Summer Theme Week: Day 5

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Christina, and I have a sunny tropical card design to share with you for Summer Theme Week here at PPP. For this inspiration project, I combined the beautiful Hibiscus Flowers stamp set with some of the new summer-themed goodies from the latest release. Grab your markers or whatever your favorite coloring medium is, and let’s get started!

I started by stamping the images from the Hibiscus Flowers stamp set with a black alcohol marker-friendly ink. I also stamped images from a few other sets: a shell from the Seashell Wreath set, a small flower from the Hummingbird Floral set, and the butterfly from the Easter Icons set. Then I colored them with Copic markers before die cutting them with the coordinating dies.

Next, I created the background by inking an A2 card panel and a Scallop Frame with two shades of yellow ink. Then I die cut the card panel with the Chevron Pierced Plate and attached the scallop frame.

To finish things up, I arranged the stamped images on the background panel and attached them with either glue or foam squares. Then I die cut the Good Vibes sentiment from a coordinating cardstock and attached it with foam squares. The final detail was to add a few clay confetti pieces from the Bright Rainbow Mix for embellishment.
Thanks so much for reading about my sunny tropical card design that I created for Summer Theme Week! Be sure to check the blog all week for more beautiful summertime creations from the team!
That yellow is a bold choice but it’s PERFECT with that vibrant red/green combo of foliage and flowers. GREAT JOB!
