Valentine Theme Week- Day 1

Pretty Pink Posh: Valentine Theme Week- Day 1

Good morning! It’s Lindsey here, and I’m so happy to be participating in the Valentine’s Theme Week!  I have some simple valentine packaging ideas to share with you today. I like using paper or glassine bags for packaging because they work for baked goods, candy, or whatever little trinkets we may want to share. All odd sizes and colors are welcome since they are hidden inside. I made some at Christmas time and decided Valentine’s was the perfect occasion to whip up a couple more.

Be sure to stop by the Valentine section as all items there are 15% off this week!

On my first bag, I started by die cutting the top edge of the bag with the scalloped die in the Stacked Edges 3 dies.  I folded the top edge over the bag, cut a second scallop in black and adhered it to the bag’s scalloped edge.

Next I die cut the large scalloped heart from the Valentine Hearts Coordinating Dies in white and pink.  I ran the pink heart back through with a smaller heart from the same die set, so I was left with just a pink scallop frame.  I layered that on top of the white scalloped heart and stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” from the new Valentine Wreath Set in the center. I tucked a couple leaf sprigs from the Fall Foliage Dies (my favorite!) under the heart. The heart acts like a sticker and helps secure the bag closed, which is an added bonus.

On my second bag I cut two 2.25″x8.5″ strips of paper in pink and white.  I die cut the pink strip with the Slimline: Floral Cover Die and placed it on top of the solid white strip.  It is extra long, so it can fold over the top of the bag.

Next I layered a gold negative cut heart from the Heart Vines Die on top of the smaller heart in the All My Love Dies.  I think they layer so perfectly!  I added a sentiment from the Valentine Wreath Stamp Set, and finished it off by tucking a couple berry sprigs from the Fall Foliage Dies behind the layered heart.

This packaging is quick to put together and so fun to make. You could use the same idea to dress up an envelope that you’d be delivering in person. I hope you’ll give it a try!

Stop by tomorrow for another day of Valentine inspiration!
