Valentine’s Day Shaker + Giveaway

Happy Valentine’s Day, sweet readers.

I don’t know about you, but I love this holiday. Granted, I’m single and don’t have a hot date planned this year, but I love the idea of spreading love to your friends, family and loved ones. Plus, it’s hard for me to resist all the pretty reds and pinks surround the holiday!

Today I’m joining my friends at Virginia’s View Challenge for the shaker card theme is happening right now. Since I’m a big fan of shaker cards and the Pretty Pink Posh sequins and confetti are perfect for these types of cards, I’m sponsoring a prize for a lucky participant.

Pretty Pink Posh I Valentine's Day Shaker + Giveaway

Since I knew I would be posting on Valentine’s Day, I thought I would add in as much pink and red as possible. I started out with the Lawn Fawn Summertime Charm set and dies (one of my favorites) and proceeded to fill up my mason jar with all sorts of sequins and confetti.

GIVEAWAY ALERT: Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I wanted to pass on a little love to one of my readers. Leave a comment sharing something fun, happy or silly that happened to you recently. (I’m in need of a laugh). One random winner will receive a $40 Pretty Pink Posh gift certificate!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and pop over on to Virginia’s View Challenge. There a TON of amazing shaker card inspiration, plus, it’s always fun to participate in a challenge that has prizes!

I’ll be back on Monday with a new post AND info on a one-day sale I’m having over in the Pretty Pink Posh Shop. Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Sequin Shaker Tutorial

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I don’t know about you, but the weeks are flying by for me. I just looked at the calendar and realized that Easter is a mere five days away!

For today’s card, I used some the Teeny Heart Background and Happy Easter sentiment from DeNami, along with the Happy Easter set from Lawn Fawn. Oh yes and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins…but that’s pretty much a give in nowadays, right? *wink*

When you think of Easter, do you tend to think of pastel or bright colors? My initial thought is always pastel, but I have such a hard time using them and usually opt for brighter colors with a little pastel mixed in.

We all know I have sequin shakers on the brain lately. With a mere 11 days until the BIG Sequin Shaker Blog Hop, I thought it was time to bring a revamped video tutorial. Now if you’re anything like me, you might initially be intimidated or overwhelmed with the idea of a shaker. I promise, it really isn’t that hard! Take a look at the video and you can see for yourself….

In case you’re wondering what kind of sequin shaker you can create, here’s a few that I’ve made in the past. Honestly, you can create them for just about any occasion! Just type in “sequin shaker” into the search bar on my blog and you can see all of the ones I’ve done so far.

I hope that you ALL can participate in the blog hop on April 26th. If you missed the announcement, or want to look at the details again, CLICK HERE. Don’t forget, there are exclusive savings coupons in that post, too!

Shakin’ Under the Sea?

I’m back with another sequin shaker card! When I created my original shaker card {post here}, I was so taken with all the fun sequins shakin’ about, I could resist making a few cards with this technique. Today we’re going under the sea and swimming with some adorable little critters who seem to enjoy the sequins, too!

Since I went girly for the last card, I wanted to go the opposite direction and go bright & bold for this one. Thanks to my large rainbow of sequin colors, I had many colors that would work in this shaker. While I would love to hoard all of these beauties, it’s just so hard to resist adding them to all of my cards!

Oh yes, I pulled out some more chevron twill ribbon for this card. If you’ve been eying these ribbons, be sure to check out Little Free Radical on Etsy! They are a sponsor on my blog this month and their service/ prices are fabulous!

Just in case you missed the video from my earlier post, here’s how I create my sequin shaker cards. Switch out the patterned papers/ stamps and you can create shakers for any occasion!

It warms my heart when you all share that you liked a card or technique I did and tried it out yourself. As a designer who spends quite a bit of time creating, knowing that that hard work is appreciated and well received is such a joy. I already had two gals share their sequin shaker card creations with me and I feel like a proud mama. :) If you give this tutorial a whirl, I’d love to see your creations!

Thanks for spending some time with me today, I hope you were inspired!
