Autumn Mushroom Shaker

Autumn greetings, friends! Christina here to share with you a fun fall-themed shaker card showcasing some fabulous fungi products: the Mushroom Shaker, the Layered Mushroom Stencils, and the Fall Mushroom Clay Confetti. They all coordinate perfectly together and make designing and creating this shaker card a snap! Let’s get started!

My first step was to create the stenciled background. I used the Layered Mushrooms Stencils with Festive Berries Distress Ink and Buttercream ink. I skipped inking the spots on the mushrooms and used tiny round white diecuts instead. These were from random dies sitting on my desk. I just needed them to be small enough to fit the mushrooms. Then I added an ivory Scallop Frame and trimmed the stenciled panel to the same dimensions. Finally, I layered these onto some red patterned paper that has a very subtle tone-on-tone dot print.

My next step was to create the shaker. With low-tack tape, I taped the mushroom dies together and die-cut the frame eight times from plain red cardstock. I stacked them together and secured them with glue before sandwiching a piece of acetate between them and the final mushroom frame that I had die-cut from another tone-on-tone red patterned paper, this one with a woodgrain pattern. I filled the shaker and added the base piece die-cut from the same woodgrain patterned paper to the back. Finally I added an ivory stem to the mushroom, and the shaker was done!

To finish things up, I attached the mushroom shaker and added a sentiment and some clay embellishments. First, I used a stamping tool to curve a straight sentiment from the Sentiment Strips: Fall stamp set to fit along one of the Banner Greetings dies and heat-embossed it with cream embossing powder on light blue cardstock. I attached the banner across the stem of the mushroom and added a scattering of light blue clay confetti as the finishing touch.

Thank you for checking out this autumn shaker card featuring some of the fun fungi-themed products in the Pretty Pink Posh collection. See you again soon!
