Tropical Hibiscus Flowers

Hello hello! It’s Leica here with a peek at the new Hibiscus Flowers stencil. What I love about this is that it coordinates with the previously released Hibiscus Flowers stamp set and coordinating dies

Pretty Pink Posh: Tropical Hibiscus Flowers

To start, I cut a slimline panel and lightly inked with Peacock Feathers distress oxide. Next, I cut a slightly smaller panel from the Slimline: Peekaboo Windows Dies and made my own patterned paper by using the Mini Polka Dots Stencil in Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide inks.

I then stamped the flowers and leaves from the Hibiscus Flowers stamp set with black ink onto a white cardstock. I used the Hibiscus Stencil as a guide to color the stamped images in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, and Twisted Citron distress oxide inks. I love how easy it is to add colors to the images by using the stencil. I cut them with the coordinating dies. Next, I stamped, colored, and cut the birds from Tropical Birds stamp set. I wanted them to camouflage with the flowers, so I colored them in similar colors. I used Copic Sketch Markers in RV21/23/25, YG11/13, Y000/00/02, and YR00/02/04.

Next, I adhered all the elements onto my slimline panel. The sentiments are from the Tropical Birds stamp set, and I white heat embossed them on strips of black cardstock. For the card base, I cut a cardstock down to 7″x8.5″, scored and folded at the 3.5″ mark. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto the card base and this completes the card.

I hope I have inspired you to use the Hibiscus Stencil. I can’t wait to see what you make with it. Make sure to tag PPP on Instagram and share your work on the Facebook Group.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
