Card Making Therapy Blog Hop

Hello, friends!

I am excited to be joining you for today’s blog hop. Not only because I actually got to stamp (after a year of only testing stamps!) but also because I get to share how crafting/ blogging has been a tremendous source of therapy for me in the past.

If you are hopping along, you should have come from Yana Smakula’s blog. Goodness, I don’t know how I got put after her since she will blow me out of the water, but that’s the beauty of crafting, we all have different styles, strengths and gifts, right? If you get lost along the way, head over to Amanda’s blog for the complete listing of designers joining in the hop, along with the great prizes and the story behind this blog hop!

For today’s card I am showing off the Reindeer Friends set, along with the Stitched Photo Frames die set and Scallop Frames die set. It’s been a while since I’ve stamped, but I always love using blue on cards, especially for winter/ Christmas cards. Add in some silver glitter cardstock with a dash of Sparkling Clear Sequins and your card has a super festive look!

How crafting/ blogging has helped me….

As many of you know, I was in a car accident that has changed my life. During that time, crafting and blogging became a source of therapy for me. It was therapeutic for me to have something I COULD do, something that made me feel like I had to get up for and something that I also enjoyed. It was during that time I began to visit new blogs, become friends with bloggers and also start blogging regularly again. Between crafting and sharing my story of the accident and different life lessons/ struggles I was battling, I found blogging to be a wonderful outlet for me. Granted, it is not for everyone; especially since there’s the chance of getting negative comments or mean things being said to/ about you. For me personally, this platform was what I needed to feel a connection to the outside world when I needed one, a way to feel “normal” and I have also made so many wonderful friendships from this crazy thing we call blogging.

No blog hop is complete without some prizes and Amanda has lined up some great ones! Be sure to leave a comment on each stop since she’ll be picking comments left on all the stops to win some of these great prizes below! Comments must be left on all the posts on this blog hop by 11:59pm EST on October 17th and will be announced on Amanda’s blog on October 19th.

  23. I really like the look of your cards for they have the touch of whimsy to them. Your color-combo is great. Thank you for sharing your journey through some tough times, helping others to help themselves with, perhaps, crafting of some kind. A ton of thanks.

  24. Hi Paulina! :)
Your card is so so cute!!! I love those cute little reindeer! Love the blue and silver together, very festive indeed! And you are absolutely correct with crafting being an outlet and source of therapy! I was not in any car accident like you but I do suffer and live in chronic pain myself… I battle various health conditions daily and it’s a struggle. I am not able to do anything anymore like I once could… so crafting is definitely my outlet and therapy too!!!! I am so glad you are open and have been with your story… it is what drew me to you in the beginning nearly four years ago… it is what I am able to relate to you on aside from crafting… and I am so happy that blog land has made our paths cross because you are a true sweetheart… you have a beautiful heart…. you are a huge source of strength and inspiration to me personally and probably many others too. Not to mention you are completely talented ;)
And while Yana is talented too, you shouldn’t sell yourself so short… because you are completely right up there with her…. both of your styles are unique but nonetheless, you both deliver projects that make others swoon over!
    Have a great weekend!

  25. Thank you for sharing your story. Mine is very similar. I started making cards during a time when I lost my ability to do my job and most all of the other things in life I thought were important to who I was. I found I felt productive when I produced even a very small project, and discovered an “artistic” side of me I did not know existed. And I get to “play” without completely depleting my energy! It’s nice to know I am not alone.

  26. cute card! I also can relate about the cardmaking/blog community being a “connection to the outside world”. such a gift!!

  27. These stamps and dies are so cute! Love how they look like Polaroids. TFS!

  28. This card is the cutest! I’m glad you could find therapy and healing with crafting!

  33. I had not been to your blog before, but what a nice style you have! this card is very nice too!

  34. Paulina, thank you for participating in this special hop. Your card is wonderful. I love your products and thank you for your generosity. I also use cardmaking as therapy to help me deal with severe health issues. It has turned my life around. Blessings!

  35. Your card is absolutely delightful and very sweet. Wonderful design. Thanks for sharing!!!

  36. Thanks for sharing your card; I love the color palette and I am on the way to find my Photo Frame die right after this! Glad to hear you are feeling better after your accident and thank you for continuing to blog. :-)

  37. I just loved Yana’s card too! You are so right, though; we each have our own thing and it’s ALL good :). I especially like the colors you chose for your card- so frosty! Thanks for sharing your story; it’s comforting to know our hurt is not alone in this world and helps us have empathy for each other!

  38. These little reindeer couldn’t be sweeter and I like how you put them in the smaller frame dies. Very pretty design.

  39. What a cute card! Those stamps are so sweet! Thank you for sharing with us!

  40. I like how you used the frame die to showcase your images. Nice colors choices as well. TFS!

  41. I always admired your strength Paulina, I am a huge fan of yours and Pretty Pink Posh. I totally agree that blogging and card making on its own is therapeutic. It keeps me sane also when I am going nuts because of the naughtiness of the kids, it cheers me up when the world around us is not that nice and makes me happy to be part of a very supportive and kind crafty community. All the best for you from Budapest! Zsofi

  42. Thank you for sharing as I went back and read your posts about your accident! I suffer from chronic migraines , anxiety snd depression. It’s difficult to find joy st times but crafting does help and it gets us outside ourselves as we give our creations away! Keep up the good fight. BTW, adorable card. Love clean and simple cards because they are doable for many of us out here in the crafting world!

  43. I love this card! I’m always drawn to the blue, silver combination! Thanks for sharing.

  44. Thanks Paulina for sharing with us too. There are such varying levels of how creating is therapeutic for each person. The crafting world has such supportive groups of people. We are all glad you and Amanda have shared your growth with us. Its reaffirming that we can overcome our problems with perseverance.

  45. Paulina you made me laugh! I totally get the comment of how did you get picked to go after Yana! I know right?! Hahaha!! Your card is soo adorable. I love that you are showing off the cute reindeer (and I really like the photo frame die). I think you did great job!

  46. These reindeer are too cute. Thanks for sharing your story and this cute card.

  47. What a lovely card ! And I totally agree with you and Amanda : crafting is a fantastic therapy. I’ve got health problems and except taking care of my two dogs and three cats, the only activity I can do is card making. And it is a great help to keep going….
This is a fabulous blog hop, congratulations to all of the talented ladies who created these incredible cards.

  48. Love your cards and those reindeer will make a child or a young at heart adult smile and that is a wonderful thing. Thanks

  49. I really understand your car accident story, as it happened to me too. Card making was my relief from the depression that followed. It’s lovely to be healed now, but I won’t ever forget that sad time. And those little guys make an adorable card.
    Thank you for sharing.

  50. This card is just too cute. I love the color choices, the design, just everything. Looking at this lifts my spirits a bit. I am 85 yrs old and am trying my hand at card making…especially water coloring. I’ve been suffering with depression due to primarily my granddaughter being killed in the line of duty. She was 26 yrs old and left a wonderful husband and 4 month old baby girl named Cora. TFS your God given talent with we crafters.

  51. Your card is so cute! I feel like the reindeer were taking selfies!

  52. I am happy to see one of your creations again, Paulina! It is wonderful that crafting and blogging have been a help to you in your healing process.

  53. I love your card – so cute and I love the blue-silver combination (with a splash of the traditional red-green)! Thanks for sharing your card and your story. I’m so glad you listened to your spontaneous side (not your practical side) and started your business!

  54. Cute card! I agree that crafting is therapy. I’m fortunate to not have had any serious ailments, but it certainly keeps me sane, which is its own benefit. I’m sure my students agree. LOL

  55. What an inspirational and uplifting blog hop this has been. Thank you for sharing your talent with a card, but especially sharing your story. I lived with chronic pain in the past, so I can appreciate what you are going through. What is inspiring, is hearing that you can power through it, without giving in to the uncertainty, I have learned in my own life, is that God never gives us more than we can bear. God Bless you, and thanks again for sharing.

  56. Your card is so cute and I love the blue and silver. I find card making very therapeutic as well, it helps to lower my blood pressure and of course I am in my own little world while I am creating.

  57. I absolutely love the reindeer friend stamp set! Wonderful use of layers and die cuts!

  58. Your reindeer are adorable. They look so cheerful and friendly! Thanks so much for sharing them.

  59. You can be sure that sharing your story is encouraging others going through difficulties.
Your card is Cute, Cute, Cute! Love the glittery frame.

  60. Such a adorable card thank you for sharing your story and your craft

  61. Speaking of diverse styles, I appreciate your use of patterned paper. It’s something I almost never think of. It’s a lovely card!

  62. Such a cute card, I think blogging esp. this card making paper crafting blogging could be very hard esp. if you do videos man I give all the bloggers credit for doing it and also very grateful they do!

  63. Your card is awesome Paulina, its quite adorable actually! Yes Yana’s is beautiful but so is yours. Like you said, we all have our own style. I have 4 sister’s who also are card makers and everyone of us have our own unique style. Which, I suppose, is exactly why we love the craft!
Thank you for sharing YOUR story, I remember reading your past posts on it and I admire you (and Amanda) for finding the strength to share your hearts, that is not an easy thing to do, esp. in this type of platform as some people ‘can’ be mean! Luckily, in this industry, people truly care about one another and are not afraid to share and lean on each other. Hugs to you both!

  64. Paulina, thank you for sharing your story. It is so very inspiring to many of us . Your card is beautiful:)

  65. Your card is super sweet!!! I can totally understand how crafting is therapeutic as it has helped me in the past. Sometimes though, depression makes you not want to do the hobbies you used to enjoy doing. I am struggling with this now that I wish I could craft but I just can’t seem to. I know it would probably make me feel better but I can’t bring myself to sit down and play. I’m getting help though, so maybe soon. I’m glad crafting worked for you to help with your issues. I wish you continued improvement!

  66. I Love your card and I really love those stitched frames, so adorable!! Thanks for sharing your story, I craft to help with 24/7 pain and it helps me forget a little sometimes. This has been a really great blog hop, Thanks again for sharing your story and your awesome card, I think I have to save your card to my copy file I really loved it.

  67. Paulina, your card is adorable. Love how you used the frames and made such a unique card.

  68. I’m so glad to see your card, which I never expected before. This card perfectly shows that you are a super talented cardmaker, and I feel honored to be working with you. Hugs.
    Marge

  69. Thank you very much for sharing! I think it is admirable when people share their lives, thank you again. I think your card is very pretty, a very different style but very lovely. I take drawing classes at kit and clowder and one of the things Alyce says is not yo compare our work with others, you’re very talented.

  70. Your card is so cute and love the blue and silver! I find cardmaking and other crafts a source to help relieve chronic pain.

  71. I love the colours you used for this card! So sweet and wintery. I’m glad to see you getting better. Crafters are a supportive group.

  72. Thank you for sharing, you are an inspiration to everyone. Beautiful card, love the blue too!

  73. Hi Paulina. It’s great to see your sweet card!
I love those picture frames-they highlight the
    little reindeer so well.

  75. Hi! Super sute and adorable card! I love the stamps. Thanks for sharing! Hugs from Salta – Argentina!

  76. Fantastic card, Paulina. I love it! I love the colors you chose and how cute the reindeer look with your coloring. Your designs are wonderful and I always look forward to your blog posts and your new product. The awesome thing about this hobby is the unique style each of us have and how we can learn from each other. Thank you for sharing your story. I found card making after being diagnosed with a chronic disease that has kept me from working. Card making gives me a purpose and allows me to accomplish something instead of feeling useless. You are so awesome! Your blog and designs are a definite favorite of mine.

  77. So glad crafting could help you! As Dory says, we all gotta remember to “just keep swimming!”

  78. Your card is too cute!
You know, I met a lot of crafter too, thanks my blog. Some of them are among my best friends even if I never see them.
Scrap or craft, in general, are a very good therapy and crafter are very generous people.
    See you
    Nunzia

  79. Love your cute cards and festive sparkle! Such a great hop and so inspiring.

  80. Adorable reminders!!!love it. Thanks for sharing your story. Getting inky takes me to a happy place!

  81. Adorable! I love the blue and silver too for winter or Christmas cards, your coloring of the reindeer is precious love the spots on them. I am glad I found your blog and wonderful company. Your sequins are awesome and now the stamps and dies are also wonderful.

  82. Oh my heavensweet! What an amazing card and blog hope. Thank you 😍

  83. Paulina,
I greatly admire you, for many reasons, not the least of which is for “putting yourself out there” via your blog! I am much to private a person to be able to do so.
I have always been into art. I have two pieces in the Smithsonian Institute. I loved (past tense) creating custom painted large furniture pieces (think armoires). But due to a significant & severe injury, that is no longer possible for me. Once I stumbled into the card making world I was hooked. It affords me a creative outlet that I desperately need, yet is something I can handle strength & “weight” wise!
And your cards are ALWAYS so adorably, beautifully cute! I truly enjoy your style (and my collection of your products is testimony of that!).
    Fondly,
    KS

  84. Paulina,
Love the little reindeer card. So sorry you were in the car accident, but am glad the card making community was there for you. Hope you are getting on well now. I do love making cards and scrap booking. Prayers for continued healing.

  85. Aww… Sweet card. I love blue and makes perfect sense to use it for winter/Christmas cards.
Thank you for continuing to share your story. It helps to know I’m not alone in this. Cardmaking is my saving grace and I hope to continue as physically possible.

  86. This is a darling card! Thanks for sharing your story, too – it is very motivating & inspiring!

  87. What an adorable card! And thanks for sharing your story. Card making became a lifeline for me about a year and a half ago, after my husband unexpectedly passed away. Nothing is better than creative expression for healing.

  88. Paulina, glad you had the opportunity to. create for this blog hop. Your story is very inspiring. Thanks also for creating such wonderful products that allow us to make beautiful creations.

  89. Thank you for sharing your story, and your beautiful card. I am so glad I started making cards, and blog hopping, because I would never have known all the stories of some very amazing women. Your card is so very cute.

  90. Paulina, I’ve missed your wonderful coloring and creations. Your trials and how you have been able to fight your way through them have been and inspiration. I look forward to your update and hope you continue to bring beautiful artwork to the card making community. Your card is stunning, hope you are able to do many more. Hugs and best wishes!

  91. I am so happy I have this stamp set! I love the reindeers they are so cute. Your card is amazing. The colors and design are simple, but yet you took it one step further. I love your store & all your products. Your story has been very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

  92. I appreciate your transparency and I’m so happy you are blogging and going strong. Your card is darling!

  93. Simply adorable – so glad you can use your talent to not only help yourself but bring joy to everyone.

  94. How cute, such a lovely card. The colours blue and silver are great for wintercards, I love that also.
Also thank you for your story and being a part of this great blog hop. I think that 70 % of the crafters group, including blogger/vloggers , do craft as therapy for themselfs. Sometimes to lett everything go or sometimes because they need to sit down and take a rest ( like me, I am a lungpatient.), The why is not important, important is that some one enjoys it and get’s a smile everyday!

  95. Your story always touches my heart! Look how far you have come with PPP – so impressing and inspiring! And great to see you crafting :-) Your card is totally cute!

  96. OMG this is adorable. I love the frames and love those portrait little dies too.

  97. A lovely card and an inspiring story. I hope you are able to show more of your cards. They teach me to trust my instincts and not
overload my cards to the point that I lose the main point of the design.. Thank you so much for your post.

  98. I love your card! The little deer are adorable. Thanks for another idea for how to use this great stamp set!

  99. This is such an adorable and beautiful card, Paulina! I always enjoy reading your posts and have been encouraged by your journey. I love those reindeer stamps! I finally just got mine today, so I can’t wait to play with them! 😊💗

  100. Adorable card, I love it so much!! I’m SO glad your ok after your accident and I’m so glad you found your therapy with card making. I couldn’t agree more with how amazing crafting can make you feel, it can really change your life. I have a 5 year old son who is non verbal with autism, I wouldn’t change him for anything in this world. He is my angel. However, it is very stressful between therapies and doctor appointments. For me card making has been my lifesaver! It truly is my therapy!!! It is my me time 😀 It is the best feeling in the world. I’m so happy this blog hop was created and I want to thank all of the talented artists who are participating.

  101. Loved this card. Refreshing change from red and green. Thanks for sharing both the card and you story.

  102. Love this card! You used so many different elements that give it such a different textured look everywhere you turn.

  103. This is just so adorable!! I love the blue & silver together!! Thanks for sharing your story, and I’m so glad it’s helping you through your troubles! I love making cards & think everyone should have some sort of hobby that makes them happy when times are not so happy for them!!

  104. I LOVE your card!! I have been coloring these reindeer and presents….they are so much fun. Pretty Pink Posh has got me coloring smaller images, something in my head I said I would never do, but yours are SO BEAUTIFUL, I just have to. I also use Creating as therapy, in fact I don’t know what I would do without it. I had surgery for breast cancer August 31st and it has helped me with my recovery. I never imagined how much I used chest muscles for stamping, die cutting, ink blending….etc. Oh and your dies, 😍 are amazing, it is rare that I make a card without something Pretty Pink Posh. So sorry for the long rambly post….just wanted to let you know😊. Thank You!!

  105. I always admire how you put the elements of your cards together. I cannot get over how much that silver scalloped frame looks like real lace in the photo.

  106. Love your adorable card Paulina. I’ve missed your posts and am so happy you were able to craft again. I have always enjoyed your blog, videos and the great inspiration you provide. Hope you continue to feel better!

  107. Sweet card and touching story. I pray all things are well for you now.

  108. These reindeer are so cute, especially the one carrying the presents. The blue and silver is great here.
Thanks for sharing your story too. To some of my friends, I may be cutting and gluing paper but to me it’s something that keeps me sane and opens my life to more friends who share my love of paper crafting.

  109. Great to see all you crafters out there supporting Amanda and for sharing your story with us. Beautiful card!

  110. Paulina – I adore the color scheme you used, so perfect for winter and the little deer are too precious for words!! I’m glad to see you stamping again and I love your blog – it is so down to earth and relatable. Thank you for being real and caring.

  111. Your card is so cute and happy! Card making for me has become something that helps me feel happy and content when things are not going so well. Thank you for all your inspiration!

  112. Such a sweet card and stamp set! Thanks for sharing your story Paulina – it inspires us greatly. I truly believe cardmaking is good for the soul – it brings so many rewards. Thank you :)

  113. Paulina, I’m happy to hear that things are getting better. It is amazing that people we don’t actually meet can be so comforting. I had a serious health issue, in the last year, and following YouTube and card sites on FB actually helped. All is well now, thank God, but card making is now in my blood. Love the new items.

  114. Thanks for sharing this cute little card and for sharing your story! The card making community is global and so caring! I love that feeling of being connected to the whole world!

  115. Adorable little reindeer cards and another story of the healing of art and distraction.! So true for so many and it could help so many more…

  116. Adorable card, thank you for sharing! Thank you for sharing your story as well! I’ve followed you for about a year or so and ever since I heard your story, you have been on my prayer list:)

  117. Your stamping is therapy for all of us too. These reindeer are so darling. I can’t believe we are already doing Christmas. Boy time sure flies. Keep up the great work and keep getting stronger. You are an inspiration!!

  118. So Cute!!!!
    That stamp set just adorable!!!
I too was in a car accident..10 years ago. I can’t work anymore due to my injuries not sure what u would do without crafting..its an amazing form of therapy!!

  119. Very cute card and a great idea to support crafting as therapy.

  120. Card making was great therapy for me after an injury/surgery, and my crafting pals were my biggest support during my recovery.

  121. Adorable card!Love the deer! So glad that stamping and creating cards has been such a help to so many…. I find it to be a great stress reducer!

  122. This is an adorable card! The reindeer are so cute. It’s great that crafting helped with your healing.

  123. It’s been a long and “challenging” journey filled with many ups and downs worse that a roller coaster ride however, with the help of a Great Medical team, Support system, Arts & Crafts the “wild” and “challenging” roller coaster ride IS now manageable!! I to was in a n auto accident which flipped my life upside down! I was hit by a ONE TON Trust driven by an individual who was DUI. Had to give up many things I enjoyed however, I have found other Joyful, wonderful, Great things to take the place of what I had to give up. It’s a long journey however, it DOES get better with time,, a good support team, a good medical team. HOPE IS ALIVE! <3

  124. Awesome card, these reindeer are so adorable and your color palette is perfect to showcase their cuteness! Thanks for sharing your story, it’s wonderful that we can connect with others and help just by being honest!

  125. Love the little reindeer in their windows. The silver
    framing is wonderful.
I was in a serious car accident 31 years ago (next week).
Because my right leg bore the brunt of the injuries
I’ve dealt with a lot of pain and the inability to
do a lot of the things that I want to do. Crafting
has helped – it’s given me a creative outlet
that doesn’t require a lot of physical activity.
I hope you continue to fight for your crafting life.
    take care
    thanks for sharing.

  126. darling cards, Paulina – thanks for supporting Amanda – I, too, know the therapeutic results of cardmaking!

  127. Such a sweet card! I like that this one followed up Yana’s. Her card is a bit intimidating – your card is more to my skills. Love all the layers, particularly the sparkly frame. So cute!

  128. I instantly loved your card. The simplicity of the colors and what a cute design…it’s fabulous!!!!
Crafting is therapy. I needed a ‘quiet’ hobby while my husband was going through chemo-therapy, so card making became my quiet-therapy!

  129. Adorable little card! Love those reindeer! Thanks for sharing your story with us! This community of card makers is truly a family of love, kindness, giving and comfort to so many! I love being a part of it! Sharing smiles across the miles when times present so many struggles for so many!

  130. Paulina, your card is adorable!!! And you know it’s really amazing how different people create such versatile stuff out of the same products ;)

  131. Such adorable reindeer and I love the layout you created with the photo frames! Thank you for sharing your story, so many of us have found crafting to be the the thing that brings a wonderful theraputic outlet, and more.

  132. I love your card! I love Pretty Pink Posh stamps. They are just so cute.

  133. I love these little reindeer! And the way you framed them is perfect!

    a chance to stamp again.
    This card is adorable
    and love the touch
