAY. I figured it’s been a while since I hosted one, and thanks to my Twitter friends, figured out something that many people wanted. :) See you later….

Wee Memories Challenge #48

Hi-ya, blog friends!
Today I have a card that is bright, happy and fun. (The best kind of card!)  As I mentioned in a recent post, my Copic stash has been growing….a lot. With all the pretty colors, I just can’t help but color more!

For this cutie, I pulled out the Critters in the Sea stamps from Lawn Fawn, along with some images from DeNami Design. Now, some may not think turtles are cuddly, but that just depends on who you ask. :)

With a good set of markers, it’s SO fun to shade and such. I had a ball choosing colors for the “water”.
Hope this card brightened your Saturday! Talk with you all soon….

PDCC #73

Hello there!
I am beyond excited to be joining the super talented ladies at PDCC as a guest designer this week. I must admit, I was a tad bit intimidated to be among such great cardmakers. Here are all these big names and then there’s lil ‘ol me. :)
When I first saw the colors of this challenge, I was scared. After playing around with a few different options, I finally came to a card that I thought was worthy to be displayed with all of the other PDCC designers.
Here is what I came up with…….

Man of you know I’m utterly in love with the new Elephant from DeNami Design. He has so much character, and he’s fun to color and paper piece! In addition to this cutie, I used the Teeny Swiss Dot, Mini Heart, Three Line Border and Medium Polka Dots.
The challenge runs now until next Tuesday, March 22, 2011. There’s a $25 DeNami Design gift certificate up for grabs, and after you check out the AMAZING cards by the DeNami DT AND the PDCC girls, I’m sure you’ll have quite a little wish list. :)
  • Be sure to check out the Play Date Cafe blog for the challenge details and the samples by the team.
  • Check out the DeNami blog tomorrow for the sample cards by the DeNami DT featuring these challenge colors.
Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog! Hope you’ll join us in the challenge!

Totally Hues Challenge #3

Saturday greetings to you!
Today I have a card that was based off of Heather’s lovely Totally Hues Challenge #3. I normally don’t bring out a lot of oranges, so this was a fun challenge! As usual, Heather created a super adorable card to inspire us all.

After pondering which stamps to use, I finally decided on the Owl Trio as my main stamp. I just love these little guys, plus, how fun is the You’re A Hoot sentiment?!
As I type, I’m getting ready to go on an overnight trip with my engaged sister. Her branch won a campaign so they all get to go to a resort with the expenses paid! :) It’ll be fun to get a way for a bit. Also, tomorrow we’re going to get her measured for her dress, along with looking at some bridesmaids dresses- should be lots of fun!
Hope you all have a super great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Color Cue Challenge #12

Hi there!
I’m so happy that I could play along with the Color Cue Challenge #12! I have to confess, these colors looked way too hard at first, so I put it off for a bit. After being “stuck in a rut” for a while, I figured I should just give it a shot. Here is the result….

I haven’t really had a chance to play with Poinsettia Patterns much, so I thought this would be a good time to pull it out. I think it works really well with Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions. What do you think?
I didn’t think I had inks to match this color combo, then I remembered my Brilliance ink pads! I used Jade and Purple. They work together so well! Then, just to add a teeny bit of bling, I used my Lavender rhinestones.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed today’s card!

Puppy Love

Hi there!
Thank you SO much to those who left me congrats on my last card being accepted for publication. The card will be featured in the July issues of CARDS, so it’s only a few months away! (Perfect month too….it’s my birthday that month!)
I had so much fun creating for the Lawnscaping Challenge:All About Love…I created another card! For this one, I decided to create a little scene. :)
I just love coloring this dog with my Copics. It’s the perfect size, and it’s fun to *try* shading. You’ll notice, I also tried my hand at doing a little shading on the tree. Someday, I’ll master it….
Have you ever seen a glitter tree? Yeah, neither have I, but I would love to someday!!  I just took my Quickie Glue Pen and covered the tree, then sprinkled Extra Fine glitter. Easy and quick, but super amazing results!
Hope you enjoyed this card! If you missed my other entry for the challenge, you can find it here

Love Seals

Happy Monday!
Hope you all aren’t tired of hearing from me. I know I’ve been posting quite often lately! Just in case you missed my last post, I created a card for the CR84FN14 challenge. Click here to check it out. I was super happy with how this one turned out; so full of pretty things!
Today I have a card created for the Totally Hues Challenge #1 AND the Lawnscaping Challenge #3. It’s not often that I create a card to fit two challenges, so this was a pretty big thing for me. :)
Heather’s challenge was to use Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse, Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores. I must say, I’m usually not a fan of Hibiscus Burst, but I LOVE it with these colors. (Thanks Heather for making me go beyond my comfort zone!)
The Lawnscaping Challenge theme this week: All About Love. I took me a while to decide which animals I wanted to use, but finally decided on the seal. I hadn’t used it before, so what better time to pull it out than for this card!
Here you can see the seals, along with the hearts. I used the Mini Heart by DeNami Design, then added Citrone glitter. There’s nothing better than glitter hearts in my book! :)
A big huge thank you to everyone who has been leaving me comments on this blog, and my fitness blog. I have been so blessed by the sweet words- you all are the best!

CR84FN14 Color Challenge

Hello, blog friends!
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I’m sure many of you were watching the SuperBowl- hope you enjoyed it and your team won. :) Truth be told, I don’t understand football at all, so I never watch the games. Instead, I took a blissful Sunday nap and created some cards.
Lately there has been SO many amazing challenges in blog land. I have watched the CR84FN challenges from afar, but I couldn’t resist playing along with this color combo. (Brought by my friend, Sue Lelli!)

Here’s my take on this color combo…

I pulled out lots of new DeNami Design goodies for this card. I was leaning towards doing an everyday card, but I just couldn’t resist pulling out Valentine stamps for this challenge. Remember how I said I’m addicted to doilies? Yup, had to bring another one out again.

For those interested, here’s the list of DeNami stamps I used:
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I’ll have another card for you tomorrow- yup, I’m on a roll! :)

Color Trends Challenge: Hearts

Happy Saturday to you!
It’s not too often I’ll post on a Saturday…usually only if there’s a really great challenge happening. *wink* This week, the awesome Embellish challenges have started again, and I couldn’t wait to play along.
For this card, I pulled out the new Whale stamp, along with the Mini Heart, Decorative Love and Hearts stamp set. (All from DeNami Design)
I LOVE this color combination so much- never would have thought to put these colors together. Definitely going to have to play with this combo again. :)
Here you can see that I paper pieced the whale- who would have thought there could be pink polka dot whales? Ah, the beauty of cardmaking. :)
Thanks for stopping by today- hope this card brought a smile to your face. Be sure to check out the Embellish Color Trends Challenge w/ Hearts!

Colour Q Challenge #70

Hi there!
The new Colour Q Challenge #70 is up, and as soon as I saw the colors, I KNEW I had to find time to play. Arielle always has such great color combos- it’s hard to resist her challenges! :)
Here are the YUMMY colors she chose this time around…..

When I saw that apron with the cupcake and cherry, I immediately thought of the Ice Cream Cone stamp from DeNami Design. It’s been a while since I pulled this one out- what better challenge than this one?
I paper pieced the ice cream cone, so I could incorporate all the colors of the challenge. To finish off the card, I stamped the “You’re A Sweetie” from the Sweet Sayings stamp set, then created the polka dot background with the Medium Polka Dots.
I had so much fun with this challenge, and I know you will too! Be sure to check out the Colour Q Challenge blog– the samples this week were awesome!
On a different note, if you missed my blog post on my fitness blog, I posted my third weigh-in results yesterday. If you’re on a quest to be healthier this year, I’d love for you to check out my other blog. It’s been awesome to get to know others looking to get healthy this year. I’d love for you to join us! :)
Until next time…..
