M’s Sketch Challenge #2

Okay, I couldn’t resist….I had to participate in M’s sketch challenge this week. How cute is this little girlie? I don’t know how old she is, but she definitely has some creativity in that little body of hers! :) I so badly wanted to participate in the first challenge but never got around to it. Oh well, at least I could do it this week!

I absolutely LOVE my new Holiday Button Bits set. If you have been following my blog, you know that I cannot get enough buttons. I have at least 15 different colors! I’m trying to remember cards without buttons- how did we survive without them?! :)

Well, that’s a wrap for tonight. Hope you had a great weekend!

Holiday Planner Notebook

Happy Friday, sweet friends!

I know it’s only been two days since I last posted, but it seems like forever! Thank you to everyone who has left comments recently- I am utterly amazed and blessed by all of your kind words. It was just a few months ago where I almost started {and sometimes did} beg for comments. After getting my blog hooked up to Google Analytics, I was shocked at how many people actually look at my little ‘ol blog!

Like I mentioned in this post, I love the Embellish Magazine color challenge this week. Since I just got my latest Papertrey order, I knew I wanted to play with my new goodies. I figured I would use my new notebooks/ stamp sets and have them be part of this fun challenge! What are your thoughts? I though it turned out pretty fab. :) This year I’m determined to plan ahead for the Christmas season- hopefully this notebook will help!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’m going to my LSS who is hosting a “Stamp Night”. They provide dinner, lots of stamps and ink pads, giveaways and also 10% off your purchases for the night. I’m going with a few friends- it’s going to be so much fun! I need to figure out which cardstocks and other supplies I’m going to bring. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Okay, well it’s getting quite late and I want to catch up on some sleep. Thanks for stopping by!

Raspberry Color Challenge #18

Wow, two posts on a Wednesday? How abnormal for me! :)

Oh goodness, today has been a long day- can’t wait to lay my head on my fluffy pillow! From the moment I woke up this morning, I have been ready to go back to bed. Do you ever have those days? For some reason, I have been super tired lately- I don’t like the feeling! I’m hoping it’s just my body recovering from some hard workouts….please no sickness bug! My sister caught something today at school, so I’m really praying that I don’t get anything.

Can you believe how delish this color challenge is? Dawn never ceases to amaze me with her fabulous challenges. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this color combo- definitely one to remember for future projects! After playing with a card for over an hour, I finally nixed the card and started a new card. This card came together in 15 minutes- amazing, huh? Well, if you know how slow of a crafter I am, this truly is a feat worth mentioning. :)

That’s all for now, blog friends. ‘Night!

Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Signature Christmas, Vintage Labels
Paper: Brown Kraft, Cream, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Tea Dye Duo

Embellish the Cure

Happy Monday, dear friends! Hope you all got your week off to a good start.

Don’t have too much to say today…so let’s move right onto the card. I absolutely LOVE this weeks Embellish Magazine challenge. The challenge was to use fuchsia, light pink, grey and rhinestones. Seriously, could there be a better challenge for me?! When I saw the challenge, I seriously wanted to start on a card right away. However, it was past 10pm and I knew I should be responsible and get some sleep. (No one likes talking to rude people on the phone!) After work I went to the gym (I’m SO determined to lose these 18 pounds!). However, while I was there, the only thing I could think about was this challenge! I ended up cutting my workout short so I could work on a card! Yes, I know, I’m a little strange….I blame Ashley for coming up with such an amazing challenge! :)

I’m pretty crazy about this card. Wish you could see the card in person…the rhinestones really make the card pop! I already have ideas on another card using these colors- I’m sure you’ll see another card {or two} featuring this weeks challenge.

As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Guide Lines Two,
Paper: White, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Smoky Grey
Other: Hot Pink grosgrain, light pink rhinestones, SU! scallop border punch

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #37

Hello blog friends!

I’m so happy that I was able to participate in this weeks 2S4Y sketch! It’s been a little while since I’ve joined in the fun. I really wanted to play last week, but I just didn’t have enough time. I was able to look at some of the entries- wow, you ladies are definitely improving each week!

Moving onto the card….I had this card designed in my head, but it took a little while to get all the kinks out onto paper. After two hours (!) and two episodes of Numbers, I finally finished this Christmas card. This is definitely a “girly” Christmas card. :)

Oh, one more thing, did you notice that I have had a supply list on my last two posts? Any thoughts? Should I continue doing this?

Well, that’s all for tonight. Thanks for stopping by! As always, I love reading comments from you all…it’s the highlight of my mornings!

Stamps: Christmas Holly Vine, Merry Christmas Block, Leafy Vine Wreath, Sm. Poinsettia Blossom
Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Magenta, Spring Moss
Ink: Vintage Sepia Versafine, Tea Dye Duo
Other: SU! scallop border punch, brown grosgrain ribbon, 1 1/2″ scallop circle punch

Circle Card Color Challenge

I need to get a Cricut cartridge that makes circle cards….it’s too hard doing it any other way. I followed the instructions from the Embellish Magazine website to make a circle card using two circle die cuts. Their sample looked phenomenal, but I don’t think mine looks all that great. Even though I’m not completely thrilled with my finished product, I figured I should show you since it did take me a little while. :)

I love how fun and funky circle cards are- you never see them at the stores! It was nice to play with a different card shape for a change. Have you participated in this challenge yet? You still have time to get in on this fun!

I’m on baby-sitting duty, so I need to make sure the kiddos are in bed. (Don’t worry, I type fast, so I haven’t been “away” for too long. :)

‘Night blog friends!

Stamps: Fancy Flourishes, Damask Designs
Paper: White, Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Bitty Dots Basics
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Spring Moss
Other: Aqua Mist and Spring Moss buttons, Cricut Expression

Raspberry Color Challenge #17- Take 3

Yes, I know, I know, I have already participated in Dawn’s color challenge TWICE already. If it’s worth anything, this one is my favorite….I wish I had come up with this card first! Here is another card that I made for Tawsha’s newsletter. Can’t you just imagine a bride giving this to the photographer, caterer or wedding planner? I think it’s so fun and whimsical, and yet it’s simple and elegant.

Okay, that’s all for today….even though I have a ton of other cards I could show you, I think I’ll spread them out over a few days. Gotta keep you coming back for more, right? :)

Embellish Magazine Submission

Hey girlies! Happy World Card Making Day to you! Any fun plans? Hopefully it’ll involve some paper crafting! :) I know I have lots planned for today….I’m so excited!

I am finally posting the card that I submitted for the Embellish Magazine publication call. Yes, this is the one that I did not read correctly. I had Aqua Mist ribbon I could have used too! I guess my “speedy reading” has finally caught up to me.

Right now I am working on some pretty fab cards- can’t wait to show you! I had someone approach me to design some cards for her business newsletter- I nearly squealed with delight! I’m going to be focusing on elegant thank you cards. It’s been so much fun, and the owner is such a sweetie. I’ll fill you in on all the details when I have them!

That’s it for now. Gonna get ready to hit the gym. While I may not achieve my goal of losing 15-20 pounds this year, I’m gonna do my best to lose as many as I can! :)

Raspberry Color Challenge #17- Take 2

As you can see from the title, here is my second take of Dawn’s color challenge. I really didn’t like the first card, and I’m not entirely thrilled with this second one either….what is wrong with me?! I need my creativity to kick in soon….lots of deadlines. (I’ll post more about this when I can.)

I know this is super short, but I have to finish dinner and get working on some projects.

Have a great night!

Raspberry Color Challenge #17

Can you believe it?! You get two posts in a day! When I first saw Dawn’s color challenge, I thought it would be a piece of cake….until I started working on it. I think my creative mojo is all gone- I have no new ideas! Hopefully once I make a few more cards, I’ll get some of my creativity back.
As of today, I’m going to be on a budget for my stamping supplies. I have NEVER been on one before, so this is going to be really hard. Any tips? I still need to figure out how much I’m going to allow myself to spend…..not looking forward to it!
That’s all for me tonight. I think the week has just caught up to me. I see a sugar-free raspberry italian soda in my immediate future. :) ‘Night!
