Spring Watering Can
Hello crafty friends, it’s June! Today I’m sharing a card I had so much fun creating! It features a lot of new products from the spring release, but the highlight really are the Stitched Spring Flowers for me.

I wanted to create a folk art inspired background with the new Eyelet Diamonds as the center. I cut a ton of flowers and leafs from the Stitched Spring Flowers from white cardstock so I could color them with ink later. No plans for my colors yet, I wanted to get the shape of my pattern down first before trying to balance out the colors.
Once I was happy with the layout, I varied between light and darker soft pink flowers and also colored my leafs and flower centers. I had some leftover flowers that I put to good use as well, but more on that later!

I cut a panel from tan cardstock and used the Watercolor Oval Mask to darken the edges of my card. It’s not very visible, but it creates a subtle oval shape to use as a base for my symmetrical floral design. I also splattered darker brown ink to give it kind of an earthy texture.
I cut a Watering Can Shaker from light grey cardstock and filled it with Bunny Hop Shaker Beads. Both shaker bead mixes in this release are so my style, it was hard to decide! And here’s where those leftover flowers come in! I added them on the watering can to give it a fun little detail.
For my sentiment, I picked one from the Easter Banner Greetings stamp set. I love how there’s a couple of sentiments that are generally spring themed and not just for Easter! I embossed it on the pierced banner from Banner Greetings 3, cut from pink cardstock. This new set includes 2 of my favorite new additions to the banner dies: the pierced and ‘half’ one that goes on the side of your card. I’ve been using these banners so much that it’s fun to see all these details getting changed from set to set, and this is probably my favorite set so far!
And that’s my card, I hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed making it! Hope to see you again next time, bye!
