10 Minute Cards

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here to share a few cards that I made combining some beautiful Altenew stamps with Pretty Pink Posh dies and sequins – such a perfect combination! This is also your reminder of the Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew, which ends in two days.

altenew-ultimate-challenge-blog-hop-graphic_720x396-1

This always used to be one of my VERY favorite challenges! Something about trying to make a card in just 10 minutes – so stressful sometimes, and yet SOOO fun! Let me start by noting – I did NOT make all 3 of these cards under 10 minutes, I made each one separately, and each time shortened my time by about a minute or more. I figured it was fun to show how easy it is to take a simple design and make multiple cards all very quickly!

cards-9-18-16-005

For these cards, I layed out the florals from Altenew’s Floral Shadow Stamp set in my full size MISTI – this allowed me to easily create more cards without having to stamp everything individually. I stamped the panels in 3 different ink colors from Simon Says Stamp – Laurel Green, Apricot, and Wisteria. I used PPP’s Scallop Ovals dies to create a frame – even trimmed thin strips of foam adhesive to make it pop off the background a bit.

altenew-clear-stamps-floral-shadow-alt1121_image1__06826-1470254062-1280-1280-1

This first card took me 9 minutes and 6 seconds – I was kind of scared I wasn’t going to make it in time! As usually happens, I had a clog in my glue bottle, couldn’t find my foam tape for a few seconds, and other tiny mishaps, but made with it almost a minute to spare! Whew! On this one I embellished with Rose Gold sequins in 6mm and 4mm.

cards-9-18-16-017

This second card I shaved almost a minute off my time, so got down to 8 minutes and 17 seconds. I honestly thought I was going even faster than that – so I was surprised it took that long! Haha! On this one, I embellished with Metallic Gold sequins, again in 6mm and 4mm.

cards-9-18-16-029

And finally, on this one I got my quickest time – 6 minutes and 57 seconds! YAY! You can see now how easy it would be to keep recreating this same card in different colors and with different sentiments! This last one I embellished with Metallic Silver, in 6mm and 4mm as before.

cards-9-18-16-035

What do you think – do you like recreating extra cards when you find a design you love that works? Such a great way to spend a little time and make several cards at the same time!

Winter Wonderland (New Products)

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here this morning, and boy am I excited to be able to share a card using some of the absolutely DARLING new releases with you (they’ll be available on October 5th)! There are stamps, dies, and sequin mixes galore – I had a hard time deciding what to play with first! I ended up making a snowy winter shaker card.

cards-9-28-16-036-2

The new Stitched Pieces die is so fun and versatile – perfect for shaker or window cards. I can see lots of possibilities with this one! I used it to create a shaker portion on the top and bottom, and a window in the center for my sentiment.

cards-9-28-16-052
The adorable characters and sentiment are from the brand new Winter Wonderland stamp set – once I colored them up with Copics, I used the coordinating Winter Wonderland coordinating dies to cut them each out.
 cards-9-28-16-045

My shaker windows are filled with the beautiful new Winter Sparkle sequin mix, and I added snowflakes from another new sequin mix – Snowflake Sequin Mix – on the outside to embellish. A simple line around the outside with a fine line black pen and my ruler to help make it somewhat straight finish this off! See in the center how I left it open for the sentiment? This also adds great dimension to the card.

What are you most excited for in the new release so far?

Paper Piecing Made Easy

Hello crafters! Julia here and today I have a card for you showing off the Camping Friends set with a fun technique.

Pretty Pink Posh: Paper Piecing Made Easy

The crafting world is full of mysteries and for the longest time, I wondered by people would pierce paper and why I wasn’t seeing it on their projects. My brain had played tricks on me and one day, I realized I had misread the technique – it’s paper piecing, not piercing. Time to give it a try :)

Pretty Pink Posh: Paper Piecing Made Easy

I am using the new Camping Friends set and die set for this card. In addition, I am creating a background with a stencil and some Distress Inks and my blending tool. That will help my tent pop right off the card.

My contrast color on this card is white, and that’s why I left the grassy border I had die cut with a Lawn Fawn die white. It’s such a lovely contrast against the sun.

Pretty Pink Posh: Paper Piecing Made Easy

You know I like to add extra sparkle to my cards, so I used my Perfect Pearls spray again; in addition I also used some Copics to add shading to my patterned paper which I had glued to the die cut tent shape – hence paper piecing.

Throwback Thursday: Stitched Tags

Pretty Pink Posh: Throwback ThursdayHi everyone!  Amy K. here for this month’s Throwback Thursday with creative uses for some of the previously released Pretty Pink Posh dies.

Throwback Thursday: Stitched Tags
I decided to focus on the Stitched Tags Die and use them as a “background/scene builder”.  I started with blending Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks onto a white cardstock panel. I arranged one of the Stitched Tags Dies and die cut out.  I did this 3 times and saved my “template” as this came in handy when spacing my tags for my background.  Next, I spaced my tags and used the Scallop Borders Dies to make my “grass”.  To start assembling my card, I used my template to place my tags with foam adhesive and the grass with 2 layers of foam adhesive for dimension.  I wanted my scene to really pop away from my card front since it is white.
 Throwback Thursday: Stitched Tags
The adorable Fox Friends set was a perfect fit for my 3 tags and the scene I was building.  All 3 foxes were colored with Copic markers, die cut with the coordinating dies, and added with foam adhesive.  To continue with my scene, I added a few die cut clouds from the Rainy Days die set that were embellished with the Iridescent Mini Circle Confetti.  To finish, I added a smiling sun, from the Camping Friends set, and a little sign saying “Thanks a Bunch” being held by the fox.

Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set

Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set

I’m so excited to announce we are releasing another exclusive, limited edition stamp set for STAMPtember® over at Simon Says Stamp! Last year we released our very first stamp set there and you all seemed to really enjoy it, so we thought another set was in order. Our new exclusive set is called Winter Bird Friend.

Today I have the lovely Liz, one of my PPP design team members, sharing cards using this new set. Let’s take a look at what she created… borderwinterbirdfriend

I thought it would be fun to create a winter scene using these adorable little birds using this exclusive Winter Bird Friend set all dressed up in their little outfits, so I started off by using some distress inks for the sky and combined, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Tumbled Glass. Also, added some white splatters to resemble some snow.

Next, I created these snow hills by using the new Scallop Borders die where I die cut three of them to place one on top of another to form the hills.

Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set

To add some dimension, I used some white fun foam underneath the middle and top hills, but before placing the top one, I stamped down one of the many wonderful Christmas sentiments.

I love the variety of the winter hats from this set along with the cute scarf’s, so I pulled out my copic markers to color them using a red combination of R35, R46, R59 and glued them in place. Also, added these adorable little ice skates and added some silver glitter.

Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set

To add some more details to the scene, I pulled out these wonderful trees from the Winter Friends set and added several 4mm Clear Droplets to give the illusion of snow falling.  Plus, I love how they shine against the sky and snowy hills.

For this next card, I was thinking of a snow globe and thought it would be perfect to use this beautiful Window Frames as it’s also one of my favorites to create scenes. Plus, I love the detailed stitching it leaves along the window both outside and inside.

Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set

From there, I thought stars would look nice, so I pulled out some cute Silver Mini Star Confetti and glued them down.  Love how these mini stars adds details. From there, I added several Silver Shimmer Beads for the shaker portion as I love the way they shake inside and adds to the snow effect.

Last but not least, I got another chance to play dress up with these darling little birds with their hats, scarfs, and little shoes. Also, I couldn’t resist but to use those little ice skates again while the other one has little booties. Aren’t they cute?

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Pretty Pink Posh: Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello everyone, Joni here participating in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Pretty Pink Posh is one of the sponsors and we thought it would be a good time to share some sneaks of the upcoming products for the coming October 5th release.

Pretty Pink Posh: Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

To begin my card, I first stamped the coffee images from the upcoming Christmas Friends stamp set. The different sized leaves and groundhogs are from the upcoming Giving Thanks stamp set. I also stamped the sentiment on the card base. Then, cut the larger frame from the Scallop Ovals dies to create a shaker for my card.

Pretty Pink Posh: Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

For the inside of the shaker I used the 3mm Sparkling Clear sequins, Iridescent Mini Circle Confetti and the upcoming ¼’ Iridescent Star Confetti.

Cheery Camping Scene

Good morning my sparkly Pretty Pink Posh friends! Heather here this morning to share a fun little camping theme card with you! Since I hadn’t had a chance yet to play with the new Camping Friends Stamp Set – AND my family just returned from camping recently, it seemed like the perfect opportunity!

Pretty Pink Posh: Cheery Camping Scene

I went a little non-traditional with the colors – I actually chose my plaid paper first, then based my color scheme around that – so bright and happy! I used the new Stitched Hexagons Dies for the base for my scene, and Scallop Border Dies to create both the hill and the side border of the plaid paper.

Pretty Pink Posh: Cheery Camping Scene

I also used the coordinating Camping Friends Dies to cut out the elements for my scene. Once they were colored with Copics, I layered everything together, tucked a doily underneath, and finished off with some Iridescent Mini Circle Confetti attached in the sky with some Glossy Accent dots – like it’s raining glitter!

Fox Family Photo

Hello crafters! Julia here and today I have a fun card for you showing off the Fox Friends stamp set from the August release!

Pretty Pink Posh: Fox Family Photo

I wanted to create a silly card, just because I looked at the Fox Friends stamps and one of the foxes jumped out at me (pun intended!) and I thought it would be fun if he would be photo-bombing! (Have you ever followed Jennifer McGuire’s stream on IG? Her family is amazing at photo-bombing, so that’s probably where I got the idea from, LOL).

Pretty Pink Posh: Fox Family Photo

I stamped the foxes on copic friendly paper and used my alcohol markers to color them in. I like high-contrast coloration, so I even added a dark brown in to the color mix to make sure I got nice, deep shadows. I used the Scallop Circles die to create a window-opening on my front panel and sponged the card base behind it with some blue distress ink for additional contrast.

Of course I had to finish up my project with a few Espresso and Sparkling Clear sequins!
