Birthday Cake Shaker
Hi friends! It’s Zsofi here today and I am sharing a fun birthday cake shaker card with the new release. I love interactive cards, but I tend to be afraid making them. The new Cake Shaker die set makes it a breeze and no more thinking is needed what to fill it with, since we have the Shaker Beads!
First I die cut the Cake Shaker die 6 times: once from blue violet cardstock and 5 times from cream cardstock. As I did not cut apart the cake die and the window, I was sure that all the cakes will have the windows in the same place. (If I cut the dies apart, I usually use some washi tape to hold the dies together while I cut all my pieces). I used liquid glue to adhere the layers together. I placed a piece of acetate under the blue layer before mounting it on top of the cream layers.
Then I die cut the background using the new Pierced Stars Cover Plate and a light grey cardstock. I also cut a bunch of candles from cream cardstock and stacked 4 layers together for each candle to have some dimension. On the flames I used Copic markers.
I filled the cake with Berry Smoothie Shaker Beads and gently adhered the background to it. I love the sound of the beads shaking, it is mesmerizing for me!
For the sentiment I chose a line from the new Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set and slightly curved it to fit on a banner which I cut from pink cardstock with the Love From Afar die set. I used pink ink as I wanted to add some pink birds which I cut with the same die set. Aren’t they cute?
I wish you liked my card and got inspired to make some easy shaker cards. I cannot wait to make a bunch of this simply design with different colours to boost my birthday stash!
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon, Zsofi
Such a fun card 😍
