Summer Theme Week: Day 6

Hello everyone, it’s June here! I hope you’re all as excited about Summer Theme Week as we are. Today I’m sharing a card I made using an older summer stamp set that I’m still in love with, which is the Citrus stamp set. It’s a small set, but there’s so much you can do with it!

I often use both the lemon/lime and the orange together, but today I went with just the orange. I stamped a bunch of oranges and slices and colored them in using Copic Markers. I also stamped a sentiment from the Friend Greetings stamp set using dark green ink.

I played around with my die cuts to make a pattern around the sentiment. I thought it was a bit too empty with just the oranges, so I stamped some of the juice splashes from the set and a couple of the flowers from the Tea Time stamp set. Adding these into the pattern made it a bit more complete.

I decided to go for a mint green background with dark green splatters on it to bring in more of the green. As a finishing touch, I stamped a couple of leaves from the Citrus stamp set to arrange around the sentiment. I popped up the sentiment and flowers using foam tape.

I think this card is a great example of how even a small stamp set can carry an entire card design. While I did bring in some extra products, the design itself can easily be replicated using just the flowers and leaves from the Citrus stamp set itself if you want to keep it simple.

I hope this card inspired you to create your own fun pattern card. See you again soon for another blog post!
