Sketchy Thursday #52- Take One

As promised, here is another Christmas card! Aren’t these DeNami Design chickies adorable?! Everytime that I used them, I can’t help but smile! :)

This card is based off the sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp: Sketchy Thursday #52. My friend, Amy, told me about this site and how they are celebrating their first year of sketches. Basically, if they can get 52 people to participate in the sketch, they will give one lucky winner a $52 gift card to a fab site! (You can even choose the place!) Be sure to check it out, and also spread the word! How great would it be to get a gift card and go on a shopping spree?!

Hope you all had a great Saturday! I plan on doing a little blog hopping and then I’m headed to bed. Tomorrow I’m heading out to the local fair- it’s so much fun, especially when you go with friends! I see yummy scones, corn on the cob and various other amazing food items in my future.

That’s all for today- you got two blog posts in one day! How amazing is that?!

Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge

Woohoo, we made it to Friday! Today started out LATE- read: 11:00 am! After my {crazy} week and my late night, I was very happy to sleep in. However, I did feel groggy- I may have gotten too much sleep. Crazy, right?!

After running errands with my brother and sister and chores around the house, I was able to do some crafting. I had lots of fun watching Numbers and making {pretty} cards. Today was definitely a day of random color schemes- none of the cards look the same!

Here is a card that I made for the color challenge at Embellish Magazine. This is definitely not my normal color combination- guess that’s why it’s a CHALLENGE, right?! Of course, when I saw that we had to incorporate polka dots, I knew that I HAD to participate. ;)

More on Embellish Magazine……it’s brand new, so you can start participating from the very beginning! There are some great people involved in this magazine- I couldn’t think of more talented people! The founder, Ashley Cannon Newell, has some amazing cards on her blog. Just judging from her style, I know this magazine is going to be absolutely fantastic. If you get a chance, be sure to stop by Embellish!

Well, that’s all for tonight. I’ll blog again tomorrow!

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #35

Yippee! I’m glad I was able to play with Kazan’s 2 Sketches 4 You sketch this week! It was a fairly easy sketch, which always helps with my busy schedule. I absolutely love this color combo- can you tell? I just realized that I did these colors last time I played at 2S4Y!

Have you been able to tell I have made an effort to post on my blog more often? I wanted to post on Monday, but didn’t know if you guys get tired of hearing from me. I figured distance (ie: time) makes the heart grow fonder. :)

I’m still trying to mentally come up with a birthday card for my mom. Time is ticking and I’m starting to get frustrated with myself. I think I’m just going to do a “simple” card and see how that works. Unfortunately, you aren’t able to see it until AFTER her birthday- she reads my blog occasionally!

Well, it’s off to bed I go. One more work day this week, then it’s my weekend! I really have to enjoy this one- come Monday, I’m gonna be crazy busy prepping for my trip to Las Vegas.

‘Night all!

P.S. Be sure to enter the DeNami Design blog giveaway! You could win a $50 gift certificate!

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #34

If you read my earlier post, you know that I haven’t participated in Dawn’s challenges for a long time. However, it’s been even longer since I have done a 2 Sketches 4 You sketch! I was looking back, and it’s been over 4 months! I am SO glad I was able to play this week- this sketch is fab!

I used my two favorite stamp companies to make this card: DeNami Design and Papertrey Ink. I absolutely love the G143 Christmas Holly Vine stamp- it is so perfect for making backgrounds! Oh yes, and who could resist the fun nesting stamps?! I absolutely love them!

Since this is my THIRD post today, I think I’ll wrap it up. Hopefully you’re jumping for joy at seeing the many posts today….I would hate for it to be the opposite!

If you missed my earlier post, be sure to check out the CUTTLEBUG I am giving away! Yes, as blog candy, I’m giving away a brand new machine and two amazing embossing folders! Be sure to pass on the good news!

Raspberry Color Challenge #16

Woah, it’s been a long time since I have participated in one of Dawn’s color challenges! I have been keeping up with them, but in between no creativity and lack of time, I haven’t been able to play along.

This week the color challenge was fairly easy for me (yay!). At work I was trying to come with ideas- this one was my favorite, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that it turned out how I wanted it to! Do you ever have ideas in your head that seem fantastic but when you go to give it a try, it goes horribly wrong? This seems to happen to me too often, so glad today wasn’t one of those days!

I saw this Ruffled Ribbon technique on Lisa’s blog and I HAD to give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness. Now I am absolutely addicted to ruffling all my saddle stitch ribbons! I have already made five cards featuring this technique- you’ll be seeing them in future posts.

Well, in closing this post, just wanted to plug my HUGE blog candy– a Cuttlebug machine with embossing folders. Be sure to check it out!!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #8

Oh my goodness, can you say stunning?! I LOVE Dawn’s colors this week- I had to play along! This is one color combination that I know I will use again in the future. It was so fun & easy!

I love my new stamp set additions- Green Thumb and Bird Watching Additions. Lately my new kick has been birds. Can’t. Get. Enough! Both of the sets I have from Melissa (BWA and Wishing You) are AMAZING! They are so versatile and fun! As usual, I’m already checking out what other sets I need. I just bought a PTI Anniversary set from a person who had an extra….SO excited to play with it. I’ll be sure to show you samples!

Well, I must call it a night. I’ve been working a lot lately and I need my beauty sleep. (We all know I need it!)

Thanks for stopping by! Can’t wait to see all of your beautiful creations.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #6

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been so long since I have played along with Dawn’s color challenges! It seems like it was not that long ago, but alas, I am wrong, as usual! Seriously, where is the time going these days?!

I absolutely loved this weeks challenge. Dawn has a knack for finding the perfect color combinations! I was so happy that she chose some of my most favorite PTI colors- I had all the papers, ribbons and inks to play with this one! :) For this card I used three different PTI stamp sets (Wishing You, Guidelines and Damask Designs). I absolutely LOVE these sets….don’t they look fab together?

Since I feel like I haven’t written in a while, I’ll give a little update. I’ve been keeping very busy at work, which is a good thing. Lately, I have also been keeping busy with my Etsy store and my part-time job. Alas, with all of these different things going on, I haven’t had much of a chance to blog hop or even post on my blog! If you are wanting a “Paulina update” more often, be sure to check out my Twitter! You can find me here. Since I can update from my computer AND phone, I tend to update more frequently.

I miss all of you dearly! Leave me a comment and let me know what’s new in your world!

*hugs*

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #24

Seems like it’s been a while since I have done a challenge…I HAVE been stamping, but nothing very exciting or blog worthy. :) This is my take on Kazan’s sketch. I have loved using the PTI Guidelines stamp set- can you tell from this post or this post? It’s so easy to use, and there are so many possibilites! Granted, I am horrible at doing the actual lines….I need to get a bigger block- I can only stamp a little at a time!

This morning I woke up to snow. Can I say once again that I’m tired of snow?? I am SO ready for flipflops and sunglasses- I’m over the sweatshirts and scarves! Okay, I really don’t mind them, but I WOULD like some sun!

Oh, I have to tell you all about my new obsession. Twitter. I have no idea why I like it so much, it’s only little updates on people! Do you have one? If so, leave your username so I can look you up!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 3

First of all, I have to say that I am SO happy to be out of bed! I have been sick since Thursday and did not leave the house ALL weekend. I’m still stuffed up, and somewhat tired, but I think I’m finally on the road to recovery. (I think the SUNSHINE helped LOTS- can you believe it was 79*?!?)

Dawn has put together another fabulous color challenge this week. I have to admit, I was overwhelmed with the five colors. After browsing through various entries, I finally got the courage to try a card. Three failed attempts and lots of wasted cardstock, I almost gave up….but I had to give it one last try. Not exactly what I had envisioned, but I do like the end result. What do you think?

Well, it’s off to bed I go. I’m hoping that with going to bed early and drinking tons of orange juice, this sickness bug will move along quickly.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pass the Kleenex

As I write, I’m laying in bed with a miserable headache, runny nose, sore throat and cough. I don’t know how I got this sick, but what I do know is that I need this horrible thing to go away….QUICK! I had a terrible time trying to sleep last night- I was finally able to after taking Benadryl to make me drowsy. Needless to say, I’m not exactly in the best mood.

I made this card yesterday (while I was still feeling somewhat human). I have yet to decide whether I really like this card or not. It is pretty busy for me, but I though the yellow was fun to play with. I almost submitted this card to 2S4Y, but like I said in an earlier post, the other card got the most votes.

Sorry to cut this short, but me and my bed have a date. (Hopefully it will be good to me this time!) If you think of it, prayers would be most appreciated! :D
