Valentine Theme Week- Day 5

valentinethemeweek

Hello! I’m delighted to be sharing my first feature post with all of you! Each month I’ll have a project showcasing sequins, confetti or seed beads in a unique way on something other than a card. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching my mind was on hearts! I’ve created a small garland perfect for a mantle, shelf or door.

garland

To begin, die cut three felt hearts. (This shape can easily be switched out for other holidays or everyday use). One of the hearts will become a shaker so you will need to cut an opening in that shape.

Next you’ll need three paper backing heart shapes. One of these will back your shaker. I chose a pretty floral paper for this purpose. The other two will not be seen. Plain cardstock, poster board or chipboard will work just fine.

Adhere this paper backing to the reverse side of each cream felt heart for added stability.

The shaker will be filled with Confetti so the form for it doesn’t need to be very thick. I used two cardstock spacers. If using Sequins or Seed Beads, you’ll need to use foam tape or fun foam. Remember to die cut one acetate heart as well for your shaker window..

Die cut and stamp several items (mini tags, flowers, leafy sprigs, bows) to decorate the other two felt hearts.

Glue clusters of die cut items onto each of the plain hearts. Add confetti as accents. Fill your shaker with Iridescent Mini Heart Confetti (coming soon!) and Red Heart Confetti.

The possibilities for this little garland are endless! I made mine to match my great grandmothers plates. Aren’t they pretty!!

Valentine Theme Week- Day 4

valentinethemeweek

Hello friends!

Nichol here and today I’m sharing a Valentine themed card (that could actually be used anytime) showcasing Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies. I used the adorable PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp with my favorite Scallop Squares Dies to “frame up” the super cute pink chick!

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote1

To create my card I die cut a piece of watercolor cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Stackable Die. I love this die because it’s exactly the same size as the Scallop Square Die so it makes the perfect backing if you’re building up frames with dimension. I stamped the chick and envelope from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Antique Linen Distress Ink and then I watercolored the images using the following Distress Markers and a paintbrush dipped in water:

[ DISTRESS MARKERS COLORS: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon ]

PPP_ValentineWeekJustANote2

Once the images were watercolored, I drew in the eyes with a black marker. I added “sky” with the Tumbled Glass Distress Marker and Peacock Feathers Distress Marker. I added a bit of shadow or ground with the Pumice Stone Distress Marker. When the panel was completely dry (I hit it with a heat tool to dry it quickly) I stamped the greeting from the PPP Just A Note Mini Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink and then I stamped a scattering of hearts using Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Candied Apple Distress Inks.

I die cut frames from smooth white cardstock usign the PPP Scallop Squares Dies and Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Squares Stackables Dies. I die cut these again from Fun Foam and layered the frames on the watercolored panel to give the image the look of being “framed up”. Lastly, I attached the frame to a square 4.25″ card.border

Valentine Theme Week- Day 3

valentinethemeweek

Hello, friends!

Today we have Liz joining us for a post full of Valentine inspiration. She always creates the most darling cards and lately, she has been a storm of Valentine goodness to share with you all.

I can’t get enough of these new Scallop Square Frames, so I kept the dies together and ran it through the die cutting machine using 2 different colors along with a silver glitter card stock. It’s a great way to interchange different color combinations and fits like a perfect puzzle.

Next, I cut an acetate square size (3 7/8″) to use as my base to adhere the frames together and proceeded to create a shaker using these wonderful 6mm Flat Sweetheart sequin mix and new Mini Star Confetti sequins in Silver and Iridescent color. Afterwards, I pulled out this cute adorable little bunny from the Holiday Pals set along with the tiny bow.

Since I’m in love with these stitched scallops as well from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, I couldn’t resist but to add it to this card. Last but not least, I used this cute little Stitched Speech Bubble to add a sentiment saying “You’re the best”.

I must admit this is one of my favorite sets: Darling Friends with this big balloon and adorable little bunny so I decided to make another shaker card using the Storybook 1 die and create a scene on the outside vs. on the inside. Also, if you notice that little tiny red heart on the basket, it’s from the Mini Tags die collection.

Here, I mixed in this fabulous 4mm Sweetheart mix along with some new little Mini Heart sequins in Silver and Iridescent. I can’t tell you how much I love these and thinking of all the ways to use, especially love their size and sparkles. Also, if your wondering where those tiny envelopes with the little red heart are from, it’s from the new Birdie Notes stamp set and boy let me tell you….it’s so darn cute.

This brings me to my last card where I used the new Birdie Notes stamp set (the free gift in the recent birthday celebration) to create this Valentine card filled with hearts. Isn’t this birdie adorable? The sentiment is also from the same set and can be used all year round and the little tiny bow that I colored in red comes from the Holiday Pals set again.

As you can tell, l used this cute little scallop again from the Stitched Borders 1 collection, but before that, I’ll share with you on how I created this little mini shaker where I used the Stitched Photo Frames. This one is the biggest size out of the three you get in the collection measuring approximately 2 1/4 ” wide by 2 3/4″ tall.

After I die cut the frame, I embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder and added a piece of acetate. Next, I added some fun foam to create the height needed for the shaker. Than comes the fun part which is adding in these wonderful 4mm sparkling clear sequins in the center.

Once I pieced it all together, I added on top of the acetate, these cute new little Mini Hearts in Gold along with the tiny envelopes.  Last but not least, I added this adorable birdie that was colored in pink using foam mount tape to add some more dimension.

Valentine Theme Week- Day 2

valentinethemeweek

Good morning Pretty Pink Posh friends!

Heather here from Houses Built of Cards. I’m delighted to be sharing a sweet Valentine card with you today using the adorable new Mini Heart sequins that are releasing on February 1st! Eeeek! They are SOOO adorable! PERFECT for shaker cards too – so that is what I made!

 Cards-1-22-16-017

I used one of the umbrella’s from the Pretty Pink Posh Rainy Day’s Stamp set with a giraffe from Wplus9’s Party Animal stamp set – adding the little bird on the giraffe’s back, and fussy cutting them out together. My sentiment is from Mama Elephant’s True Friend stamp set – and those little hearts around the sentiment are from the adorable free stamp set from the PPP birthday celebration.

Cards-1-22-16-020

I used the Scallop Frames die set to create the frame for my shaker card, and added some pattern paper from Basic Grey for the background – then filled it with those Mini Stars in Gold. I love how tiny these are and how easy they shake – the move so freely inside the shaker!

I hope that you’ve been enjoying theme week so far. We still have three more days of great posts- we’ll see you tomorrow!

Valentine Week: Sequin Jar

Hello, sweet readers!

It’s the last day of Valentine Week here on the blog and I must say it was both fun and exhausting. I absolutely love doing posts, but doing them back-to-back in the midst of a crazy time of year at work wasn’t my smartest idea. I’m proud that I stuck it out though and I’m *almost* finished with all my major deadlines for both work and design wise. The next thing on the list? Finishing up my shopping cart, restocking my inventory and then lots and lots of crafting. I’ll confess, I’m especially excited for the last item.

I know that this card may look familiar to some- I did a similar one HERE. That particular card was pinned more times than I can count on Pinterest and I thought I’d bring you a fresh take on it with Valentine colors and PPP products.

Valentine Week I Pretty Pink Posh #5

For quite a while now, I’ve been sharing my love of the yummy chevron twill ribbons here on the blog. Honestly, it’s a ribbon that works well with so many projects AND it’s incredibly easy to tie bows with it. My only complaint? There aren’t enough colors of it! I’m crossing  my fingers that more colors will be released in the future.

This week I’ve filmed multiple orders with these ribbons in it- you have no idea how happy that makes me! I hope that each of you love it as much as I do. For those who noticed that a couple of colors are sold out: fear not, they’re expected to arrive on Monday!

Click here to purchase some chevron twill ribbon!

Valentine Week I Pretty Pink Posh #5

I must say, it was so fun to see all of the different answers of what caught your eye in the shop. The most popular answer was the Valentine Kit (yay!), but I also got all sorts of other answers. I’m so happy that I’ve been able to expand the products in the shop- it looks/ sounds like the items I have added are ones you all like!

Okay, now onto the giveaway winner…winnerLindsey, please email me with your shipping information and I’ll send off a prize pack full of products!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed the Valentine theme week. I’ll definitely be posting more Valentine cards and projects in the upcoming weeks and I’m hoping to also film at least one Valentine video. Stay tuned for that!

I’ll be back tomorrow with the winner of the 10 Minute Craft Dash #32. Have a great rest of your Friday!

Valentine Week: Love Shaker

It was bound to happen….a shaker card for Valentine Week. If you watched the new products video (HERE), you’ll recognize this card. For this shaker, I changed things up a bit and added some of the Red Confetti Hearts in with the Sweetheart Sequins Mix. I love how these add a bit of shine, but it also adds a little more visual interest. Plus, who can resist some red hearts?

Recently I’ve been getting quite a few emails regarding what kind of acetate I use for my shaker cards. In a video coming soon, I’ll share exactly what I’ve been using…you’ll be surprised at what it is and how inexpensive it is, too!

prettypinkposh_valentine5a

Did you happen to notice this ribbon? I’m happy to say it’s one that can be found in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop! I fell in love with this beautiful tinsel ribbon and it makes your Valentine cards and projects that much more festive. Plus, with the extra width, you can use it for gift wrapping as well!

Well, friends, there’s just one more day to enter the giveaway I’m hosting. If you have already entered, be sure to tell your friends about it. Who knows, they just might share some of their winnings! *wink*

Valentine Week: Hugs & Kisses

As I was looking at this card photo, I realized that this card truly highlights all of the products in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop right now. Sequins, ribbon, confetti, twine, pom pom trim…this card pretty much sums up my shop (and my studio) at the moment.

I wanted to shake things up a bit and bring you some brighter colors for today’s Valentine card. I have to confess that after I created this card, I made several more cards in this color palette. Be warned: you will definitely be seeing more of these colors in the near future.

Valentine Week I Pretty Pink Posh #3

I recently purchased this fun tag die set from Reverse Confetti and have been having all sorts of fun with it. I love how it works as a tag, but it also looks great on cards. There are so many different die cuts out there, but they add up really quickly. Being a girl on a budget, I typically go for ones that are versatile (like this one). I was eying this one for a few weeks and finally caved….I’m so happy I did!

Do you spy the white pom pom trim again? I’m tell you, I just can’t get enough of it! I love how it adds just a little bit of texture and dimension, but there’s hardly any extra bulk to it. See THIS VIDEO for a closer peek at just how flat it lays.

Valentine Week I Pretty Pink Posh #3

I hope you enjoyed this unique take on a Valentine card. If you’re interested in any of the embellishments on this card, be sure to head on over to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop!

In closing, just a little reminder about the giveaway I still have going on. Hurry over and leave your comment- the winner will be announced on Friday!

Valentine Week: Love Fawn

It’s day 2 of the Valentine theme week here on the blog and I’m sharing my new favorite stamp. Granted, he’s not available quite yet…..you’ll have to wait until Friday to get him at DeNami Design! I’ve been able to play with him a few times these last few weeks and he’s a “must have” in my book. I love the versatility that this little fawn brings and really, have you seen a sweeter image?

A few months back (see THIS POST), I pulled out my doilies and started incorporating them onto my cards again. If you’re new to my blog, I go through phases of certain supplies and these doilies are one of them. For a while, I used them on just about every card and then I took a mini break. With Valentine’s around the corner, I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them around the blog a little bit more. *wink*

prettypinkposh_valentine3a

Ever since I added the pom pom trims to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop, I can’t seem to stop using them! My favorite is the white- it seems to go with everything! For those who love it just as much as I do, you’ll be excited to hear that I’ll also be adding a couple more colors. They’ll be in next week….stay tuned for that!

prettypinkposh_valentine3b

Tomorrow I’ll be bringing a Valentine card that has a bit more color, but I think you’ll love it. In closing, I wanted to ask a question: have YOU started on your Valentine cards yet?

Valentine Week: Love You Forever

You all know how to make a girl extra happy the first week in a new year. I’ve been busy working on orders this weekend and it’s been so fun to see the response of the new products! In fact, I sold out of several items- woohoo!

It’s been AGES since I had a theme week here on the blog, but I thought it would be fun to do one this week. Granted, a couple of the cards you saw glimpses of in a video recently, but I’ll showcase photos of them, along with the supply lists. Ready for some Valentine goodness?

A few years back, I never would have paired pinks and reds together, but now I absolutely love this combo. I’m a girly girl, so these colors always make my heart happy. Add in some some of the Sweetheart Sequins Mix and the Red Tinsel Ribbon and we now have a card that will be hard to part with.

Pretty Pink Posh I Valentine Week #1

It’s not a secret that I’m a huge fan of dies and this card proves this fact. I paired THREE different brands of dies on this card: the Stitched Journaling Card die, the Femme Frames dies and the Embellished Tag die. Each of these individually are great dies, but when you add them altogether…. I have definitely found my new favorite trio of dies.

Pretty Pink Posh I Valentine Week #1

Did you see the posts on Friday? I announced the very first Pretty Pink Posh design team and I’m still in awe that I get to work with these gals. We have some fun things in the works and soon I’ll get to share one of them with you. The other post revealed a video showcasing some of the new products, along with a giveaway. There’s still time to enter, so be sure to head over and leave you comment there!

Well, sweet readers, that’s going to wrap up the first day of Valentine Week. Let’s make a date for tomorrow? *wink*
