Valentine Wreath + Video

Hello friends! It’s Mindy Eggen here with you today to share inspiration using the Scattered Hearts Stencil and Valentine Wreath stamp set. We are going full-on Valentine’s day for this one!

I have a video tutorial on the Pretty Pink Posh Youtube channel that you can check out down below or HERE on the channel.

I started by ink blending my background using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink on 80 lb white cardstock. I always go back over my colors numerous times to help smooth out the transition.

Then I added the Scattered Hearts stencil and ink blended on Wilted Violet towards the top and Picked Raspberry towards the bottom. This creates a nice contrast from the background.

Since the distress oxide inks are water reactive, I flicked water onto the background using a paint brush. This adds some subtle interest to the background. I also wanted to add some gold to my card so I added a couple drops of water to my starry watercolors and flicked that onto my background as well.

I stamped the wreath from Valentine Wreath stamp in copic friendly ink and colored with copic markers. Since the images are pretty small, I didn’t do any shading to my images. Then used the coordinating die to cut out the wreath.

One of my favorite tricks to white embossing on black cardstock is by using white pigment ink. I feel like I get better results. The sentiment I used today also comes from the Valentine Wreath stamp set.

I finished off my Valentine card by popping up both the wreath and sentiment using foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed today’s card.
