I Like The Way You Roll

Hi friends, this is Debbie up on the Pretty Pink Posh blog today. Showing you how I made this super fun card with the new Construction Additions stamp and coordinating diesIn 2022 Pretty Pink Posh came out with a fun release with Construction Trucks stamp set,  so here is a great addition for your collection.

Starting off to making my background, at the time I didn’t have the Layered Roads Stencil. With that being said I created some Safety cones, using the Layered Party Hats Stencils.

1. Masking off the top of Layer A with low tack tape. Ink blended on Lawn Fawn Fake Tan and Pumpkin Spice.

2. Created the base of the safety cone by taking the die from Spring Mug Additions, it looks like the top layer of the honey dipper. Using the die to cut into acetate, with partial die cutting. The opening is only 13/16th inch long. Place the acetate base on the cone bottom, mask off if need be and ink blend on with black ink.

3. Take Party Hats layer B place over the blended cones, you will have to slide around the stencil  to position correctly over the ones that would have been dots. Mask off the top and sides of the cone to ink blend on White Pigment ink making the stripes.

4. In your Misti, stamp out the Cement Truck, Concrete Roller, and the accessories onto X-Press It Smooth White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

COPIC Colors

Safety signs: YR 09,YR07,YR04, Y18, Y15, Y13
Piles of Rocks: W3, W1, W0
Concrete Roller: Y18, Y15, Y13
Cement Truck: B26, B24, B23, B21
Tires: C9, C7, C5, C3
Wheels: C3, C1, C0
Windows: BG000
Shovel Handle: E44, E42
Blade:C3, C1, C0

5. Die cut out with Construction Additions coordinating dies.

6. Trim a piece of Concord & 9th Dove cardstock to measure 1 1/2 X 6 inches

7. Die cut out with the thinnest die from Simple Strips Die set, one from MFT-Lemon Drop and two from White cardstock.

8. Attach the white strips on the edges of the gray cardstock strip, yellow in the center using liquid glue. You have now made a road for your vehicles.

9. Adhere the road to the Safety Cone panel at a slight angle with liquid glue. Trim off the edges that hang over the panel.

10. Cut the panel down to measure 4 1/8 X 5 3/8 inches horizontal. Mat the panel with black cardstock measuring 4.25 X 5.5 inches.

11. I like to place my panel into the Misti with the images about the areas I want. So I can stamp out my sentiment from the Construction Additions stamp set with black ink. Making perfect placement!

12. Add 3D foam squares to the back of the colored images and attach to the panel. Attach then the panel to a standard A2 card base.

13. Add highlights with a Gelly Roll white #08 pen.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post! Have a wonderful day!

Construction Vehicles Card Duo

Hi everyone! Christina here from My Crafty Trails to share some super fun shaker cards with you. I have two cards that feature the new, awesomely large Big Excavator and Big Dump Truck die sets from the June release. One card is a full-panel shaker and the other has a small shaker element. Both are easy to create, so let’s get started!

To start, I used the new Brick Background Stencil and Tea Dye and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks to stencil both background panels and two stitched frames from the Nature Essentials set. For a little distressing, I splattered all the pieces with thinned white paint, Gathered Twigs, and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

Next, I die cut and assembled all the elements for the Big Excavator and the Big Dump Truck using colored cardstock. I pulled my colors right from the new Construction Zone Shaker Beads I used to fill my shakers, including the matte silver cardstock. I love these shaker beads, and I think they will be perfect for Halloween projects too!

I added splatter detail to the dirt mounds, rocks, and the little scoop of dirt for the excavator bucket with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and Oxide Inks in Tea Dye and Pumice Stone.

To create the full panel shaker, I die cut another stitched frame and sandwiched a piece of acetate between this and the stenciled frame, securing everything with double-sided tape. This creates the shaker window. Before adding foam strips around the perimeter of the stenciled brick background, I stamped a couple of the cheeky sentiments from the new Construction Additions stamp set. I added the Construction Zone Shaker Beads to the well created with the foam strips before removing the release paper and then placing the window frame on top. Next, I attached the dirt mounds with thin foam squares and the Big Excavator with double-sided tape. Lastly, I glued a few rocks in place and added one more sentiment to one of the dirt mounds under the excavator.

Creating the Dump Truck card with the smaller shaker element is very similar. I started by die cutting the dirt mound from the stenciled brick background where I wanted the dump truck bed to be. On the reverse side of the background, I attached a small piece of acetate over this space with double-sided tape and then attached foam tape to the rest of the panel, creating a well for the shaker beads. I added the shaker beads, removed the release paper from the foam tape, and placed a brown cardstock panel cut to size on the foam tape. On the front, I stamped more of those cheeky sentiments from the Construction Additions stamp set before attaching the stenciled stitched frame that I had doubled up with another frame like the first card. Lastly, I attached the dirt mounds and rocks with thin foam squares and the dump truck with liquid adhesive.

To finish both cards, I attached them to A2 black cardstock panels and added just a couple of white gel pen highlights. That’s all there is to creating these fun shaker cards using the awesome boy-themed products from the new June release.

Thanks for reading all about my card designs; I hope you like them as much as I do!

You’re A Winner

Hello everyone! It’s June and today I’m sharing this cool sports-themed card using some of the newly released products.

I had so much fun using the layering stencil for my baby card last month, that I had to try it again for the Layered Sports Balls stencil that’s part of this release. I used a very light hand while blending the base colors of the balls, trying to get a bit of gradient for some depth. For the second stencil I picked out some more saturated colors, but still tried to get the same gradient look. And to add even more detail and depth, I added some white gel pen lines and dots on the sides. I can’t believe I used to be scared of these layering stencils before, because the result they give is SO worth it!

I cut out my panel using the largest Stitched Torn Rectangle. I didn’t want to distract from the background too much, so I kept the rest of the card rather simple. I decided to go for the Football Shaker as a focal point, so I cut my pieces out of brown and white cardstock and assembled the shaker. I wanted to mimic the colors of my background for my shaker bits, so I used a mix of the newly released Construction Zone Shaker Beads and the older Celebration Shaker Beads together.

To top it off, I cut out a strip of black cardstock and embossed the ‘You’re a winner’ sentiment from Sports stamp set on it. I made the strip a bit longer than needed and scored the ends so I ended up with a 3D banner. It’s a small detail, but I love the way it layers over the shaker portion of the card. This card came together so easily!

I hope to see you next time for another blog post!

Utility Vehicles Across the Miles

Hello Everyone! It is Zsofi here today on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog showcasing the new Utility Vehicles stamp and coordinating die set. I am in love with all the “boy” sets this month, this design would work perfectly with any of the sets.

First I stamped and coloured all the images from the Utility Vehicles stamp set. I used Copic markers, but kept the colouring simple: 2-3 shades of each colour family. Then I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.

While I was die cutting, I also cut 3 roads from dark grey cardstock using the City Buildings die set. I adhered them to an A2 sized, top folding white notecard making sure the spacing is even between them.

Then I stamped the sentiments from the Utility Vehicles and Valentine Train stamp sets. For the latter, I simply masked off part of the sentiment which I didn’t need with some washi tape before inking it up. I like this technique for selective stamping, I just need to remember to remove the washi before stamping.

Finally, I popped up the vehicles and accessories using 3D foam squares.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen and some glossy accents to emphasize some details.

I hope you liked my card today and got inspired. This design is so versatile, it can be tailor-made to any occasion with any vehicles.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon,
Zsofi

How to Make Galaxy Backgrounds (3 Ways)

HI everyone! Rebecca here and I have three easy ways to make galaxy backgrounds today!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

For the first background, try Nuvo Shimmer Powder on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Simply tap the powder onto cardstock and sprtiz with water. Add some stars with the Spellbinders Splatter White by tapping it from a paint brush. This background is perfect for the Planet Shaker Dies filled with Starry Galaxy Confetti. Grab a sentiment and some stamped stars from the Outer Space Stamp Set.

For another simple to make galaxy background, start with a whole bunch of ink spots on white cardstock. Use some Black Soot Distress Oxide with water and add it with a large paint brush right on top of the colorful ink splotches. Spritz with a water bottle and place a dry towel on top to pick up some of the black revealing some of the swirling color underneath. Add some stamped, colored and die cut images from the Outer Space Stamp Set and Outer Space Coordinating Dies. The sentiment can be stamped and heat embossed in the center of the planets!

For a third way to create a galaxy background, try adding Distress Oxide inks over the Layered Shooting Stars Stencils on dark cardstock. The Distress Oxide inks will sit slightly above the paper rather than completely sinking in. Add the Rocket Ship Shaker Dies to create a rocket shaped shaker with Beach Day Shaker Beads inside. And finish it off by embellishing with some glow in the dark stars from the Starry Galaxy Confetti and a stamped and heat embossed sentiment from the Outer Space Stamp Set.

I hope you’ll try some of these easy techniques to create galaxy backgrounds for some of the fun space themed stamps, dies and embellishments from this month’s Pretty Pink Posh release!

Thanks for stopping by!
Rebecca :)

For the background of my card, I used the Layered Shooting Stars Stencil. I used Distress Oxide inks in the following colors: Ripe Persimmon, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon, and Squeezed Lemonade.

Using the Stitched Stars dies, I die cut three stars from white cardstock and added the Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade ink to the top. I added the Distress Oxide Mustard Seed ink to the edges of the stars to add some depth. I added the stars to the stenciled background and added the rocket ship on top.

Day 2: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

Day 2: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

If you missed Day 1 CLICK HERE

Welcome Pretty Pink Posh friends… Annette Allen here with you today and we are about to shake it up with the newly released Football Shaker and Layered Sports Balls stencils, so let’s get started.

Day 2: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

Create card from white cardstock A2 size. Cut a panel on kraft cardstock A2 size and adhere to the card.

Cut a white panel measuring 4 x 5 1/2 and stencil this cool new Layered Sports Balls with yellow, teal, orange, grey and brown inks. You can blend with traditional colors or go wild with  color. Add some foam tape to the back and adhere to your card base in the center.

Die cut all the new Football Shaker dies on white cardstock. Ink blend on the front football frame with brown and red ink. Use a light hand so it is not to dark in color. Die cut the football  shape die on a piece of acetate and adhere to the back of your football frame. I adhere mine using tear tape, it is cleaner then liquid glue.

Day 2: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

Turn your football to the back and adhere foam tape to the back of the acetate but only along  the frame of the football. We do not want to see any foam tape from the front. For the back of the football I ink blended the white cardstock using brown ink.

Add your fun shaker bits from the new Beach Day Shaker Beads, peel protectant on the foam  tape and close up that shaker with the ink blending solid football. Flip over and let’s add the decor on the football. I left them white. Adhere the stitching with tear tape, don’t put liquid glue  on the acetate it could smear and leave a residue.

Day 2: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

Add some foam tape to the back of your football shaker and adhere to your card at an angle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Sports stamp set on white cardstock using black ink and die cut  using the small strip from the Sentiment Strips dies. Add foam tape to the back and adhere to  the card.

PRIZES: be sure to leave comments on each stop. We are giving away 3 $30 gift certificates to three random comments (1 winner each day) left before June 17, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. I’ll be announcing the winners next week, so be sure to return and see if you are one of the winners.

Day 1: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

Day 1: June Blog Hop + Giveaway Post

The June 2024 Release is now available in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop and select retailers that carry our products. If you missed our post yesterday, we revealed all of the products in picture form, but if you would like to see them in a video, Mindy has that for you today!

Watch the video above  I  Watch the video in HD on YouTube

Hi everyone, June here and today I’m sharing a fun interactive card using the newest release with you all.

When I opened my DT package, I instantly gravitated towards the new interactive die set that was included, the Fancy Card dies. I always love interactive elements in a card, and especially ones that don’t require a ton of work. So when I realized just how easy it was to put together, I knew exactly what I was gonna use first!

I immediately imagined the slopes on the dies to be hills with a nice skyline in the background. Out of all the vehicle sets that are in this release, I chose the Construction Additions for my scene. I went a bit out of my comfort zone here and chose some bright flashy colors for the vehicles. No pastels and no pinks this time. I used a lot of the small images to fill my scene, mostly from the same set, but I also pulled in some from the Utility Vehicles set.

I cut out 2 of the Fancy Card panels so I could still have some space at the top for my skyline and sentiment. I used Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide to create a muddy ground on both of my interactive panels and my main card panel. I used a piece of cream colored cardstock as my sky to match the brown tones, and I splattered some more of the Vintage Photo Distress Oxide on it for some added interest.

I used the new City Buildings as my skyline. I cut both of the building dies out of white cardstock and used my Copic Markers to add some color to the backing panel. I placed it right above the hills onto my card base. Then I adhered both of my Fancy Card panels, creating an accordion-like shape.

Now the fun part: making the scene! I started out with the scene in the front, and used the remaining stamped images to fill up the empty space in my ‘second’ scene, when the first flap is opened. I made sure that the front flap covered the images when it was closed so it didn’t interfere with my first scene. There was a small gap in my second scene where a sentiment could fit, so I stamped one from the Construction Additions in that space.

I left the third scene empty on purpose so there was space to write a personal message to the recipient. To finish my card, I cut the For You Shadow out of brown cardstock and adhered it to the empty space I left just above the skyline. The descenders of the script fit so perfectly between the buildings, I always love it when things work out like that!

And that was my card! I hope you enjoyed reading about it, and I hope you enjoy looking at all the fun new products in this release!

Sneak Peek: June 2024 Dies

Good morning! It’s Lindsey here, and I’m giving you a sneak peek of some of the fantastic new dies releasing this month.  This month is heavily boy-themed and will hopefully help boost your stash in that area, but there is definitely something for everybody to love, so let’s get started.

New release will be available June 10th

First up is the new Football Shaker Die. I love the large size of this die and filled it full of Espresso and Sand Sequins. I knew right away that I would be making this card for my son, so I used his team colors as my inspiration.

With my focal point ready to go, I finished the card by adding detail to the card base with the Pierced Stars Plate, added some stripes, and then framed out the football with the largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle. I adorned the rectangle with some of the new Stitched Stars Dies and added a little embossed sentiment from the new Sports stamp set.

There are several shaker dies releasing this month, and I used two more on my next card. I had so much fun creating this galactic scene! I started by using some distress and pigment inks, shimmer sprays, and paint flecks on black cardstock to create a simple galaxy background.

Then I used the new Planet Shaker Die to create the large planet with the ring around it and the medium planet at the bottom of the card.  The smallest pink planet was cut with the circle from the older Winter Circles Dies.

I blended several inks and added shimmer sprays and a smidgen of glitter to my planets as well.

You also get a little peek of the Rocketship Shaker die on this card as it flies through space.

I love the sense of movement this adds to the card.  I thought it would be fun to have the sentiment from the previously released Love From Afar Dies trail after the rocket ship.

Thanks so much for joining me today! My cards just barely scratch the surface of the MANY new dies releasing this month.  There are space, stars, sports, construction, city, and even a fun new Fancy Card Die, so make sure you come back tomorrow for a look at all of the new products!

Sneak Peek: June 2024 Stencils

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and I am so excited to be sharing a sneak peek at two of the new stencils that will be released!

New release will be available June 10th

For my first card, we’re going into space with the Layered Shooting Stars Stencils – I used them with Interference Metallic Inks on black cardstock to create a shimmery, galaxy design. I also added some white paint splatter to add more of a space look. Using the Pierced Stars Die, I trimmed the stenciled background and adhered it to an A2 card base.

I stamped and colored images from the Outer Space Stamp Set and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I also cut different pieces from the Rocketship Shaker Dies and added my sentiment before adhering the rocketship and space images to the card base with a mixture of liquid glue and foam adhesive.

For the second card, we’re heading into a construction zone with the Layered Street Signs Stencils. I used masking tape to include lots of color detail with this stencil set using Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks to create the street signs in different colors. I added a little bit of black splatter and trimmed the panel to A2 in size and attached it to the card base.

To finish the card, I cut a black strip of cardstock with the Stitched Borders I Dies and embossed my sentiment in white before adhering to the center of the card. I stamped and colored images from the Construction Additions stamp set and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. I layered the images onto the card base with different foam adhesive thicknesses so they really pop off the card.

I hope you enjoyed this peek into some of the new stencils. I’m so excited for you to see the rest of the release!
