Rainbow Umbrellas

Hello Pretty Pink Posh fans……so excited to bring you a post here on the Pretty Pink Posh blog today!

I may also *wink* have a post over on the  Simon Says Stamp Blog as well!  You will have to go check it out too!

I thought I would change gears from holiday creating to one for any occasion.  I’m not sure about you but I don’t know one person that doesn’t like bright colors of the rainbow.  Here I’ve used the Rainy Days stamps and coordinating dies for a card that would cheer anyone up!  I began by white heat embossing the raindrops from the set randomly over a panel of watercolor paper.  Then with the technique of emboss resist, I watercolored with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.  The embossing just resists the inks……love!  At the bottom, I’ve stamped my sentiment in Onyx Black Versafine ink.  See my tip below on how I added stitching to this panel!

I had fun stamping my umbrellas in various bright pigment ink colors.  I choose these for their vibrancy and coverage.  After assembling, I began laying out my card and adhering.  As a last accent, I’ve added my favorite 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Tip:  Ever want stitching on a panel you’ve trimmed down to size?  On my watercolor panel, I trimmed it down and then added stitching to the edges using the straight stitching die from Stitched Borders 2.  Use the straight “cutting” edge of the die as a guide to line it up on the edge of your paper and use Post It tape.  By doing this, it gives you perfectly straight “stitched” edges every time!
