Easter Theme Week- Day 7
Good morning! It’s Lindsey here today. Hasn’t it been a fabulous week full of Easter goodness? Theme weeks at Pretty Pink Posh always get me excited for the upcoming holidays, and I’m extra excited this week because I adore spring and I adore Easter. It’s a season of hope and brightness and things made new, and I wanted to capture that in my card.
Snow drops and daffodils are some of the first flowers to emerge in my yard each spring, and they inspired the colors on my card. This card has quite a few layers, so I’ll start with the card base. I took just the stem/leaves stencil from the Spring Flowers Stencils, flipped it sideways, and blended green ink. I love the fresh feel this adds to the card and how just a little turn of the stencil gives you a totally different look.
Next, I took the Spring Eggs Die and traced a repeated pattern on a piece of cardstock lightly in pencil. I used that as my guide to cut out all the eggs. Using the panel of negative images here is a subtle nod to the empty tomb, but by popping it up with foam tape, it also adds some great dimension to the card.
The next layer was created by embossing two of the images in the beautiful Floral Corners stamp set with white embossing powder on vellum. Then, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
The final layer was created by cutting the Fancy Easter Script Dies in bright yellow, gluing them onto a white panel and trimming around the entire sentiment. I popped that up on top of all the other layers, and voila! Card done. :)
I often snap a photo of my cards on top of all the supplies I’ve used to create them, so I can remember later on, and I thought it might be fun to share that. Looking at this photo makes me smile lots because I truly LOVE each and every product I used.
If you haven’t picked them up yet (or any other favorites you may have seen this week), I highly recommend you doing that today while everything in the Easter Section is 15% off.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
Such a beautiful Easter card! Thanks so much for sharing…
REally so very lovely, and fresh, Lindsey – you do have a way with your supplies that most don’t think of! LOve the eggs cut out of that panel – and OF COURSE the white embossing on vellum!
