Creating for Drawn Together

Yesterday I posted about the fundraiser that Amber is putting together called Drawn Together. This is a great cause that I think will go far in the lives of the community & children of Newtown, Connecticut.

In my effort to donate some cards, in addition to other items, I sat down and made some cards on Saturday. I haven’t created in quite a while {since I’ve been sick}, so my creativity has gone MIA. In addition, just knowing that these cards will go to those affected by this tragedy, I couldn’t help but break down a few times while making items. There still are no words….

Since I know that bright colors tend to cheer me up, I tried incorporating them into the cards I’m making. I pulled out some patterned papers and the Lawn Fawn set, Critters in the Forest, to create this card.

I’ve hoarded quite a bit of patterned paper that I love, but haven’t been able to figure out what to use them on. Enter this special cause. I’m looking forward to using them to bless others and with many of them being bright colors, I hope they’ll bring a shimmer of light into the lives of those in CT.

I’ll be back tomorrow for my Random Loves feature for December. Hope you’ll be able to join me and list some of the things you’ve been enjoying this month!

Christmas Ornaments

Yikes! Is it true there are only 13 days until Christmas? I need to get moving on these Christmas cards- I’m only half way through my list! Oh my, let’s not even start with finishing up the shopping or wrapping the presents! Let’s hope that this sickness bug goes away soon so I can get everything done in time!

For today’s card I decided to go more traditional in my colors. While I absolutely love unique and whimsical Christmas colors, the classic Christmas always tug at my heart strings. The greens with the bright red….. *swoon*

I am such a fan of larger stamps- especially ones where I can stamp inside of them. For this card I used the Large Ornament from DeNami Design. Seriously love this stamp! For those who follow the DeNami blog, you may remember that I did a video with this stamp last year.

Click here to view the blog post and video.

Well, dearies, that’s going to wrap up this blog post. I’m so grateful you stopped by today. These past few days you all have left some of the SWEETEST comments- I feel so blessed. Thank you for making me a part of your day; hope you leave inspired!

Mad for Plaid

Do any of my fellow cardmakers struggle with creating masculine cards? I’ll be honest here: whenever a birthday comes up for one of my guy friends or a family member, my heart starts to panic. Do I have any cards in the stash that will work? Will they mind if I just buy a card? Will this person care if there’s a bow or glitter on their card?

Recently a friends birthday came up and I needed a card. Stat. I always seem to gravitate to patterned papers for guy cards- probably because I have quite a few that work for these kinds of cards. For this card I found this great plaid paper and it was my starting point for my color scheme. {Love this paper!}

On this card, I used Pile It On from WPlus9 Design Studio. Sadly, I’ve only used it once before, but now that I have successfully created a masculine birthday card with it, I’ll be pulling it out more in the future!

Tomorrow I’ll be skipping my regularly scheduled Thankful Thursday post. In it’s place, I have a post FULL of beautiful things, fun links and a GIVEAWAY!

Hope to see some of you on the Pretty Pink Posh Facebook page later. I just love interacting with you a little more and in depth there! If you haven’t “liked” my page over there yet, I hope you will! I truly do love getting to know you all better and this gives me the opportunity to do so a little better. :)

See you all tomorrow. Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Winter Reindeer

Hi there!

I’m popping in for a quick little post. To get my creativity flowing, I decided to play along in the Lawnscaping Challenge #46. Instead of going the normal route of creating a gift tag, I decided to incorporate tags onto my card.  Seeing as we just finished decorating our tree and the Christmas shopping has officially started, I thought a cute Christmas card was in order for this challenge.

I wanted to create a fun background, so I used Quinn’s 123’s and created a number background. With all of the fun of advent calendars in December, I thought this went well with the Christmas theme.  I paired the background with a snowflake, reindeer and sentiment from Critters in the Snow.

Have a fabulous rest of your weekend. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you were inspired by today’s little Christmas creation!

Until next time…..

Full of Gratitude

My heart is full with gratitude from all of your sweet words about my health update yesterday. I greatly appreciate all your prayers and well wishes regarding my appointment later on today. Trying not to get too excited {like I have in previous doctor visits}, but also trying to remain hopeful and optimistic. It’s such a tough balance!

Tomorrow is the deadline to submit your creations for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #6. I couldn’t resist giving you one more sample using these colors and my Avery Elle set, Blossoms & Blooms.

Time it took to create: 5 minutes 54 seconds

I’m amazed that my “normal” card used to take over an hour and now I’m really used to creating in a shorter amount of time. This challenge has changed my crafting life for sure! :)

I hope that you’ll join in my challenge- I would love to see what you create! There’s a fabulous prize for the winner and of course, you get to challenge yourself {and get a mini workout in!}.

So grateful for all of you……thanks for dropping by!

Thanksgiving Pilgrim

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Is anyone else in denial that Thanksgiving is next week? I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked at the calendar and came to this realization. Thank goodness for my handy blog calendar and phone for keeping me informed!

I have done a horrible job at posting Thanksgiving cards on this blog. For those who don’t know, I write over on the DeNami blog every weekday. Just about all of my creations end up there and my “extra” cards appear on this blog. With my health issues, I haven’t been up to crafting as much and sadly, my personal blog has suffered. Let’s hope things will start improving- I really want to post more crafty creations for you all. :)

Here is one of the Thanksgiving cards I created this year. I was so thrilled it turned out exactly how I envisioned. I saw this sky patterned paper {from Lime Twist Fly A Kite by My Minds Eye} and immediately wanted to create a scene.

It’s a little hard to tell from the picture, but I used one of my large scallop border punches to create the “waves”. After all, it wasn’t smooth sailing for the pilgrims in real life! You know….I had to be realistic with how my pilgrim chickie came across on the card. *wink*

I’ll be back here tomorrow with my Thankful Thursday post and a health update. I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday. We’re half-way to the weekend- we can make it!

Thoughtful Thank You Blog Hop

Hello there!

I’m here today for my post for the DeNami Thoughtful Thank You Blog Hop. I’ll be the first to admit, I had so many ideas on what I wanted to do for this post, but didn’t know if any of them would come to light. With my health being shaky lately, my bouts of crafting have been on and off. I’m SO grateful that I was feeling good one day and was able to knock out this fun little project.

If you started from the beginning of the hop, you should be coming from Pattie Goldman’s blog. If this is your first stop and you would like to start from the beginning, be sure to head on over to the DeNami blog for the complete list of participants.

This is a lengthy post, so let’s jump right into it…..

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about Christmas. It’s hard to resist- my mom has already put up our Christmas tree and the stores are all decked out in pretty decorations. I will admit, mentally I’m not prepared for the crazy holiday season, but I DO love creating pretty holiday items.

Since my budget will be tight this year, I plan on making some of my Christmas presents. I know quite a few of my friends aren’t super crafty, but appreciate homemade items, so I thought I’d create some little gift sets. Since many people receive Christmas presents, I thought I’d create some mini thank you cards so they can hand them out.

I’ve had these tins forever and thought this was a great time to pull them out. They are super handy- I’ve used them to wrap up gift cards, package cards and now using them for Christmas presents. Yay for versatile items!

I pulled out many stamps on this project- I’ll post the complete supply list below. I always enjoy seeing which stamps work together and these blog hops are the perfect time to do so. :) Hopefully it inspires you to try out new stamp combinations, or maybe introduce you to new DeNami stamps.

I know this was a longer post, so I’ll wrap this up. Your next stop on the hop: Barbara Murphy! This gal is such a sweetheart and also really creative. I’m sure she’ll have a fabulous item to share with us today.

Be sure to leave comments on all of the blog hop stops for your highest chance of winning one of the gift certificates. With the DeNami website offering 10% off for the month of November, the gift certificates will go even further! :)

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop. Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Bold Flowers

Wow, can it be? I’ll be posting at least 10 days in a row! Normally I like to take a break on the weekends, but I couldn’t pass up the new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

As you know, Avery Elle is sponsoring the 10 Minute Craft Dash this week and I can’t seem to stop using the Blossoms & Blooms set! I pulled it out for this card and paired it up with a sentiment from Paper Smooches. I decided I would use some warm colors inspired by the leaves scattered about the yard. {Side note: Fall is such a beautiful season}

I have to say, I’m utterly addicted to all of the new Momento ink colors. They stamp so nicely {see above} and I love the rich colors in the latest release. Have you tried these Momento inks before? I’ve love to hear your favorite colors!

I’ll be back tomorrow with my post for the DeNami Thoughtful Thank You blog hop post. I created a project {gasp!} and I hope you’ll stop by and take a peek. Have a fantastic Saturday!

November Cloud9 Blog Hop

Hello!

Today I’m participating in the November blog hop over at Cloud9. This inspiration photo is so colorful and inspiring- I had such a hard time deciding which part I wanted to use on my card. I decided I would go for the wall hanging, after all, I can’t pass up a bright and happy Christmas tree!

And now, here is my take……

I don’t have any full-on Christmas stamps by WPlus9, so I had to be a little creative. After sorting through my stamp sets, I pulled out all of my possibilities and found that this little medallion from Mehndi Medallions was my best option. I must say, I’m loving this little medallion tree! Did you notice the little bow? That’s from Kisses & Cuddles {which is a “baby” set!}. Yay for creativity!

I was originally going to leave this card without a sentiment, but it just looked a little too bear. After sorting through my sets {again}, I decided to use this one from Poinsettia Patterns.  It’s sweet and simple and I thought it worked well on this card.

I know there are many other stops on the blog hop, so I’m going to wrap up this post. Be sure to head on over to the Cloud9 blog for the list of participants and all the details of the hop! Thanks for visiting me here at Pretty Pink Posh today!

Poinsettia Blossoms

Happy Friday!

Some of you may be coming from the DeNami blog……welcome! I’m thrilled to have you join me on my personal blog for inspiration using the Poinsettia Vines set. This set is so pretty and can be used for everyday cards, in addition to Christmas cards.

Today I went the route of showing how to use this set on a thinking of you card. This little blossom is so pretty and I love how elegant and delicate it looks with pastel colors.

As you can see, I pulled out my Sew Easy tools again. Click here to view my photo tutorial I did a few months back. I cannot seem to stop sewing on my cards! I think it adds such a unique and delicate detailing.

Be sure to stop by the DeNami blog, along with the sweet Wendy Elliot’s blog for more inspiration using this pretty set. There’s a wide gambit of themes and colors- I know you’ll be inspired by them.

So glad you stopped by today. Talk with you all soon!
