Merry Christmas Train
Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I’m so happy to be back with this lovely Christmas card showcasing the Christmas Train from the September 2025 release. Except for the Valentine Train card I made back in January 2024, I like to use a slimline panel to feature as many wagons as possible, and for today’s card I knew since the beginning that I wanted to use the Merry Christmas Shadow dies, so I definitely needed a slimline design to feature this big sentiment right above my cute Christmas Train.

I started off by stamping the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink. I cut them all with the matching dies, and colored everything with my Ohuhu markers in a brown, red, pink and minty green color palette. As always, here is a detailed list of the stamp sets I used: • Christmas Train – locomotive, wagons, wreath, smoke, teddy bear, holly, candy canes, present, railroad, connecting pieces • Gingerbread Friends – sack, present • Holiday Icons – Santa.

When the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to the images using a white gel pen, and then worked on the background. I cut my panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock using the largest Slimline: Peekaboo Windows die, masked the stitched edges off with washi tape, and covered the whole panel with cracked pistachio oxide ink. Next I added snowflakes all over the panel using the Cascading Snowflakes stencil along with lucky clover oxide ink, and then added more details to my background. First I splattered water all over the panel and dried it with a paper towel, I mixed liquid stardust with water and added sparkling droplets to my panel, I did the same with copic opaque white ink for brightness and then the same again with lucky clover oxide ink for contrast. I removed the washi tape, and when my panel was dry, I attached it to an 8,5 x 3,5 inches dark minty green panel using 1mm foam tape, and then the whole thing to a matching card base.

I attached my images to my panel using 1mm and 2 foam squares, starting at the very bottom with two railroads to make one, and then the Christmas Train elements.
For my greeting, I used the Merry Christmas Shadow dies. I cut the word pieces out of red cardstock and the shadow pieces out of vellum, stuck each red word to its matching shadow using liquid glue, and then attached the entire greeting above the train using slim pieces of 1mm foam squares. As for the final details, I applied glossy accents to my red “Merry Christmas”, to the holly berries and to the lights in the Christmas tree, and then white blizzard nuvo drops to the lights on the locomotive and wagons.
And that’s it! I hope that you like this super cute and cheerful card. Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you next time!
