DeNami Sketch Challenge #3

Hello blog friends!

It’s the 20th which means it’s time for a new DeNami Design blog challenge! We rotate between our four categories (sketch, theme, color and theme)- this time we’re doing a fun sketch! Sketches are some of my favorites to do; they are easy to translate to your style, and it’s fun to see all the different takes on the same sketch!
For my card today, I knew I wanted to play with the Tulip Border. It’s been a little while since I played with this pretty stamp. I just love how it coordinates with the Scallop Tulip Circle, so I had to bring that one out too! :) At the bottom I added one of the stamps from the Let’s Get Together set. Have I mentioned that I love the style of this sentiment before? Man, I wish I had writing like that…..
I hope you’ll play along with this FUN sketch! For this particular one, you don’t have to use DeNami stamps, so there is no excuse not to join in on the fun! You have until July 30th, 11:59 PST to play. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Have a fabulous Tuesday! I’ll see you tomorrow with my DeNami Design Product Spotlight post featuring some adorable stamps!

Embellish Ric Rac Color Challenge

Yippee! It’s time for another fabulous Embellish Color Challenge! This time the challenge was to use orange, turquoise, brown and kraft in addition to some ric rac. I’m so loving these colors together- it’s so unique and fresh! (It also seems to be very popular….)
A few weeks back I ordered the stunning Mehndi Medallions set, but haven’t had a chance to play with them until now. As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew this was the set I needed to use. I love the look of these medallions- completely different than anything else I own! Did you see how I used my ric rac? I used it as a border on my middle panel! Pretty neat, huh? If you don’t have any scallop punches, you could easily use a ric rac one and create your own. :)
I have lots planned for the weekend, so I’m not exactly sure if I’ll be able to post again. I’ll do my very best though! I have lots and lots of cards to share with you. :)
Thanks for spending some time with me. I hope you were inspired!
Stamps: Mehndi Medallions (WPlus9)
Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores (PTI)

Other: Bronze rhinestones, Espresso Boutique Buttons, Spellbinders Labels Eleven dies, orange wrinkled ribbon, twine, paper piercer, ric rac border

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #56

Hi there, sweet blog friends!
I’m so sorry it has been a while since I have posted. You probably guessed that I have been crazy busy. If you did, you are absolutely correct! I can almost see the end of the tunnel, which is a very exciting feeling.
In order to keep stamping fun, I’m still trying to squeeze in a few “fun” projects in. Yes, I know I’m crazy. I feel like I need to keep some sort of normalcy in my life- since my life is stamping right now, I figured I’d throw in some fun challenges. This time, I tried my hand at Kazan’s Sketch #56. Thank goodness it was an easy sketch! :) I’m utterly in love with this new Elegant Floral Vine. It’s so perfect for a focal point, but also for creating backgrounds!
I’m going to keep this blog post short. If you haven’t entered my EK Success blog giveaway yet, be sure to do so soon! It’ll end on my birthday- Tuesday, July 13th!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you were inspired!

DeNami Color Challenge #3

Happy Monday!
It’s the 5th of the month which means it’s time for a new DeNami Design challenge! This time around it’s a color challenge, and it’s a fun one at that! The colors: cream, avocado, light moss, coral and red.
I knew I had to play with the new stamps for this card- they are too pretty not to! I chose the Elegant Floral Wreath as my focal point. I love how this stamp can be used for Christmas, but you can also change the colors and use it for everyday cards! To add to the background I chose the Three Line Border and new Polka Dot Background. These are hands down some of my favorite stamps. :)
I hope you’ll find some time to play along with the challenge. There’s a $25 DeNami Design gift certificate up for grabs- perfect for a mini shopping spree! The deadline for the challenge is July 15th, so be sure to work on your card soon!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you were inspired!

My Beach House Day #1

Happy Friday to you all!
It’s been quite exciting here on the blog, hasn’t it? Well, today is the start of some more fun things! It’s time to share a card and sketch for the upcoming release of My Beach House! Courtney is so good about making the releases exciting and fun- this one is no exception! Each one of the Practicing Creativity DT members have created a card to go along with a sketch. Pretty fun, right? I haven’t even gotten to the exciting part….there’s a chance to win a $50 Practicing Creativity gift certificate!!! How amazing is that?!
I went with a fairly simple card design so there is plenty of room to embellish. I was completely taken with these flags- they are so fun to color with my Copics! Did you notice all the fun backgrounds on the panels? I used My Beach House, Key to my Heart and Look Up to accomplish this look. Have I mentioned that’s it’s easy to mix and match Courtney’s sets? ;)
In closing I want to be sure to mention that you should visit Courtney, Dana and Alice! They also have some cards to share + their own sketches! Lots of choices, so there are no excuses not to join us in the fun! The deadline is July 15th, so be sure to create something before then!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back tomorrow with another card featuring My Beach House!

2 Sketches 4 You- Laura’s Sketch #55

Hello there!

This week while I was doing my usual blog hopping, I was taken aback by Laura’s Sketch #55. I really love the look of this sketch- probably because it’s so versatile! Even though I’m crazy busy, I just had to make time to play along.
Have I mentioned that I love these new Jack O’Lanterns from DeNami Design? I honestly could make dozens of cards with these little guys. For this card I stuck to the sketch pretty literally. I wanted to stick with more neutral colors, since that’s what I tend to think of when I think of Halloween.
Is anyone else excited about the huge release set to premiere tomorrow at DeNami Design? In case you missed the news, there are 55 brand new images + lots of fabulous new accessories. Mark your calendars for 9AM, PST- that’s when they will be up for sale on the website! Also, be sure to stop by the DeNami blog for your chance at three different giveaways!
Thanks for stopping by, sweet friends! Have a fabulous day!

Go To Sketch Challenge #4

Hi there!
I’m back in Washington….the best place on earth! It was fun visiting Florida, but I couldn’t live there. The humidity was insane and I couldn’t believe how it was sunny one second then pouring rain the next! A little too bi-polar for me. :) I’ll be posting a recap of my trip in the next few days….
Today I’m featuring a sweet card based off the Go To Sketch Challenge #4. I just love this sketch- it’s an awesome design! For this card I decided to pull out some of the Best Friend Chickies. Aren’t they adorable?! I love coloring these girls and then adding some Citrone glitter– the perfect finishing touch!
Have you checked out the first sneak peek over on the DeNami Design blog? I’m so excited about this collection! There is going to be three days of picture peeks then we’ll be featuring some cards with the new designs. Lots of fun things coming up….be sure to stop by everyday!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope this card brought a smile to your face!

DeNami Theme Challenge #2

Hello there, sweet friends!

It’s the 20th of the month which means it’s time for a new DeNami Design challenge! This time around it’s a theme, and the theme is Summer or Tropical! Since I rarely create anything tropical, I thought it would be fun to go this route. (Remember, I’m all about a challenge and changing things up!)
For this card I brought out the popular Surfboard Trio. It’s been a few years since I played with it- I forgot how fun it was to use! When I think of Summer or tropical, I always think of bright and happy colors. What better color combo then pinks, greens, yellows and a touch of brown? LOVE them! I love them so much I created 15+ cards in this color scheme. :)
Before I close, I wanted to mention that I got to meet the SWEET Naomi! This girlie is an absolute doll and oh so energetic! I totally clicked with her- seriously would have loved spending the day with her! Be sure to stop by her blog- her posts make me laugh, and she’s uber talented too! :)
Hope you enjoyed today’s card! I hope you’ll stop by the sunny DeNami blog and take a look at the amazing samples by the design team! We’d also love for you to participate in the challenge- there’s a $25 DeNami gift certificate up for grabs!

Color Cue Challenge #5

Hello sweet blog friends!
Today is the day….the day where I set off in a jet plane and head to Orlando Florida! Let’s not forget that June 17, 2010 is also the day where I fly all by myself, (I’m a big girl now!) and also see my family for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks. I cannot wait to land in HOT Florida and see my little brothers! Boy do I miss them terribly….
For today’s card I took my inspiration from the new Color Cue Challenge #5. Have I mentioned that I love playing along with Dawn’s challenges? She always chooses colors that truly stretch me, and this was no exception. I had just gotten in The Birds and the Bees so I had to bring it out in this card. Since my collection of Dawn’s stamps are growing, I was able to use just her stamps on this card. :)
Speaking of Dawn…..I’m so excited that I get to meet her this weekend! Since I’m working at the StampFest show (in Florida) it was the perfect place to meet her (and my other FL blog friends). I’m also getting the chance to meet Naomi, Ayana and hopefully Laurel. Super excited!! If you are in Florida, I’d love for you to come see me! I’ll be at the DeNami Design booth- come by and say hello!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Hope this post inspired you!

2 Sketches 4 You- Laura’s Sketch #54

Hi there!

I know I haven’t made an “official” announcement, but I know that lots of you found out. For last week’s 2S4Y sketch (card found here) I was chosen as the Card of the Week! I was so shocked and honored when I found out. Thanks to those who have left me love regarding this! You guys are so sweet!
Okay….moving on to the card at hand….I couldn’t help but play with Laura’s sketch #54 this week. As usual, she designed a fab sketch! I took a little liberty with this one, but overall I stayed true to the sketch. I felt like creating a fun card so I brought out some of my cute Lawn Fawn stamps. :) These always put a smile on my face!
In closing I want to mention that I have a few different YouTube videos posted- there are a total of five different ones. Click here to view my channel. Also, if you are interested in seeing more, be sure to “subscribe” on YouTube!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Hope you were inspired!
