Animal Theme Week: Day 7

Welcome to Animal Theme Week!! Hey friends! This is Mindy Eggen with you today to share these adorable toucans with you from the Tropical Toucans stamp set. 

To create my card, I stamped the images in an alcohol marker friendly ink and then colored with my copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut them out.

My toucans needed a tropical background so I used the leaf layer stencil from the Layered Leaves and Flowers stencil set. I used the colors Key Lime and Lucky Clover from Gina K Designs to color in my leaves using a blending brush. Then after removing the stencil I went over the background again so the background wasn’t so stark white. 

I trimmed the panel down to 3″ x 4 1/4″  and stamped a sentiment from the Just A Note stamp set. I masked off the sentiment and flicked on some Twisted Citron Distress Spritz. I added my branches with a tape runner and popped up the toucans with foam squares. 

To finish off the card, I added foam tape behind my blended panel and added to a side folding card base.
