10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash

CD_23

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since the first 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. I honestly have gotten so much joy seeing all of the amazing entries from around the world, working with amazing sponsors and designers, developing friendships with the design team and also continuing to be stretched in my quick crafting skills.

I wanted to celebrate this momentous occasion in a BIG way, so I enlisted the help of sponsors and just a few of my incredibly talented friends, crafting peers and of course, the 10 Minute Craft Dash DT.

I have been hinting at the HUGE grand prize for a while now and I’m glad I can finally share what it is. One lucky person is going to win everything in this picture below- yes, including a $50 gift certificate! These products were graciously donated by the following companies: Ellen Hutson, Neat & Tangled, DeNami Design, May Arts, Precious Remembrance and Soapbox Creations. Imagine all the hours of creativity that could happen if you won this!

Remember how I said I wanted this birthday to be a big celebration? Part of that will be in the form of a 10 Minute Craft Dash Blog Hop featuring my special guests and the DT. There are a total of 28 stops (including this one) and I know you all are in for lots of treats with the talent packed into the list. Before we get to that though, I want to mention that there are TEN blog hop prizes up for grabs (sponsored by StampNation, Ellen Hutson, DeNami Design and Jennifer McGuire for Online Card Classes)- I’ll be randomly picking comments from the various stops at the close of the challenge on August 17, 2013.

birthdaybash_bloghopHere is the master list of the blog hop stops. If you happen to get lost along the way, or there’s a missing link, you can refer to this list. Grab yourself your beverage of choice and be inspired by the crafty creations and videos. Also, remember, these items were created within 10 minutes!

Okay, now let’s move onto my card and video for today’s post. I have been absolutely in love with mint recently and will find any excuse to add it to my projects. Today I paired it with several DeNami Design stamps, some patterned paper and a little bit of twine.

May 2013 Craft Haul

Good morning, sweet friends!

As you’re reading this, I’m currently at the airport en route on my first mini vacation in years. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to still go, due to my health problems, but I went ahead and still kept my plans. My best friend, her sister and I are headed to San Francisco, where we’ll meet up with my sister, who recently moved there. I’m so excited to finally see this city I’ve heard about! I plan on taking pictures and uploading on Instagram along the way, so follow me if you’d like a peek into my trip.

In my effort to change things up a bit, I put together a craft haul post. You can see what I purchased in the video and then all of the links are located below.

Have you purchased anything recently? Big or small hauls, I would love to read or see what you got. It’s always so fun when my friends post what they got on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Seeing what caught their eye and then later see how they used the products makes my heart happy. Also, sometimes seeing what another person purchases sometimes prompts purchases from friends! :)

That’s going to wrap up this post today. I brought my laptop with me, so hopefully I can sneak in a post or two while I’m here. No promises though!

Time Spent With Friends + VIDEO

Have I mentioned how much I love the 10 Minute Craft Dash #17 colors? These colors make my swoon. My craft room has many aqua elements in it and if I end up finding some perfect coral pieces, I would add them in a heartbeat. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like many decor designers have perfected this perfect color. If you’ve found some items that you think would qualify as coral, I’d love to see pictures or links!

Today I have a card showcasing some of my favorite WPlus9 stamps and the colors for the challenge. How awesome is this sentiment? I’ve never used it before this card, but I know that I’ll definitely be pulling it out for more cards soon.

I filmed a video on my mad dash to create this card. Oh boy, this one was a close one- I almost didn’t think I was going to finish in time! Thank goodness for embellishments that already have adhesive on them!

If you haven’t already, I hope that you’ll join in the fun for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #17. There have been so many beautiful entries thus far- I hope you’ll add yours to the list!

Sequin Butterfly + Surprises

I have a little surprise for you all…..I filmed a new 10 Minute Craft Dash video this week! Two videos posted within a week is definitely not something that happens often here. With the pretty color palette and my infatuation with sequins lately, I was inspired to show you how I combined them onto a sweet and simple card. In case you missed the colors for this week, here is the graphic again. CD_15_long

You may have seen me do this technique on a card before {post here}. I wanted to show you how EASY it is to do this and also be a little ambitious and see if I could pull if off for a Craft Dash challenge. Do you think I was able to pull it off? You’ll have to watch the video to see!

It’s been quite a while since I had a crafty session with friends- I’m talking like over a year- so I thought it was time to fix this. A quick text to Ginny {the person who started the Craft Dash challenges with me} and we arranged to have a day of crafting  on Saturday. After a tweet, some texts and a little coxing, I got my bestie to join us as well. There were laughs, food, craft supplies scattered about and music going for ten hours straight. Here’s a glimpse into my craft studio and a little peek into our night….

I have one last surprise for you… I filmed Ginny creating for the current 10 Minute Craft Dash! She’s such a pro at crafting quickly- I think you guys will be impressed. {I apologize in advance- I didn’t realized I laughed so much in the video!}

Thanks for stopping in and always being so encouraging. I’ll be back tomorrow with a guest designer post- hope to see you then!

Blissful Botanical Thanks + Video

Today I not only have a card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #14 {sponsored by Lawn Fawn}, I also have a video showing how I created it! I don’t post a video for each challenge for a few different reasons…one of the main ones, I’m a perfectionist and I truly dislike how these videos show me scrambling about. I have no problem crafting with a timer when the camera isn’t rolling, but when it is, it’s like I freeze up!

I won’t go into detail of how I created this card, since it’s shown in the video. *wink* If you don’t already, I hope that you’ll subscribe to the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel. As I’m getting the hang of the lighting, working on camera and showcasing techniques, I’m hoping to post videos more regularly.

Do you spy that scrumptious ribbon? I bought a WHOLE bunch of it from one of my blog sponsors, Little Free Radical, in eight different colors. Crystal is such a sweetheart, has an amazingly fast turnaround time and her products are lovely! {Yes, I’m totally encouraging you to check out her site!}

CD_14_2b

Okay, now onto the craziness video…. As I was re-watching this video, I noticed there are a lot of awkward silence pauses. Eeek! This is what a video looks like raw and uncut.

That’s going to wrap up this post, sweet blog friends. I will be back tomorrow with a nautical inspired card and some cupcakes! Hope to see you then!

Birthday Train + New Video

March is jam packed full of birthdays for my relatives. Let’s see…there’s my brother, my aunt, my grandma, my sister and my brother-in-law {who coincidentally are married and have the same birthday!}. Needless to say, I’ve been busy creating all sorts of birthday cards.

Today’s card was created for my sister and brother-in-law. I know, it’s horrible that I combined their card! This card took twice as long as I had planned for it to and well, I’m thinking what’s INSIDE the card will help them forget I only made them one. *wink* With my new obsession of sequins, I just had to add a few of them to this card. birthdaytrain1a

I received some questions on how I’m adhering my sequins to my projects. After going through my stash, I decided to give my Crystal Lacquer a whirl and it works PERFECTLY! Since it comes with a teeny tip, it’s perfect for these little sequins.

birthdaytrain1b

You may have noticed that I used some alphabet stamps on today’s card. I have loved this set from the moment I saw it and I was so thrilled when Lawn Fawn released dies to coordinate with them. I was so giddy to open mine up, I just had to film a short little video on how the dies work with the set and how I plan on using them.

I’m curious if any of you have alphabet dies and if so, which ones are your favorite? Also, how do you store them? As I mentioned in the video, I’m still looking for a good {and inexpensive} way to store mine. Can’t wait to hear your suggestions!

Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with the 10 Minute Craft Dash #13 Highlights and info on how to get an early peek at the upcoming challenge. Hope to see you then!
