You’re A Winner

Hello everyone! It’s June and today I’m sharing this cool sports-themed card using some of the newly released products.

I had so much fun using the layering stencil for my baby card last month, that I had to try it again for the Layered Sports Balls stencil that’s part of this release. I used a very light hand while blending the base colors of the balls, trying to get a bit of gradient for some depth. For the second stencil I picked out some more saturated colors, but still tried to get the same gradient look. And to add even more detail and depth, I added some white gel pen lines and dots on the sides. I can’t believe I used to be scared of these layering stencils before, because the result they give is SO worth it!

I cut out my panel using the largest Stitched Torn Rectangle. I didn’t want to distract from the background too much, so I kept the rest of the card rather simple. I decided to go for the Football Shaker as a focal point, so I cut my pieces out of brown and white cardstock and assembled the shaker. I wanted to mimic the colors of my background for my shaker bits, so I used a mix of the newly released Construction Zone Shaker Beads and the older Celebration Shaker Beads together.

To top it off, I cut out a strip of black cardstock and embossed the ‘You’re a winner’ sentiment from Sports stamp set on it. I made the strip a bit longer than needed and scored the ends so I ended up with a 3D banner. It’s a small detail, but I love the way it layers over the shaker portion of the card. This card came together so easily!

I hope to see you next time for another blog post!
