Happy Birthday Kelly Marie!

KellyMarieBlogHop

The stamping and blogging company is filled with so many wonderful, kind, thoughtful and talented people. I have had the incredible pleasure of working with many of them and one of the SWEETEST people is Kelly Marie Alvarez, one of the owners and the bubbly voice behind the Lawn Fawn videos.

TODAY is Kelly Marie’s birthday and the Lawn Fawn DT, fellow Lawn Fawn fanatics and some of her close crafty friends have put together a surprise blog hop for her. She has made such an impact in our lives and brought so much joy from her company, we wanted to let her know how much she means to all of us.

If you started the hop from the beginning, you should be coming from my sweet friend, Lynnette Kauffman’s blog! If you just joined the hop, or get lost along the way, head over to the master list on Tiffany’s blog– she’s the amazing gal who coordinated this big surprise hop!

In the hopes to spark some creativity for this special card, I pulled out all of my Lawn Fawn sets {which I thought was larger, but apparently not. I must remedy this soon!} and used Into the Woods, Summertime Charm and Admit One on today’s card. I recently received the new Into the Woods paper pack and they worked out perfectly for paper piecing my balloons. How fun would it be to have real balloons in these patterns?!

I know you’re ready to move on to the next stop- head on over to Elise Constable’s blog!

Thanks for spending some time with me today. If you’re on Facebook or Twitter, be sure to wish Kelly Marie a very special birthday wish. :)

Krazy for Kraft Blog Hop

As I sit typing up this post, I have a delicious smelling Pumpkin Pecan Waffles candle lit nearby. Ah, this scent is so yummy smelling and is definitely putting me in the mood for all sorts of festive projects. I just picked up some Halloween papers and candy corn, along with some fall inspired inks….I hope you all are prepared for a change in the seasons here on the blog!

Today is the DeNami Blog Hop and this month the theme is Krazy for Kraft. {Can you tell I’m a fan of alliterations?} If you started the hop from the beginning, you should be coming from Stacy’s blog. This gal is so sweet and talented- I’m sure she had something wonderful to share!

I am such a sucker for kraft…it’s hard for me not to use it on a project! I had no clue the direction I wanted to go for my post, so I randomly just pulled out a few fall stamps and built a card from there. Thankfully, it turned out okay!

prettypinkposh_kraft1a

Did you notice that awesome woodgrain embossed background? DeNami just started carrying 111 different embossing folders on the website and there are a few that I would say are definitely MUST HAVES. They are so easy to use and they can be the perfect touch to your projects, without being too much. Also, they are inexpensive, so that’s another plus!

You have one more stop left in this hop- head on over to Emily Keaton’s blog! Be sure to leave comments on each blog stop. DeNami is giving away gift certificates to two random comments, so you won’t want to pass up the chance at a mini shopping spree!

Thank you for spending some time with me today. Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Bling Birthday Jar {VIDEO}

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Today I have the last 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash video to share with you. If you missed any of the ones I posted earlier this week, you can view them all on the Pretty Pink Posh YouTube channel, along with the videos I’ve done in the past. I have some ideas for more videos in the future, but if you have requests, feel free to leave it in a comment below!

I adore bling and I brought that together with my love of the Lawn Fawn set, Summertime Charm and the matching dies. Add in a bit of twine and patterned paper and we have a great mixture of my craft loves on one card.

And now here’s the video showing how to create this card from start-to-finish.

Like I mentioned in the video, I can’t wait to see what YOU submit for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash. We have received quite a few entries thus far, but I know that some of you are waiting until the last minute to enter. Be sure to do it before the challenge closes on Saturday night! I don’t want you to miss out on the super big prize!

Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Party Porcupine + Birthday Sets

My heart is filled with joy at the excitement you all have expressed about the 10 Minute Craft Birthday Bash challenge and blog hop. Reading a few of the comments you have left for the gals has been so amazing. I heard from a few of the special guests that they have been blown away by your sweet words- thank you for recognizing their birthday creations and leaving them some well deserved love!

This week I’m planning on bringing you a variety of different birthday cards- for a variety of ages- in my hopes to continue to bring you inspiration. I have another cutesy card today, however, this time I went a little brighter in the colors. For this card I pulled out Admit One, Say Cheese, Critters in the Forest from Lawn Fawn and the Make A Wish from DeNami Design.

As I was preparing for this week, I came to the conclusion that I really don’t have many birthday sets and in the near future should expand my collection. In case any of you are in the same boat, here’s a few that Ellen Hutson carries in their store. If you haven’t ordered from them before, they have AMAZING customer service, a great selection of supplies and they also happen to be a big sponsor here for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash.

birthdayI’m an Ellen Hutson affiliate and purchases made using my link will earn me a small commission to help continue the blog and provide giveaways!

I saw that some have already started submitting for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #23 challenge- yay! I hope that as you visit the blog hop and see more birthday inspiration on my blog this week, you’ll decide to participate in the challenge. Don’t forget, there’s a HUGE prize up for grabs for the winner!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a more elegant card and video. Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe via email and like the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page. There have been rumors that they’ll be a giveaway and/or another prize up for grabs- stay tuned!

Sweet Strawberries

One of my favorite things about this time of year? Fresh fruit! I’ve always been a fan of fruit, but as the years have gone on, I have become allergic to pitted fruit. Boo! I miss those yummy peaches, plums and cherries so very much. Thankfully, berries are not an issue and I’ve been eating my fair share of strawberries {and raspberries} this year.

A couple months ago, I created a card featuring strawberries {post here} and while I was playing with those stamps, I made this card as well. With my limited time in the craft studio lately, I thought today would be the perfect day to share it with you all.

prettypinkposh_strawberry2a

It warms my heart that so many of my readers and crafty friends have found out about this AMAZING chevron twill ribbon. I have almost all of the colors and honestly, it’s hard for me to NOT use it on one of my projects. If you would like to purchase some of your own yummy ribbon, be sure to check out my sponsor, Little Free Radical. Not only does she carry all of the colors, she also sells it at a great price and her shipping time is crazy fast!

*I heard there’s a 1.5″ width  now! While I wouldn’t use it on a card, I would totally use it when I did gift wrapping. Thinking I’ll need to buy a few cards of some in the future to see how it looks!

prettypinkposh_strawberry2b

I’ll be a busy little bee this weekend. I have a contributing post for another blog to put together, a video that needs editing and lots of sample cards to create for an upcoming stamp release. Hoping health stays on my side so I can get everything done! If you think of it, I would welcome prayers!

Have a fabulous weekend, sweet blog friends. I’m sure I’ll chat with some of you on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page later on today and over the weekend!

Birthday Train + New Video

March is jam packed full of birthdays for my relatives. Let’s see…there’s my brother, my aunt, my grandma, my sister and my brother-in-law {who coincidentally are married and have the same birthday!}. Needless to say, I’ve been busy creating all sorts of birthday cards.

Today’s card was created for my sister and brother-in-law. I know, it’s horrible that I combined their card! This card took twice as long as I had planned for it to and well, I’m thinking what’s INSIDE the card will help them forget I only made them one. *wink* With my new obsession of sequins, I just had to add a few of them to this card. birthdaytrain1a

I received some questions on how I’m adhering my sequins to my projects. After going through my stash, I decided to give my Crystal Lacquer a whirl and it works PERFECTLY! Since it comes with a teeny tip, it’s perfect for these little sequins.

birthdaytrain1b

You may have noticed that I used some alphabet stamps on today’s card. I have loved this set from the moment I saw it and I was so thrilled when Lawn Fawn released dies to coordinate with them. I was so giddy to open mine up, I just had to film a short little video on how the dies work with the set and how I plan on using them.

I’m curious if any of you have alphabet dies and if so, which ones are your favorite? Also, how do you store them? As I mentioned in the video, I’m still looking for a good {and inexpensive} way to store mine. Can’t wait to hear your suggestions!

Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with the 10 Minute Craft Dash #13 Highlights and info on how to get an early peek at the upcoming challenge. Hope to see you then!

Birthday Bonanza Blog Hop

Good morning!

It’s time for the monthly DeNami Blog Hop and since it’s our birthday month, I thought it fitting to make it a birthday blog hop! There are so many different ways this theme can be used- I just know that this hop will be filled to the brim with inspiration! If you started from the beginning, you should be coming from Pattie Goldman’s blog.

Be sure to leave comments on each stop. We’re giving away BIGGER gift certificates in honor of the birthday month, which means bigger shopping sprees!

I went the cutesy route and decided to bring out the Cupcake Chickie as my focal point. I have loved this stamp from the first moment I saw it and can’t believe I haven’t used it for so long. Since this is a special hop, I wanted to do something “out of the norm” and made a cupcake topper, too. {I actually made three and took a picture, but the lighting turned out horrible}
birthday1a

I kept this card design super basic because I wanted the chickie to the take the spotlight. Only three stamps were used on this card {supply list below}.

birthday1b

It’s time to head on over to the next stop of the hop: Lisa Petrella’s blog! I have the incredible privilege of working closely with her as a DT member and she is phenomenal. Not only that, she always has the most creative ideas!

I’ll be back tomorrow for a small haul video and a card featuring what I created with my new goodies. If you’re wondering, yes, sequins will be making an appearance! Hope to see you then!

Happy Birthday Krista!

As the oldest of five kids, I always struggle a wee bit when my siblings have a birthday. It’s not for reasons you might thing though…. I have a wonderful relationship with each of my siblings. As each of them gets older, I’m reminded that they are growing up so quickly and their young “kid” days are over. However, I’m also grateful that we are all still close and getting older together has bonded us even more.

Today is my youngest sister’s 21st birthday. Recently many of you have gotten to know Krista- she’s contributed this post and this post. While you can get a small taste of her personality in her posts, it doesn’t even begin to encapsulate her personality and fun spirit. I wish each of you could meet her in person.

Krista’s personal style actually varies quite a bit from mine. She appreciate eclectic art a lot more and has a keen eye for colors, patterns and styles. Somehow she is able to mix together lots of “random” pieces and it always turns out amazing. Her room showcases this beautifully- I really should get her to do a post on it. Since I wanted to make her birthday card special, I tried to mix unique colors and patterns together.

krista_birthday1a

Recently I went to a scrapbook store and they had a Studio Calico paper pack on sale. It wasn’t a pack I would normally go for, but there was something about the colors that was so beautiful. I’m so happy I got it- I was able to use three of the papers on this card!

krista_birthday1b

The picture above shows off the papers and embellishments a little bit more. Did you notice the “st” stickers? Those were part of a pack I got from Target {in the dollar section} and never found a use for them. I’d say they work perfectly for this special card!

Right now Krista is in a transition stage and has a good possibility of moving to California for a chef job soon. Needless to say, I’m treasuring every last minute she is still here. I adore my little sister and am so proud of her. While I’m super sad to even think about her moving, I know that she’s going to do amazing things wherever she goes.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share a little peek inside my relationship with my sister. I’ll see you tomorrow for the exciting 10 Minute Craft Dash DT announcement!

Mad for Plaid

Do any of my fellow cardmakers struggle with creating masculine cards? I’ll be honest here: whenever a birthday comes up for one of my guy friends or a family member, my heart starts to panic. Do I have any cards in the stash that will work? Will they mind if I just buy a card? Will this person care if there’s a bow or glitter on their card?

Recently a friends birthday came up and I needed a card. Stat. I always seem to gravitate to patterned papers for guy cards- probably because I have quite a few that work for these kinds of cards. For this card I found this great plaid paper and it was my starting point for my color scheme. {Love this paper!}

On this card, I used Pile It On from WPlus9 Design Studio. Sadly, I’ve only used it once before, but now that I have successfully created a masculine birthday card with it, I’ll be pulling it out more in the future!

Tomorrow I’ll be skipping my regularly scheduled Thankful Thursday post. In it’s place, I have a post FULL of beautiful things, fun links and a GIVEAWAY!

Hope to see some of you on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page later. I just love interacting with you a little more and in depth there! If you haven’t “liked” my page over there yet, I hope you will! I truly do love getting to know you all better and this gives me the opportunity to do so a little better. :)

See you all tomorrow. Have a fabulous Wednesday!
